Formatting in mail?

Are you able to underline, italicize, bold, or otherwise format your email?
Is there an App that I can add that can do this?
Thanks

Tiger Mail does not include an HTML composer or such a formatting feature set.
With Tiger Mail, you can use the HTML composer of choice to compose complex or simple HTML, etc. saving the document when finished. Open the saved document with Safari and after confirming all formatting is correct, at the menu bar go to File and select Mail Contents of This Page.
The rendered HTML will be copied and placed in a new Mail.app message and sent in its entirety.
For a simple numbered or bulleted list, you must do this with Text Edit, etc. as you have been since I don't believe there is another way to do so.

  • Formating the mail body

    Hi to all
    Is it possible to format the mail body that we create using FM 'SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1' like a rich user interface?
    Kindly suggest.
    Thanks & Regards
    Vipin

    Its possible to give html tags in the body internal table thereby make it a rich user interface. For html you may need to use document type as HTM.
    I 've given an example in this link. Please have a look.

    Hello mnorton,
    Perhaps this article can be of assistance. As the article suggest, I would test it out first by emailing a copy of it to yourself.

  • Cannot get formatted e-mail signature

    I am using the current version of Thunderbird e-mail. I tried using a .htm file for my signature but the font formatting was not held properly. Then I tried creating a signature within an open new message, but when I highlighted my name and selected a different font for it from the drop-down menu, the font did not change. So, I cannot figure out how to get a properly formatted e-mail signature to use.

    Charter is my provider. For some reason the port got changed. I tried deleting my account and reinstalling it manually and rebooting a few times until I found the incoming mail server port was different than my laptop in Outlook. I changed the port to match my laptop. I didn't do anything with the outgoing mail server port. It seems to be working. It lags my laptop by several minutes when retrieving e-mail. Not sure if that is normal.
    Thanks, I should have updated on my progress.

  • How do I format Mac mail for gmail

    How do I format Mac mail for gmail?

    You really have no way of controlling how the email will look on someone else's computer. I find, with email, the simpler the better. Block paragraphs (no indent on the first line) and an extra line between paragraphs.
    If you want formatting control, I'd recommend using a word processor, printing to PDF and sending that.
    Best of luck.

  • DECODING MAIL FROM WEB SERVER IN PLAIN TEXT FORMAT(THE MAIL BEING SENT BY LABVIEW APPLICATION)

    Hi All
    I have a labview application that send mail every hour automatically.
    But actually the mail has to be decoded from the web server(by another application).But now when that application decode the data in the mail(that is send by labview application)its getting some funny characters inside that can not be detected by the decoding application
    (When open the mail no problem.)But actually our goal is to decode the mail from the web server.
    Why the extra characters are appearing when decoding from the server?Is it because of the HTML format?
    Is there option to send the mail in plain text format(not like attachment)?
    In outlook we can change the setting (tools->options->send->mail sending format->....here we can set as HTML format/Plain Text format)
    Like that at the sending time can i chenge the sending option as plain text format in my labview application?
    Thanks...

    smercurio_fc wrote:
    Then it sounds to me like this other application is not decoding the attachment correctly, especially if you looked at the attachment yourself after you received it and verified it's correct.
    No, no, smercurio. This is charcter encoding here. In older versions of LabVIEW you could specify what character encoding to use when sending an email through the SMTP VIs. But that gave problems since people in certain locales used certain characters that where not transfered right when the wrong encoding was specified, and that encoding stuff is not understood by most people at all, so the wrong selected encoding was rather the rule than the exception. In newer versions of LabVIEW do the SMTP VIs handle the encoding automatically based on the currently used locale on the system.
    This change is documented in the Upgrade Notes of LabVIEW and probably happened around LabVIEW 7.1 or 8.0.
    A decent mail client will recognize the encoding and convert it back to whatever is necessary before presenting it to the user. The OPs posters server application obviously isn't a smart mail client but probably just some crude text file parser that has no notion of proper mail character encoding and how to deal with it.
    I would suppose that there is a chance to dig into the SMTP VIs itself and try to manipulate or disable that encoding altogether in there but that may open a whole can of worms somewhere else. The proper way would be to process the incoming mail by a character encoding aware mail client before passing it to the text parser. On Unix setting up something like this would be fairly trivial.

