Hello, in my form is database(date format RRRR-MM-DD) item, which don't populate query. In the table this column format is YYYY.MM.DD HH24:MI:SS. It seems that there are different formats, because i don't have query results in my form. But in previous forms versions I think this bug not be. Maybe someone have advise what wrong i do.
Sorry for my poor english

FRM-40301: Query caused no records to be retrieved. Re-enter.
For example in database column value is '2010.11.11 12:13:14' when in form text item I enter query(2010.11.11), i have this error. In form this text item is set to date and format is RRRR-MM-DD.

    Hi,
    How to add a UDF to the ' item query' form.
      (Inventory->Inventory Reports->Item query)
    Thanks,

    Smitha,
    If you are talking about the SELECTION screen where you enter Item Number, ...... it would not be possible.  But if you want to add the UDF to the List of Items screen.
    Click on Form Settings from this screen and in the Field Name drop down select your UDF

  • Query Non Database items in form

    I need to be able to query non database items in the form.

    Hi,
    Yes you can do this. You have to create control items all of them have same data type and lenght as table's. then you can issue select statement. eg.,
    select field1, field2
    into :item1, :item2
    from table_name;
    Hope this helps

  • Non-Database items in enter-query mode

    I have a form with 2 base table blocks, typical master details situation. I wish to allow a field from the detail block to be queryable from the master block. I was considering adding a non-database item to the master block (visible only when in Enter-Query mode). In a pre-query trigger I would amend the DEFAULT-WHERE property of the master block when the appropriate where clause using the non-database item value. My prototype/test version works fine except the non-database item is not enabled while the master block is in enter-query mode.
    I think basically forms will enable only field s if they are database items and queryable set to yes. There are no more database items I can use to set the non-database item column name property.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Hi Ralph,
    we have several Forms using non-database items as query-items which works fine.
    What we did is following:
    1) create non-database item xy in master-data-block
    2) set property database item to no
    3) set property query allowed to yes
    4) create a pre-query trigger on master-data-block where we change the where-clause (this is forms6i, in 9i we would use the one-time-where-clause)

  • How to query on non database item?

    I am working on AP Invoice form. The Invoice Header block based on table ap_invoices_all, I have database items such as invoice_num, invoice_date, and invoice_amount. I also have some non databases item like supplier and supplier number. I added POST_QUERY:
    declare
    supplier varchar2(240);
    supplier_number varchar2(30);
    supplier_site varchar2(15);
    begin
    select aps.vendor_name, aps.segment1
    into :invoice_header.supplier, :invoice_header.supplier_number
    from ap_suppliers aps
    where aps.vendor_id = :invoice_header.vendor_id;
    Also in PRE-QUERY
    declare
    supplier varchar2(240);
    supplier_number varchar2(30);
    supplier_site varchar2(15);
    invoice_num varchar2(50);
    invoice_date date;
    invoice_amount number;
    begin
    select aia.invoice_num, aia.invoice_date, aia.invoice_amount
    into :invoice_header.invoice_num, :invoice_header.invoice_date, :invoice_header.invoice_amount
    from ap_invoices_all aia
    where aia.vendor_id = (select vendor_id from ap_suppliers where vendor_name = :invoice_header.supplier);
    It's showing fine with Suppier iformation I query by invoices, but I doesn't work when I query by supplier.
    Can anyone help? I really appreciate.

    Hello,
    Thanks for your reply. I think I need to clarify my problem
    Your cursor has the same result as what I have in the post-query:
    Select aps.vendor_name, aps.segment1
    into :invoice_header.supplier, :invoice_header.supplier_number
    from ap_suppliers aps
    where aps.vendor_id = :invoice_header.vendor_id;
    and they both work when I query on a database item, such as invoice_num and the non database item vendor name and vendor number will show up. I am doing ok with this.
    My problem is when I query on vendor name field which is not a database item, such as CLARK PUBLIC UTILITIES, it will not return CLARK PUBLIC UTILITIES only, instead it returned all the suppliers. Could you please help with this? Thanks a lot.

