Formating Numbers Using Word Format Mask

Hello!
Usually i use this format command to format my elements inside of each layout ( '<?format-number:Total_Price_w_o_Tax_ID12;'999G999D99'?>' ) but in this specific case i have one form field that contains the sum of a xml field ( ' <?sum(current-group()/Taxable_Ammount_ID9)?>' ) and i cant use format-number command to the format so i tryied with word format mask #.00##0,00. My problem is when i have for exemple 75 with 00 decimals it appears '75' and i want '75.00' . if i have 75.29 i dont have problems . Someone know how i can get '75.00' instead of '75' ?

I am a whiz at Excel but took the plunge for Numbers recently. Many things I cannot figure out how to do, but the current one is, I want some cells to always show + and - for the integers. So, things like:
+9
-5
+14
etc.
How do I set that up? My feeble attempts so far make negative numbers appear with both.

In the custom format window,
1) Click the plus sign.
2) Choose "if greater than 0"
3) Click in the new format line then use the left arrow to get to the left of what's already there
4) Type a +
5) If you want the format to be integers, skip this step. If you want decimal places then drag the decimal format up from below and drop one on the right of the original format and one on the right of your new format. Choose how many decimals you want for each. Choose to show trailing zeros if you want them.
6) Click OK

Formatting Numbers with BPC NW 10.0 SP19 1 in Microsoft Word & PowerPoint 2010

Dear BPC Experts,
We are trying to use the BPC Add-in for Microsoft Word and PowerPoint; however, we cannot figure out how to get the numbers in a report properly formatted.
I created a report directly in Word:
Then, on the EPM Ribbon I attempted to go to Options>Document Options and use the Formatting tab Number Format field and received the popup:
Error details:
I Copied a report from the Excel Add-in Report Actions>Copy Report to PowerPoint Report Actions>Paste Report but the number formatting is lost and I get the same error as with Word if I attempt to use Options>Presentation Options.
Any assistance with number formatting with the Word or PowerPoint Add-ins would be greatly appreciated.

Its simply saying that the both formats are different so its unable to apply the formatting.
in order to apply formatting in Word we have a special tab Design.
first create a report and then next go to design tab and choose any one of the default formatting table.
the formatting should be vary dynamically. please see the below images as reference.

How does one format "phone numbers" using "Numbers"?

Want all phone numbers to format as (555) 555 5555

Hi Thomas,
The old Numbers will be on your computer unless you deleted it. Look in a folder called iWork '09 inside your Applications folder. Launch Numbers 2 (Numbers '09) and do what you used to do to create a Custom Cell Format. For example, you might want a nine-digit phone number to appear as (123) 456 789.
Save that document. To protect it from Numbers 3.0, make a copy of that document with a different name. Ensure that both your original Phone Number documents are closed (to protect them from that bully Numbers 3.0). Then Open the copy in Numbers 3.0. The custom format will be listed in Format Inspector > Cell > Data Format
Type a nine-digit number into any cell and format the cell with Format Inspector > Cell > Data Format > Phone Numbers.
Note: copying a cell with Custom Format in Numbers 2 and then pasting into Numbers 3 does not work. The pasted cell ends up as Text, and the Custom Format is not added to the Data Format list.

Justification property is not working when using a format mask

Hi all,
I have a text item with number data type and right to left reading order,
I put the justification property to right.
I used a format mask to set two decimal places for the entered number.
The problem is the justification property is not aligning right, I noticed that it's aligning right only if i removed the format mask or changed the reading order to (left to right).
I hope there is a solution for this

Format mask and justification will not work for Non english character sets.
To support bidirectional languages such as Arabic, do not use Left or
Right justification (numeric text items can use Right justification). Use
Start and End instead.

I would just leave them in Word...GR reads many formats very easily.
If our goal is to work on/edit the files it may be useful to look into something like Pages if you have a Mac, and the Pages for iOS devices so you could use the same word processor on both machines.
But if you convert the Word to PDF and then use GR you can still edit the files...GR will edit and annotated PDF files rather easily.

Using Word on Pages- formatting?!?!

