The kinda answer I like: download, copy, mesh, hack. Looks very nice, must work in most cases, but not this time for me. Behavior was exactly the same, running the nightly build.
Just for the records:
Safari prefs in my Windows live happy in:
C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Application Data\Apple Computer\Safari
C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Application Data\Apple Computer\Safari
These days I installed an Safari in a brand new 2003 and worked nice. Bug 4 x 1 Safari. Bug still winning.
So, it must be some stuff, some little tricky service or software I install in my usual Windows.
Anyway, thank you very much...
If someone have some clue, I'll apreciate

  • Will RH7/RSC run on Windows server 2003?

We have the technical communication suite (1) with RH7.  We're looking at installing and using the bundled RoboSource Control.  I found the system requirements for RH, but there's no mention of 2003.  Does anyone know if it will run on Windows Server 2003?

Yes, it is amazing, isn't it? If only I could remember half of the interesting or useful tidbits I come across. But no, instead my head is full of old phone numbers, TV jingles, and grade-school song lyrics!
You're right, RSC can be installed on a PC. However, if you have the option of installing it on a server, I would think that would be the better option. You'll avoid having unnecessary load on your PC. Also, depending on the server configuration, you can get better response using the server, as RSC is very disk-intensive. Besides all that, it's nice to have IT take care of backups and such.

  • Installing Forms 6i R2 onto Windows Server 2003

    Hi,
I have been searching for an answer to this question for a while now, but with no luck:
I have a production system (one Windows 2000 server) with the following installed:
    Oracle 8.1.7.4 Database
Oracle 9iAS including Forms and Reports Servers
The hardware has gotten very old and now we bought a new server which I cannot even find Windows 2000 drivers for, so I have to install Windows Server 2003 on it.
I was able to install and test the database with no problem, but when it comes to 9iAS installation, setup gives me an error message indicating that it can only be installed on Windows NT and fails.
My question is: Has anyone installed Oracle 9iAS on a Windows 2003 Server? I would really appreaciate it if you know any workarounds or give me some suggestions.
    Thanks in advance,
    Regards,
    Sinan

... i want to install in it ... , to deploy the application i created as a test If you chose the "Development" install option during the installation of 11.1.2 you would have everything you needed to run your form. The only significant difference between the Dev and Deploy installation is the that in the Dev install type the Forms and Reports Servlets are deployed into the Admin server Managed server rather than creating a unique one for each. For local testing purposes, this should be sufficient for most cases. If on the other hand you need a full installation (Deployment), I would recommend that you choose this option, but be sure to also include the Builders. The Builders are available for both install types. I would not recommend attempting to have both install types installed together although it likely can be done. Having both installed would likely create confusion and difficulty during troubleshooting.
Important point. If you choose the Deployment option and include the Builders during that installation, you do not need to start everything in order to run a form. All that is needed is WLS_FORMS. All other processes can be stopped if system resources is a concern. For an actual production deployment, it is recommended that you route end-user requests through HTTP Server, but this is not required unless you plan to use SSO or other feature that is managed through HTTP Server.

  • [CS4 Server Win]: Plugin does not run on Windows Server 2003?

    Hi,
    can anybody help?
My plugin is running on Windows XP and Windows Vista.
On both operation systems the scripting methods are visible in ExtendScript Toolkit and can be called by javascript.
On Windows Server 2003 my plugin is not running, the scripting methods are not visible in ExtendScript Toolkit!
    What is missing?

    Yes.
    CS4: use VC2005 + SP1
    CS3: use VC2005 without SP1
    CS2: use VC2003
In my previous post I described one of the problems I found out the hard way - walking around in disassembler is a pain, even more Intel and Windows, comparing to Mac, and PowerPC. Since then I only use the official tools even if others tell it worked for them, and I keep the InDesign installations for final build and test on the earliest supported operating system.

