Formatting problems in templates [was: can't believe I actually have to ask this...]
Hi,
I've been working on some websites that use templates.
I haven't used templates before, and i'm sure i'm making things harder than they need to be, but what has turned out to give me the most headaches is:
Simple formatting stuff. Font color, font size, and alignment.
All I want is to make the font size bigger for one simple phrase, one time. I want to change the font color of one link one time. I want to center one single title and make it black, one time.
I think the css styles from the template are whats making this way harder than it needs to be. I like the settings I've set, most of the time. but i just want it to be easy to adjust these basic things for certain parts of pages that are exceptions.

You dont mention if these different stylings are in an editable region or not. Either way, you can apply an embedded or local set of css rules to any page by inserting in the <head>
<style type="text/css">
</style>
and inserting whatever rules you want to apply to the page. Just make sure this comes after the external css link.
If it is not in an editable region, I suppose you could insert a <span> tag and not have an external rule and only a local rule as mentioned above, so it would be ignored on all pages except that with the local rule, but I am hard pressed to think of a time you might actully use it.

I read this to say that the phone is not jailbroken and the OP does not want to jailbreak it.
The only way to unlock it is to contact the carrier it is locked to, and ask them to unlock it.
You are also in the unfortunate position that the iPhone is not supported in Iran due to the international embargo. -

I am on a PC using XP. I downloaded a trial version of Flash
8. It worked the first couple of times but now refuses to load at
all. Occasionally it gets as far as the little start page, says
copying files then initializing fonts then it disappears and that's
it. I read somewhere that you need to disable the start page
because it is searching the internet for something???? But how on
earth can you disable your start page if you can't get in to the
program in the first place
I have tried this on two different PCs and it still won't
launch. Why do Macromedia always manage to mess things up in the
end?sounds like a corrupt font to me.

How do you move a file to the trash with ONE keystroke (Can't believe I'm wasting time on this!)
Everytime I want to send a file to the trash, I have to either perform some kind of key combination/shortcut or use the trackpad/mouse, right click and select "move to trash", or drag the file(s) to the trash! This is absolutely ridiculous. Why can't I just press the delete button??? I cannot take it anymore! It's such a waste of time.

Seriously!
Now the problem is how do you do this?
1. I went to the system prefs > Keyboard > Keyboard and checked "use F1, F2, etc... as standard function keys.."
2. Under keyboard shortcuts, I selected "Application Shortcuts" and clicked on the "+" sign
3. I selected the finder application, entered "Move To Trash" in the action box, and F12 as the key (because it's next to "delete")
That did not work. It just opened the dashboard instead.
4. I went back to "keyboard shortcuts" and found F12 was already assigned to open the dashboard. So I unchecked it and tried again.
That still didn't work. I would select the file to be moved to trash, press F12, and after an error "beep" sound, the last file in the folder was highlighted.Duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuude!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU DID IT! I cannot believe it!
I changed "Move To Trash" to "Move to Trash" and selected a file. I had lost all hope, so I took a minute to prepare myself for yet another moment of deep frustration. Then I pressed F10, and bang! the file was trashed!!! It took me a couple minutes to actually believe what just happened. Thank you so much! If I could, I would "like" you as many times as I can physically hit the "Liked" button!
PS: what the heck is wrong with Apple though??? Wrong instructions, incorrect help instructions on their own site. The chances of figuring this out before having a nervous breakdown were like one in a million (approximately, I did not actually do the math). Last week, the keyboard and the trackpad stopped responding on my brand new macbook pro for a couple hours. I was not the only one with this problem. Apparently, this was from a design flaw, which means it could happen again at any time. iMovie doesn't work. TextEdit keeps crashing all the time. Emptying the trash can take hours.
Since 2000, I bought a PMac G4 Quicksilver, a used PMac G3 Blue, a used iBook G4, a used Pismo PBook G3, a used Graphite iMac G4, a used iMac G3 (green, 233MHz I think) and I already had more problems with this brand new macbook pro than will all the other macs combined... For such an expensive machine, with 16GB of RAM, that's a little dissapointing, especially from Apple. Maybe I'm just not lucky.

I can't believe I left Dish Network for this....
All I can say is I am glad my 2 yr contract ends in Aug 2014 and I can cut the head off this FIOS TV junk.
We have had problems since day one and the technical support either replaces equipment or says "its supposed to be like that".
We have had to replace the main MR DVR box and the SD box already due to various things from clock display burning out to " loss of signal, check router status and reboot your set top box". And when these pieces of equipment were inoperable, we still paid for service, never once received a credit from Verizon.
The secondary DVR set top box has a mind of its own, freezes while playback, scrambles the picture and/or the remote will stop responding while trying to skip forward or backwards. It will boot you to the end of the show or take you back to the beginning, forcing you to FFWD through the show to the point the set top box kicked you out.
I've asked about credits for and/or lowering my monthly bill now that we are out of the 1 yr period and the Verizon rep's I have spoken with while they are courtious have all but told me, we can't help you and if you don't like it leave at the end of your contract period.
I will happily oblige you Verizon, I will spend the next 6 months researching for a Cable/Satelite TV company that offers competitve rates and offers reliable equipment. It's not the money, its the fact that when I do call for help, I get the impression that it's an inconvienience to request replacement equipment and was even told one time, "do you really need a replacement set top box because the clock doesn't work?" The answer is yes, for what you're taking out of my wallet every month, I expect equipment to be fully functional, including the clock display.

