Forms 11g - Weblogic Server - Command prompts stay open?

is it right, that i have to logon to the windows server, start the Admin Server for Weblogic Server domain manually,
if i want to go to the Admin Console on port 7001?
is it right, that i have to logon to the windows server, start the Weblogic Server WLS_FORMS manually,
if i want to start any forms?
Today i just want to set up an Oracle application server 11g like we would need for our customers.
So i have installed Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g on a Windows 2003 Datacenter Server in US Version named "center".
I took the US Version just for testing, cause on my machines the Oracle installer runs in german and
may this make the problems i had until now.
i installed the following components:
Server Components
Oracle Forms
Oracle Rerports
Developer Tools
None
Management Components
Enterprise Manager
System Components
Oracle HTTP Server OHS
Clustered: No
Summary after the normal 70 minutes installaltion-prozess:
Type: Oracle Portal, Forms, Reports and Discoverer Installation

h5. First of six installations whithout failures! Yep!
I pressed finish to close the installer and wait about 6 minutes til it was gone ...
^(at the end of this message there is a screenshot from my "half-dead-windows-server" ...)^
when rebooting there must four cmd.exe and one javaw.exe beeing "hard-killed" before shutting down...
After windows reboot:
- http://center:7001/console - not reachable
- http://center:7001/em - not reachable
- EMAgent URL: http://center:5155/emd/main - reachable (with Congratulations :) )
- http://center:8888 - reachable - 11g welcome page
- http://center:8888/forms/frmservlet - not reachable - Failure of server APACHE bridge
- http://center:8888/reports/rwservlet - not reachable - Failure of server APACHE bridge
The Windows Service Oracle Prozess Manager (asinst_1) is up an running.
opmnctl status:
emagent_asinst_1 - alive
ReportsServer_center_asinst_1 - alive
ohs1 - alive
where is a forms_asinst_1-process or something like this ??
after starting the Admin Server for Weblogic Server domain manually,
inclusiv entering weblogic username and password, waiting about 4 Minutes,
http://center:7001/console is reachable.
Under environment / servers / Control in the Weblogic Console, i try to start wls_forms.
Message
For server WLS_FORMS, the Node Manager associated with machine center is not reachable.
All of the servers selected are currently in a state which is incompatible with this operation or are not associated with a running Node Manager or you are not authorized to perform the action requested. No action will be performed.
- may i can set a password somewhere? i did not found ...
So i start manually the Weblogic Server WLS_FORMS
inclusiv entering weblogic username and password and waiting about 2 Minutes.
Then the WLS_FORMS Server in the Weblogic Admin Console is running.
h5. I log off from the windows console and all manually started servers and services are down. *(?!)*
h5. Is there another way to start the forms server without having dos-boxes open ?

  • Porting from Oracle 10g AS to Oracle 11g Weblogic server

    Hi,
I am trying to port J2EE applicatin from Oracle 10g AS to Oracle 11g Weblogic Server. I have jsp files which contains sql code embedded to fetch data from the DB. The components used in this application are Java, JSP, Servlets and Stateless session beans.
I have a commonjar which is used to create DB Connection manager and other common stuff which is present inside web-inf/lib. My application is packaged as an ear and which contains the war and different ejb-project.jar files. When the Stateless bean is trying to call the ConnectionManager class, which is present inside the commonjar inside web-inf/lib, I get InvocationTargetException. When I debugged in Eclipse, I see that that inside ejb the reference ConnectionManager, the variable cannot be resolved. So I guess at runtime, ejb is not able to locate ConnectionManager Class.
I tried to copy this jar to APP-INF/lib and the same jar is present inside web-inf/lib as well. In that case what happens is the jsp fails with the exception ConnectionManager cannot be resolved.
How can I make the ejb work by keeping the commonjar inside web-inf/lib alone.
    Any help or suggestions?
    Thanks
    Raj

The classloader hierarchy in WLS looks like this (arrows denote inheritance direction):
Java bootstrap classloader <- Java CLASSPATH classloader <- WLS $DOMAIN_HOME/lib classloader <- Application (e.g., EAR) classloader <- web app classloader <- single JSP classloader
The Connection Manager is loaded by the web app classloader while the EJBs are loaded by the application classloader so the EJBs have no visibility to the classes loaded by the child (web app) classloader.
The simplest fix might be to move the Connection Manager jar file to the EAR file's APP-INF/lib directory.
One word of caution though, you need to be using WebLogic Server's Data Sources and JDBC connection pooling to make sure that you correct transactional behavior if the application is doing any sort of JTA transaction (regardless of whether the JTA transactions are using XA or not...).
    Hope this helps,
    Robert

  • How to start developing forms with weblogic server???

