Forms Builder / SAP Demo News / Where is the Savepath specified?

Hi there,
i just want to check out how the forms Builder work and if i can use it for some little things in our Portal.. so i wanna try the SAP Demo News....
So i think i check how it works.. but i have only one question.. where in the Forms Builder in SAP Demo News is specified where the news are saved when i write one?
So the Standart Path is: \documents\News
So what is if i want to change the path to: \Documents\xyz
Where in the Form i have to specifie this?

You can pass the path as parameter (post/path=) to the url.
For example
http://server/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.xmlformedit?XMLFormID=new_form&post/path=/documents/UserMessages
Also change the configuration of km folder to your new folder. This will alow to edit the news directly from km folder.
Go to System administration -> System configuration -> Knowledge Management -> Content Management -> Form Based Publishing -> forms availability.
Creat an id with the following properties - the folder path within which the form has to appear for e.g., /documents/News and under the Forms to Include - Mention the XML forms to be included.

When I post a newform use the SAP Demo News form, I found the text(Title,Date,etc) on the post page is not found.and when I saved,The news text can't display.

Not appear the option SAP Demo News

Hello all,
We have a Enterprise Portal 6.0 in which it does not appear the option SAP Demo News. From which patch level is available that option? On the contrary it shows the News option, that when pressing on this, produces the following error:

No se ha puesto a disposición ningún nombre o tipo formulario en el string de query. Sintaxis: XMLFormID=anyValidFormName.: News+
That type of configuration we needed to do?
How we can fix this error?

The error, you are getting is: <b>No name or formula type has been put at disposal in the string of query. Syntax: XMLFormID=anyValidFormName</b>. As of my knowledge, someone might have been deleted the content ( Under Cont. Admin -> KM Content -> root -> etc). Please check the folder, there might be some problem with xml forms.

NewsExlplorer shows several links like "SAP demo news", "New FAQ's" etc.???

I created a XmlForm to edit News but the problem is that when i set it to News Explorer, it by default shows several links like New Sap demo news, New FAQ's link. Is it possible to show only one special link, how can i delete the other links?

Please go to Content Management> Form Based Publishing> Forms Availability--> Folder Settings
Here create new or duplicate existing ones .
Folder Path --> Give the path to your folder
Forms to Exclude --> SAP_APP_* (if u don't want std forms)
Forms to include ---> Give the ID of your form, it can be CSV's also

11g forms builder is not able to initiate the Internet explorer

Hi,
my problem is that my forms builder is not able to open the form in IE during compilation if Internet explorer is not already running but it is able to open the form in a new tab if Internet explorer is already running.
My system's specifications :-
Oracle forms builder 11g
Windows 2008 SP2
Internet explorer version :-Internet explorer 9

1. In the Builder verify that you have valid values for the Application Server URL and Browser Location fields in the Builder Preferences Runtime (tab). Do not leave either field blank.
2. In the browser settings, on the Advanced tab, scroll down to the Security section and check the box labeled, "Allow active content to run in files on My Computer".
3. Click Ok to save the changes. Close ALL open browsers
4. Retest

It's so nice to have NetWeawer 2004s up and running...
Anybody knows where is the new ABAP Editor?
As I know, it should be included but I cannot see it...
I'm using the SAPgui 640 Final Release - Patch 8.

i am not sure whether it was there in patch 8, but i upgraded to patch14 and activated the new editor from
se38->utilities->settings->ABAP editor
here choose radiobutton front-end Editor (New)
warning:- dont apply gui patch 15 it has got some problem. when i applied patch 15 i couldnt event start the sap logon pad.

Forms builder- only displays records created in the form builder?

Hi there. I am new to Oracle and forms builder. I just have a query. I have created a form and when I run the form, it doesnt display the data out of my database. I can add a new record using the form and it will add it to my database:

Forms starts with an empty screen(no records), only when you execute a query, the records are retrieved from the database.
This can be done by executing the "execute_query" command.
This can be done by pushing the button in the toolbaar, choosing the menu item, hitting the function key.
But it can also be done programmatically in forms code(in a trigger).

