  • Odd FormCalc error on xfa.form.recalculate()

Using FormCalc I'm getting an accessor unknown error using xfa.form.recalculate(1).
    Error: accessor 'xfa.form.recalculate("1")' is unknown.
If I take it out of the statement I have it in it and slap it on a button it works.
    Statement it is in:
    var vIndex = $.parent.parent.index
    if (vIndex > 0) then
              Page02.subStep0203._subDiscArGr.removeInstance(vIndex)
              Page03.subStep04._subConduct.removeInstance(vIndex)
              Page03.subStep05A._subFile.removeInstance(vIndex)
              _subRespondent.removeInstance(vIndex)
              xfa.form.recalculate(1)
    endif
I also get the error if I put the line outside the if statement.
I'll probably just redo it in JavaScript but generally FormCalc is much easier/faster for this sort of thing. And I'm curious as to what's happening!

Thanks for that article. The best part about that article is John Brinkman's comment on referencing the instance manager object in a calculation event instead of using both the calculation event and the indexChange event.
    Consider this, say you want a numbered list of rows that increments the number everytime you add a row. In the calculate event of a cell in the row you would put this.rawValue=this.parent.index+1;
but of course if you delete the first row it doesn't recalculate and your left with a set of rows starting with 2. Well I've always put in the indexChange event of the row NumField.execCalclulate(); to refresh the field when a row was deleted. Well try this two liner in the calculate event of the field alone without any code in the indexChange event of the row:
var i=_RepeatableRow.count; //it's only use is to trick the
//calculate event mitigating the need for indexChange event code
    this.rawValue=this.parent.index+1;
Here, I inserted a 'useless' line of code (var i=_RepeatableRow.count) for the sole purpose of tricking the calculate event into thinking it's referencing the instance manager object. When the objects count property changes from the deletion of a row, it fires the event. Cool.

I don't know why this faulty code is referencing things to do with "chrome"... the Chrome browser is not installed on this PC or anywhere on our network.
Also, this is not the first problem I had after clicking Firefox's prompt for the latest update. Before Firefox retreated into this error message, it was loading but running with some faults...
    1. the bookmark symbol was not appearing on the right hand side of the URL line, so I had always to click on "bookmark this page", after which the bookmark symbol did appear; however I don't know if the bookmarking function worked properly.

How do I reinstate my Firefox program to work properly please? do I have to download the latest version and reinstal? if so, do I have to remove the old version first? or is there a fix?

  • 10g Forms Builder with error "cannot attach library" opening R12 fmb file

    Hi all,
I had set up my Forms Builder with all the necessary PLL and FMB files for developing R12 custom forms. I have used the builder to do few custom PLLs and one custom form, and I did not have any problem opening seeded Oracle Forms. Today when I need to enhance that custom form I did 2 weeks ago and I opened Forms Builder, I got the error "Cannot attach library.." for APPCORE, APPDAYPK, etc.. Same error for opening TEMPLATE.fmb.
I have done these to troubleshoot:
    1) I verified my Windows XP registry "FORMS_PATH" to include the folder where I store all the PLLs and FMBs.
    2) I updated default.env to include that file path.
    3) I create shortcut to Forms Builder and put folder path with PLLs under the "Start in" field of the shortcut.
    4) I rebooted my machine after changing the registry
    5) I moved the folder with PLLs to under C:; I seperate PLL to "resource" sub-folder and FMB to forms/US/ sub-folder just like the server structure.
    6) I install one more copy of Developer 10G Suite and set up the registry.
None of these work and the key is it used to work with no issue. Any suggestions what may be the problems?
    Thanks!
    Mike.

Turned out I reloaded all the $AU_TOP forms and PLLs to my desktop and it worked fine. I think I did not FTP correctly the first time.

its work you are right thanks , but i still have a problem with this alert message if i press yes the there is an error at runtime and the form it's not work
but if i press no in the alert everything it's fine (why?????)
plz adviceThis is forms information/confirmation message if you read it carefully. While you are attaching library. Form will ask that you want to remove the path from where you are attaching library. If you will choose YES. And you will run form. Then system will try to search it from the registry key named FORMS_PATH as i remember. And suppose if you will choose NO. Then form will save the path of your library and at runtime it will read from that path. So, its better to set value in FORMS_PATH in registry of your library location.
Search in registry with name FORMS_PATH. There will be some existing values. Just in last put the actual path where you library exists. For example when you will double click on FORMS_PATH then you will see some paths. Just in last put semi colon and then set the path of you library just like C:\MY_FORMS. Assuming that your forms and library exists in MY_FORMS folder which is in C drive.
there is a question you did not answer it (how did u copy past my post like this (italics mode)) plz..When you click on reply. Then there will one edit window come. There are some buttons like Bold, Italic ..etc. There is the last button with *"* this icon. And the tool tip is Quot Orignal use that button to get last replying person text.

