Formatting a multi-block report

I am having trouble with formatting a multi-block report. For some reason, when I get to the second page - the builder automatically starts putting in extra white space at the top of each page thereafter which really throws off my formatting.also, for one of the blocks, the builder puts each record onto its own page. does anyone have any suggestions?

i was unable to resolve the issue -
it is as follows
i am creating a complex report that includes several different reports and graphs - so the report that i am referring to had to be created manually -
it is a manually created group above report -
the group above works nicely - but between each group there is a page break -
although there is no page break between the last group and the next report block.

• Multi block report in clustered report server environment on web

Hi, I have a complex report that runs on web through web_show_document. There are two report servers configured as primary and slave. The report has two query blocks. When executed on this environment, the first query block is executed on the primary and the 2nd on the slave.Thus generating two different reports. While when there is only one report server(slave stopped) the report runs fine.
My reqirement is to execute this report on one server. Can anybody guide in resolving this..
Thanks in advance.

• Multi page report with large master block

I am doing a long multi page report with master - detail block.
Master block is about 60-100 lines long in form format and detail block is 0 to 300 lines in table format.
I would like to repeat a few columns from master block on all subsequent pages.
The current solution I have done uses a logical page of 4x1, but in this way i can not repeat selected columns on subsequent pages.
Is there another way to handle large master block that extends more than one page.
PB

You can try this. Create another frame within your master repeating frame and put items there which you want to display on next pages. And set the property of this frame as All Pages.

• I want to block reported web forgeries, but cannot find the preferences button.

I have Windows XP and Firefox 7.0.1. I am trying to "block reported web forgeries." The instructions I read said I could get to this choice via "Firefox"," preferences", and "security." Within "security" I would have the desired choice.
I have apparently done something wrong. I do not find a "Firefox tab", much less a "preferences" choice. Please be kind; I am not very knowledgeable. I cannot figure out how to copy and paste in this setting. This is the fourth time I have tried to write this question. Several months ago, when I asked a question, I used the wrong terminology and got a sarcastic answer. I need help, not judgement.

I followed your instructions, and they worked great! Once the Firefox button was available, there were other choices I had been wondering about. I will try them out (copy, paste using clipboard) when I have time. Thank you for the suggestion.
I also converted back to the original menu format by going to the "options" choice after clicking on the Firefox button. Within the options you check "menu bar" and the menu bar appears complete with a "tools" choice. This procedure may only work with Windows XP, but if you want a "tools" choice and a menu bar this procedure might be worth a try. The "tools" menu has nearly all the choices available when the "Firefox" button is visible, and very few, if any new options. The key to switching formats is in choosing the "options" button where ever it appears in either format. All of these choices are in the upper-left corner of the screen.

• Multi-columned report

Helllo,
I"m using Application Express 3.1.2.00.02
I want to do a 3 columned report.
I just saw this thread ( from 2005 - that's why I started a new)
Multi-columned report
When I applied the template to my report region, I got the following error:
ERR-1025 Erreur lors du traitement de l'expression PL/SQL. mod(1,3)0
Can someone tell me why?
thanks,
Roseline
My Query - select ename from emp
The template I created step by step:
Create a report row template....
Workspace>Builder-Application>Shared Components>Themes>Templates...Create
Template Type: Report
Creation Method: From Scratch
Name: One Field - Three Column
Theme: your choice
Template Class: Standard
Template Type: Named Column (row template)
Edit the report Template you just created and modify the following:
Row Template 1:
#1#

Row Template Condition: Use Based on PL/SQL Expression
Row Template 1 Expression: mod(#ROWNUM#,3)0
Row Template 2:
#1#

Row Template Condition: Use Based on PL/SQL Expression
Row Template 2 Expression: mod(#ROWNUM#,3)=0
Before Rows:

After Rows:

Create a query based report region. For my test I used "select ename from emp". Have the report use the row template.
This is just a quick and dirty sample. For better look and feel you'll need to do your own formatting...

Yes, that's it.
However, that I SEE is only 4 name ( every 3 name of the list) on the same line:
ENAME WARD ENAME BLAKE ENAME KING ENAME JAMES
1 - 14 But when I cut and paste from Internet Explorer to a text file,m=, even if I see all the result on the same line, when I past it, it's formated :
ENAME WARD
ENAME BLAKE
ENAME KING
ENAME JAMES
1 - 14
I have 14 results in my database:
In My SQL
select * from emp

• Gc cr multi block request.

Hi ,
I am sufferiung from a 40 hour long running job which normally completes in few hrs, that jus creates a table (actually create table as select,joining many tables using parallel query withe 16 sessions).
There is only 2 session that are active at this time, one of them is the parent waiting on PX:DEQ EXECUTE REPLY.
The other sesion is running from 24 hrs, it is actually not waiitng upon any event for a signifcant time.Most of the time it faces GC CR MULTI BLOCK REQUESTS wait event. Is this due to interconnect latency?.I guessed it because the protocol used by the interconnect is UDP which doesnot wait for an acknowledgement. Can you please suggest me how to check for the latency on the interconnect?? Is my doubt on the interconnect is reasonable???????????
I checked the trace files,awr reports,ash reports and every thing but nothing seems to be working fine. All I see is that single sesion using up 98% of the CPU and the TOP wait event in the awr,ash reports being the CPU Time.Pleas help me.Thanks.

You are difficult to help as you don't post
- a four digit database version
- information on your OS
- information, including configuration info, of your interconnect
RAC is a chatty protocol, and sends large packages, of even 64k and higher. This means if you don't use an 1 Gb network card, and don't have 'jumbo frames' enabled, performance will suffer.
As a result, at least in 9i, you will see this very wait event show up all the time, at least on AIX.

