Formatting padded rows
Hi,
I'm new to BI Publisher and am stuck on the formatting of my layout. I'm trying to convert the standard Oracle AR invoice (RAXINV_SEL) report to XML. I've read the articles by Tim Dexter and Darshan Bhavsar on row enumeration and I think I got it to work. My problem is getting the extra padded rows to print the borders. I have to show the outside lines but not the lines in between the columns. I've logged an SR with Oracle but was told this is very difficult to do and suggested I asked this forum. Does anyone have any ideas on how to make this work?

What i understood from above statement is ,, i think you want only outer borders of table ,i mean you don't want border for inner cell.
I think for this you have to play around with MS-Word's Border&Shedding option. Set the left,right,top,bottom border as per your requirement.

Customizing the Style of Header Cells in Forms
Applying a bold style to all forms
1. From HyperionPlanning.war\custom, open HspCustom.css and insert this class code:
customheaderStyle
Font-family:<font>;
Font-size:<size>;
Font-weight:bold;
For example, to use bolded garamond 14 as the style for header cells you would specify:
customheaderStyle
Font-family:garamond;
Font-size:14;
Font-weight:bold;
You can also change the font and the font size in the same portion of code.
Perform the tasks in "Registering Customized Skins in Applications".
Applying a bold style to one form
Determine the ID of the form to customize by running this query in which ‘<FORM_NAME’ is the name of the form:
Select object_id AS FORM_ID,object_name AS FORM_NAME from hsp_object
where object_name like ‘<FORM_NAME>’
For example, to modify a form called "1.30 Per Payor – Metrics”, you would run this query:
Select object_id AS FORM_ID,object_name AS FORM_NAME from hsp_object where object_name like "1.30 Per Payor-Metrics"
When the ID is returned, create a css class in HspCustom.css using the following format. HspCustom.css is in HyperionPlanning.war\custom.
“customheaderStyle_<FORM_ID>”
Set font-weight in .customheaderStyle as bold as shown below. You can also change the font and the font size in the same portion of code.
customheaderStyle
Font-family:<font>;
Font-size:<size>;
Font-weight:bold;
To use different styles on individual forms, create a css class for each form.
so there is a way to create custom headers

Apply Number Format across Rows
Hi Experts - I need to apply the number format across rows. As a dimension I have a Bex Structure.
Negetive number should be in red and there is also a % rows , which should have 2 decimal places.
I need help how to fromat numbers across the rows while we have Bex structure in place.
Structure BUD PF1 Total
Amount---> 1000 -500.00 500.00
% Amount-->5.00% -15.00% -10.00%

Right click the column and apply conditional fromatting. Your negative numbers should follow a code like this.
Negative; [Red](In square braces)(#,##0.00).
This will display any negative number in Red color.

Conditional Formating of rows and columns in template(cross tab)
Hi,
I am developing a cross tab report in which I have row header as the year like 2008,2007,2006....column header as months jan,feb,mar...and the data area contains the respective data...I need to format the background color of the rows and columns which are below the date of the report(report is ran for a particular month like mar-08)..I was able to format the background color of all the rows that fall below(ex:08) the year of the report(using <?if@row:row_name<'$first'?> <xsl::attribute name="background-color" xdofo:ctx="incontext">#C0D27F</xsl::attribute><?end if?>)..
and I need to format the 3(till march) columns in the yr 2008

Some of the Portal Documentation makes note of how the variable field ##OP_ROWNUM_MOD2## could be utilized to laternate the ROW colors using the HTML format.

Wicked Widget Format / Padding Output Problem
Hi forum, it's been a while.
I'm hoping this is quick and obvious to someone. Basically I'm looking to pad the output of the standard network monitor Wicked widget, and maybe some of the others, for the new Awesome 3 GIT. It is all working fine, just i'd like to stop the numbers moving around my status bar. As a temp fix to stop everything moving i've set the width of the network widget, but is their some Lua formatting that can go in the output string and sort this properly?