  • XML Parsing error: not well-formed (invalid token) (error code 4) --- Urgent Help Needed!

Hi all, what im doing now is im trying to create a database connection my my MS SQL 2005 database. I created a data source and went to my Adobe Lifecycle Designer 7.1, i created a new data connection, selected OLEDB and created the connection string using the build function.
Ok, now the problem is, after creating the new data connection and i click on the preview tab, i will receive the error stated above.
'XML Parsing error: not well-formed (invalid token) (error code 4), line 444, column 1 of file'
Does anyone know why am i receiving this error and how do i go about solving this?
I need this database connection to pre-fill my form when the user downloads the form =(

I have a vital form that clients fill out, which is passed to many people in the company along the workflow. The form is a Planner and we have in the following PDF, Word Doc..
Well before, the Planner.pdf was originally created in Word, since most people have access to Word.. but evolved to a PDF form created from the Word Doc via Adobe LiveCycle Designer 8.0 w/ User Rights enabled so that the form could be filled out and saved using Adobe Reader.. which was a step better than Word.. being that it is free. But this needed to be easier and more to the point b/c some clients don't particularly like installing the latest version of Reader, even if you provide them the link. Nor do they like saving the form, filling the form, and attaching the form to send back.
My goal is to have the client fill an HTML version of the form, submit and be done with it, but everyone in the workflow be able to easily receive the filled Planner as a PDF form.
So some months ago I ran into this post Chris Trip, "Populate Livecycle PDF from mySQL database using PHP" #8, 22 Sep 2007 4:37 pm
which uses the command line Win32 pdftk.exe to merge an FDF file into an existing PDF on the remote server, and serve this to whoever.
My problem was with shared hosting and having the ability to use the Win32 pdftk.exe along with PHP which is predominantly used on Linux boxes. And we used a Linux box.
so i created the following unorthodox method, which a client fills the HTML version of the Planner, all field values are INSERTED into a table in MySQL DB, I and all filled planners that have been filled by clients to date can be viewed from a repository page where an XML file is served up of the corresponding client, but someone would have to have Acrobat Professional, to import the form data from the XML file into a blank form.. altoughh this is simple for me.. I have the PHP file already created so that when a Planner is filled and client submits. >> the an email is sent to me with a table row from the repository of the client name, #, email, and a link to d-load the XML file,
But I also have the PHP files created so that the Planner can be sent to by email to various people in the workflow with certain fileds ommitted they they do not need to see, but instead of the XML file beiong served up i need the filled PDF Planner to be served.
I can do this locally with ease on a testing server, but I am currently trying to use another host that uses cross-platform compatibility so i can use PHP and the pdftk.exe to achieve this, as that is why I am having to serve up an XML file b/c we use a Linux server for our website, and cant execute the exe.
Now that I am testing the other server (cross-platform host), just to use them to do the PDF handling (and it's only $5 per month) I am having problems with getting READ, WRITE, EXECUTE permissions..
Si guess a good question to ask is can PHP do the same procedure as the pdftk.exe, and i can eleminate it.
or how in the heck can i get this data from the DB into a blank PDF form, like i have described??

    Hi
First can I advise you to create your form as stand alone html code, and your form processing script separately, as this will cut down on many of the errors you may get.
This is only an example of defining and using variables, and finding the errors will be your problem.
Taking this line as an example -
    $body.= "<b>Geslacht:</b>  ".$_POST['geslacht'] ."<br />\r\n";
If you wish to include the form value from geslacht in your post as a variable you would first have to declare it using -
    $geslacht = $_POST['geslacht'];
Then you could include it just by inserting - previous code here . "$geslacht" . continue code here;  in your $message variable.

