Formatting multiple values in ADF tree node

JDeveloper 11.1.2.2.0 -- WinXP
I have an ADF tree component that is bound to a table with two values per node level.
The results look like:
Fruit 1234
    -- VineGrown 5678
       -- Grapes 4567
           -- Red 1234
           -- Green 56
Veggie 4567
   -- Root 45
      -- Carrot 34
      -- Potato 987What I want to be able to do is format the outputText so that it will end up looking more like "Fruit :: Total 1234"
The issue is that the EL of #{node} displays both the node level value and the number as one item. This is in the facet nodeStamp.
If I try and get more specific with the EL, I can separate out the Uses number by doing #{node.Uses} but I can't get the node name to still be dynamic for each level.
My binding options for node are shown as:
node.Type
node.GrownLocation
node.Group
node.Value
node.Uses
Of course setting the first #{node} to any of these more specific values doesn't display at all for the node levels that don't correspond to just that one level.
Ideally the EL line would look something like:
<af:outputText value="#{node.name} ::  Total: #{node.Uses}" id="ot3"/>where node.name could be any one of the levels: Type, GrownLocation, Group, etc.
Is this something that pathStamp would be used for? I couldn't really figure out how pathStamp worked from the docs.
Thanks for any help. Hopefully this makes some sense.

You can try something like this:
<af:column id="c1">
<af:outputText value="#{node.name} ::  Total: #{node.Uses}" id="ot3" rendered="#{node.name != null}"/>
<af:outputText value="#{node.Type} ::  Total: #{node.Uses}" id="ot3" rendered="#{node.Type!= null}"/>
<af:outputText value="#{node.GrownLocation} ::  Total: #{node.Uses}" id="ot3" rendered="#{node.GrownLocation!= null}"/>
<af:outputText value="#{node.Group} ::  Total: #{node.Uses}" id="ot3" rendered="#{node.Group!= null}"/>
</af:column>So the rendered property will make sure that the correct node is displayed according to each level.
Hope this helps.

  • Highlight an ADF tree node when it is clicked

    Hello every onei ,
    Does anybody has any idea how to highlight an ADF tree node when it is clicked ?
    Here is my scenario:-
    I have a popup which has a tree component on left and when we click on any node in the tree we have to display the corresponding page on right side.
    As the tree is common for all pages in the popup, i created an XHTML template with tree. All the treenode pages will use this template to display the tree.This template i am using to implement in rest of the pages.
    So when i click any link on this tree will load the corresponding JSP. But i am loosing focus. i mean selected node is not highlighting. Because we are loading the entire target page with template.
    Could any let me know how to highlight the tree node ?
    The Main problem is we are not using ADF controllers. We are using managed beans, these managed beans attached to the JSPX pages.
    Kindly guide me if any one knows solution.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Sai Sravan.P

    Hello Sai,
    I am afraid you have posted your question in the wrong forum. This forum is about Oracle On Track Communication, a next-generation social enterprise collaboration product.
    Please re-post your question in an ADF related forum and I am sure someone will be able to answer.
    Thank you,
    Ernst.

  • Programmatically getting ADF Tree node value(Version 11.1.2.0.0)

    Hi Forum,
    My Jdeveloper version 11.1.2.0.0
    and i am using Fusion Web Application (ADF) Template.
    In my .jspx page i have added ADF Tree.
    Now i want to get node value from backing bean.
    My java code is
    public void selectevent(SelectionEvent evt) {
    RichTree tree = (RichTree)evt.getSource();
    TreeModel model = (TreeModel)tree.getValue();
    RowKeySet rowKeySet = evt.getAddedSet();
    Object key = rowKeySet.iterator().next();
    model.setRowKey(key);
    JUCtrlValueBinding nodeBinding = (JUCtrlValueBinding)model.getRowData();
    if(model.getDepth()==1){
    int empid = (Integer)nodeBinding.getAttribute("EmployeeId");
    when i click on second node the following error occured.

