Forms 4.5 fmb's cannot be opened in 6i
I got 100 Forms4.5 fmb's and cannot open them on my Windows XP Forms 6i notebook...
Error: Cannot open file, when doubleclicking in the Open-File Dialog.
I thought Forms 6i can open 4.5, 5.0 and 6.0 files ?
Patch 13 should be enough. None of the fmb files are opening??
Usually I used to see this error either when the windows file type gets confused (but it opens from open dialog) or when the fmb is corrupted or when the files were not unzipped correctly.
Do you have other copies? were these files zipped and unzipped?

Tony

When my appointment reminder window openes and I cancle a reminder I get a popup that says:
Microsoft Outlook
The form region
"Apple.DAV.Appointment: cannot be opened. The form manifest specifies and add-in that is not installed.
When I dismiss and apointment this error pops up.
I called Apple to see if it had anything to do with their software and they researched it and said not but they did say they had learned it dealt with reocurring appointment. That is a lot of what is in the calendar.
Any help would be a ppreciated is solving this. Geeorge Payne

George PayneI just spent the morning fixing this problem on Outlook 2007. I have no idea why it started,
since I hadn't upgraded any Outlook or Apple software recently. Maybe it was the latest batch of Windows 7 updates? The solution was to enable and check both the iTunes and
iCloud add-ins in the Trust Center. FYI, here's how I arrived at that conclusion:
I tried disabling all add-ins and re-enabling them one by one, but that didn't fix the problem. I upgraded iTunes, but still no joy. I noticed that neither the iTunes nor iCloud add-ins were checked in Outlook (they hadn't been for months, maybe years).
I tried disabling both but that didn't help. I tried removing them, but that didn't work, either (and I had to figure out how to add them back in). Finally, I tried enabling and checking them both. That did it.
FYI, I don't use iCloud to sync my data. I tried that once and it destroyed my Outlook calendar. -
I am trying to add a new workflow to a document library with the below mentioned settings and getting error saying "This form cannot be opened in a web browser. to open this form use microsoft infopath" while adding a new Approval - Sharepoint
2010 and Publishing Approval workflow" . For your information the I have checked the server default option to open in browser.
Versioning Settings.

This is quiet urgent issue . Any help would be really helpful.. Thanks..Hi Marlene,
Thank you very much for your suggestions.
But I am not creating a custom workflow in designer as Laura has mentioned. I am instead trying to create a new Out of the box Approval Workflow and I get the error mentioned above.
As it works in other environment, I tried figuring out the possible differences which can lead to this error.
Today I found one difference which is there are no form Templates within Infopath Configurations in Central Admin. Now I am trying to figure out what makes this form templates to be added to the template gallery.

I'm running Exchange Server 2007, Outlook 2010 and Lync 2010.
Unified Messaging is enabled. When a voice mail is left, the voice mail is delivered to my Inbox, but the message will not open. I get the error "The form region "UmOutllokAddinRA" cannot be opened. Outlook will use the default form instead."
If I have the Conversation History Add-in for Microsoft Lync 2010 enabled, I also get the error "The form region "IPM.Note.Microsoft.Missed.Voice.Region" cannot be opened. Outlook will use the default form instead." Disabling the
add-in clears the error.
Uninstalling Lync did not help so I'm not sure if that is the issue or not. I've tried reinstalling Outlook and Lync to no success.
Any thoughts?I am getting the same thing with Exchange Server 2010, Outlook 2010, and Lync 2010.
It appears to be a client side error.
Anyone have any ideas on this? -
InfoPath form cannot be opened on Windows 8.1, Office 2013 32-bit
We develop an InfoPath form using InfoPath 2013 on Windows 7 64-bit, Office 2013 64-bit. The most common user environment is Windows 7 64-bit, Office 2010 32-bit, and the form runs just fine there.
Some of our users are upgrading to Windows 8.1 and cannot run the form. They are using Office 2013 32-bit as that is our corporate standard. The form opens correctly using Office 64-bit.
We cannot even open the form in InfoPath Designer when running Office 2013 32-bit, getting the message:
Not enough storage is available to process this command
If we make a small form, it can be opened, but our full production form fails.
Is there a resource we are short on? Has our form gotten too big to be run on Office 32-bit? We have spent a good deal of time trying to find an answer, but have had no luck.
PaulWe understand there’s an error “Not enough storage
is available to process this command” when you try to open a list in InfoPath 2013. After some research, I found some users ran into similar issues, and
finally resolved them by clearing the temporary file folders, changing the disk usage space, or increasing the value of a registry entry. Here I offer these threads, and if it’s convenient, you can take a look at them and check if they could offer something

APP-FND-01050: This flexfield cannot be opened because it has no displayed
Hi,
I am new to Oracle EBS R12.I created a profile and assiged "Indian HRMS Manager"
when i try to select Respnsibilities->work structure:Grade->Description
I got the Error
APP-FND-01050: This flexfield cannot be opened because it has no displayed segments. Please contact your system administrator.
Modify your flexfield definition to display one or more segments.
This may also be caused by incorrect use of the DISPLAY= token to the flexfield user exits in the form. In that case, please contact your support representative.
APP-FND-00730: This flexfield has an invalid value set. It may use a special value set that uses an Edit event user exit,
and the user exit has failed. If you are using a form on a graphical user interface (GUI) you may have an invalid value set
of a different type, possibly a table-validated value set where the table or view does not exist or
where there is an invalid WHERE clause.
Contact your system administrator or support representative to check and correct the value sets this flexfield uses.
how to solve this error................Go to system administrator, choose define Key Flex field window. Query for the Grade KFF structure used for your business group. Check how many segments you have defined for it. Also check if at least one of them is enabled and displayed.
This would make it clear why you are getting the error. Correct it by creating/enabling/displaying at least one segment. That's it !! -
Publisher - pdf - "This file cannot be opened because it has no pages"
Hi,
I have a Publisher report which works fine as a single page when generated to pdf.
I change the data model to give me multiple pages and insert the entire report content into a repeating frame which correlates with the header data that is definitely present for all records. ceteris parabus.
I preview this in interactive mode - everything works okay.
I preview this in pdf and I get the error; - "This file cannot be opened because it has no pages"
This is on well formed XML with a very modest data set.
Anyone have a fix or a pointer for this please??
thanks,
Robert.Known bug.

