Forms 9i: Documentation, Samples

Are there any documentation or samples on how to use the JDAPI and XMLTOOLS packages for Forms 9i that can be downloaded? Draft versions of books would be very nice (or are there published books already?) Thanks.

The Demo Set for Forms 9i comes with a bunch of JDAPI samples. You should see this downloadable from the Forms Pages in the next day or so,
There is fairly extensive documentation on the JDAPI and the XML tools in the online help. We don't have any specific papers published yet.

  • Oracle Forms: Technical Documentation Generator Tool (FoReDoclet, HTML)

    Dear Oracle Forms Developers,
    Nostran Computing has released FoReDoclet, our technical documentation generator tool for Oracle Forms:
    Technical features:
    - Generates HTML documentation about form, menu, PL/SQL library and object library source files similarly to JavaDoc.
    - Uses the Comment property of internal objects (blocks, parameters, alerts)
    - Parses pl/sql elements (procedures, functions, packages, triggers) as well as standard internal elements.
    - The generated HTML documentation is highly customizable by style sheets or direct template modification.
    - Accepts HTML codes in Comments property fields and PL/SQL comment blocks.
    Business benefits:
    - Eliminates the need of writing separate technical documentation, works directly from the source.
    - Provides a low-cost and efficient way of producing high-quality technical documentation for Oracle Forms based applications.

  • Is VSTA 2012/2013 officially supported? Any documentation/samples?

    Hi,
    We are looking for replacement for APC SDK 7.1 that we are currently using.
    I have found some downloads for "Visual Studio Tools for Applications" 2012 and 2013.
    http://www.microsoft.com/en-ca/download/details.aspx?id=30668
    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=44212
    Are they official products? Are they supported by Microsoft or anybody else?
    I searched MSDN Subscription for VSTA 2012/2013 and nothing come up. I also searched msdn library for VSTA documentation and the only one available is v2.0 for Visual Studio 2008.
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-CA/library/cc175562(v=vs.90).aspx
    Is there any documentation in addition to VSTA Sample Host Integration.docx?
    Is there any C# sample on how to integrate it to the app and how to bind it to the application object?
    Thanks,
    Anna.

  • Documentation / Samples DAM - Inbound Refinery

    Hi,
    Where i can find documentation or samples (source code) of Inbound Refinery /DAM usage.
    My only way is to decompile de DAMConverter component - not acceptable!
    I need the documentation of the docrefinery JAVA package.
    Thankz,
    Pedro Senos

    <p>
    The Administration portion of the Install_admin_dam_10en.pdf, assuming you are using the CS10g, document has information that will help you figure out what you will need to get started if you choose to do the following.
    </p>
    <p>
    Let me start by clarifying that I work in Windows environment using VB, C# and Idoc script. The following is based on my experiences and information I've collected from the Oracle/Stellent documentation.
    </p>
    <p>
    In response to the "I'd like to integrate with other tools than FlipFactory or Image Alchemy. For instance, FFMPEG, Image Magick, etc." question. You can customize the Inbound Refinery (IBR) to use any conversion tool you wish, assuming you have the knowledge and ability to build the integration component. The Digital Asset Component (DAM) has two parts, the Content Server portion and the IBR portion. To use a specialized tool in the Content Server web interface you will need to modify both. If not, then you should be able to add a different third-party conversion engine.
    </p>
    <h4>Building a conversion or processing engine</h4>
    <p>
    There are many different ways to integrate a conversion engine into the IBR. The easiest way, I know of, is to add the a custom engine as an extra conversion to IBR. The custom_conversions_75en.pdf guide under the Content Server documentation\developer is the best place to start. Section 3 of the guide is for VB and section 4 is for Java. Remember this is only a launching pad, a place to start. I built an app to open Photoshop since we use only the Image portion right now. The integration method is the same for Image and Video. The app should open the file, do the conversions you require and close that process thread. This is where the custom_conversions_75en guide will help. The guide provides information on how to integrate the application into the refinery. If you want the process to be an option under DAM, you can modify the DAM comp adding the new app as a rendition set. The information is in the DamConverterSupport component readme.txt file.
    I hope this helps.

  • Message to Forms Product Management Sample codes

    Hi,
    Where do i get sample code for integration of forms with smart card, usbs, serial ports, scanner devices, rfid and many other similar technologies.
    regards

    Hi
    I have gone through your following site and seen lot of useful java beans usages in forms.
    http://forms.pjc.bean.over-blog.com
    Now, what i am looking is not availble on this site.
    I am sure, many of us must have felt need to work with usb/smart card, scanner
    integration with forms (web).
    But nobody has put any sample codes here.
    That's the reason i wanted to initiate.
    Currently, my requirement is to read the client machine repository and find out any usb device is connected to it, if yes then what type of device it is and how i can receive/transmit data to that device.
    for simplicity. i will take a small example.
    i want to know whether USB drive is connected to client machine, and what is the capacity, manufacturer, model number, device id and drive letter assign to that drive.
    i can do it easily using windows cscript and then reading the output into forms variable using webutil, but this opens a separate window, which i don't want
    regards.

  • Forms 3 documentations

    Hi,
    I'm looking for Forms 3 (developer) documentations. Can you help me please ?
    Many thanks before.

    I have a copy of the Forms 3.0 manual. If it's a specific question then I can try and look it up for you - but don't expect a quick reply as the manual is in storage and I'll have to find it.
    FWIW :o) I've possibly got Forms 2.0, the 2.3 addendum and IAF somewhere too ! .... needless to say NOBODY has asked about those ...

  • Oracle forms 10g (win Xp middle tier IE 8             Win 7- IE 8 client)

    forms services 10.1.2.0.2
    Database 11gR2 also on Win Xp pro SP3
    Hi
    I have a problem with java and Jinitiator and my understanding of what is / should be happening.
    In the file forms/server/formsweb.cfg see below. I can alter the parameter
    baseHTMLjinitiator=basejini.htm
    ###baseHTMLjinitiator=basejpi.htm
    between the two alternatives. As it stands as shown the IE8 on the middle tier and on the database PC both work as near correctly as i can tell. On the Win 7 client IE 8 however crashes. switch it to the other way around and the
    win 7 works and the win xp on the database server stops with frm-92095 error version number too low. while on the middle tier Xp PC a blank doucument is displayed.
    How can i have both working at the same time please. I you need more information i will happily supply it.

    You have a mixture of problems here.
    1. Oracle Jinitiator is not supported for use on Windows 7
    2. JRE 1.7 is not supported for use with any version of Forms on any platform. Be sure you do not have this version installed.
    3. JRE 1.6 is not supported for use with Forms 10.1.2.0.2, however is supported with 10.1.2.3 (10.1.2.0.2 + patch ID 5983622) and only with IE 8
    4. In order to use Win 7 with Forms 10 in a certified and supported manner, you must use 10.1.2.3 (meaning 10.1.2.0.2 + patch ID 5983622).
    In short, my recommendation would be the following:
    o Patch to 10.1.2.3 (assuming you have access to MyOracleSupport)
    o Don't bother trying to use Oracle Jinitiator as it is old and has been desupported for a long time.
    o Uninstall any instances of Jinitiator as it can cause conflicts with other JRE installations.
    o Uninstall all instances of JRE 1.7. Reconfig your formsweb.cfg to use the JRE (Java Plugin) 1.6.0