  • Skin Text of ADF Tree Node and Leaf separately

    Hi,
    Is it possible to skin a tree (ADF 11g), so that the text of a node is white on black, and text of a leaf is black on white?
    I know I can change the icons for a node and a leaf separately , but can't find how to change the styles of the text seperately.
    Groeten,
    HJH

    Hi,
    1. Thanks.. i did understand...I am creating a tree with region-countries-location... so when i drag and drop the region view as a tree ... I get a default code like this
    <af:tree value="#{bindings.RegionsView1.treeModel}" var="node"
    selectionListener="#{bindings.RegionsView1.treeModel.makeCurrent}"
    rowSelection="single" id="t1">
    <f:facet name="nodeStamp">
    <af:outputText value="#{node}" id="ot1" />
    </f:facet>
    </af:tree>
    In this i have used output text ... so how do i use the styleclass.... I am a new bie so can u also tel me how to use implement the same and alsohow to create a styleclass..........
    2. I have to display a seperate icons for parent node and leaf nodes.. can u tel me how to achieve this also...

  • ADF Tree Nodes Undisclose...

    Hi !. I have the following question about expanding or collapsing nodes...
    I have my own class ("NodoMapaDeSitio") that I use as my items to render my tree; so, the method "getRowData" returns an instance of "NodoMapDeSitio". Every time I click a node, the "varStatus.rowKey" returns me something like this:
    [0]
    [1]
    or
    if I press ina subNode [1,0] [1,1]...
    My question would be if it's possible to make integer vectors to build the children key's of a node in order to disclose them or undisclose them ?.
    In case that, that is possible, the following method ".setDisplayRowKey" would help me to expand certain nodes... But which method would help me to callapse them ?.
    Well Hope I was clear... Thankx

    Hi Timo... I solved it this way... I use the varStatus to obtain the key of the node which I pressed and I checked if that key is inside the discloseRowKeySet; if it is, I remove and collapse it !. The code is as follows...
    ArrayList lista = (ArrayList) this.objeto;
    RowKeySet rowKeySet = arbol.getDisclosedRowKeys();
    if(rowKeySet.contains(lista))
    rowKeySet.remove(lista);
    else
    rowKeySet.add(lista);
    AdfFacesContext.getCurrentInstance().addPartialTarget(this.arbol);
    AdfFacesContext.getCurrentInstance().partialUpdateNotify(this.arbol);

  • How can I get the adf-tree-node's attributes?

    I want get the attributes in the method of "selectionListener"?
    How can I do?
    I only know :
    RichTree treeId;
    RowKeySet keySet = treeId.getSelectedRowKeys();
    Thanks!

    You don't want to maintain a reference to the last selected node, but to the last selected path. Nodes within a tree are addressed using a TreePath, with contains references to each node from the root, down to a specific node. Look at the JavaDocs of javax.swing.tree.TreePath for more info.
    Also, JTree has getter/setter methods for the selectionPath.

  • Best approach -Tabs based ADF Tree left side navigation with Dynamic Regions with out UI Shell

    Hi,
    Somebody can help for the best approach to implement the following requirement.
    Req: When the user select the ADF Tree left side navigation menu, each menu will open as multiple tabs(Dynamic Tabs) in right side content area with out UI Shell Template.
    I completed the
    Step-1: From the Model project, I can able to render ADF Tree in the using view and view links. I can get the adf tree which is having 3 menu items. Each menu item having 2 sub menu's.
    I took each menu item as one(1) taskflow, each taskflow will have two(2) fragments.
    Total I have 3 task flows as Menu Items and 6 fragments for sub menu's.
    Step-2:  My question is How do I implement Tab based the ADF tree navigation (left side area to dynamic regions in content area) through dynamic regions? Please provide the steps in view layers.

    Than ks for your response.
    This is working fine for ADF Tree navigation with dynamic regions if the taskflow having only one fragment. if the taskflow having more than one fragments, this will not work. The following conditions are always satisfies one page fragment of either "employees" or "departments" task flow.  If the "employees" task flow have 2 page fragments, it's not work even you pass parameters through routers.
    public TaskFlowId getDynamicTaskFlowId() {
    if (currentTaskFlowID == null ||
    currentTaskFlowID.equalsIgnoreCase(“employees”)) {
    return TaskFlowId.parse(employeetaskFlowId);
    if (currentTaskFlowID != null &&
    currentTaskFlowID.equalsIgnoreCase(“departments”)) {
    return TaskFlowId.parse(departmetaskFlowId);
    return TaskFlowId.parse(employeetaskFlowId);
    My question is "Same use case with Dynamic Tabs" when the user click on any adf tree node.