Delete preview cache - that should solve the problem.
It's the .lrdata folder in with your catalog, named something like "My Catalog Previews.lrdata".
Delete entire .lrdata folder, making sure you get the one in the same folder as the catalog you're opening. Do not delete anything else, and if you have something like "My Catalog Smart Previews.lrdata" - that's not it.

When Lr comes up, consider initiating whole-catalog building of standard previews (Library -> Previews menu), lest you be "forever" greeted by temporarily gray thumbnails and "loupe loading" indicator in the future..

Any ideas why I'd be receiving a 404 and causing the Job to Fail? The target crawl location is local to the portal itself - it is all installed on the same machine and the files we're trying to crawl are on the same machine.
i've created a share with read/write etc access by Everyone. The Data Source - Remote is using my domain/name account which has Logon As Batch abilities etc...and should be able to crawl these files.

    My tcptrace says 'invalid hostname'.
I assume that is the hostname of the target given in the Crawler object of where it is trying to attach and not the hostname of the Remote Server where the NTCWS code resides in the CWS Web Service.

  • Error in generating form with 6i

I have installed designer 6i rel 2 with form developer 6i on NT
    4.0.
When in design editor, I want to generate the form with generate
module, the system generate "CDR-21600: A running Generator or
    Utility has failed."
Also in action column writes: " It is possible that the internal
cache is now in an inconsistent state. You are therefore
recommended to close and restart the application."
Could anyone tell me what is the problem and how to solve it.
    thanks

