Formatts?

I've just started using iMovie08. I've got many vid clips. Most are not in avi format. It seems that the only file iMovie will work with is avi. Do I need to convert the mpgs, mov etc to avi? If so, what is a good converter?

I’m working on a Report, it gets some 2 million records and the report pages are approximately 52,000
It works fine if the pages are lesser then 48,000 or the data is less let say one and half a million, the problem occurs only after 48000 + pages formatted.
Report is generated successfully when trying to go to the last page it throw an error.
REP-1800 Formatter error
VGS-1701 Not enough memory
I have already gone through the metalink DOC Id 95505.1 as well as OTN
But all in vain,
Any comments or help much appreciated.
Details are:
Reports 6i (Clients/Server) on Windows platform
(Windows XP Professional with SP 2)
Database: Oracle9i Enterprise Edition Release 9.2.0.5.0
Computer:
Pentium(R) 4, CPU 3.00GHz, 1 GB of RAM
Still 20 GB free space

I don't see the point in making a report with more than 48,000 pages, I think Al Gore will not be happy when you start printing it...
The problem might be caused by the fact that Reports needs to format all output at once, and then even 1GB of memory will probably be not enough. Formatting all pages at once is needed if you use pagination with displaying total number of pages. If you have this, try to get that out of the report definition and try again.

HP LJ P3005 changing formatter number

It's my first post here so HELLO
I've got problem with repair formatters for HP LJ P3005. I've got large number of these with dead eeprom's. Change eeprom IC are not problematic, more problematic is to get right dump for them. I have got batch from different unit (same formatter), I can change MAC addres (using hex editor on batch I have) - it works good. But I cannot change formatter ID to the as on formatter label are. When i try to do so, in report print (config) there is number (decimaly) in place where formatter number should be (number is always the same). I was trying to directly program eeprom outside formatter board (in programmer). I try also use PJL to do so, i can comunicate with printer using LAN (formatter doesn't have LPT port), printers accepts commands but it doesn't change formatter number.
How can i change formatter number?

How to find out the formatt type of a date.

hello iam getting the date from some content server..then iam updating the date..the problem is before update i should know the date formatt of returned date from server so that i can set that formatt to the user entered date while updation..so how can i know the date formatt of given date..

Are dd/MM/yyyy and MM/dd/yyyy the actual formats you'll get? Let me ask you this: If somebody showed you the string (on a piece of paper) "12/05/2005" how would you know if it was Dec. 5 or 12 May?
Answer: You wouldn't. You can't without some additional information.
And if you can't know, then neither can Java.

Disk Utility can't format my external HD - File System Formatter fails

Hi. I have a Freecom 1.5TB external hardrive that is connected by firewire to my Intel iMac. The drive has worked fine for a year and then suddenly the "error 36 code" appeared and nothing else could be saved to the drive.
Disk Utility told me that it could not repair the disk and that I should format it. At this stage the problems start!
DU fails to format the drive with the error "File System Formatter Failed."
I have read various conversations on this error on these forums and followed the instructions but nothing has worked. I have already
1) Partioned the disk making sure it is "GUID" - then formatted and it still fails
2) Used MS DOS to do it but that also fails.
I have noticed that the SMART status is "not recognised".
Is there anything else that I can do or am I just doing this wrong? I am thinking that I might be able to do something using the start-up disks but I don't know how to do that and don't want to jepardise my iMac whichis otherwise working fine!

I went crazy last night with the same issue trying to format my Toshiba external drive. I could format as MSDOS but not Mac journaled. I tried the guid partition scheme etc... no luck. Then I read somewhere that Leopard has an issue with the partitioning schemes. I hooked it up to my macbook on Tiger and whalla, formatted no problem. Then I was able to hook it up to Time Machine and let it reformat it on my Snow Leopard version of OSX on the iMac. I'm on OSX 10.6.8.

My dream of a perfect code formatter

I want to share with you my dream of what I consider a perfect code formatter:
Have you ever used an if statement with lots of conditions?

Have you ever created a method with parameters composed by large strings?

I think it´s time to develop a better code formatter, with improved "GUI features". I mean, what if a "compressed if statement", and then when you click on this compressed if statement a "GUI window" appears, showing to you all the conditions defined in this if stamentent, in an very well organized way?

SQL Formatter Settings not saved

Every time I try and change the tab size on the formatter settings, it reverts to 2, no matter what value I use.
How do I set the Home directory? I have changed the start in directory in my windows shortcut, but when i go to open files, it always starts at c:\oracle\raptor\jdev, and cant find a way to change that.

