Formatting check template

This is not exactly a HRMS issue but wanted to check for any inputs as BI publisher forum is not pretty active.
As part of developing the check template using BI Publisher 10x (Word 2010), I have a table of 6X6 (rowsxcolumns). The cells starting from 2nd row to 5th row are merged and another table is created in this place with a repeating group. This means, the no. of rows this 2nd table would have is dynamic (based on the results)
Because of the layout requirement, I need vertical lines drawn for each of the columns in table 1 but excluding Row 1 and Row 6 (these are sort of headers). Is there a way to achieve this?
I tried using "Draw Shapes" and inserting vertical lines in the positions I want. But since this shape is of constant length and 2nd table contains dynamic rows, it isn't working if it has fewer/greater no. of rows.
Any ideas would be highly appreciated.

there is certain limitation in here.. which will be addressed in future release :) hopefully.
But for time being, the workaround and other options we have rightnow are not 100% fool-proof solution :)
you got to bend the requirement little bit for this :) and achieve what you can get as of now.

"Always Use Selected Format" check box in line items report

Hi Experts,
I have an issue in ECC 6.0.
From the transaction code FBL1N (Vendor Line Items) I am trying to export the report to spreadsheet by selecting the option List> Export>Spreadsheet then I have selected "Always Use Selected Format" check box. But if I execute the same report again I am not getting this option "Always Use Selected Format". Please let me how can we retrieve that option. Is there any possibility to get that option again either functionally or technically. I would like to know all the possible ways to get this option again.

In one my thread Mr. Frank has replied as follows. I believe he has solved this.
Hope this may be really helpful.
The problem with the spreadsheet download is at one point, users have selected their default file type.
That said, SAPGUI is working as it should. (gui710)
Question though is how do we reset the values so they get the ?Select Spreadsheet Format? popup again.
The following steps should be performed :
- Call transaction SE38, enter program SALV_BS_ADMIN_MAINTAIN, and press F8.
- Follow the parameters below :
- Select ?DELETE? on the Actions Group
- Select ?DETAILED SELECTION? on the General Data :
- On Client - your number
- User : <user name>
-Hit EXECUTE.
-Press ENTER on the POPUP
- If there is an entry in the report that will need to be deleted. Also, make sure that the entry you will delete (for the user) has a value of GUI_ALV_XML_VER on field ?Parameter? .
- Select the line and hit the DELETE icon .
- Press ?Y? to continue delete. Press ENTER on the popup.
- Then EXIT all the way out of the program.
NOTE : When you run program SALV_BS_ADMIN_MAINTAIN, make sure they are out of any program that they are using for download.

I need to do Format checking (like Arial Font, Bold etc) for set of Excel files in a Folder. Do we have any tool for that?

Hi Kiran,
As far as I know, Microsoft doesn't provide such kind of tools. But If you're familiar with Excel development, you can create your own VBA code or other kind of application(e.g. .Net application) to automate the Excel workbooks in the folder. Use the VBA
code or applications to access the Excel object model to check the cell format.
For example, use this vba code to check if cell A1 is bold:
Sheet1.Range("A1").Font.Bold

Output Format as Template Parameter

Can this be done?
Some reports users need in both PDF and Excel format. Generally, same template can not produce nice output in both formats, and has to be adjusted for each one. However, some adjustments (like suppressing headers) could be made within the same template if we had the Format in available in the template.
What we can do is to create a regular parameter with several possible format options and use it in the template. But this looks a bit silly, because user would have to select the same parameter twice.

There is a property that can be set to suppress headers and footers when the output is in HTML/Excel - the name escapes me right now but please check the docs and the UI.
I think this would allow you to have a single template rather than supporting output specific templates.

Bank account formats - checks

Dear all,
Does someone have any idea how I can see how the format of the bank accounts are checked in SAP? (for different bank countries)?
I need to clean a list with bank accounts so their format is accepted by SAP when I upload them.
Is there any possibility to do some kind of simulation check on an Excel list?
I found T005, but that's a bit vague "maximum length without gaps = 18" not?
How about the bank keys? How can I know if there is a logic behind the bank key structure for a certain country? How do I know which format/length the bank key needs to have?

This is what sap documentation for bank keys says:

Formatting sheet template

Hi,
when I create an EPM report I can add the formatting sheet by simply clicking on the View Formats icon and the new sheet is generated. Is the new sheet generated based on a template that I can find and alter? In other words can I create a template that the EPM will use every time I let it add the formatting sheet to an Excel woorkbook?

Format check for each column in csv file

i want to find out how to check each column value is correct or not while uploading flat file(csv).
after uploading to internal table,
it should display error record and line no of the record.
ex matnr(18) type c,
werks(4) type c.
if we input matnr value more than 18 characters in csv file,
the entire record of internal table should be displayed in log file.
it should validate before sap database validations.

Since the file format is csv, while uplaoding the data to the program using the function module, the importing FILE FORMAT is 'ASC' and not 'DAT'.
For this the Internal table should contain only one filed of type C length (255 or 1024, upto you).
Then after this using SPLIT command you will push into another Internal table.
This is where you have to perform the validations.
In my opinion instead of checking the number of characters, chcek whether the material or plant exists in SAP or not?
This is because you have already fixed the filed length of material to 18 charecters, obvious when you try to move a variable with more than 18 charecters to this filed, it will automatically truncate and take only 18 charecters..

Hello, I am looking for a programmatic way to check phone number formats in my database using SQL. The phone numbers MUST be one of 2 formats:
XXX-XXX-XXXX or (XXX)XXX-XXXX
I want to return the row if they are NOT one of these formats.

If spaces are not invalid as long as the rest meets the format, two parens and a hyphen or two hyphens (i.e. the second one could be valid, but not the third and fifth) then use replace to get rid of spaces first and nvl to deal with nulls like:

Many a times, i encountered one problem that, How do we check whether the input by user is in correct format or not?
While using SWING, i'm placing one text box and is prompting user to enter "Username". But user just typed some numeric value and then submitted. Then i got a exception.
Without catching this exception, is there any class that provide me the facility to check the format before submitting itself?

BDS - Change the format of template

Hello everyone,
I am trying to use BDS for calling a word doc from my screen.
When I pass any existing Doc_id to FM 'CL_BDS_DOCUMENT' , it opens a word template. I wish to change the format of this template(or rather create a new one). Where and how should I do this?

Checking template when uploading PDF

Hi,
we are using interactive forms in ECC system.
The interactive form is generated and populated online then saved in local directory.
Then PDF is opened, data is entered offline and saved again.
We then upload file to system to update database.
We are intending to do this in mass process (10 pdfs).
We want to be able to check that PDF that is uploaded is based on the right template befor calling transformation ID to get data for update.
Is there a method to do this ?

Every check box should be a parameter of the report, e.g. a parameter with value Y or N.
Use the parameters in the format trigger of each field, like:
