Formatting of Timecode Print

Hi People,
I am trying to export a 2 hour film with the timecode displayed on-screen throughout. I've never had to do this before but know how to get the display on-screen (Effects>Video Filters>Timecode Print).
However, I have discovered that despite the fact that the sequence is set to a 25fps timecode base, the Timecode Print function is running at 30fps, leaving a 20 minute difference by the end of the film. I can see know way to change this as it doesn't seem to respond to changes in the sequence or project settings??
If I could also re-format the look of the display, that would be a bonus, but I need to sort this out rather quickly.
Many thanks indeed.
Colin

Hi Colin,
What version of FCP?
In FCP 5 there are two filters available under Effects>Video Filters>Video. They are "Timecode Generator" and "Timecode Reader". I have no "Timecode Print"?
Timecode Generator does exactly that -> Generate a timecode display which is zero based at a custom fps rate (you can also specify offset and layout).
Timecode Reader reads the actual timecode from the clip or sequence (depending on what it is applied to) and displays it and can also be customised in layout.
In both cases you have to make you settings on the "Filters" page after reloading the clip or sequence into the viewer. (To load a sequence into the viewer, select it in the timeline and hit return, as double-clicking a sequence will load the original timeline of the sequence).
Cheers,
Uwe

  • How can I show only text edits and not text formatting when using print comments summary?

    Acrobat 9.3.0 for Mac.
Here is the scenario: I used the Compare command to see the changes between 2 PDFs. The resulting file some edits are inserts and some are deletions. I want to print a comments summary only showing the text edits. In the Compare Option pane, I select Text and deselect Images, Annotations, Formatting, Headers/Footers, and Backgrounds. Now on the screen I see inserts are highlighted in blue and deletions are marked with sort of a caret and vertical bar symbol. So all looks good at this point. However, when I show the Comments List, I see addtional comments that indicate "Replace - The following text attributes were changed: fill color." Those comments do not appear in the page view unless I check the Formatting check box to show them. With Formatting unchecked, I print a comments summary and all of the "Replace - Fill Color" comments" appear on the resulting comments summary.
I only want to show text edits, not text formatting changes. So questions are:
    1. Why, when the Formatting checkbox is unchecked, do the text formatting comments still appear in the comments list when they do not appear on the page display.
    2. How can I print only the text content edits and not show the text formatting changes when using Print Comments Summary.

    Hi,
You can set ExecuteWithParams as default activity in the task flow then method activity to return total no of rows passing to Router activity if your method has value 0 then call Create insert operation else do directly to page.
Following idea could be your task flow
Execute With param (default) > SetCurrentRowWithKey > GetTotalNoOfRows (VOImpl Method)
    |
    v
    Router
    1. If pageFlowScope outcome is 0 then call CreateInsert > MyPage
    2. if pageFlowScope outcome > 0 then MyPage
    hope it helps,

  • Formatting Issues When Printing from a PDF

I am currently using Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 in Windows 7.  I have been printing or saving documnts as PDF's without issues until today.  I have created a document in Microsoft Publisher and have saved it as a PDF.  When I open that document, it appears on screen just as the original file in Publisher.  My issues are when I print from the PDF document.  When I print from the PDF, the formating for footers is not saved.  For example.  I might have a blank page with a page number at the top and a footer containing my company name on the bottom of the page.  When I print that page, the page number is where it is suppose to be, but the footer is moved to right under the page number at the top of the page.   I have been printing PDF from Publisher for years using these same versions of Adobe and Publisher.  Does anyone know why the formatting is not printing correctly?

  • Issue with character formats using duplex printing in smartform

    Hi all,
I am getting a problem with character formats using duplex printing in smartform. I am using a text module with a bold character to display text in a window. The problem is that on the first back page, the text is being printed normally (without bold), but on the next pages, the back pages are being printed with the bold character format.
Can anyone know where is the problem..please.
    Points to be rewarded..
    Thanks.
    Regards,
    Zaheed.

    Hi Zaheed,
Normally this should not happen.. and also there is no internal formatting done by SAP.. it will show based on what fomatting option we have specified..
If you are saying it is happening in ur case then
         1. Recheck whether whether you have same text module getting printed on the
two page. If they are different then then individual check formatting option for
             each..
          2. If above point does'nt work for you ..then instead of bold char use normal
format for text element and see if it is printing same on both page..
Try this out and let us know your findings...
    Enjoy SAP.

  • Date format in PO printing.

We developed a abap program, I copy the form MEDRUCK to a new form ZMEDRUCK, in ZMEDRUCK, I want to display the PO date and delivery date.
All of these date is in format MM/DD/YYYY.
Now the buyers want see the delivery date in the format DD.MMM.YYYY, for example, 15.Feb.2007. I inserted a command SET DATE MASK = 'DD.MMM.YYYY' in main window, when I print it in ME22N, I can see the PO date has been changed to format DD.MMM.YYYY, but the delivery date is still in format MM/DD/YYYY, so I inserted the command SET DATE MASK = 'DD.MMM.YYYY'  to the line before the the date display, the problem can not bed solved.
BTW, the delivery date fields is PEKKO-LFDAT, RM06P-LFDAT and DC_EINDT (generated by the report from field EKET-EINDT).
    Best Regards,
    Slash Jiang

    Hi,
From what i understand the field RM06P-LFDAT is giving the isuue.
I had a similar problem in PO printout with scheduled quantity RM06P-PRMG1. The issue was that, the quantity was getting displayed as 2,000 for 2.00. The basis guy told me that, it can be altered via configuration, but for form printouts the configuration won't take effect.
I got that solved by running a sepearte query in a subroutine and fetching the concerend value from the table into a variable i defined.
I would advise u to test the same.