Here is an document which describes some known causes of CDR-
21600 errors. I hope it will help you.
    PURPOSE
To describe some known causes of CDI-21600 errors and to
    suggest possible solutions and workarounds.
    SCOPE & APPLICATION
This note was written for users of Oracle Designer releases 2.1.x
    and 6.0.
CDI-21600 errors occur most frequently during Design Capture and
when generating forms with the Forms and WebServer generators.
    Investigating CDI-21600 errors
In Oracle Designer Release 2.1.2 and Release 6.0, this error has
    the form:
CDI-21600 'A running generator or utility has failed'
The Release 2.1.1 error message was: 'Generator or Utility throw
    an Exception'
The CDI-21600 error message means that the generator is hitting
an unhandled exception, also known as a GPF (general protection
fault). The CDI-21600 error masks the underlying exception error.
To see the real error do the following:
    1. Go into the Registry Editor (REGEDIT).
    2. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\oracle\des2_70
    3. Set EXCEPT_HANDLING to 0 (by default it is 1).
Repeat the action that resulted in the error.
Known Causes of CDI-21600 Errors and Possible Solutions
Some of the reasons why CDI-21600 errors occur are listed below.
    1. A common cause of CDI-21600 errors is failure to install the
    necessary
    Developer patches.
See [NOTE:64630.1] Developer Patches required to run
    Designer with Developer
    2. Check that Designer is running on a supported database. Also
    check that the
    TNS connection is correct.
See [NOTE:60705.1] Designer Certification Matrix (HTML)
    3. Check for 'dangling' foreign keys, in other words FKs no longer
    owned by any
table in the repository. Delete all invalid constraints.
Invalid constraints may be created if you use the repository
    dump utility to
dump and restore external foreign keys referencing tables
    shared into the
application system, without dumping and restoring the tables
    that own them.
If you restore a complete dump (rather than a 'skeleton' one),
    and then use
the 'Reconnect Share Links' option when restoring, you may be
    able to
    resolve this problem.
To get a complete list of 'dangling' constraints in your
    repository, connect
using SQL*Plus and use the following query:
    SELECT app.name, key.name
    FROM ci_application_systems app, ci_constraints key
    WHERE key.table_reference IS NULL
    AND key.application_system_owned_by = app.id;
You can also run CKAZANAL.ANAL_REFERENCES on your
    repository and delete all
the invalid constraints that it finds. You can run the Repository
    Analyzer
from: Front Panel -> Repository Administration Utility -> Utilities.
NOTE: There may be inconsistencies in the repository that the
    Repository
Analyzer cannot fix. You might solve such problems by
    dropping all the
tables of your application, recreate them from the ERD,
    then use the
    DDT and recreate your modules.
[BUG:847190] CDI-21600 during forms generation: 'dangling'
    foreign key
"Since the generator is running on a repository that contains
    invalid
constraints and the Repository Analyzer solves the problem,
    bug closed as
    unfeasible to fix."
    4. Check your modules for invalid or missing references such as
    missing window
    placements.
    5. Try generating your module against default templates and
    object libraries.
    6. When capturing forms or libraries, try capturing the form or
    library without
application logic, then capture the application logic on its own.
See [NOTE:1064690.6] CDI-21600 when capturing design of
    form with
    application logic
[BUG:757541] DESCAP: CDI-21600 error reported when
    capturing with
    application logic
    Fixed In Ver: 6.0
[BUG:926383] Duplicate of [BUG:757541] This has been fixed in
    2.1.2 patch
779559. However you would be advised to apply a later patch
    such as 855635
which fixes more bugs in this area.
    7. Make sure that all objects that are referenced by the form have
    been
captured into the repository before capturing the form.
    8. A CDI-21600 will occur if a lookup usage displays only one
    column of
datatype DATE or if the column of datatype DATE is displayed
    as the first
    item in the block.
    Workaround
Add more column usages to the lookup block and do not
    display the DATE data
type column usage as the first item in the block.
    9. [BUG:810472] CDI-21600 when 'Argument in Caller' is set
    Fixed In Ver: 6.5.3.0
    Workaround
Make sure that you have an argument in the called module that
    is mapped to
the "Argument Passed Value" in the calling module. The only
    way to get this
mapping back once the APV has the <Module Argument> label
    is to delete it
    and recreate it.
    10. [BUG:801736] CDI-21600 on design capture of a form with
    subclassed object
    Fixed In Ver: 6.0.3.1.0 (backport)
    Fixed In Ver: 6.5
You have an item that has been subclassed to an object.
    Checking the Design
Capture option 'Capture Control Blocks' causes the CDI-21600
    error. Uncheck
'Capture Control Blocks' and the problem does not occur. Open
    the FMB in
Forms*Builder and look at Data Blocks -> Items. Break the link
    to the
object, save the FMB, and the form will capture (similar to
    [BUG:794872]).
Alternatively, ensure the link can be established.
    11. [BUG:850436] CDI-21600 on generation of a form with template
    having
    subclassed object group
You try to generate a form out of Designer that uses a user-
    defined
template. If a collection of objects in the template is grouped
    into an
object group, dragged into the object library and then either
    copied or
subclassed into a form, when the form is generated you get a
    CDI-21600
    error.
    12. [BUG:822659] Module generation fails (CDI-21600) with multi-
    column PK having
    long prompt text
    Fixed In Ver: 6.5.3.2
Module generation with multi-column primary key having long
    prompt text
causes CDI-21600 with preference MSGSFT set.
    Workaround
Shorten the prompt text of PKs may not be not applicable. You
    may loose end
    user information.
You may have the same problem with a mandatory compound
    FK. CASEOFG tries to
generate a message '<P1> must be entered', where <P1>
    contains all the
prompts of the bound items from the FK. If you reduce the
    length of the
prompts, or set MSGSFT = NULL or WEDI = S or property
    Mandatory?=No, it
    works correctly.
    13. [BUG:792542] Capturing application logic causes CDI-21600
    (V2 style
    triggers)
    Fixed In Ver: 6.5.5
After removal of the v2 triggers, the form captures/merges OK
    on 5.0.24.8,
provided patch 875027 has not been applied.
    14. [BUG:790877] CDI-21600 if the primary/foreign keys have no
    key components
    Fixed In Ver: 6.5.11
Generating a module with tables having a primary key not
    correctly defined
(no PK component) will cause a CDI-21600 error. This can
    occur when
unloading a module from the RON. If you pick up the module
    (and only the
module) in the unload set, the table and its PK are unloaded as
    a skeleton.
Loading the .DAT file into a new application will create a PK
    without a
    component.
    15. [BUG:771549] CDI-21600 if cannot connect to the DB with
    connect string in
    Options (Compile)
    Fixed In Ver: 6.5.13
If you cannot connect to the DB with the connect string
    specified in options
(Compile), the forms generator will fail with CDI-21600.
This problem occurs when you cannot connect to the DB
    because:
    - the username or password is wrong;
    - or the SQL*Net alias is not defined in the TNSNAMES.ORA
    file;
    - or the SQL*Net listener is not started;
    - or the DB is down.
    16. [BUG:785106] CDI-21600 when generate master detail form
    with preserve layout
[BUG:855812] is a duplicate of this bug.
Fixed In Ver: 5.0.24.6.0 (Bug:860426 Backport request for 2.1.2)
    Fixed In Ver: 6.0
    Fixed In Ver: 6.5.3
You have a master-detail Form with the Master having items
    partly on a TAB
Canvas. Generate Module works OK. You enter Forms Builder
    and move some
items on the tabs (just small changes, items are still on the
    same tabs).
You change the look of the Detail and change Records
    Displayed. Now in
Designer you generate the Module with Preserve Layout. You
    get a CDI-21600
error. The problem might reproduce without doing any changes
    in Forms
Builder, just by generating with Preserve Layout.
    17. [BUG:891306] If primary key column of lookup in check
    constraint comment of
    base table
    Fixed In Ver: 6.5.5
    Workaround
Do not use the name of the bound item that is based on the
    primary key
column of the lookup table in a check constraint comment of
    the base table.
    18. [BUG:896026] Forms gen throws assertion failure in
    CVINI/BUILDACTIONITEM@/CV/CVI/CVIBNI.CPP
    Fixed In Ver: 6.5.7
A problem is caused by a PL/SQL definition (function, package,
    procedure)
being defined as a called module for the module you are trying
    to generate.
To resolve the problem and enable the module to be generated,
    remove all
Called Modules that are PL/SQL definitions (functions,
    procedures or
    packages).
See [NOTE:2107207.6] CDI-21600 during generation of module
    or Assertion
    Failure \cv\cvi\cvibni.cpp
    19. [BUG:812333] CDI-21600 generating a web module after
    adding an unbound item
    Fixed In Ver: 6.5.3.0
Backport [BUG:1280667] raised to fix by 6.0.3.9
You add an unbound item (SQL expression) to a Web module.
    When you try to
generate the module you get a CDI-21600 error. If you delete the
    unbound
item the Web module generates correctly.
In a test case the problem occurred during validation of the
    derivation
text, if the master module component was in a different module.
    A workaround
was to rearrange module components so that this was not the
    case.
    20. [BUG:1627963] CCVDIAG::TRACEGENERATORMESSAGE
    WHEN GENERATING INCORRECT
    DERIVATION EXPRESSION
    Message
CDR-21605: Failed while processing Module <mod> in function
    CCVDiag::TraceGeneratorMessage BOF
    Cause
The generator failed due to an unexpected error - the
error indicates the object the generator was processing
    when it failed.

