Forming Secure Connection Problems

I just did a hard reset on my phone cause it was giving me so much problems, now I cant even get to the next screen to test to see if i can connect to my school's email server. I'm stuck on the Forming Secure Connection screen. The error message says "There was a problem with syncing. Can't connect to server. Please chec your network or server settings and try again". It's basically the same setting as I had before with the SSL checked (the IT guy told me I needed it checked). The detail section of the error says AirSAMStateMachine.c1913 14632". any advice would greatly be appreciated.

  • Secure Connection Problems after Yosemite update

    Hi all
I'm using a MacBook Air 2012 and since upgrading to Yosemite, I have had a lot of issues using an Ethernet connection. I was using the same Ethernet connection for Mavericks and there were no problems whatsoever.
None of my apps which use the internet can connect. Examples include Skype not signing in, my Mail app not connecting and being unable to connect to the App Store.
When using Safari and Google Chrome I cannot access secure websites (https), however on Firefox I can access the majority of secure websites. Non-secure websites (http) are not a problem on any browser. Error messages on Safari say "Safari can't open the page (web address) because Safari can't establish a secure connection to the server." On Google Chrome the error message reads, "The connection to (web address) was interrupted."
I have tried and failed with numerous different suggestions including:
    Ensuring correct time and date
    DNS Flush
    Changing Network Location in Preferences
Setting Network Location to Automatic in Preferences
    Turning Firewalls/Anti-Virus Software off
Typing the following commands into the terminal:
              sudo launchctl unload -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.discoveryd.plist
              sudo launchctl load -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.discoveryd.plist
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Start up in Recovery mode. In the OS X Utilities screen, select Get Help Online. A clean copy of Safari will launch. No plugins, such as Flash, will be available. While in Recovery, you'll have no access to your saved bookmarks or passwords, so make a note of those before you begin, if they're needed for the test.
Test. After testing, restart as usual and post the results.

  • IMac G5 Airport Extreme Card WEP/WPA Security connection Problem

I have an iMac G5 (non Intel) and a wireless Belkin 801.g MIMO router. When I have no security setup on the router (ie straight out of the box)then the Airport Express card connects to the network without problems. As soon as I set either WEP or WPA or WPA2 security on the router and input the correct settings in the Airport configuration in system preferences the card sees the Network but will not connect. I simply get the message "error connecting to network". I have a Windows based laptop with built in wireless card and this has no problems at all connecting to the secured network, whether it is WEP or WPA or WPA2. Does anyone have any thoughts or ideas please?

I have the same problem with my new black MacBook and a Netgear router. I can connect to the 'free' networks all around me, my Airport Extreme card sees the wi-fi network in my home that I want to connect to, and my old iBook with its lowly Airport card connected (and still does) with no problem using the '40-bit hex' option when entering the password. But now all of a sudden there are just 'errors' when I try to connect (having tried all the various options, and two different types of passwords or keys as provided by the network administrator). Oh yeah, and of course Apple Support won't help because they don't want to know about problems relating to third-party technology... We can't be the only ones with this problem!

  • "Cannot establish secure connection" problem

Sometimes when I'm outside my Wi-Fi, my Galaxy refuses to connect to the internet. Or, even more strangely, will only allow certain sites. Other times it refuses to connect at all until I get into a Wi-Fi zone.  Isn't the point of having 4G that you don't have to have a Wi-Fi connection to have an internet connection?

Wi-fi is not connected per se with your 4G service. 4G service does provides broadband Internet access for your device such as laptops and smartphones and other wireless products. So yes  it will free you from using Wi-fi but will eat into a limted data plan. Have you check all of your settings for mobile data ?

  • Certificate Problem - Secure Connections Denied

A friend just got her computer back from a loan and now finds that she can't gain access to any secure sites such as webmail. When she tries, she is greeted with the error message
IDENTIFY CERTIFICATE IS NOT YET VALID
UNABLE TO ESTABLISH A SECURE CONNECTION
PROBLEM WITH THE SECURITY CERTIFICATE FROM THAT SITE
I know nothing about security certificates. Any help would be appreciated.

What version of OS X is your friend using? Certificates are referred to by the browsers as indicators of web site safety. If no certificate is present, then an alert message appears prior to the site loading. This gives the user a chance to decide if they want to go any further. Here is a more detailed explanation.l
It's possible the previous user answered "no" to an alert.
Certificates can be viewed, and deleted if necessary, by going to Keychains app. in the Utility folder. On the left panel (at least the Tiger version) you'll see Certificates. Select it, and delete the offending ones.
Also, have her go to the Safari Menu and select "empty cache".
Post back if you require any clarification.