  • Create URL with multiple values for one parameter

    Post Author: cbamberg
    CA Forum: General
    While I have no problems to create the URL to open a report with a single value for a parameter from my Java application, I don't know how to format multiple values for a parameter when I want to pass the "&prompt0=" value. The values I want to pass are numbers, not strings.
    Anyone can help?

    Hi gayatri,
    you need to select both the product id and custname.put a count on the prodid column and write a condition of count>1 and apply it.
    Thanks

  • Duplicate nodes in ADF Tree

    Duplicate Entries in ADF Tree
    Hi,
    Iam facing issue with ADF Tree representation. Getting content from DB. I've a table with self reference. Iam able to provide check box for each node. Following is the usecase of issue
    a->b->c->1.xml
    a->b1->c1->2.xml
    a->b2->c2->3.xml
    Issue 1: It's dispaling 3 a's at the first level. But it should display a once within that b,b1,b2 as sub levels.
    Even though it's showing 'a' three times, if we click on second & third 'a', first 'a' is effecting. Please suggest to filter duplicate entries while displaing. Following is code snippet of jspx.
    <af:tree value="#{bindings.ParentMDTopic1.treeModel}" var="node"
    selectionListener="#{bindings.ParentMDTopic1.treeModel.makeCurrent}"
    rowSelection="multiple" id="t1"
    partialTriggers="#{pageFlowScope.mBean.checkboxFlag.addValueChangeListener}">
    <f:facet name="nodeStamp">
    <af:group id="g1">
    <!-- <af:selectBooleanCheckbox
    label="Label 1" id="sbc2"
    valueChangeListener="#{pageFlowScope.mBean.checkBoxChange}"/> -->
    <af:selectBooleanCheckbox label="Label 1" id="sbc2"
    value="#{node.checkboxFlag}"
    autoSubmit="true"
    valueChangeListener="#{pageFlowScope.mBean.checkBoxChange}"/>
    <af:outputText value="#{node}" id="ot1"/>
    </af:group>
    </f:facet>
    </af:tree>
    Issue 2: Select/Deselect functionality. If we click on any node, the child nodes & sub levels till leaf nodes should be in select state. Similarly for deselect functionality.
    In order to acheve functionality, Created two transient attributes of boolean & string type. I tired to debug the ManagedBean, seems to be it's traversing to sublevels & changing the transient attribute. But while display it's not effeting. Please suggest a hint on this. It could be great if you provide some useful pointers to refer.
    Thanks in advance,
    Samba.

    Hi,
    I've provided Parent-Child relationship(Self-reference).
    Following is the table structure with primary/foreign key constraints.
    DELIVERY_VERSION_ID (PK)(FK)
    HIERARCHY_ID (PK)(FK)
    DOC_GUID (PK)
    PARENT (FK)
    CURRENTTITLE
    LANGUAGE
    Please let me know, if you have any comments on table structure.
    Following is the sample data in table
    DELIVERY_VERSION_ID     DOC_GUID Parent HIERARCHY_ID
    3               a     null     a_b_c
    3               b     a     a_b_c

  • Endless loop when clicking on ADF TreeTable Node with multiple Parents

    Using Jdev 11.1.2.2.0.
    I have been using the ADF Tree Table to render a parent/child relationship table(using EO's and VO's); this table allows a child node to have many parents. I've followed the example from Code Corner #32 "How to create a tree table from a single View Object and how to access selected rows" but my example is a little different. I have a Hierarchy Table that lists it's TopNode and then I have a Relationship (parent/child) table that includes the relationships for that hierarchy. I've created the ViewLinks between the Hierarchy VO and the Relationship VO and everything shows up fine in the ADF BC Tester.
    The tables look like the following (Note: the node 5 has multiple parents (4&3)
    Hierarchy Table:
    ID NAME TOPNODEID
    1 HIER1 1
    PARENTCHILDTABLE
    PARENT_ID CHILD_ID
    1 2
    1 3
    2 4
    4 5
    3 5
    -1 1
    The View Links I have setup are the (TopNodeID to ChildID... 1 to 1) as well as the (Child_Id to Parent_ID.. 1 to *).
    I added a tree table to a jsf page; I setup the bindings correctly with the Hierarchy vo as the top level object and the relationship VO as the parent/child (self referencing) table.
    However, when I start expanding some of the nodes at runtime in the JSF page and when I click on the child 5 an hour glass appears and it seems to be in an endless loop. Has anyone seen this before or anyone know why this gets into an endless loop.
    Edited by: user623583 on Aug 21, 2012 7:26 AM

