Formatting a report in OFR.

We have multi Scenarios for children of a Line of Business, We have them in one col on a report. some of the scenarios are %. We want to use Conditional formation on the cols, but OFR will not let you do this. If we break the scenarios into seperate cols, then the report shows each scenario for each line of business. we need to see Line of business by each scenario. See attached word document for discription.
Scenarios in applications. Some are % scenarios. We are using Col templates across reports. We can not use conditional formatting in templates. We need to format col scenarios that are % with “% sign” If we break col into separate col’s, then the report will show each child by scenario instead of each child with the scenarios together.

I have a similar problem. actually i have a calendar and wanted the current date highlighted or in a different color. so even i was wondering what i should give in the formatting column. It only takes a numeric input. Did u figure this out ? is there any workaround. Thanks,

you can edit the CSS - there is a CSS class assigned to the key figures.... this is for WAD....

How to print formated data/report on client's printer (Web Application)

Hi All
I want to print some formatted data/report ( it might be 1000 pages) on user's printer.
Application is web based
Technology used are Java - jsp - servlets
i want functionality like...
when user click on print button/link, data is fetched from server and all pages (it is formated data so i want alignment on page while printing) should be printed one after another.
Also printer selection dialog should displayed one time when user click on print button/link.
Questions:
1. How i will transfer all data to client (web browser) from the server ??
2. And how i can print that data on user's printer ??
There is requirement (or limitation) that I can not use applet for this purpose.
And also it is not fix that we must use java tech., we can use any othere tech. but condition is that it must support multiple platform (in short platform indipendant)
There is solution like ...
I can use window.print() function of DOM/JavaScript,
but it prints only one page which is displayed on browser.
I don't want to display any page. and want to print all pages.
if any one done or have idea then let me know.

we can use ActiveX component for windows platform for printing purpose, same way we can use platform specific component for printing... (for linux, unix, sun solaris etc...)

Its simple, first of all break ur data in terms of pages. Write the logic in one JSP.
suppose i have jsp PrintReport.jsp , for page 1 url will PrintReport.jsp?page=0 ... so on
get the page parameter in JSP
String page="";
if(request.getParameter("page")!=null)
page=request.getParameter("page");
get the rowcount from the Result and assume records per page is 100
if u have 1000 rows then 10 pages u have to serve
StartRowNumber=page*recordsPerPage
EndRowNumber=StartRowNumber+recordsPerPage
Execute a SQL query , select * from table where rownum between
StartRowNumber and EndRowNumber
Provide google like pageNumbers in ur HTML page
ie 1 2 3 4 5 6 ..10
Regarding printing , Create HTML button called 'print' and add Javascript ' window.print()' on clicking it.

I have a client requirement in which the colums are to be alligned vertically instead of being displayed horizontallty which is the default format in obiee.
Can anyone help me in achieving this requirement .

Change the columns as rows and rows as columns in the pivot view properties.You can display all the columns as rows and data as columns.
If you want display the column data in sections place required columns in section .

Hi,
How to send the output to PDF format in reports 6i? I given Mode = BITMAP.
DESTYPE = File, DESFORMAT = PDF, DESNAME = C:\x.pdf.
Report is running fine. But PDF file not generated. I don't know what i missed. Any one can help this?

Do you get this problem only for DESFORMAT=PDF ?
Test with :
DESFORMAT = RTF, DESNAME = C:\x.rtf
or
DESFORMAT = HTMLCSS, DESNAME = C:\x.html
does it work ?
Check if DESNAME is modified in the reports itself.

How can we know the format of report

Developed a web application using java SDK.
How can we know the format of report that is is it a crystal report , PDF or excel or hyperling.
If it is crystal report then i use openDoc and the report is opened but if its a hyperlink or PDf i am not able to open the report .

Check the si_kind or so_progid property of object. You can use oInfoObject.getKind() to retrieve that.
a crystal report would return crystalreport a pdf would return pdf etc.

Issue is formating the report

Hi Experts,
My issue is formatting the report
the columns are like this (ex)
empno,ename,job,hiredate and so on
when the data populates in to report empno and hiredate should be aligned to center and ename,job should align to left
when i tried to do format through bex they are all bexstditem either aligned to left side or center or right side. because once we the set the properties to bexstditem it is applicable to whole bexstditem.but i want to split into two..

Select empno and go to Format in menu bar and do as follows.
Format>styles(SAPBexchatext)->modify>formatAlignment.
Here change to right or left etc..

Then you set something like this.

I use =Format(Sum([MyTime])/(24*60*60),"hh:nn:ss"), but it does not work if the hours more than 24 hours, since the format is for the time format for the day.
I need the result shows more than 24 hours, because I want to show how many hours and minutes from my seconds value.
I can use [h]:mm:ss for Excel that it gives me the total hours more than 24 hours.
I tried to use the following to my text box
Int((sum(MyTime)) / 3600) & Format(Int((sum(MyTime) / 60) Mod 60, "\:00") & Format(sum(MyTime) Mod 60, "\:00"),
but for some reason it only shows seconds part without minute and hour part of the value.

Incorrect date format on report instance

Hi,
I have a problem (well a question) relating the the instance detail information behind a report instance in BusinessObjects Enterprise XI3.1 SP2 FP2.5. On one of my servers I can view the history of a report thorough InfoView and then select the link in the 'Status' colum. This displays the 'Instance details' page. On this page the 'Creation Time', 'Expiry', etc. are shown in the format dd/mm/yy hh:mm:ss. But, on my other server the same page shows these records as 'mm/dd/yy hh:mm:ss'.
I suspect that there is a server setting to be made somewhere, but where?
Any ideas please?

Found it. I run my SIA under a service account and not a user account. This service account was using the wrong Regional settings. When changed to the correct Regional settings the reports showed the dates in the correct format.