If my first two suggestions didn't work, things get more tricky.
Very rarely, secure connection problems can be caused by issues with Windows cryptographic services. You could try the method in this article about something else:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1593?viewlocale=en_US
You could also try restarting your router.
Do you have any other PCs at your location and if so can they connect to the store?
If you are using a laptop, have you tried another location. (These are tests to see if the problem is PC/router/ISP related)
You can downgrade easily, you need to uninstall iTunes, then install the old version and then rebuild you library from the xml library file as it will not work with the old itunes.
    iTunes 8 download

  • Safari Cannot Establish Secure Connection

    Hello !
i am trying to connect to this site and i always get a Secure Connection Problem.
It is the site of my university where  i check my grades.
I always get the picture i attach.
    It is very annoying tbh.
Any suggestions ? I dont have the same problem when using any other browser or i try to connect via iPad or iPhone.
Only Safari on ML has this issue.
I have switched off all my extensions and it didnot work.
Also i dont have Rapport (or how it is called).
Thanks in Advance for your help.

I can't test the site, but it's presenting an expired server certificate. That may or may not prevent you from connecting to it. Here are some simple steps you can try.
Check that the date (including the year) and time shown by your system clock are correct.
Restart your router and broadband device, if different.
Try another browser, such as Firefox.
If you connect to the Internet through an HTTPS or SOCKS proxy server, follow the instructions in this support article, or deselect the proxy entirely.
Boot in safe mode and try again.
Follow the instructions in this support article to change your DNS settings.
If possible, test on a different network, such as a public Wi-Fi hotspot or the cellular network of your phone.

  • Security setting problems preventing a rerun of a form.

    System Specifications:
Windows XP Professional with Microsoft Internet Explorer browser.
Enterprise Manager URL: http://dell9150:1158/em (there is no Domain Name)
Firewall is set to ON. I have no special software other than Windows XP Pro and
Internet Explorer handling my security. Oracle10g Database with Forms10g.
    Sequence of Events:
    1. Start OC4J Instance and Oracle Forms Builder
    2. Open a previously debugged form, connect to database and run the form.
    3. A sound like a pop-up blocker occurs and I am at the following address:
    C:\Documents and Settings\Bob\Local Settings\Temp\s31o.htm
    4. When I check the pop-up blocker it is ON. If I turn it OFF
the next time I come to this window it is set back to ON?
    I can not add this current address to the pop up blocker exceptions;
however, “dell9150” is listed as an exception.
    5. I also get the message “…Explorer has restricted this file from showing
active content…Click option here…”. When I select “Allow Blocked Content…”
I get a security warning “…run active content” to which I reply YES.
    6. Now the form runs, the forms works just fine, and I am at the address: http://dell9150:8889/forms90/f90servlet
    7. Once I close the form, go back to Builder and re-run the form I get the following
message without ever reaching the internet:
    <html> <head> ORACLE FORMS.</head>
    <body onload="document.pform.submit();" >
    <form name="pform" action="http://dell9150:8889/forms90/f90servlet" method="POST">

    <input type="hidden" name="obr" value="yes">
    <input type="hidden" name="array" value="YES">
    </form> </body></html>
In order to re-run the form I must close out of everything and start from scratch.
I have tried several combinations of setting in the Internet Properties/Security Settings with no luck. If I RESET (I assume this resets all options to the default) the same thing occurs. Obviously, there has to be a way of setting my Internet Options so that I can run a form without this problem but I am lost and could really use some HELP! I am in no way a Windows expert nor a Oracle DBA but I can follow directions. Thanks.

    Try the following solutions :
    1) Check on in IE -> Tools -> Internet Options -> advanced -> allow active content to run in files on My Co
    mputer
    2) Make sure that you have in the Internet Explorer Tools -> Internet Options -> Advanced tab -> Check the check box
Enable third party Browser extensions. It will be under browsing.

  • Secure AFP connection problem

    Hello,
I am having a problem connecting from the outside network to a g5 xserve with AFP over SSH. I just get the msg form the server "Can not make secure connection". It's possible to connect with reduced security, but I would rather not and the culprit isn't the firewall, I turned that off completely to test.
    Any ideas?
    Many thanks,
    Florian

I found this information here (http://forums.macosxhints.com/archive/index.php/t-24225.html):
    {quote:title=mkv22 wrote:}
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=25758
However, you do not have to do all those steps that is mentioned in that Apple support article, at least in Mac OS X Tiger 10.4.6. I did the following excatly:
    1. I enabled SSH server (Remote login) and Personal File Sharing in 'Sharing' preferences pane in System Preferences in the Server running client version of Mac OS X Tiger 10.4.6
    2. This needs to be done only once and that only if you have not previosuly done so or the OS was reinstalled/ upgraded that your Server's key has changed (Please refer to documentation on SSH for explanation on this point's technical details). I SSH-ed into this server from the client in which I intend to connect to the server using AFP. This adds my servers key to a file called known_hosts in a hidden folder, .ssh, in my home folder.
    3. I copied this file '.ssh/known_hosts' to '/etc/sshknownhosts' when logged in as a admin user.
    sudo cp ~/.ssh/known_hosts /etc/sshknownhosts
    4. From the client machine I tried to connect to the server using AFP as usual.
    5. In the login dialogue that appears after clicking 'connect,' please change the options as below (click on the 'wheel' like button and click on 'options' in the lower left corner of the dialogue)
    a. Uncheck 'Allow sending password in clear text'
    b. Check 'Allow secure connections using SSH'
    c. Uncheck 'Warn when connection does not support SSH' - Yes, uncheck this! As the AFP server is not configured to advertise its ability to accept SSH connections, if you do not uncheck this you will be defaulted to 'clear text password' otherwise.
    Hope this helps somebody!