I assume you have tried using a nother USB sync cable to help rule out the possibility of a faulty one? What about plugging the iPod into a different USB port on your Mac?
It might help to remove any other USB devices you have connected to the Mac. Then reboot the Mac as well as your iPod by pressing and holding both the Select/Center and Menu buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear. Then try to resync.
Could you provide the full text from the error messages you are referring to?
Make sure you are running the latest version of iTunes (10.6.3).

Where did you get this java.util.Formatter from? If you check the official 1.4.2 API for Java, that class does not exisit! However, java.util.logging.Formatter, does exisit...

1320n giving "formatter error" only when hooked up to network?

We took a 1320n from our customer which was giving us the error I stated above and in our shop hooked up to our network it works completely fine. No errors what so ever.
We took out a loaner 1320 that was previously in our location and put it in theres and as soon as we plug it into their network it gives us formatter error. This is all I've been told so far I will try and get more details sooner.
Any ideas?

The error messages are appearing on basic set up to stream music, extending the range was the next thing I was going to attempt after successful set-up and I realise now that it will not be possible.
I think my problems might stem from my Linksy's router as I am having occasional drop-outs on two wifi connected laptops at different times and looking on the web, error 6753 seems to relate to using the wrong ports.
Anyway I have just installed Windows 7 on a Vaio replacing Vista and I will try to do a basic streaming set-up on the Ax. If it still doesn't work I will have to replace the router (any suggestions for a long range, dual band wifi router that works well with Ax?).

EA1 - SQL Formatter issues (JOINs and GROUPs and ORDER BY oh my ;)

Great job with improving the SQL Formatter, but it still has some bugs that need to be worked out.
The key words JOIN and it's modifiers INNER, LEFT, RIGHT and FULL OUTER are not recognized as master key words. As such they end up flush against the left margin Also when GROUP BY and/or ORDER BY key words are present in an outer most select statement the other key words are not indented far enough to be right aligned with the end of the word BY and are indented too far to be right aligned with the word GROUP or ORDER. In sub queries, GROUP and ORDER BY are correctly right aligned with their respective SELECT statements.

We're picking up and collating the Formatter issues. I'll add these.

There are 2 ways to do it... In oracle you have built in functions like
TO_CHAR (SYSDATE, 'DD-MM-YYYY')
You can use these. Else in Java you can use SimpleDateFormat Class to convert it
SimpleDateFormat formatter = new SimpleDateFormat ("MM-dd-MM-yyyy");
formatter.format(date);

10.1.2: Problem with ConrolHint Date-Formatter

Hi,
when defining an control hint of format type Simple Date and format "yyyy-MM-dd G 'at' hh:mm:ss" in an EO the business components browser shows values like "2005-01-04 n. Chr. at 12:00:00". But the SQL column contains a correct time fragment like "9:35:21.0". Without control hint definition the value is displayed as "2005-01-04 9:35:21.0" !!
The attribute is defined as DATE/oracle.jbo.domain.Date.
Any workaround?
With JDev9052 I get the same results! Please, have a look at Date (Formatter) problem in JDev 9052

Formatter.format() difficulties

I am having troubles formating output. I am using JavaTM 2 Platform Standard Edition 5.0 API Specification and Java 1.5.0.
In the API there is a class called formatter that allows for you to format output by giving it arguments. Below is an exact copy of a portion of the example in the java API.

Flex AdvancedDataGrid - ColumnOrder With Formatter and ItemRenderer Question For Experts

I have a advanceddatagrid that has around 15 columns. Some are string,
some are numbers. I have shown 4 columns below.
The number columns have formatting done for zero precision and 2
digits precision. The itemRenderer is just to show Blue Color if the
number is +ve and Red Color if the number is -ve.
It looks something like below

I am trying to save the users setting of column order when he closes
the application and reload with the same order when the user opens the

I would bypass the DataGrid all together. Using the DataGrid , you have to mess with itemrenderers and indexes ... not
very fun when one can avoid it. Instead , I would do my calculations off of the dataprovider. Then it becomes an elementary exercise of a for-loop and [Bindable] values.

How to use formatter if binding syntax is not complex

i know how to use formatters in UI5 HTML views when data-sap-ui-xx-bindingSyntax="complex"
But currently i have an app where the bindingSyntax is not set to complex, and for certain reasons i don't want to change that at the moment.
How do we use formatters in non-complex binding mode? I cannot find anything about that in the docs. Constructs like data-something="{path: ' ', formatter : ' ' }" seem not to work in non-complex mode.