  • Can't import LDIF format exported mail address to Address Book

    New to iMac and trying full migration from PC
    I have a LDIF format address file (exported from Comcast's Webmail in Netscape Communicatore LDIF format). Can't import the file to my new iMAC's Address Book.
    Getting the following msg: No Cards Added. No importable cards were found.
    It is a small file, there are records in the file- I opened the file with MS Notepad. I have opend the file with TextEdit as well and see the records in the file. Records have givenname:, sn:, mail:. xmozillanickname:, description:.
    I've checked the FAQ, all support pages and there doesn't seem to be a solution.
    Is this ture?
    iMAc   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

    I found a solution.
    When I tried importing the mailboxes, I was selecting "Files in mbox format," because that's what they are, right? No. Apparently, I needed to select "Apple Mail" instead.
    That imports everything under an Import folder, and then I can select the emails and drag them to the appropriate inboxes (after re-setting up the accounts).
    Ugh, this is not easy. But I'm getting close.
    (Oh, step 6 will be to clear off Time Capsule and start a new backup. But only after I'm convinced things are running right. Obviously, I will be looking at other options for catastrophic backup in the future.)
    Another note: I first tried copying my entire user folder to my external drive. But after a few minutes of copying, that failed, saying that I didn't have permission to copy one or more files. It didn't tell me what it was, or ask whether to skip it. It just failed. So that's why I was left to selectively pick files.
    Another lesson learned: Know your Time Capsule password. If you rely on Keychain for this, and your machine dies, you're going to have a hard time recovering (if it's possible).

    I tried passing the MIME strucutre in the same way as in your blog, but i am not getting the output in a proper way, i am getting the attachment but no content in email.
    i tired with the various combinations ofr MIME formats, the content doesnt come only attachments appear.
    have passed the obligatory lines also and (content type is multipart with boundary detail)
    Lot of the email notifations to the customers have CC and BCC fields and multiple attachmetns genreteated in mapping like HTML, XSL etc....this is imp part of our design and we dont want to use any module developemnt for this.

    I have difficulty opening "Word email attachments" that contain "Rich Text Format" using my ipod touch under the MAIL function. For normal Word documents, I have no issue at all. Can anyone help here? Thank you.

    RTF contains alot of extra formatting junk that you need to be aware of, depends what you want to do with the files afte reading them in but JAVA has its own RTF parser standard. Be warned its not full proof.....

  • TRYING to format for mailing labels.

    Hello all, I'm having a problem I'm hoping you could possibly help me figure out. I bought labels from office max today with the intent of formatting my word processor (in this case pages) so that I can just type up the names and addresses and print them out on the label sheet. well stupid, naive little me figured there'd be instructions on how to format your word processor so that the labels printed out correctly... and there wasn't. so i've been trying to figure out a way on my own to format the page correctly, but I can't seem to get anything to work right. I tried creating a table, but the actual page of labels has a space in between each column of labels, where as the table does not, which would ultimately off-set the second and third column of the labels.
    I know it has been suggested numerous amount of times (believe it or not I actually tried to research this question before posting) that anyone attempting to create mailing labels just use the address book application... but the reason I CAN'T do that is because I don't actually have a printer that is compatible with my mac right now. I need to type up the mailing labels and then e-mail them to a PC in order to get them printed out, therefore rendering the address book method useless to me.
    If anyone has ANY suggestions of what I can do (that doesn't involve me immediately purchasing a new printer... ), I would greatly appreciate it.
    I hope this thread made SOME kind of sense... if not, i'd be more than happy to clarify anything you are confused about.
    Thank you!

