Formatting HTML in DWCS3 for Print Output

MacOS 10.5.1
DW CS3
I am creating a calendar page with just a single week for a
school that can be viewed thru a browser & printed thru,
say, a laser printer. But to have the fonts readable, I needed to
make them larger. Consequently, when printing, the formatting is
messed up. Is there a way to address this?
Thanks, -Barry

Give it a print stylesheet -

  • Formatting a GregorianCalendar object for printing

    Hello,
I've got a JLabel in which I wish to put a GregorianCalendar object as a string. Now if I just print it out there it doesn't look as I wish... I basically just want the year, month and day to be there (and if possible in a format of my choice), not the time or the timezone.
How do I do this? Probably it's easy peasy but I've tried looking through the API and it didn't help me much in this matter so help is appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

    Use SimpleDateFormat.

  • "Modifying" book templates for (locally printed) output?

    Hi,
There have been many and varied threads on the subject of Apertures (in)ability to produce printed images beyond a single image per page/standard contact sheets and/or those that involve 'buying a book' [How good those books are is beyond the scope of this post ]
The light table can be used to place & scale multiple images for print output, but 'auto-scaling' seems to render this 'unreliable' at best..... [3rd parties have been 'recommended' as at least partial solutions to this problem]
It seems to me that access to the 'templates' that make up the 'book themes' would be a good idea - Darn, if I could simply double the page size from 8.5 x 11 to 17 x 22 I'd be pretty happy! [Portrait would also be really nice, but that's another story.]
Does anyone know where the 'specs' for the books are located? - If we could change the page size it seems to me we'd be home free - AP already allows us to resize photo boxes within the page and then print locally.......
    Comments?
    Cheers,

    1) Try the couple of templates here.
    2) Click on the cog and choose Save Page->As New Document Master
    3) Not in Aperture - unfortunately it's design/layout tools have a few essential bits missing. AFAIK the only way to do this is to close Aperture and edit the plist files for the book template design - not for the faint hearted! You could possibly create correctly sized blank design element 'spacers' in photoshop and add them to the design as images, not sure how well that would work!

  • Crystal Reports for SAP Print Output requirements like Sales Order O/P

    Hello,
Has anybody used Crystal Reports for Sales Order or Invoice Print Output type requirements?
Typically these outputs get triggered via Output Management Configuration on Save of a Sales Order or Configuration.
Traditionally in the Output Management configuration of say Sales Order, we can specify the "Output Program" and the "Sapscript" or "Smart Form" or "Adobe Form".
How do we tell SAP t trigger a Crystal Report output if it is a feasible way to go?
Also can anybody tell what is SAP's strategic direction for Print Output requirements?

Do you have answers for your questions? If so, could you please share?

  • Snippets in Printed Output

    Hi,
    I am using RH9 and Word 2007 .
I have created several snippets and for the most part the formatting appears correctly in the printed output.
The topic has a CSS attached and I manually added the CSS to the snippet as suggested in one of the posts here.
The problem is with the 'Normal' style - all other styles appear correctly in the printed output.
Looking at the Style Inspector in Word I can see that the Normal Style appears with some Text Level Formatting - if you clear this then everything is displayed correctly. Other text in the same topic marked as normal in RH9 appears correctly in Word.
So the question is does anyone know where the text marked as normal in the snippet is getting the text level formatting from and how do I fix it?
    TIA
    Morven

    Hi Peter,
    I found a thread here from Jan 15 2011:
rh8: Snippets: CSS styling - how is it done?
"In addition to Peter's answer, you can manually add a style sheet to a snippet. The style sheet is not used in the output, but you can select styles in the regular way.
A snippet is just a .htm file with a different extension. To add a style sheet, go to HTML mode and add <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css"  href="mycss.css" />
The snippet is in the root of your project, so be sure to use the correct path. Save and go to WYSIWYG mode. The snippet is now correctly formatted and you can use the styles from your css."
Now, what I understand from this is that style sheet is not used from the actual snippet but that this allows you to format the snippet and then it takes the formatting from the css which is attached to the topic.
The strange thing is that the mapping seems to be mostly correct (including tables!) except the text marked as 'Normal' - this appears as blue text which is how the font is formatted in RH.
I am outputing to a Word document and using a Word Template (Style Mapping.dot).
    Thanks

  • Can Adobe Flash be an alternate soft for Adobe Photoshop (for PRINT)? Is it possible to use Adobe Fl

Is it possible to use Adobe Flash instead of adobe photoshop for generating images for PRINT???
how about the CMYK settings? Will i have an issue with that? Please I need an expert at this too.