I am a beginner. I saw someone working on developer 6i and I love the ease so I come to oracle. BUT now I find this weblogic server for desktop applications (forms) too.
    1. Please recommend me a book for developing desktop applications in weblogic server.
    2. Is it possible to use Mysql as database while developing forms in weblogic server?
    Many thanks

I am a beginner. I saw someone working on developer 6i and I love the ease so I come to oracle. BUT now I find this weblogic server for desktop applications (forms) too.You have to keep in mind that Oracle Developer Suite 6i (Forms/Reports) is over 10 years old and was primarily a Client/Server development environment. Yes, a Forms 6i application could be deployed to the web, but infrastruction has changed many times in the 10+ years since Forms 6i was introduced.
    1. Please recommend me a book for developing desktop applications in weblogic server. Are you talking about an Oracle Forms application deployed through the WebLogic application server? If so, take a look at Developing Oracle Forms Applications or Oracle9i Developer: Developing Web Applications with Forms Builder. These are older books, but they will give you the basics of Oracle Forms development. Once you have the basics of Forms Development, then you can refer to the product documentation for specifics on the particular version of Forms you are using:
Oracle Forms 10g Online Book - Contents or <a href="http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12839_01/index.htm>Oracle Fusion Middleware Documenation LIbrary</a> and select the Portal, Forms, Reports and Discoverer option.
{quote2. Is it possible to use Mysql as database while developing forms in weblogic server?{quote
You can use MySQL with your web app only if you are not using Oracle Forms! Oracle Forms will only communicate with an Oracle Database. There are methods available to access data from non-Oracle database, but they involved linking your Oracle Database to the non-Oracle database and accessing the data through the Oracle Database.
    Hope this helps,

    InoL, Thank you very much.
I know rp2rro.pll was there, and I compiled it successfully, and place it to the correct folder.

I solve this problem replacing the code inside my custom library with the rp2rro.pll code that comes with forms 11g

  • OAM 11G Weblogic Server Not listening

I have installed few things including OAM, OAAM, entitlement server etc using the 11G installation suite. (on windows 2003 server)
Also I have installed the weblogic server (forget the version, should 11 something).
I have created the weblogic domains for OAM
I have done RCU with no error message, tables created.
There seems to be no error during the installation. I ironed the steps that there are no more warning and error message.
I started weblogic server. It goes to the point to a "STARTED" state. not in RUNNING STATE. ANd the windows console stay still.
When I try to access admin console 7001 weblogic. Seems that the server is not listening, I cannot access to the user interface.
Meanwhile there are no error messages or exceptions I can trace while the weblogic server is not working.
Personally I do not feel the weblogic server is not listening because of the memory leak.
When I observe the windows task manager, I saw memory leak, the memory of the server increase steadily even the weblogic is not working. After half an hour, it throw out of memory exception. I tried to play with the heap size of java to 1024G, but no help. Problem is it is leaking no matter how much memory allocate there will be problem.
Can anyone tell me is there some steps I am missing? or is there known bugs? Or what else I can do to troubleshoot this?
I can provide you all the version of the software I am using. AFter two weeks.... since the lab would be down for renovation purposes.
    Thanks
    Eric

  • Command window stays opened at the end of script execution

    Hello everyone,
Since I install Windows 2012 R2 systems, the command window opened when I execute my batch scripts often stay opened even if the script has ended.
As an example if I double-click a batch file, if the last line of the script is "echo here", it displays "here" and the window is not closed by Windows (it's not active of course, it just stays opened).
I found an easy way to trigger the (apparently) same problem. Do like this:
    - right click the Windows button at the bottom left. Select "Command prompt"
    - in the command window type "mstsc"
    - close mstsc clicking on the close button
    - type "exit" in the command window (or click the close button)
Now the command prompt is "frozen". I cannot type any command in it and I have to click the close button a second time to close it.
Anyone has an idea what is causing this?
    Thanks

    Hi Anna,
Sorry. I didn't receive any update notification email :-/
I tried using "start" as you suggested by you and the article you gave. No change at all.
To explain better I did a video you can see here : http://pferrucci.perso.sfr.fr/Issue/  (unfortunately I couldn't do it better).
    It shows :
    - I open a command prompt as Administrator (just to be sure, but it's the same as a non-admin user)
    - I run taskmgr and I close it when it opens
    - at this point, I type "exit" to close the console window. NOTE: at this moment you can see the window title changes from "Administrator : command prompt" to "command prompt". Maybe it is of interest.
    - from now on, I can't type anything at the prompt. It is just disabled.
    - I click on the close button once (see below)
    - I open a second command prompt as Administrator. I run taskmgr and I close it.
    - at this point, I click the close button once to close the console window. The button reacts but the window stays opened. At this point I could type some text at the prompt, the prompt would not react. It is just disabled.
    - I click on the close button a second time.  The Window goes away.