    There are several ways you can go about this.
    1. Most labels come with Word templates or downloadable Word templates. Simply open those in Pages.
    2. Make a table with extra cells for the thin spaces between the labels and skinny those down to match the spaces. ie You have big fat cells for the actually labels and thin narrow empty ones for the gaps.
    3. Make a floating Text box the size of one label, format with dummy text just the way you like it.
    +Menu > Format > Advanced > Define as Placeholder text+
    You can now drag and drop snippets of text, the addresses etc onto those and it will replace them matching the style of the existing text.
    You duplicate that text box into position of the other labels by clicking on it with the command kety held down, then drag copy it up or across with the option and shift keys held down. Fine tune the positions with:
    +Inspector > Metrics > Position+

  • Receiver Mail Adapter: Formatting the mail content

    Dear All,
    I'm using a receiver mail adapter. I would like to format the content of the mail using the contents of the XML message. For example:
    XML Message
    <Order>
      <OrderID>1234</OrderID>
      <CustomerName>Sandeep Joseph</CustomerName>
      <NetValue>7467.99</NetValue>
      <Link>http://locahost:7000?OrderID=1234</Link>
    </Order>
    Mail Content
    Dear Approver,
    Please approve the Order - 1234, Customer - Sandeep Joseph
    Link: http://locahost:7000?OrderID=1234
    Thanks,
    Are there any modules which would help formatting to this extend? Or any other mechanism?
    Thanks,
    Sandeep

    The easiest means is to use XSL mapping and create the Content Type as HTML and emded the cotent within HTML tags.
    One such example is shown by Praskash in this blog,
    /people/community.user/blog/2006/09/07/email-reporting
    /people/community.user/blog/2006/09/08/email-report-as-attachment-excelword
    If you use the Mail Package option then you can also wite a UDF in your mapping that will populate the content field. For every newline you can use the java new line \n and so on.

    What you need to do is in your MimeBodyPart set the content to text/html:
    String bodyText = "What I want <b>bolded</b>.";
    MimeBodyPart text = new MimeBodyPart();
    text.setDisposition(Part.INLINE);
    text.setContent(bodyText, "text/html");
    you could also try:
    text.setContent(bodyText, "text/richtext");

    regards,
    VIshal Goel

    Hi Vishal,
    Please try below format, so that it may work.
    FORMAT("b", "Title:") %TOKEN1%
    FORMAT("b", "Posted By:") %TOKEN2%
    LINK("View Full Message", "%LINK123%")
    The above mentioned will work only when HTML Mail option is selected on the user account level under Account properties.
    Please let me know if the issue still exists.
    Also Please go through the below link, it will be useful for you.

  • Date format in Mail ToDo list

    I would like to enter due dates in my ToDo list in British format.  The display format is fine.  Setting Preferences and restarting the computer doen't help.  There is a file called ToDo.strings which might be relevant, but can anyone tell me how I force this change?

    +initWithDateFormat:@"%b %1d %Y" allowNaturalLanguage:NO];+
    +initWithDateFormat:@"%1m/%1d/%Y" allowNaturalLanguage:NO]
    autorelease];+
    As I said, I'm not that knowledgeable, but I can read - it seems to me all the examples given assume the English language (month first), so have you tried:
    %1d/%1m/%Y
    I am asking because you said:
    +I have in my mail template the string "apple-content-type="date" apple-date-format= *"%b %1d, %Y"".*+
    From what I just looked at, "b" or "m" is the month, so if that is what you have entered, it'll show "March 2, 2010"; however - at least in Germany - the date is displayed as 2. März 2010 (I know the Viennese have their own way of doing things, but..
    The other thing that puzzled me is the fact that it says "allowNaturalLanguage: No" - again, I have no idea, but logic would dictate that yes, of course, you want the natural language which, in this case, would be German. Just a thought on this one.
