Formating to Win7 VECD and driver issues

I have recently formated my booklet 3g to win7 vecd for enterprise issues.
After reinstalling all the drivers I've found that just the 3G option modem usb driver doesn't installs correctly, the driver listed from the nokia->support webpage.
Eitherway, in the option webpage, with my IMEI i cannot find the method to download the globetrotter connect 3.1 since it is a "secured" file. I have also tried to download the software that my mobile provider gives to me, but it doesn't work neither. Also tried to install the driver from the option webpage for the option 382E embedded device, and still is not recogniced...
I have my sim inside the SIM slot... but in the device administrator from windows 7, its says that there is an "unknown device" under the USB tab.
I don't know what shall I do now in order to find a solution for this.
Thanks in advance for any possible solution

Up to today, I've tried multiple choices in order to make this work.
Still find in the Device Adminsitrator: "unknown device", under the USB controllers. I expect this to be the 3G/GPS modem, but not sure, since is the only thing not working still on my laptop.
Ive tried using drivers version 5.1.32, 5.1.33 even a driver for 382 made for a laptop Acer Timeline, with no success...
Thing is I have tried also uninstalling the unknown device driver, and rebooting computer, but still comes back the same driver... this done with all the drivers downloaded so far.
Under the drivers folder for the "official nokia-option" set, appears some like:
GtGps.inf
gthsmdm.inf
gthsndis.inf
I've tried to installed them manually but then, the device gets stuck with no response. I'm starting to believe that maybe the usb modem is broken, or doesn't support the windows 7 enterprise edition. But that is pretty strange, since is a 32 bit edition, and all version are based on the same type of software... then starting to believe the first thing.
My booklet is branded with Spanish Movistar provider, and I have a Movistar SIM into the slot, so I should  have no problems of SIM locks or anything like that (even it doesn't even recognice the modem).
This is kind of frustrating since is the only thing left for me to have the booklet working great

  • Display and driver issues with Windows 7 on i5 MBP

    Hello-
I just purchased one of the i5 Macbook Pros, and set out to get Windows 7 working through boot camp. I did this on an older model (32-bit) previously with no problems.
This time around, installation of Windows worked fine, but I have had some trouble getting all the drivers working. The setup.exe program on the OS X DVD didn't want to run at all, I had to do a workaround from the command line that I found on a forum (otherwise I just got a response of "Bootcamp x64 is unsupported on this computer model").
Eventually I got (at least some of) the drivers to work, but there are still some issues.
After installing the drivers, things like brightness and two-finger clicking started working. A number of other things still aren't, though:
    - Display: My machine has a 1440x900 screen. But for some reason Windows refuses to go higher than 1280x800.
    - Network: No wireless at all. Windows doesn't detect any wireless capability, and only gets on-line via ethernet.
There may be other issues, but these are the big ones. Can anyone provide suggestions on what to do to get everything working?
    Thanks!

I just used winclone to move my Win 7 from my Core2Duo MPB to an i5 MBP and had to do a few updates and have eneded up in pretty much the same place as you. I won't bother installing from scratch. I'm guessing we just need to wait for some bootcamp updates for these new machines.
For those of you who are looking to migrate your bootcamp partition over, winclone made it easy - I followed the directions for resizing and Win7 boots, does a disk check, then installed many of the new drivers automatically. There are some drivers that are still needed however, wifi and video. I also so a USB driver issue but have to look at that a little closer before I comment.
    Best of luck,
    Simon

  • Printing Banners and Driver Issues

I have recently updated some family tree stuff and wanted to print this off on a multi page banner.  I have 2 HP printers a Photosmart 5520 and a P1102W laser printer and neither appear to give the option to print a multipage banner.
After a search it was suggested by someone that the driver for the Deskjet 6980 would work on the 5520 however I cant find it to downoad anywhere.
I have a macbook running osx 10.8 and all the option say to upgrade drivers via the software update feature but given I dont currently have a deskjet 6980 then I cant get the upgrade (even the HP site for the driver doesnt seem to have a driver to download)
Is there a way to get an updated software for any of the printers I have that would let me print a banner or get a compatible driver that will?
Seems a bit weird that the printer I had 15 years ago let me print banners but these new ones won't
Anyway, I hope someone can help

Hello scm256. I understand you are having banner printing and driver upgrade issues.
In terms of banner printing, only our higher-end printers are almost guaranteed to possess that capability. I will post the specifications of both the printers, so you can review the supported paper sizes and types:
    Photosmart 5520: http://h20565.www2.hp.com/portal/site/hpsc/template.PAGE/public/kb/docDisplay/?sp4ts.oid=5157533&spf...
    Laserjet P1102W: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&docname=c01999607
In terms of updating the drivers, you are probably experiencing that the printers you own do not possess any driver updates at this time, especially an older printer like the Deskjet 6980. Also, there likely will not be a driver update for banner printing, for any printers that do not originally support it.
Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns. I'm only here to help!