No. Flash would be one of the worst applications to substitute for Photoshop for creating art for print output. If you must use something other than Photoshop, you could use Illustrator, it is specifically designed to create artwork for print.
Flash has no direct method for outputting CMYK.

  • Are typekit fonts available for print?

Can typekit fonts be packaged up as per fonts on my desktop?

    Hello patcsant,
Thanks for your interest in Typekit.  The Typekit Services Agreement does not permit Typekit desktop fonts to be transferred to another user or computer that isn’t already licensed for that font. This means that anyone you wish to share the document with (e.g. a colleague or a printer) needs to have their own license for the font, either through Creative Cloud or as a traditional desktop license.
You can read more on packaging fonts here:
    http://help.typekit.com/customer/portal/articles/1166052
Synced font data may be embedded in PDF and other digital documents, though. Creating a PDF file is, in most cases, the best and most reliable way to ensure typographic fidelity in documents destined for print output.
I hope that this helps; let me know if you have any other questions. Best,

Hint: if u have been to developer.java.sun site then there is an option printable page or print view option on the left
On selection of this u get to see a page where unnecessary data is not shown.

  • Formatting printer output for dotmatrix printer

    Hi Experts,
i'm trying to format the output of the EPSON LQ-870 dot matrix printer to print the output in the paper size height 280 mm & width 210 mm.The device type i used for my output device is EPESCP2.For the first page the header and line items are coming correctly. But for the second page onwards, there is some space is coming between each line items. In third page, the header is coming little bit down from the required location. My page size is little bit less than the normal A4 size. How to rectify this?
Points will be rewarded if helpful.......
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello,
I created a condition table '550 - Shipping point/plant'. Then I created an access sequence 'ZSH1' and assigned this condition table 550 to it.
In the output determination procedure, the procedure 'V10000 - Header output' has the condition type PL02 - BOL: Single Delivery assigned to it.
    The assignments look like:
    Step       Counter         Cond Type
    10               1                LD00     Delivery Note
    20               2                PL00     Packing list
    30               3                PL01     Planning Slip
    40               4                PL02     BOL: Single Delivery
In Assign output procedures, the entry corresponding to delivery type 'LF' is:
Del Type                O/P procedure                       O/P Type
LF Delivery                    V10000  Header Output             LD00Delivery Note
When I try to enter a new condition record using VV21, it does not show up this key combination 'Shipping point/Plant'.
Can someone tell me if I am missing some customization?

  • Hw can I generate XY graphs directly in a vector data format for printing ie pdf

A further question re. Printing of Graphs
There are many similar questions but none where the answers are acceptably adiquite or two or three were the link was broken,
"Developer exchange forums have been moved" and a pointer to the new
site, unfort it was hard to find or guess the rest of the link.
    So here is my angle on this problem;
    So far I have tried;
Using property node: "App.  Printing.Default Printer" to select the printer to use, then
    Using Report Functions to print controls;
New Report, to generate a new report reference
    Set Report Orientation
    Set Report Margins
    Set Report Font
    Set Report Header Text
    Set Report Font
    Set Report Footer Text
    loop for each page
Set Report Footer Text,     With page number
Append Control Image to Report,      several times
    New Report Page
Until the end of the last page
    Print Report
    Dispose Report
Initially using existing XY-Graph controls from the front panel.  These
are on a page of a Tab control to hide these controls while not in use
and allow them to be hidden while generating the printout.
Unfortunately when this page is hidden any graph scales set to
autoscale don't, (normally don't need to and would otherwise be a waste
of processor time), resulting in graph plots going off scale or
becoming a line along the axis.
An issue is that what is printed appears to be read from the screen, so resolution is much
lower than required for for printing, resulting in rather pixellated
printed versions. These prints will usually be emailed, so tried the
pdf995 "printer driver" but the resulting pdf file size is rather large.
Currently trying Plot-XY on a much larger picture so as to get
adequate resolution for printing, however suspect this will result in
much larger pdf files and probably cause other problems.
The preferred solution in this case will probably be to generate print
output, instead of based on raster images (ie jpg or png), but on a
vector format, maybe via postscript or directly in pdf format.
Similar graphs currently printed from Excel via pdf995
(or OpenOffice) result in files around 20 kb per page. these can be printed at any size
(at least upto 64 times) without becoming pixellated, so assume these
    are vector based.
Currently a page with 4 XY Graph controls uses around 40 to 45 kb per
page but resolution is poor and overcoming that may push file size up
to 150 to 200 kb per page, and the whole job can be 50 to 100 pages.
Are there any functions to generate XY graphs directly in a vector data format preferably in pdf or via PostScript format.
    Cheers
    Darryl