The timestamp control enables the input of the date and time. You can use this control to create u2018valid fromu2019 and u2018valid untilu2019 fields in order to restrict the lifetime of objects for time-based publishing.

How to reference a file with the XML Forms Builder?

Hello,
I've created a form at the XML Form builder (I am using NW 04). This enables the users to create new topic.
I've created at at the "Edit" form an option to upload a file along with the new topic. The file is being saved in a subfolder of the topics main folder.
My question is how to create a link to the specific file that has been uploaded with it's specific topic at the "Show" Form? Note that the subfolder contains files of many topics, I want to link to this specific file uploaded with it's relevant topic when created. How do I do that?

What I expect that you have done is to add a browse functionality which browses within KM with the possibility to upload an image into KM?! As done within SAP Demo News?!
If that's the way, just compare the SAP Demo News: Create /DataSchema/News/image and map it to the browser, whereas in the show form part you'll map it to an image.
If I didn't understand you right and the issue is still open, please report...

Can't open the forms using Oracle Forms Builder 6i

Dear All,
I at first download the file .fmb from linux server to local pc.and I setup oracle Forms builder 6i and want to edit the file .fmb on the local form builder ,but can't open it with forms builder raising FRM-10043.
I download the source file .fmb using both mode of ftp and I try it but it faise to open it. I don't know why it is.pls which one who knows it tell me.

How to make changes to .fmx file using the form builder

I have a .fmx form in the AR_TOP directory of the Oracle E-business suite.Now I need to make some changes to the form and compile it and place it back .But the .fmx file didnot open using the form builder 6i .So is there any way that i can convert the .fmx to .fmb so that I can open the form using the Form builder 6i??
I have the toad s/w installed but I dont know how to open the form using the Toad.

I have a .fmx formYou cannot open a fmx-file with any developer tool. To make changes to the source-code you need the fmb-file and open it witj Forms-builder
AR_TOP -directory of the Oracle E-business suiteBe careful when changing source-code in the ebusiness-suite. If its a module from oracle i don't if its supported if you do changes in it.
I have the toad s/w installed but I dont know how to open the form using the Toad.Toad is definitely the wrong tool for forms-modules.

Compiling fmb module in Form builder does not change the fmx file

Hi,
I am using Oracle Forms Builder version 10.1.2.0.2 To edit 10g2 forms.
In the last month, it happened twice that an fmb file I edited in the forms builder did not change the fmx aftrer compilation.
namely, when I opened the fmx file in the application, I didn't see the changes, but they were present in the fmb form opened in the Form Builder.
Usually when we have the fmx file open in the application, the form builder won't let me compile it - showing the following error:
FRM-30087: Unable to create form file
When this error happens and the changes are not reflected, this error message doesn't appear even though the fmx file is open in the application.
I tried deleting the fmx file, and then opening it in the application to see if there is another copy of it.
The application gave an error 40010 - can't read form.
When I recompiled the file, the fmb didn't show any changes either, even though the file was created again in the file system.
I could not find a way to consistently reproduce this problem.
Did you ever encounter such a problem?
I noticed the edit -> preferences -> general menu has the option to "save befor building".
Does it mean the Form Builder keeps a cached copy of the fmb in memory, and when this error happens it compiles the original file system fmb file rather than the cached memory copy with the changes?

Thank you for your response.
I verified the version of the forms on the Application Server and they are the same.
This problem is quite tricky to reproduce, it happens once every few months!
(we have about 10 developers, who are developing and testing on multiple servers - so far two of the servers showed this issue)
I've determined that the reason this happens is that:
1. The compiled fmx is vied in the application.
** for some reason, the frmweb.exe process on the server does not terminate properly **
2. The developer compiles the form again in Form Builder
3. The Form Builder does not detect that the form is open in the mal-terminated process
There usually is an error message here saying the fmx module is locked - this error happens because this message is not displayed.
I will attach an image of the process monitoring tool we use ( ProceXP ) showing the ghost process that locks the fmx module.

If anyone has an idea for a solution, this will help immensely.