  • MZen Micro Software and Driver Issue

I'm operating with the following and have not been able to link to Creative site or computer for several years, just able to play existing songs.
    - Zen Micro V.0.03
    - Vista 6.0 Build 6002 Service Pack 2? 32 bit
    - Windows Media Player .0.6002.83
If anyone can help me with which drivers and SW that I need to upgrade to it would be appreciate. I fear I may have to upgrade initially on an XP system and then again on Vista. If someone can help me with this it would be greatly appreciated.
    Jim

(Re: MZen Micro Software and Driver IssuesHere's what is stated in the firmware details. ?
    IMPORTANT:
Be sure to back up all the audio and data files on your Zen Micro before installing this firmware update as all content will be lost when you install the new firmware. After installing the firmware, use Windows Media? Player 0 to restore audio and/or data files to your player.<
This firmware will currently ONLY work on Windows XP or Windows XP Professional x64.<
Installation of this firmware may take up to 5 minutes, and your device may reboot a number of times during installation.<
Software updates are required if you want to use any currently installed applications like Creative MediaSource?, Zen Media Explorer, or other track management tools with your player.<

  • WoW Wireless Headphones Mic and Driver issue

I know a lot of people have issues with the mic sounding muffled to others. One thing i noticed is that the default sample rate is 16000 Hz (Tape Recorder Quality). Is this my only option becuase I feel that is my issue. My destop mic is set at 48000 (DVD Quality). I cant believe there is not a way to change this. I have updated the firmware but dont feel that did much at all.
The other thing I wanted to mention is the driver date. I downloaded it on the website where it says released March 23 2010, yet when I go into the actual driver its date is December 9 2009. Is it really that old.

Are your headphones showing up as the default playback device? I have an X-FI Titanium and the headphones connected and my Titanium is usually my default for my speakers. In Windows 7, I usually go to control panel and sound, and there I choose the WoW as default and this solves my issue.
Windows usually chooses the first device listed in control panel until you choose another default.

  • USB and Driver Issues

    Hello!
I recently received a bunch of new devices for Christmas - a digital camera, MP3 player, etc., plus I just bought a BlackBerry this week.
The problem I'm having with all of these devices is my Compaq Presario CQ60 Laptop will not connect with these devices.  It works fine with my mouse and my printer, but those are drivers I had installed right when I got the computer.
Although I installed the drivers using disks or website files for all of these other devices, when I plug them in the computer does not recognize them.  It tries to install the driver then says pops up with the "device driver software was not successfully installed".
The devices themselves also act as if they are connected to the computer for about 1-2 seconds, then act as if they aren't.  My Kodak camera won't even turn on if it's plugged to the computer.  The BlackBerry turns itself on and off of charging mode but I manage to back it up when I run the software.
This happens with all 3 USB ports.
And under My Computer the devices don't show up if they are plugged in.  Again, it works fine with things that worked with the computer before the problem started, which as far as I can tell was before the holidays.
    Any advice?  Thanks!

    Thanks,

This would be the first thing to consider as I have no knowlege of which, if any, service pack for Vista you have installed.
Have you gone to the support web page for your laptop and applied the Windows Essential updates that are recommended by HP? Here is a direct link to the HP web support document. There are hotfixes for numerous issues included in the updates which are specifically for your laptop.

  • R400 XP to Win7 OSD and Wake issues

    Hi All,
I recently upgraded to Win7(32bit) for XP. I was not able to install HOTKEYS (OSD).
Thinkpad Hotkey V:3.87; On Screen Display v:6.71,
as "An error occured while copling file shtctky.dll" "Cannot coply file to destination directory."
Also when ever my laptop goes to SLEEP mode , its not resumeing that is wakeup. Then I need to force fully Shutdown and Start again.
FYI: I had installed all the updates, both Win7 and lenovo. (Volume MUTE hard key's is not working)
    ( no issues with XP)
    Kindly advice.

I can't add value, but I can confirm other issues with CAD workflows on Win7 (we're on x64 though).  We use a workflow step to direct the embedded browser to a URL when the call ringing event happens.  This seems to work, but after time, will simply stop firing.  TAC says it's "custom workflow" which they equate to "development" which in turn means "go talk to a partner".  I think we can all agree that if you design a piece of functionality to be customizable/flexible, that doesn't give you the right to carte blanche not suport it just because your customers are using it within designed spec.  It's basically like them saying "this feature is perfect, can't have bugs, and if you have issues, it's something you did wrong".
Sorry, ranting, but I'm glad I'm not the only UCCX-er out there experiencing CAD workflow woes on Win7.

    hi everybody out there

the windows installation through bootcamp was easy and winzozz it's working ok.
I installed Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 but the game doesn't start, it crash and return to windows while is loading give me this error:

Is there any chance to update the video card drivers?
    Am i doing something wrong?
Many thx in advance for your help

There are threads on x1900 and BootCamp, on display issues, and updating. Also over in the BootCamp Beta forum.
ATI's latest x1900 Catalyst driver looks to be May '06.
When was the game last updated?
Maybe it, and BootCamp 1.3, doesn't 'know' or properly recognize your logicboard, an 8-core system.
    "It didn't work."
doesn't give a lot to go on. Did you uninstall and then restart and install? I know Nvidia has improved driver update process in the last two updates (monthly).
I am using Vista 64-bit so I don't even know if SP2 is up to what you need and run on your system.
AMD has Boot Camp only drivers
    http://ati.amd.com/support/drivers/mac/bootcamp-xp.html
You could try the x1900 driver and Catalyst which are newer
    http://ati.amd.com/support/drivers/xp/radeonx-xp.html
FWIW I use native Nvidia driver from July 26 on OEM 7300 GT in Vista.