When I go into bookmarks and click on a site, the screen shows what appears to be a compass with a lock overlay, on a black background. At the bottom the address/url are shown. Theses cannot be opened. Other bookmarks have the black background and compass, but no lock. These can be opened by clicking on the compass. What is wrong?
Thanks to the-edmeister and cor-el, for speed of response. I had not inadvertently moved the Bookmarks-Toolbar : I was confronted with the situation right after Firefox 9 had installed and unfolded in front of me. At first, the toolbar area looked reassuringly familiar, but when I started normal work, I discovered the lack of tabs and the only reference I could see to TABS was a tiny button inviting me to group tabs (which was unhelpful to say the least, filling up the screen with tiny unreadable windows). Sure, there were tabs forming, but they were invisible, unless I used the group button. Eventually, I was brave enough to use "reset toolbars" and the tabs came back in the way I want them, but it was a traumatic 2-3 hours out of my life. I kept on "adding a new toolbar" to see if I could make use of it; I kept giving them names, but it is impossible to see where the new tool bar is! (the toolbars don't have a little bit to grab at one end). In my opinion, Firefox should not have allowed the Tab Bar and the Bookmarks Toolbar to become caught up with each other - they have completely different functions. I don't think I would like to play around with "Make a new profile"! I was so desperate that I have already downloaded version 3.6 again, ready to install, for if I was unable to resolve the version 9 problems above.

How to compile form orginal file(*.fmb) in UNIX environment
These days, i encounter a problem, i create a form application in Windows2000 or WindowsXP environment, then i compile this .fmb file to .fmx, then i transport this .fmx file to Unix environment which is our Application Server, the Oracle Application Server is in this Unix environment, i put this file in the directory which is directed in the Forms_Path variable, however, when i started to run this application by entering a valid url, the message shows that this fmx file is not runtime file, someone told me that i should recompile the orginal file under unix environment, so i transport the orginal file(.fmb) to unix environment, then i want to use the f90genm tool to compile the .fmb file, however, it shows that this command can not execute, it shows that can not open a lib file under:/project/.../../..,however, this directory does not exist at all, what case this error? i also use f90gen command, it shows: can not execute/finish creation, i want to know, how to use the two commands and what parameters i should set before using the commands? thanks
If you are talking about forms 10g then here is the method
1) run x windows interface on your machine
2) login to linux server
$ export DISPLAY=<IP address of machine>:0.0
$ frmcmp.sh module_type=form module=myform.fmb userid=user/password@connectstring compile_all=yes

JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.
For example:
<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>
When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

We have an SharePoint services 3.0 installation that uses custom web parts on 100s of subsites. The custom web parts on any website is presenting this error
Web Part Error: A Web Part or Web Form Control on this Page cannot be displayed or imported. The type could not be found or it is not registered as safe.
This past weekend we decided to create a new database server and migrate the databases to the new server in an effort to retire an old box.
INitially we attempted to go through the configuration wizard which didnt do anything but add a new database server to our farm. What we have done is remove the new database server from the farm and use an alias on the SP server to continue to use
the same name but actually get its data from the new database server.
Everything works with the site except these custom webparts.
Any thoughts on where to go to first, should i redeploy what i think are the webparts from VS 2005 (solutions are VS 2005 slns.)?
Tony SpauldingYou need to make Safe Control enteries in your web.config for the particular web application.
Open web.config
Locate the SafeControls Tag
Make a safe control entry
<SafeControl Assembly="Assembly name, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=d8eb6481d8b4beec" Namespace="your webpart namespace" TypeName="*" Safe="True" />
In order to find the assembly details, Open the GAC. Right click on your dll and then click properties. -

External Fire Drive - All files cannot be opened
Hi, I have a Prolific PL3507 Combo External Firewire Drive. All data on the device cannot be opened by its application or any application - Photoshop, Illustrator - iTunes - iPhoto - Pages etc etc.
A get info shows the file as being whatever the file is, complete with its application icon, but it will not open "unknown format type" error is reported. Working fine for over a year, then today . . .
iTunes + iPhoto hangs. Copying the file to my desktop doesn't help. If I now create a new Illustrator file and save it to the external, it will open again, but all previous files will not open.
I have run 'Cocktail' + 'Disk Utility' form the install DVD with no success.
Please please please help someone.Back up all data.
Boot into Recovery by holding down the key combination command-R at the startup chime. Release the keys when you see a gray screen with a spinning dial.
Note: You need an always-on Ethernet or Wi-Fi connection to the Internet to use Recovery. It won’t work with USB or PPPoE modems, or with proxy servers, or with networks that require a certificate for authentication.
When the OS X Utilities screen appears, follow the prompts to reinstall the OS. You don't need to erase the boot volume, and you won't need your backup unless something goes wrong. If your Mac was upgraded from an older version of OS X, you’ll need the Apple ID and password you used to upgrade, so make a note of those before you begin. -