  • Redirecting output to J2EE server command prompt

I am finding difficulty with reading the system.out.println() given in the server side code. J2SDK redirects it to System.out file, but most of the time, I am not
getting the results. I tried to restart the server to get the value from buffer.
But thats not working either. Is there any way for getting the output in the server prompt itself. Can I do any configuration changes for this.

Start the J2EE server from the command prompt with "-verbose" option.

  • Forms & Reports & Weblogic server?

I have installed Forms & Reports for development on windows 7 (localhost only). The Weblogic server seems to be working fine with Oracle Forms but what do I need to do to get Oracle Reports working? Do I need to edit the rwserver.conf file? If so what is needed for a simple localhost install? I then need to manually start the rwserver?

this is what you need to do in linux:
change the name of the report in rwserver.conf and netwrok.conf file
modify the configuration file to not use single sign on
correct username and password in cgicmd.dat
Pls let the thread know if this works.

  • FORMS 11G & WebLogic Version

    Hi,
How I can know which is the compatbile version of forms with weblogic version?
    For forms 11.1.1.2.0 ? WebLogic ?
    For forms 11.1.1.6.0 ? WebLogic ?
    For forms 11.1.2.0.0 ? Weblogic?
    Regards,

The version numbers mostly match in Release 1. So notice the last digit. This only applies to FMw 11.1.1.x (Release 1)

  • Unsuccessful attempt to install FORMS 11g

    Hello all,
    OS: Windows Server 2008 R2 64 bit
    DB: 11gR2
These are the steps I took in my attempt to install FORMS 11g:
    1) Install JDK6U22 Windows 64 bit
    2) Installs wls1033_generic.jar from http://download.oracle.com/otn/nt/middleware/11g/wls1033_generic.jar
    3) Installs RCU from http://download.oracle.com/otn/nt/middleware/11g/ofm_rcu_win32_11.1.1.3.3_disk1_1of1.zip (this is the only place where issue arises. I chose everything except Oracle Adaptive Access Manager and Oracle Adaptive Access Manager (Partition Support) because our test environment is NOT Enterprise version). Another possible issue is the zip files - it's for 32 bit; but I can't find 64bit.
    4) Installs Fusion Middleware (all 4 files downloaded) starting from http://download.oracle.com/otn/nt/middleware/11g/ofm_pfrd_win_11.1.1.2.0_64_disk1_1of1.zip
    5) Patch with http://download.oracle.com/otn/nt/middleware/11g/ofm_pfrd_win_11.1.1.3.0_64_disk1_1of1.zip
    6) Configure using Oracle Classic 11g - Home1, Configure Classic Instance (run as Administrator). Here I unchecked PORTAL and DISCOVERER because I just need FORMS and REPORTS.
    7) New rule on firewall to allow port 9001.
    Issue:
Move my existing 10g FMX to {directory}\MIDDLEWARE\AS_1\FORMS
    http://myservername:9001/forms/frmservelet?form=xxx.fmx doesn't come up.
Move my existing 10g FMX to {directory}\MIDDLEWARE\ASINST_1\FORMSCOMPONENT\FORMS
    http://myservername:9001/forms/frmservelet?form=xxx.fmx doesn't come up.
http://localhost:9001/console on the server doesn't return anything. But, Oracle Process Manager (asinst_1) service is started.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    -andy-

I started the weblogic from Middleware\user_projects\domains\ClassicDomain\startweblogic.cmd. Annoyingly, I cannot close the Command Prompt and not kill the weblogic console. But I am able to get to http://localhost:7001/console.
However, I cannot start WLS_FORMS and WLS_REPORTS from the console with the following error:
For server WLS_FORMS, the Node Manager associated with machine xxx is not reachable.
All of the servers selected are currently in a state which is incompatible with this operation or are not associated with a running Node Manager or you are not authorized to perform the action requested. No action will be performed.Came across this Forms 11g - Weblogic Server - Command prompts stay open? but did not say how WLS_FORMS got started. The only suggestion I see in that thread was a suggestion for the Command Prompt annoyance; which is, requiring a service account to keep the command prompt running on the service account logged in.
Another thread http://kr.forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=933484 seems to suggest just contact Oracle Support and let them set it up.
I did look at the manual http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14571_01/install.1111/e10421/install.htm#BABHJFIC without much help there.
Edit: Started WLS_FORMS by going to Oracle Classic Instance, Forms Services, Start Weblogic Server - WLS_FORMS. http://localhost:7001/console shows the state for WLS_FORMS as ADMIN. I don't know what that means; but I still can't get to http://localhost:9001/forms/frmservlet
    Any other suggestions?