• Use of project view to group project records in multi-project report

I have a summary level multi-project report to report summary level information for active projects. We are using project view to organize our projects between departments and divisions (hierarchical structure) - represented by folders in project view. Projects are occasionally moved between project folders. If anyone has experience with report development using folder structure? My intent is to create grouping band based on folder structure and list projects under appropriate folder/band.
Any assistance is greatly appreciated.
I am using CM14.1 with OBIP 10.1.1.7
Thanks,
Prath

If you are creating a standard multi-project report (no retrieval criteria; project_state=0) and you run this report from within PCM, PCM automatically appends to your syntax the filtering criteria for the "folder" the user has highlighted in the project tree. In this case you would have one report that would retrieve multiple sets of data actively depending upon the project tree position. I have seen sometimes this causing issues with certain base syntax, but in general this should work.
Sounds, though, like you're building your report to call to the raw project_view tables, and Rick pointed out you need to use both of these tables then most likely.

Hi,
OK - I've put together a horizontal scrolling report template for a Theme 12/Standard report: [http://apex.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=33642:198]
To create this, you need to:
1 - Through Shared Components, Templates - create a new Report Template based on a copy of the existing Standard report template.
2 - When you have your new template, edit it.
3 - In the template's "Before Rows" setting, replace what's there with the following:
<style type="text/css">
#table1 th {white-space: nowrap}
#table1 td {white-space: nowrap}
#table2 th {white-space: nowrap}
#table2 td {white-space: nowrap}
</style>
<table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" summary="" style="padding:0px; border-collapse:collapse;">#TOP_PAGINATION#
<tr><td>
<tr>
<td style="vertical-align:top; background-color:#EFEFEF; padding:0px; border:1px solid darkgray;">
<div id="d1" style="background-color:white; margin:0px; border:0px; padding:0px;">
</div>
</td>
<td style="vertical-align:top; padding:0px; border:1px solid darkgray;">
<div id="d2" style="overflow-X:scroll; margin:0px; border:0px; padding:0px; border-right:1px solid darkgray;">
<table cellpadding="0" border="0" cellspacing="0" summary="" class="t12Standard" id="table2">4 - In the template's "After Rows" setting, replace what's there with the following:
</div>
</td>
</tr>
</table><div class="t12bottom">#EXTERNAL_LINK##CSV_LINK#</div></td></tr>#PAGINATION#</table>
<script type="text/javascript">
var d1 = document.getElementById("d1");
var t2 = document.getElementById("table2");
var t1 = t2.cloneNode(false);
t1.style.width = "100%";
t1.id = "table1";
d1.appendChild(t1);
var t2Rows = t2.rows;
var k;
var r;
var c;
for (k = 0; k < t2Rows.length; k++)
r = document.createElement("TR");
t1.appendChild(r);
c = t2Rows[k].cells[0].cloneNode(true);
r.appendChild(c);
t2Rows[k].deleteCell(0);
d1.innerHTML += "";
</script>5 - On your report's Report Attributes, change the template used for the report from "Standard" to your new one
6 - Also on the report's Report Attributes, set "Enable Partial Page Refresh" to No - this is required as we need the javascript in the template to be run whenever pagination happens and Partial Page Refresh does not seem to allow us the means to trigger javascript
7 - Finally, on the report region's Region Footer, add in:
<style type="text/css">
#d1 {width:75px;}
#d2 {width:500px;}
</style>#d1 refers to the width of the frozen column and #d2 is the width of the rest of the report - you can adjust these figures as required.
The template contains two DIV tags - d1 and d2. Initially, d1 is empty and d2 contains the report. The javascript moves the first cell in each row from d2 to d1. The styles then add the scrolling functionality.

• Multi-query reports in Reports 3.0

When I run multi-query report in Reports 3.0 the report runs
correctly when I first load the report. However, when the report
is run for a second time the sub-queries do not appear to execute
and the report does not give a complete output, if any.

Hello Mike,
Whenever you work on multi-query reports you have to set all
the relationship within the tables. If you have not specified
then specify within the where clause.
Try this. I hop your problems get solved.

• Multi-Language report in XML Publisher(Its is urgent, Please help)

Hi All,
I am working on Multi-Language report. We have installed just 3 languages (English, Japaneese, Spanish) but my requirement is to display the reports in few more un-installed languages like Korea, chineese etc. I tought of doing the lables (all hard coded fields) to translate using .XLIFF file. When i try to run the report, in language settings (this is the place where the XML report takes the language input)i can see only those languages which are installed. How can pass other languages (un-installed) as a parameter in the XML report?
Please suggest. It is very urgent.
Thanks,
AS

for this functionality, i had to write a custom package to submit the request for that particualr language and set the language while setting the parameters .
Thanks.

• How to Design Multi Page Report in SSRS 2008

Hi All,
I have managed to create a multi page report. When I am preview mode i can see that the report has 2 pages.
But when I am in design view I cannot view the second page. How can I view the second page. Reason being I am trying to create a template where the table for certain data needs to be at the top of the page and some data at the middle and so on.
Thanks in advance.
Aash.

Hi Aash2,
According to your description, the behavior of cannot view the second page in design view is expected, in another way, there is only one page in design view.
Report Designer supports two views: Design to define the report data and report layout, and
Preview to display a rendered view of the report. If you would like to show a table on the first page, and show the other table on the second page, you can add a page break on the first table like followings:
1. Click the gray handle in the first table, select “Tablix Properties”
2. Click “Add a page break after” check box under Page break options in General Tab
After do above, you can see the first table in the first page, and the other table in the second page.