These are peer to peer forums, but Verizon sometimes does exculate issues.
If you are having issues with your box you know you can swap them out online in your account or on the stb/dvr box menu without having to talk to anyone. You can also go to a fios store.
Honestly though if you are that unhappy with the service why are you even waiting for the contract to run out? Pay the early term fee and move on. With 6 months left thats only a etf of around $70 since the etf drops $10 each month from when you originally signed the contract. -

What an embarassing first post... I'm new to BusinessObjects (6.5.1) and half way through building a query I've minimized the "Data Provider" screen.... and can't restore it (can't even find it)... it's obviously active (offscreen I guess) because everything else is now greyed out and is inactive....
Tell me: a) I'm not the first person to do this...
and b) How to get it back
I'm unable to do anything until I have a solution to this since BO appears to save the position - if I close and re-open, or open a new query, I find myself in the same situation.
I look forward (really) toyour suggestions!

You're not the first person to do this, however, I've never had this problem before, only got some crib notes on the subject so this may or may not work:
1. in regedit clear the key and all subfolders: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Business Objects\Suite 11.5\default\BusinessObjects\Application Preferences\BusinessReporter\Desktop Intelligence 2. Restart DeskI and all menus will be reset to original. -
A problem with iDVD, i can't make the actual DVD... not enough space
And that's odd, because the DVD is a 4.7 GB Single-sided, and i've put in the menu 5 video, for a total of 500-600 MB.
Why i can't burn it? And do you know programs to make video size smaller? Thanks.
[Oh, and a noobish question, cause this is my first DVD with iDVD... in the "Map", after the video shall i put the menu again? I mean, when that video finishes, the DVD return to the menu or not? Thanks.The way to find out is look under project info again. If it gives you an option to switch to double layer disc, like it does with me. Then that signals that your computer can handle them. Thats what I remember reading anyway.

I can't believe i have to ask this lol
I have a G5 server i am attempting to load. It has been sitting in a rack for about a year never used. On the back of the server you have ethernet and a serial port. I loaded up server admin tools on a G5 workstation and attempted to "log in" to the server to attempt a reinstall. However when i install the admin tools on the g5 running 10.3 it seems they never install. I am not a mac guy just starting out but i for the life of me cannot figure out how to get some kind of display out of this server (no video card). Any help/guidance/direction would be so appreciated.

I used to be able on Mozilla to listen on-line to all of the BBC radio stations via their website but in about February of this year it has just stopped .....I click on their listen again facility the way I used to but nothing happens it is really frustratingI have asked and looked on-line in vain to find the answer to this question ..
I can access them via Internet Explorer and Google but Mozilla is the browser I use and I want to be able to listen to them via that
Do I have to add something on to be able to do this?

I can not imagine why I have to mention this but why can multi-layer files not be opened in touch?
There are many reasons for the use of programs such as this and at the top of this list must be using layers, without them it would be easier to use a sheet of paper or a sketchbook scan and complete in photoshop at home.
I don't totally get your comment. You can use layers in Touch, they just have to a touch file type (I'm not sure about bringing over photoshop files, as I've never done it.). I have my own wish list for this app, but I suspect we all have to be a bit restrained as to what we should expect out of a $10 program.

I have rung people and it has been working fine but now out of the blue, i ring people and they end up hanging up on me as they can't hear me.
i would recomend going into an apple store and making an appoitmnet at the genius bar. or it may be you sim card im not sure.

I'm getting error ATV-ui1613 with netflix now every time . I can't log in. Have you had this before
All of a sudden out of nowhere. I can't sign into Netflix and its driving my family crazy. Has this happened to you and what did you do abou it.
Power cycle the ATV and router.
If the issue continues, on the ATV select Settings > General > Reset -
I see older posts on this (dating back years!) but no solution. Really no reply/fix from Apple? Formatting takes over my emails when sending to a pc contact. Fonts change, signature enlarges, looks ugly and very unprofessional. I don't want to switch to plain text instead of rich text, because I then lose all the formatting features I want. "Genius" at the Apple Store couldn't help. I can't believe that Apple hasn't addressed this .... do we all need to scream louder? Very frustrating. Or has someone discovered a solution and I just haven't found it?
Ended up on a call with apple support. THey had me disable login items and go through system folder and dump a lot of extensions. Kill all /library/launchagents and /library/launchdaemons all of them.
He said the likely culprits are /library/extensions... instanton and soundflower. I killed those.
so my system has been given an enema, and the problem has gone away. Not sure which of those things I killed will turn out to be necessary, but I'll figure it out one item at a time.