  • How to include non database item in the query

    Hi
    I have a Master-Detail form. where in the detail block one of the field is text item 'X' attached the list of values(Y). Master block includes non database items which is based in the decoding result of the database items for example:
    Gender(Male, Female)>> non database item
    Gender_id(M,F)>>database item
    the form is created based on the template.fmb form for apps. When I run the form in the query mode, i can query about any database item while including query about others non database item does not affect.
    how to can i modify it so this could be handled??
    I know that one way to avoid this issue is to create a view with all my desired field.
    but there should be away to override the build in query used by oracle apps...
    any one has a link, source, document... etc that help on this??
    any idea how to do it without creating a view??
    thnx alot

    Hi HST,
    You can code the handling in POST-Query of the corresponding block to retrive the corresponding data depending on the Queried data.

  • Forms 10g : How to set the Database Item property for an item dynamically ?

    Hello all,
    I have a requirement where I need to set the database item property of an item to TRUE/FALSE
    dynamically at runtime based on certain conditions.
    Earlier, in forms 6i I've used,
    Set_Item_Property (<item_name>, DATABASE_ITEM, PROPERTY_TRUE);
    But in Forms 10g it doesn't recognize this Database_Item property and gives a compilation error.
    Have I overlooked something or has this property become obsolete in Forms 10g ?
    If obsoleted what is the replacement property ?
    Regards,
    Sam

    Some options:
    1. Create a database-view, including the "real" column in databases where it exists and a "dummy"-column in databases where it doesn't exist.
    If that's not possible,
    2. set database="No" for your item and
    -- create a POST-QUERY-trigger which reads the data for that column from the database, if the column exists, and
    -- create a ON-UPDATE-trigger which includes an
    UPDATE_RECORD;
    UPDATE THETABLE SET
      THECOLUMN=thevalue
    WHERE  ROWID=:THEBLOCK.ROWID;3. Base your block on either a select-from-clause, a ref-cursor or a procedure to adjust he query-part,, for saving use a procedure.

  • Database link in forms 6i stopped working in database 10g release 2.

    Hi,
    We have Forms 6i with all patches added.
    We were able to recompile the form that contains database link in database 10g release 1 environment. Recently we migrated to database 10g release 2.
    We still can run the form (previously compiled in database 10g release 1), but when we tried to modify the form and recompile it in databbase 10g release 2,
    the forms developer closed down without giving any error message.
    When we removed any reference to the database link from the form, we were able to recompile the form with no problem. Database Linkd in SQL works.
    The question: what do we need to do in the database 10g release 2 to make the link in forms 6i work?
    Thank you. Lev.

    I recently upgraded my development environment from Forms 10.1.2.0.2 to Forms 10.1.2.3 and am experiencing the same problem -- not able to COMPILE a form that references a database link. The error is: "Error 352 at line 99, column 3 Unable to access another database 'LINKNAME'". This occurs on an UPDATE statement within PL/SQL code in a form trigger that used to compile and work fine.
    I tried the database link in SQL Plus and the link is working fine.
    Database environment is 10g 10.2.0.3 on Windows Server 2003.
    Is anyone able to do this?

  • Querying a record from a non-database item

    I am working in Apex 4.0. I have a page based on a table with the following columns: dktnr, borrower, amount, previous_dktnr, subsequent_dktnr. The precious_dktnr is the dktnr under which the loan was financed in the past, before its assumption or refiancing. The subsequent_dktnr is the dktnr under which the loan is later identified. When a loan is refinanced, it is assigned a new dktnr in a new record, and the old dktnr is placed in the previous_dktnr column of that new record, and the current dktnr is placed in the subsequent_dktnr column of the old dktnr record.
    I created two buttons, one for the previous_dktnr and one of the subsequent_dktnr. When I click either of these buttons, the action redirects to the current page and places the value of either the previous or subsequent dktnr into the dktnr item. This queries the record for the dktnr that has the same value as the previous or subsequent dktnr.
    This works. It allows the user to shuffle back and forth between the two dktnr's.
    One would assume then that, if a non-database item were created, say :P22_QUERY_DKTNR, you would be able to enter an existing dktnr into that item and have a button, using the same logic as the previous and subsequent dktnr buttons, that would be able to return the record for the dktnr entered.
    I have tried this, and it does not work. Can anyone tell me why it does not work?