  • Display error message in forms from function "verify_function"

    Hi,
We have a number of users with our own created profile attached to them.
We have enabled the 'PASSWORD_VERIFY_FUNCTION' for our own profile.
Function "verify_function" is used to validate a user's password.
In "verify_function" we have used "raise_application_error" message in case password validation fails.
    Example:
raise_application_error(-20001,'Password must be minimum 8 characters in length and maximum 30 characters long');Question) "raise_application_error" displays the error message only in SQL Plus prompt. How do I display the same message from Oracle forms?.
I have used DBMS_ERROR_TEXT & DBMS_ERROR_CODE in ON-ERROR trigger. This is not displaying the error message in forms in case validation failed in "verify_function". Oracle simply clears the username/password field with a new window. We want to display the error message that occured in "verify_function".
    Thanks

use the following code in validating the item, e.g when-button-pressed
    begin
    verify_function;
    exception
    when others then
    message(sqlerrm);
    raise form_trigger_failure;
    end ;
    OR
instead of writing a procedure rewrite it as a function to return 1 if password is correct or 0 if password is wrong

    Hi,
When i create and save form in XML Form builder i get an error "The Edit form does not contain  a save button or link", I had even configured the save button but still i get this error. Does any one has idea about this issue.

  • Error in Attachment

    Hi,
I have created Document Entities, Document catgories, Attchment functions. but, when trying to attach the document, when form opens it says
FRM-40815:  Variable Global.A7_1_PK1 does not exist.
How to solve this error.? pl. help urgent.
    Thanks
    Kavi

I'm not using any global variables. Sounds like you do either.
Whenever i'm opening the attachment form, it shows different different variable names like :global.a7_1_PK1, :global.variable.a10_1_pk1 like that..CHeck your "attachment form" for the usage of COPY or NAME_IN