    No exceptions occur but I was able to turn on logging (oracle.adf*) and this shows up. This is only a portion of what gets logged as it seems to log the same thing over and over while in the endless loop. The loop is intermittent too; it doesn't occur all the time. It seems to occur when I click on one of the duplicate nodes OR try to expand one of the duplicate nodes and/or one of their parents.

    Version: Jdeveloper 11.1.2.1.0
    how to get programmatically tree node value.
    i have tried but cann't read value from selected node.
    please help me.
    here is my application creation steps:
    1. New Application
    2. Fusion Web Application (ADF) Template
    3. Create View Object VOTreeMst
    Query:
         Select Department_Name,Department_Id
         From Departments
    4. Create View Object VOTreeChd
    Query:
         Select Last_Name,Employee_Id,Department_Id
         From Employees
    5. Create View Link VLTreeMstChd
         VOTreeMst.DepartmentId=VOTreeChd.DepartmentId
         And Add to Application Module
    6. Create page page1 in ViewController
         New-->Web Tier-->JSF/Facelets-->Page
         Selected Document Type JSP XML
    7. Drag VOTreeMst1 From Data Controls into page1
    and select Tree-->ADF Tree
    8. ADD java Code into selection Listener
    public void nodeSelect(SelectionEvent selectionEvent) {
    //original selection listener set by ADF
    String adfSelectionListener = "#{bindings.VOTreeMst1.treeModel.makeCurrent}";
    //make sure the default selection listener functionality is preserved.

    i need to get value from "Web Tier->JSF\Facelets->page"
    is there any help please?

    You should try Franks generic selectionListener http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/adf/learnmore/25-generic-tree-selection-listener-169164.pdf. For help on hoe to get the selected tree node data check http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/adf/learnmore/26-get-selected-tree-node-data-169165.pdf

  • ADF Tree Component Iterating through all nodes upon ONE node click...

    Hi to all !. My name is Agustin and I live far away... In Cordoba Argentina to be specific !. My doubt would be the following one: I wanted the other day to build a af:tree component and put in the NodeStamp an commandLink with a setActionListener... So as to get the selected Node... In this case, I have category of books... Let say DataBase, Cloud Computing, Web Development and so on... But the misterious thing happens when I click on one node, and the action method in my backing bean is executed one time per each node the Tree has... I notices this coz I made a System.out.println()... My idea would be to detect the user click event so as to update a Table... My code is as follows !...
    <af:tree value="#{backManager.listaCategoria}" var="cat"
    binding="#{backManager.tree1}" id="tree1">
    <f:facet name="nodeStamp">
    <h:commandLink binding="#{backManager.outputText1}" action="#{backManager.outputText1_action}" >
    <af:setActionListener from="#{cat}" to="#{backManager.selectedItem}" />
    <h:outputText value="#{cat.label}"
    binding="#{backManager.outputText2}"
    id="outputText2"/>
    </h:commandLink>
    </f:facet>
    </af:tree>
    and my backing bean is:
    public String ejecutarSeleccion()
    Categoria cat = (Categoria) this.selectedItem.getValue();
    System.out.println("Nombre: " + cat.getNombre());
    return null;
    This method is the action attribute from the command link !.
    the selectedItem is an attribute of the type SelectItem !.
    Where I would be making the mistake ?... Or should I implement the thing in a different way ?... Thankx ! :D

    Hi,
    its strange when you say it executes the action per each node in the tree. One thing tough I would change is to go from h:commandLink to af:commandLink as it allows you to set partialSubmit=true in which case a click on the tree doesn't refresh the whole tree. I then would add an f:attribute tag to the command link
    <f:attribute name="cat" value="#{cat.id}"/>
    On the command link I had the actionListener property pointing to a managed bean with a method like
    public void onTreeNodeAction(ActioneEvent actionEvent){
    RichCommandLink link = (RichCommandLink ) actionEvent.getUIComponent();
    Object catId = link.getAttributes().get("cat");
    // ... cast the catalog id to its type and you are ready to go
    Another option would be to use the SelectListener of the tree and don't use a command link at all. You respond to tree node selection similar to here

  • Programatically creating ADF Tree with nodes,child nodes & links?