  • How to secure connection in sql server 2008? my main problem is which certificate should i add in mmc

i'm recently working on hardening of sql server 2008. now i face with a problem. my problem is  how to secure connection in sql server 2008?  my main problem is which certificate should i add in mmc? what are these certificates about?and guide
me in choosing the appropriate certificate.
and how should i know that the connection in sql server is secured?
plz guide me from the beginning cause i'm rookie in this subject.
    thanks in advance.

    Hi sqlfan,
Question 1: my problem is how to secure connection in sql server 2008?
Microsoft SQL Server can use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) to encrypt data that is transmitted across a network between an instance of SQL Server and a client application. For more information about Encrypting Connections to SQL Server, please refer to the following
    article:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms189067(v=sql.105).aspx
Question 2: my main problem is which certificate should i add in mmc? what are these certificates about?and guide me in choosing the appropriate certificate.
To install a certificate in the Windows certificate store of the server computer, you will need to purchase/provision a certificate from a certificate authority first. So please go to a certificate authority to choose the appropriate certificate.
For SQL Server to load a SSL certificate, the certificate must meet the following conditions:
The certificate must be in either the local computer certificate store or the current user certificate store.
The current system time must be after the Valid from property of the certificate and before the Valid to property of the certificate.
The certificate must be meant for server authentication. This requires the Enhanced Key Usage property of the certificate to specify Server Authentication (1.3.6.1.5.5.7.3.1).
The certificate must be created by using the KeySpec option of AT_KEYEXCHANGE. Usually, the certificate's key usage property (KEY_USAGE) will also include key encipherment (CERT_KEY_ENCIPHERMENT_KEY_USAGE).
The Subject property of the certificate must indicate that the common name (CN) is the same as the host name or fully qualified domain name (FQDN) of the server computer. If SQL Server is running on a failover cluster, the common name must match the host
name or FQDN of the virtual server and the certificates must be provisioned on all nodes in the failover cluster.
Question 3: how should i know that the connection in sql server is secured?
If the certificate is configured to be used, and the value of the ForceEncryption option is set to Yes, all data transmitted across a network between SQL Server and the client application will be encrypted using the certificate. For more detail about this,
please refer to Configuring SSL for SQL Server in the following article:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms189067(v=sql.105).aspx
If you have any question, please feel free to let me know.
    Regards,
    Donghui Li

  • There is a problem with this connection's security certificate The remote computer cannot be authenticated due to problems with its security certificate. Security certificate problems might indicate an attempt to fool you or intercept any data you send

    Hi,
I have this Windows 2008 R2 on which I installed remoteapp some years ago.
Now the certificate expired and I get the message
"There is a problem with this connection's security certificate
The remote computer cannot be authenticated due to problems with its security certificate.
Security certificate problems might indicate an attempt to fool you or intercept any data you send to the remote computer."
How should I renew the certificate? I already went to certification store and tried to renew certificate with same key but then it says "the request contains nor certificate template information".
    Please advise.

    Jan Hoedt

Does the computer account have Enroll permission to the certificate template?
From the Server running your CA, run mmc, click File then Add/Remove Snap-in...
Add Certificate Templates and click OK.
Find the certificate template, then right click and select properties.  On my CA its call ed RemoteDesktopComputers but might be called something different depending on what what template your certificate is based on.
On the security tab, click Oblect types, check Computers then OK. Enter the Computername and click OK.  Then give your computer account Enroll permisssion.

I am having a problem accessing Bupers Online on OS X Mountain Lion. I get an error that says Safari cant establish a secure connection with Bupers Online. Does anyone have any tips to access Bupers?

I don't use CAC certificates, but since updating to 10.9.3, I too am getting the same error, BUT only with some HTTPS sites (e.g., https://webmail.pairlite.com), not all. Meanwhile, Firefox (was 12.0, now 29.0.1) connects with no issue.
I too have verified date/time is set automatically, checked for (and fixed) disk integrity errors and permissions, and rebooted, all to no avail.
    Update:
Well...heck. Tried accessing the problematic site via the Guest account, and that WORKED. So...back to the drawing board.

Researching the internet shows that people have faced this issue when upgrading Firefox or with certain AntiVirus software conflicts.

I don't understand how I didn't have this issue prior to the migration but now something has changed that no one knows how to resolve.
For reference: I am using FF 28.0 and I am not experiencing this SSL error on any other site other than my own since the migration.
Does anyone have any information on what the web host may be able to do to fix this SSL issue that only occurs for FireFox users?
Thank you for any suggestions you may be able to offer.

Still experiencing this problem and hoping someone may have some ideas to try on the server.
