Forms and Reports on Windows XP

Is there a work around to get Forms & Reports to install on
Windows XP?

If you are familar with how Windows works, it can probably be done. The trick will likely be that before attempting to install, you will need to first remove references to version 10 from the system PATH and be sure that ORACLE_HOME is not set. Next you will need to understand that you won't be able to use both at the same time. in fact, it is unlikely that you will be able to have enough RAM installed on an XP machine to support Forms/Reports 11. The minimum requirement for the install is 2gig RAM installed and I believe 4 available (this means at least 2gig swap). That is the minimum. I can tell you from experience that if you don't have at least 3gig of RAM installed you will hardly be able to use it. Also, be sure that you read the installation guide and system requirements guide. You will need to have a static IP address or install the Winodws Lookback adapter before attempting the WLS or FMw installation.
So, the short answer... yes, it can be done, but I would not recommend it. ;)

  • Date format in forms and reports in windows 7

i have problem with date format in developer 10g and developer 6i
it show date in this format 2011/25/1
it sould be like this 25/1/2011
    how i can reslove this
    in xp it work fine

Are you generating Forms and Reports from Oracle Designer, or using Oracle Developer tools directly?
If this is a Forms question, try the Forms forum - Forms
If this is a Reports question, try the Reports forum - Reports
Either way, or with Designer, the problem is probably that you are allowing the date format to default instead of explicitly specifying a date format. Always specify the date format - you want "DD/MM/YYYY".

    Hi!
I suppose you will find at '$ORACLE_SERVER/.../bin' a script ended by ".sh" which has enviroment values defined since tour installation. This is useful to do your work. (I don't remember his name, but is the same that executable to compile).
    Chiao!

  • Installing Forms and Reports 6i on Windows Me

Has any one found a work around to install Forms and Reports 6i on Windows Me, I keep getting an error message. I already have Oracle 8i Personal Edition 8.1.5 installed and working on my machine.

    Hi Jan,
I haven't tried to run Forms and Reports on Windows Server 2003, but I have worked on Windows XP and UNIX with F/R 6i 9i and 10g. I never had much luck with 9i Forms and Reports, 10g rel 1 was better, but 10g rel 2 is best. I recommend you bite the bullet and convert to 10g AS, Forms & Reports 10g rel 2. After running your 6i F/R to 10g through the converter, you may need to adjust fonts and colors.
Regarding your specific question, I am surprised that the rwrun60 works at all with 9i AS. And rwrun90 probably won't run the 6i version of your reports without recompiling in the 9 version.
    Hope this helps,
    Frank

  • Running Forms and Reports 6i on Windows Server 2003

    Hello,
Has anyone managed to get Forms and Reports 6i (running on 9iAS web) to run succesfully on Windows Server 2003? If so would you mind sharing what you needed to do to get it to work. I don't care about any of the other components of 9iAS other than forms and reports. Also is it possible to run on the 64bit version of this OS?
The problem I'm encountering (on the 64bit version of Windows) is that I can't get our webforms to launch any reports. The forms run just fine. I can run the report manually using rwrun60.exe and entering all the parameters by hand. BUT when I run the report from within the form a rwrun60.exe process starts and runs at full cpu. After a bit it dies but the form still continues to wait for it. The only way to get out is to close the browser and forcefully kill the form instance. If anyone has any ideas on what this could be any help is appreciated.
    Thanks

  • Deploying Forms and Reports on Linux

We are using Forms and Reports 6i in Client/Server mode in
Windows with all of our clients for years now with
    complete success.
Most of these clients are small to medium size organizations
and don't have the resources or need to upgrate to 9iAS with all
    the costs and complexities involved.
Now there is a demand to run these applications in Linux at
the client side, i.e. they want to put Linux machines at
    the users desktops.
We noticed that there is a Linux version of Forms and Reports
in OTN and would like to try it, but we are concerned about
if the product is really suported by Oracle : There seems to
be no documentation, white papers or patches available.
Can please someone comment on this? Can we develop our forms and
reports in Windows and deploy then with the Linux runtime ?
Deployment with 9iAS is not an option.
Thanks in advance for any advice or suggestion

    Hi Goncalo,
There is no reason why this should not work on Linux, and there are patches available for Linux. The latest patch for Linux (patch 11, which is the latest Forms 6i patch) was released Sept 6th, 2002.
This can be found on Metalink (http://metalink.oracle.com).

That is a very very old product. It does not look like it is certified on that OS.

    You asked this
How can i find what is the latest version that i can upgrade this install to
I told you where to find the last update, I checked that version yesterday, the last update is 10.1.2.3, my misstake was to put a 0 before the 3.
You can go to Patches & update>Quick Links to: Latest Patchsets, Mini Packs and Maintenance Packs>Oracle Fussion Middle Ware> Look for you OS versión and CPU> No clic just put pointer over the links and you will see the last one.
And finaly could look for the CPU of Jul and Apr that as requirement they ask for version 10.1.2.3 (as I say I checked yesterday)

    Thanks...

I need to install Oracle Forms and Reports 10gR2 in a windows server 2008 64 bit machine.Be aware that Oracle Forms and Reports 10gR2 (AS 10.1.2.0.2) is not certified for windows server 2008, as from Oracle Certification Matrices

  • Forms and Reports 6i with Windows XP

I have a problem with Forms and Reports 6i and Windows XP Pro. Forms crashes when the layout editor is starting. Also when Reports is starting a blue screen comes up. With another user, the problem does not occur! When the profile ist reset for the unsuccessful user it functions correct for a while.
It seems, that the user profile in certain situations will be corrupt with Forms and Reports 6i under XP.
The installation CD I have used is Forms and Reports 6i Release 2 for MS Windows 95/98/NT.
Can somebody help me to solve this problem?

    I have read on Metalink:
MS Windows XP Professional certification: XP is currently not certified or supported on any release of Designer/SCM (Awaiting other related (IDS) products certification).
Maybe the problem is caused by this.

I'd go and have a hunt around here http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/forms/htdocs/10gR2/clientsod_forms10gR2.html
You'll see this is to do with 10gR2 - I don't know whether you'll find anything on 6i as I don't think it's supported anymore.
    Oracle are never going to develop 6i as it's now 3 versions behind : 11g 10g 9i 6i ....
Metalink would be the place to look.