Hi All, need help. Recently I re-installed Win XPro on a T42 Type 2373 ThinkPad. Prior to doing a re-installed all devices were working(just 3 days ago). Wireless and Ethernet. After a clean installed the systems does not see ethernet or wireless device. I checked Device Manager and I get the famous "? Other Devices" for Ethernet Controller. I have installed all the driver listed on

Still systems does not recognize device. Devices are ENABLED in the BIOS. Device Manager does not show Wireless device and Ethernet.  I was able to install video, sound, & modem. So here I am stuck unable to connect to internet via LAN or Wireless. I am lost for words. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

Solved: after downloading the driver I actually had to go to the location of the file and click on the SetUp and it worked.
After downloading and opening the exe file i assumed (and we know what that does) that was all i needed to do. It seems that also have to then open the folder that this file unpacked to and click on the setup file (which i didn't realise was there).

  • HP Designjet Z3200ps Constantly on "Pause" and Driver Issue

    Hello.
I have a Z3200ps 44-inch, which goes to "Pause" all the time and doesn't allow to print at all. Also I cannot see Paper/Quality menu in printer driver window.
HP Printer Monitor shows the printer to be "Idle", which is its normal state.
All the drivers are up-to-date and I tried to reinstall them, as well as resetting the printing system - it just doesn't help.
    Any ideas?

I have purchased I phone 4S on April 30th 2014. Since I bought this phone, I have been facing issues such as Battery Back up, Software and Hardware issue and hang issue. I had visited I store last month where they just formatted my phone. The issues were not taken care completely, even till now the issues are on. I would appreciate if you could help me with the right escalation desk for raising my voice to Apple team.

Hello, when you are having an error on your iPhone and going to the Apple store to get it taken care of, make sure you speak up and provide as much detail as you can. The first iPad Mini I had bought had errors on it, and I didn't speak up and provide further details on my issue.
Hope your issue gets resolved soon!

  • IMac and Formatting USB Drive Issues

I have an 8GB USB drive that I formatted to MS-DOS FAT using my iMac with 10.6.4 on it. However I now realise that that was a stupid thing to do as now that drive no longer works on Windows no matter what I format it too. I want the pen to allow me to use it on both WIndows and Mac (hence the FAT format) however Windows sees the drive as an unformatted 200MB drive with 7.16GB of unallocated and corrupted space which cannot be formatted.
Windows cannot even attempt to allow me to format it to gain the 8GB back as it is unable to format the space even when its turned into free (empty) space. Luckily OSx can still use it as normal but it just means I've lost a perfectly work USB drive due to an error in OSx.
Can anyone help to to fix this as I really want it to work and I'm stumped as to how.
    Thanks!

It shouldn't matter as I created the files and folders originally on a FAT formatted drive and copied them to my Mac then back at a later date, at which point an error was encountered and prevented me copying folders to the dive (the contents was fine once removed from folders and sub folders).
I believe Apple has fixed this now, however when I formatted the drive my iMac had this problem so I believe this effected the FAT formatted drive to prevent Windows working with it.
Well I have finally managed to fix the drive. I had to format the drive to free space and then plug it into a Windows 7 PC and then delete the free partition and reallocate it again to FAT 32. Window Vista and XP where an able to do this as they say I didn't have permission to do this and asked for a restart. Strange but atleast it finally works on both machines.

  • ATI driver issues and slow video playback

I just reinstalled Arch and I installed the ATI drivers, at first I couldn't get them working but when I did, video in full screen was amazingly slow, so I tried installing ati-drivers-arch, as someone in the boards suggested but after that each time I start X, it would crash my computer, so right now I am using the standard vesa driver to even start X.
Also when trying to resize mplayer (while using -vo gl) it says my computer is too slow. And VLC has no speed issues but the quality of the picture is very poor.
    I am running:

It doesn't look like xorg 7 has been installed.  The latest kernel 2.6.15 needs xorg 7, udev, and initrd .
I may be wrong but my xorg is much smaller in size and fonts are handled differently in the latest kernels.
Please see the blogs concerning the upgrades to the xorg 7 changes.

I have an external hard drive that was formatted by a PC and has files and directories copied to it etc. I want to use it on my IMAC for backup. I see it on my my IMAC . I can open files etc.  But I can't seem to write to it nor can I delete current content. I don't care if I lose current content. How do I initialize it for use with the MAC?

You can't write to it because it's formatted as NTFS which OS X will read but not write to. If you want to continue using the drive with both a PC and OS X you will need to download and install NTFS-3G so you can then write to it from your Mac. You can get NTFS-3G at:
    http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/24481/ntfs-3g
If you want to use the drive exclusively with your Mac then move the data off it and reformat it in Disk Utility (Applications - Utilities - Disk Utilities) as Mac OS Extended (Journaled.)