Any one there has any idea what this error is for.

This could have something to do with the fact that your printer is not set up correctly. Can you run a plain text (OReports) file output to the same printer? If not, then the printer is not set up in FND correctly. If you can ...
Remeber that unless you have a more modern printer that can handle PDF documents natively then XMLPs PDF is going to need to be converted to PS or PCL. I would suggest you investigate the PASTA printer driver and get that set up. It provides the ability to call a program pdf2ps for instance, to convert the PDF to PS. There is a bunch of info on metalink

  • I am unable to print a proper playlist in the jewel case format.  Lines print on top of one another.  No problem with other print formats

I am unable to properly print a playlist in the jewel case format.  All lines bunch together.  I have no problem with other print formats.  Help please.

If it is a USB powered external, no AC adpater, that may be the reason. Mac notebooks are known to have low powered USB ports. You can get around that with a Y USB cable to connect to 2 USB ports at the same time.

They "may" use it for the viewing end of things but the formatting end is all theirs and doesn't involve Adobe Reader. Reader just views the end product.

  • File format for professional printing

(In case it's relevant I'm using CS2, but I think it probably doesn't matter.)
I have some logos that I'm publishing for people to use for a variety of purposes. I want to keep the number of file formats to as few as reasonably possible in order not to confuse everyone. My question is, what vector-based format should I use for professional printers?
I originally assumed that .ai would be too narrowly supported (for instance, I'm advised that Quark can't read .ai files) so I opted for .eps, thinking that this would be recognised by virtually every graphics program. However, I've since discovered that eps doesn't handle a critical graphical element as I'd thought it would:
For the sake of simplicity (rather than getting too involved in the actual logo design), imagine a white circle with a standard drop shadow outside it fading smoothly away the further you get from the circle's edge. This is supposed to sit on any coloured background, with the parts of the shadow gradient that aren't grey (if that makes sense) being transparent. The trouble is that, apparently, in Quark (and maybe other programs for all I know), this shaded area comes out with a white background. I've mocked up an approximate comparison - attached - of how it ought to look and how it actually comes out.
The upshot of all that is that, as far as I can tell, eps is not the right format. So I come back to my request: can anyone recommend a file format which Illustrator can produce that is:
    - vector-based
    - compatible with all common graphics programs
    - able to handle faded drop shadows correctly?
    Thanks,
    Giles.

CMYK is always preferred, as there's no such thing as a printer that uses RGB inks.  Switching color spaces can end badly.
Agreed for printing CMYK is preferred but, i gather that there are some digital printers that prefer RGB files... hence my caveat.
however rips with color precise elements that can hit things like PMS colors require vector art with embedded swatches.
Whatever the method, if you have a tiff file, you're safe. But, it's not flexible except for downscaling.
A pdf is generally preferred, as even if the sender forgets to convert the fonts, you can always open the file in Photoshop and have the file be read accurately.
Forget to convert fonts? In a tiff? What are you talking about?

  • Date Format in Check Printed from F110

    Hi,
    I'm on 4.6C.
Company: US10 (United states local configuration)
I'm doing the check printing thru Tcode F110 and for printing we are using program RFFOUS_C. Earlier we were getting date format as MM.DD.YYYY but if vendor is form Spain (I'm not sure) I have started getting format as DD/MM/YYYY.
Why?. Should I change vendor's country to US on Tcode FK03?
I have checked the user setting (Tcode SU3) of the person who did the printing, in that also the date format is MM.DD.YYYY.
A lot of thanks in advance.
    Best Regards,

    Hi Sid,
    Thanks for your quick answer.
    My Date's fields in RFFOUS_C are: &REGUH-ZALDT& and &REGUP-BldAT&
    /: SET DATE MASK = 'MM.DD.YYYY'
    OR
    /: SET REGUH-ZALDT MASK = 'MM.DD.YYYY'  ????
I must set date mask in every window??
a lot of thanks in advance.

  • Conditional Formating colors not printed

I have an OBIEE Report that has conditional formating to display results with background colors based on the values like if actuals is greater than goal then display the number in green and if below the goal then red etc. What I am seeing is that when I display the report (Table view) on dashboard on IE6 browser, it shows all the conditional formatting colors on the dashboard but when I do print preview, the colors are lost. When printed, it prints the report without the colors. I developed the reports in IE8 version and when I view and print from IE8 browser, it prints with colors. I feel it might be a bug or incompatibility with IE6 but am not sure about that. Is there any way to resolve this issue. This report will be viewed on IE6 browser and upgrading the company wide browser is not an option.