    Doug,
    Made copies of your two page within your workspace, page 3 & 4.
    The issue was the page did not have a value in session containing your Look_Up value. I altered the Look-Up button to Submit the Page so as to capture the Look_Up value and then added a new Page Branch that was sequenced prior to your existing branch. This new branch sets your P4_DKTNR with the Look_Up value and then returns your results.

  • How to force Work Item Query Policy to refresh its cached query results?

    I have enabled the Work Item Query Policy on my TFS project.  It works as expected, except when using Visual Studio 2013 with the following sequence of steps:
    User selects Check in Pending Changes from the Source Control Explorer
    User enters in the ID of the work item to be associated to the changeset
    User clicks the Check In button
    Work Item Query Policy displays message ' Work item ##### was not found in the results of stored query...'
    User realizes his mistake, and modifies (and saves) the work item so that it is returned in in the query result set
    User clicks the Check In button again expecting the TFS policy to accept the association
    Work Item Query Policy still displays message ' Work item ##### was not found in the results of stored query...'
    Removing the Work Item and re-associating it does not make a difference.  The only workaround that I have found is to close Visual Studio and reopen it.  Does any one have a better solution than this?

    Our setup is different from the one you are using:
    - User is using VS 2013 Update 4.
    - We are running TFS 2010 SP1
    The test case that you described is different from the one that is causing my problem (that scenario works fine for me as well).  I am trying to associate the check in to the same work item both times; whereas, you are associating it to a different
    work item the second time.  I can consistently reproduce the error using the following steps:
    1) Create a query that returns All Bugs in Active state, and set it as the query for the Work Item Query Policy
    2) Create and save a new Bug
    3) Run the query to confirm that the new bug does not appear in the result set
    4) Checkout a file, modify it, save it
    5) Check in the file and associate it to the bug from step 2)
    - the Work Item Query Policy will issue an error message saying that the work item cannot be found in the associated query
    6) Change the state of the bug to Active, and save
    7) Refresh the query to confirm that the bug now appears in the result set
    8) Check in the file again
    - error message from step 5) will not go away

  • Function not returning database rows properly in non-database item

    Hi,
    I have 3 database items that I'd like to concatenate into one field and display it in a non-database item. I have setup two different methods to do this for testing purposes. First, I created three separate database items (SECTION, ROW, & SEAT_NUM) and a non-database item (SEAT). I created a formula (in SEAT) to do the concatenation and this way works fine. For my second method, I created a function where I selected the 3 fields and performed a concatenation into a single value to be returned in a seperate non-database item (SEAT_TEST).
    Here's my function:
    FUNCTION SeatLocation(p_id IN event.id%TYPE)
    RETURN VARCHAR2 IS
    CURSOR a IS
    (SELECT ltrim(rtrim(event.section,' '),' ')||' '||
    ltrim(rtrim(event.row,' '),' ')||' '||
    ltrim(rtrim(event.seat_num,' '),' ') seat
    FROM event
    WHERE event.id = p_id);
    BEGIN
    FOR rec IN a LOOP
    IF rec.seat IS NOT NULL THEN
    RETURN rec.seat;
    ELSE
    RETURN ' ';
    END IF;
    END LOOP;
    END SeatLocation;
    And I'm calling it in a POST_QUERY trigger with the following: :event.seat_test := SeatLocation(:event.id);
    I put both non-database items side-by-side, run the form, and the first method works fine. I doesn't quite work for the function to display in SEAT_TEST. For my program, an ID can have multiple seat locations and I'd like to display all those seats as I scroll through the form (for a given ID). What the function is returning is only the first records seat location even though there are two more locations (from the remaining two records) that need to be displayed, but are not. It works fine for the formula method. Is there a work around this within my function code and/or the SEAT_TEST item? I'd like to keep my function instead because I could use the code elsewhere. I thought that since there is more than one record retrieved for a particular ID, the for loop would return one value each loop iteration and display the different value seat locations as I scroll/arrow down through the form. I didn't know if you had to call the POST-QUERY trigger multiple times for the number or records you retrieve in the cursor. I hope this makes sense.
    Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you,
    Eric

    Even though your function is written to loop through multiple records, as soon as it hits the first one inside the FOR loop, it returns that value. The Return command is an exit, so the function is done, and you cannot expect it to magically run a second time just because the cursor found more than one row.
    You need to pass the function all the parameters to form a unique key into the row you are looking up. ID is not unique.