I was part way through breaking everything down into individual widgets that had their width set, but that was pretty time consuming and not very elegant. I had thought there might be something I was missing that I could wrap around the dollar variable, format(${eth0 down},'000') etc, but your way is simpler.
My new user understanding:
wicked.register(widget-name, function-name, output-string, interval-in-seconds, properties-name ,{padding-item-1, ... padding-item-n})
I look forward to playing with it later, thanks for your help. -
Formating the Row Based on one column value
Hi Friends
I am trying to format the Entire row based on the value of the first column in my Answers.
Example if first column value in 'F' now i want the Entire row to be colored
I can do conditional formating on one column but i want to do it on the entire row
F 8.1 % 12.0 %
E 5.2 % 3.5 %
M 2.3 % 3.3 %
If any one has done this or any suggestions please respond

the column 2 --> 8.1% , 5.2% , 2.3% are the sales in year 2008
the column 3 --> 12.0 % , 3.5 %, 3.3 % are the sales in year 2009
So will i be able to apply the formating in pivot view based on one column to other column If yes please let me know how or
suggest if this can be done using the BI Office , or BI publisher
sing the BI Office i can do the formating in Excel but once i refresh the data all the formating is gone ... :(
I am donno BI Publisher if we have to use BIP please suggest any solution its very very very urgent and important report formating they need here ....

Exception for Formatting Total row
We are able to format the total row of a table region using the following code in the processrequest:

I am new to BI and would like some help with an issue I don't seem to be able to resolve?
I have a table that uses two xml group elements (2nd nested inside first) to produce my detail lines.
Example:-
First for-each loop runs over shipto details and within this another for-each loop runs over items related to that shipto, all of which results in multiple detail lines.
I need to limit the number of rows per page and should the data roll over to the next page I need to place a horizontal closing border on the first page's table (only using column borders).
Also when the data does not fill the page I need to add spacer rows to the page limit?
I have tried using examples found in these forums, position(), counters etc… but due to having the second detail loop I’m unable to get these working or I’m doing something wrong?

I have tried some of the examples which I can get working with a single level of detail lines. However when I add the second level of detail lines the position() function seems to fail as my rowlimit appears to be ignored.
I am also unable to get the $lpp example working because the outer detail loop may only have one xml element and therefore BI assumes only one line is to be printed when in fact the inner xml element detail loop may have further multiple lines. I need to effectively count the outer & inner loops as one to determine the number of lines being processed.
Example of xml - My table for detail lines needs to include both ShipTo & item number lines grouped as shown, thereby counting & outputting 7 lines in this instance.

of course you can always use sys connect by path to roll the column values up into a single entry.
anyway use stragg or sys connect by path to get all the colum values into a single entry seperated by commas

Tamil,English,Hindi,German,Telugu 1,2,3,4,5 1000,2000,3000,4000,5000
next I used the model clause to take the three columns one row construct
and change it to one column 3 rows so now the result set looks like this
col1
Tamil,English,Hindi,German,Telugu
1,2,3,4,5
1000,2000,3000,4000,5000
finally I appended a comma to the end of each row and parsed through it pulling out the text between columns
here is the whole thing...... again for this to work you need to have implemented the stragg function else you'll have to change to sys connect by path.

If you don't want extra rows in your table and just want a clean, two-click solution, then AppleScript is good at conditional coloring of rows.
Here, a script colors rows whose column C (column 3) is blank, like this:

This is the script:

Must be known at the parsing time itself. But in your case i dont think the number of columns will be limited to 2 (10 and 20) there could be many more.

I've got my columns and everything formatted as required.
Only thing is, would like to format my rows differently, basically I don't want the rows to terminate a new line, but a particular character instead, can this be done in sqlplus...
(The only way I can think of doing it is by post processing the output with a shell script or something.. Really don't want to do that..)Hi...

Conditionally Color a row based on the Day of the Week for that row ?
Hi,
I have a Table containing some timing entries for each day. I have been trying to format some rows depending on a value in one of the columns for that row. What I would like to achieve is color the cell background gray for every row where the Date found in the first Column isn't a Week Day.
I have been trying many things by now, but can't seem to figure it out. Does anyone have suggestions ? I have included a screenshot of what I would like to achieve :

You'll need a second table with one column and as many rows as Table 1 (which contains the dates).
The formula for Table 2 assumes the dates are in column B of Table 1.
=OR(WEEKDAY(Table 1::B)=1,WEEKDAY(Table 1::B)=7)
Enter the formula in the same row as the first data row in Table 1, and Fill it down.
Rule for conditional formatting for all cells in Table 2: Equals TRUE

Download to Excel is hiding rows in a pivot view
Hello ,
When downloading a report to excel from OBIEE Dashboard , certain rows are getting hidden . For instance , I have total 15 rows in my pivot view and when I download that report into excel format , the rows from 8-13 are not showing up . After 7th row I see 14th row .
But when I download the same report from Answers I can see all rows in the pivot view .
I tried looking at the formatting options of the pivot view and everything is normal . This is happening only with this particular report , other reports in dashboard download normally .
Please let me know if anybody has ideas .

From where ur downloading to excel ...use the download option available at "preview " button ,if you are using the same go with report links download button option
Last option create a new report (without any filters in case if u have)