    Hi,
    Currently I am using Build JDEVADF_11.1.1.3.PS2_GENERIC_100408.2356.5660. Please provide me detailed code for programatically creating ADF Tree with nodes, child nodes and links in it.
    Thanks,
    Vik

    You need to create a model for the tree. ADF has a build in model that you can use to build your own tree.
    This is what you need to write in your JSPX:
    <af:tree summary="Navigation" id="treeNav" value="#{pageFlowScope.treeNavigationBackingBean.model}"
               var="node" contextMenuSelect="true" rowSelection="single" fetchSize="30">
           <f:facet name="nodeStamp">
          <af:outputText id="txtText" value="#{node.text}"/>
        </f:facet>
    </af:tree>This is the code to retreive the model:
      public TreeModel getModel() {
        if(model == null)
            model = new ChildPropertyTreeModel(instance,"children");
        return model;
      }instance contains the actual tree. I build it in the constructor of my managed bean:
        public BeanTreeNavigation() {
          ArrayList<TreeItem> rootItems = new ArrayList<TreeItem>();
          TreeItem node1 = new TreeItem("Root node");
             ArrayList<TreeItem> level1 = new ArrayList<TreeItem>();
             TreeItem level1Node1 = new TreeItem("Level1 Node1");
              level1.add(level1Node1);
           node1.setChildren(level1);
           rootItems.setChildren(node1);
          this.setListInstance(rootItems);
          root = rootItems;
      public void setListInstance(List instance) {
        this.instance = instance;
        model = null;
      }The TreeItem class is not a default one. I created it myself. You can make of it whatever you want:
        public class TreeItem {
          private String text;
           private List<TreeItem> children = null;
           public TreeItem(String text){
            this.text = text;
            public void setText(String text) {
                this.text = text;
            public String getText() {
                return text;
            public void setChildren(List<TreeItem> children) {
                this.children = children;
            public List<TreeItem> getChildren() {
                return children;
            }I wrote the TreeItem as an inner class of the managed bean.
    The most important part is the getModel methode. There you need to specify an Object and the name of the getter that will return a List of the children.
    Hope this helps.

  • ADF Tree 10.1.3.1, not highlighting the selected node.

    Hi,
    I'm having a problem highlighting the selected node in the ADF CoreTree.
    I use the treehandler and model as described in the link: http://technology.amis.nl/blog/2116/much-faster-adf-faces-tree-using-a-pojo-as-cache-based-on-read-only-view-object-showing-proper-leaf-nodes-again
    I use this objects because my tree was showing leaf node with the image to collapse.
    The tree now looks great, the only problem is that when i click on a node the focusRowKey is set accordingly(debugging the getter and setter) but is not show as the selected node.
    The tree jspx code looks the follow:
                   <!--TREE-->
                                     <af:tree value="#{ActosTreeHandler.treemodel}" var="node"
                                               focusRowKey="#{ActosTreeHandler.focusRowKey}"
                                               id="treeActos"
                                               varStatus="nodeStatus" binding="#{ActosTreeHandler.jsfTree}">
                                        <f:facet name="nodeStamp">
                                          <af:commandLink text="#{node.description}" partialTriggers="treeActos"
                                                          action="#{backing_documentos_detalhesDocumento.treeAction}">
                                            <!--disabled="#{node.nodeType != 'ACTO'}"-->
                                            <af:setActionListener from="#{ActosTreeHandler.jsfTree.rowKey}"
                                                                  to="#{ActosTreeHandler.focusRowKey}"/>
                                            <af:setActionListener from="#{node}"
                                                                  to="#{ActosTreeHandler.selectedNode}"/>
                                            <af:resetActionListener/>
                                          </af:commandLink>
                                        </f:facet>
                                      </af:tree>Does anyone know how this can be solved?
    Best Regards.

    is this the same as