    Hi Darryl,
I was able to reproduce the issue you were seeing, in which a report generation was taking up a large amount of space per page in a PDF utility. I found; however, using my attached VI (notice that it is set to *.png) and the CutePDF utility (free download at http://www.cutepdf.com/) I was able to get a per page size of about 10 KB. Also using the png I found that the image quality seemed to be quite high.
Please try incorporating this solution into your application and see if it reduces your file sizes.
Thanks and have a good evening!

  • Formatted HTML output with Spry regions - is it possible?

I have recently begun using the XML export extension in
conjunction with an Access database to output dynamic data into a
page with a Spry master/detail setup. So far, my simple example is
going great, but I've run into a snag that I need some help with.
To explain what I'm doing - it's a simple article page with
the list of articles on the left with the title and date and the
article title and full contents on the right hand side. So far it's
all working very well, updating in real time when I click an
article title on the left. The problem is the output with this one
field which stores not only text, but also HTML formatting that is
generated by a wysiwyg editor used on the article creation side of
this little app. This HTML formatted content is the article body
and is stored in a field named the same - "body". With traditional
ASP, the HTML formatting displays as expected and all is well, but
with Spry, it doesn't output formatted HTML, but instead shows the
content and HTML code together as text. How can I get this one
field ("body") to be output so all the HTML formatting is shown?
This is my simple page example. Click through and you'll see
    what I mean.
    http://www.shoestodyefor.com/ajax.asp
Here's the section of code in question regarding the output
on that right hand panel where the body is displayed for each
    article:
    <div spry:detailregion="ds1">
    {title}<br />
    {entryDate}<br />
    <br />
    {body}
    /div>
Is it possible to have that {body} section shown so the
dynamically created HTML code from the wysiwyg editor is displayed
    correctly?

    Steve Skinner wrote:

The version of Spry that ships with Dreamweaver CS3 (Spry
    1.4) doesn't
support the type of output created by the XML Export
    extension.
This issue has been corrected in Spry 1.5, but no plans have
    been made
public for integrating Spry 1.5 into Dreamweaver CS3. You
    would need to
    download Spry 1.5 from
    http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/spry/.
    Details
of how to hand-code the fix for output from XML Export are
    here:

  • Formatting for print

I have read about using CSS for printing out your pages so
    that you dont
have to create 2 copies of each page you want printed.. but i
    cant find how
to actually put it to use..
I have added the necessary code to my CSS file.
I have changed the media type to media="print"
and all i keep reading is that this allows you to have the
    same page
    formatted for print..
But how exactly do i call the same page for print? do i add a
    link to the
page saying click here to print? if so what woudl the link
    actually point
    to?
or by just including the right code, when the end-user choses
    to click print
within there browser that knows to display the same page
    using the
    print.css?

The browser display will always be the same, whether you have
    a print CSS
    option or not.
    The arrangement is -
You have one style sheet for your screen layout say
    "screenstyle.css" and
one for your print layout say "printstyle.css"
You ad both style sheets to your page code -
    <link href="screenstyle.css" rel="stylesheet"
    type="text/css" media="screen"
    />
    <link href="printstyle.css" rel="stylesheet"
    type="text/css" media="print"
    />
When a user views your page on their screen it is laid out
    according to your
    screenstyle.css style sheet.
When the user prints the page, the printed output is laid out
    according to
    you printsyle.css style sheet.
    Hope this helps