Hey, I am using a PC at uni so saving my files as Word, but then opening this Word doc on pages, but always saving as a Word doc. I first had trouble with Endnote in that every time I referenced at uni, then used my Mac, then went back to PC it was recognising it as a new file- as in when I referenced again it started the library again. I solved this problem by saving it "unformatted" before using my PC. Now I have a new problem, but I think its along the same lines, as I don't think you can add captains and cross-reference figures on Pages, I have to do this on the PC, but the same thing happens, I used my Mac, and then when I go back to Word, the captains and cross-references I had added the previous time are not been recognised, and I have to start from figure 1 again... Very annoying!! But I think it is similar to the Endnote problem in that it is recognising it as a new file (not sure why as I am only opening it in Pages, but as a Word doc?!!?). Anyway does anybody know how to solve this? Is there a captain/cross-reference tool on Pages? Or is there a way to save them on Word as ''unformatted''?!?

You got the standard behaviour.
Re read carefully these extracts from the iWork Web page. You won't read anything saying that what you get when opening a Word doc or exporting in Word format is supposed to be a clone of the original.
I know that some vendors said that Pages is able to clone Word documents but they are simply liars.
Switching from Word for PC and Word for mac introduce differences so, it's not really surprising that Pages introduce some of them too.

Can you transfer data from one numbers spreadsheet to another using conditional formatting?

I have a tracker document set up for client payments and when I indicate payment received, it flags green using conditional formatting. However I would like these to automatically transfer to another sheet - without having to cut and paste the associated data to the other sheet. Can I set up conditional formatting to do this? If not how could I get and automatic transfer?

Hi Kangers,
There are a number of ways to transfer data from one table to the next. It should not be hard to set up.
Conditional formatting would not be involved it moving the data but you could set it up to flag the data in the new table.
Without knowing what your tables and data look like it is hard to propose a solution.

Application Express 3.1 + BI-Publisher + problem with formating numbers

Hello together!
I use the Oracle BI Publisher Template Builder for Word (10.1.3.4) to generate RTF-Templates. I upload these templates in Oracle Apex (Advanced support-->BI-Publisher/OC4J as print service).
It works well, but I have a problem with formating numbers.
In Template Builder I define following number formats, for example: #.##0 for numbers like 1.454.234 and #.##0,00 for numbers like 54,80
In Template-Builder Preview it looks well.
But whatever I do, in use with Oracle Apex dots and comma are allready interchances in the printout.
That means,
1.454.234 become 1,454,234 in PDF-Report
54,80 become 54.80 in PDF-Report
Other than that, the layout is exactly the same like in Template Builder defined.
What's wrong?
Do I have to change any country parameter?

I also had the same problem. I tried with normal formating of 99g99g999d99 instead of ##,##,##0.00 and it has resulted correct way.

Export to Word Format BUG - Pages won't do it

The latest version of Pages for MAC (5.0.1), can't export a simple text document to WORD format.
It takes forever and, at last, craches my Mac .
Anyone else's expericing it?

Page 2 is pure HTML page with the numbers i try to pass from page 1.
Everything looks simple and workable. But... There is always some buts... :)
Problem : because the numbers in report formatted with commas when
page 2 opens i have a pieces of numbers in my hidden items. (i.e.
if i sent 123,456 234,567 and so on, i get
123 in p2_HDN_1
456 in p2_HDN_2
234 in p2_HDN_3
567 in p2_HDN_4
and so on...
I searched help and found this :
itemValues
List of item values used to set session state within a URL.
Item values cannot include colons, but can contain commas if
enclosed with backslashes. To pass a comma in an item value,
enclose the characters with backslashes. For example:
\123,45\
So i tryed to do something like this:
v_values = p1+',\'+p2+'\,\'+p3+'\,\'+p4+'\,\'+p5+'\,\'+p6+'\';
Unfortunatly it does not work, giving error "Object expected".

Thanks for replay. I did try to put double backslashes and it did not work either. However it worked when i put double backslashes in javascript and single quotes in call for javascript :

When you open a Word document in Pages, it is translated into the internal .pages document format — and you are no longer working in the original Word document format. This translation also occurs in reverse when exporting a document back to Word. When you open a Word document in Pages, if it has issues with the translation (missing font characteristics, other issues), it will open a warning dialog box and display these issues for you.
If however, you prefer to always work in the native Word document format, and not risk translation issues, then you should be using MS Word in Office for Mac 2011 with the latest update.