  • Safari does not run at Windows Server 2003

Any page I try to open at Safari, it just crashes (I mean, just closes) without any technical information.
The most intersting fact is that when I go to preferences, just in the appearance tab make Safari close.
And the most important fact is that I use Microsoft Windows Server 2003 R2 en-us. I NEVER was able to use Safari in any 2003 (since first Safari beta). I've tryed Safari in several of my 2003 machines (at least 4 very different ones). I got better in new versions (first Safari ones didn't even openup)
I'v tryed so many things. Rename several folders, like safari.resources, run Microsoft Application Verifier to fool it as Windows XP, startup some services (like themes or Bonjour -- wich I use to disable), no solution at all. My sixt sense tells me that is is anything to do with some graphics rendering conflict, since it closes in the appearance and Safari have a different look from a regular Windows app window.
    Bottom line: any help ?

  • Can Project Std 2013 be made to run on Windows Server 2003?

Bought Project Standard 2013 and planned to install/run it on Windows Server 2003 (only one concurrent user), but the moment I try to install it, it gives the error "The procedure entry point EventWrite could not be located in the dynamic link library
ADVAPI32.dll." Then I noticed on the requirements page for Project Standard 2013 that Server 2003 is not supported (only 7/8/2008/2012 are supported). Is there a way to get it installed and running on Server 2003?

    Hi Teky,
Please refer to the requirements below:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee683978.aspx
At least Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 is required for PS2013.
Note that if you just need Project 2013 standard edition (and not server), you do not need to install any Windows Server.
    Hope this helps.

  • App cannot run on Windows Server 2012 R2

I have an application that runs well on Windows Server 2012. The application has two editions 32-bit and 64-bit, both are from the same code base.
However, on Windows Server 2102 R2, the x64 version of the application works, but the 32-bit version does not run. Invoking the 32-bit of the application generates the "This app cannot run on you PC" message.
I tried the compatibility troubleshooting, and it does not help.
Any suggestion on what could be the problem?
    Thanks.

  • Running Forms and Reports 6i on Windows Server 2003

    Hello,
Has anyone managed to get Forms and Reports 6i (running on 9iAS web) to run succesfully on Windows Server 2003? If so would you mind sharing what you needed to do to get it to work. I don't care about any of the other components of 9iAS other than forms and reports. Also is it possible to run on the 64bit version of this OS?
The problem I'm encountering (on the 64bit version of Windows) is that I can't get our webforms to launch any reports. The forms run just fine. I can run the report manually using rwrun60.exe and entering all the parameters by hand. BUT when I run the report from within the form a rwrun60.exe process starts and runs at full cpu. After a bit it dies but the form still continues to wait for it. The only way to get out is to close the browser and forcefully kill the form instance. If anyone has any ideas on what this could be any help is appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hi Jan,
I haven't tried to run Forms and Reports on Windows Server 2003, but I have worked on Windows XP and UNIX with F/R 6i 9i and 10g. I never had much luck with 9i Forms and Reports, 10g rel 1 was better, but 10g rel 2 is best. I recommend you bite the bullet and convert to 10g AS, Forms & Reports 10g rel 2. After running your 6i F/R to 10g through the converter, you may need to adjust fonts and colors.
Regarding your specific question, I am surprised that the rwrun60 works at all with 9i AS. And rwrun90 probably won't run the 6i version of your reports without recompiling in the 9 version.
    Hope this helps,
    Frank

  • Running 10G as a non local system account on Windows Server 2003

    Hi,
I have an Oracle 10G database running on Windows Server 2003, SP2. I have created the database and it all works fine while the service is running as the default local system account. However, when I change the user that the service runs as to a different account the database starts and opens, and I can log on as SYS using a bequeath connection but I am unable to log on as any other user going through the listener. The listener responds to TNSpings, and all seems to be OK. When I switch it back to the local system user again it all works fine.
Can anyone offer any advice or help?
    Thanks,
    Rob

That's probably because the listener is still running as the local system account. Have you tried to change the listener service to run as the same account as the Oracle service?

You may log a SR if this does not work.

  • Windows Server 2003 and Microsoft Assessment and Planning tool (MAP)

Preparing for the end of support for Windows Server 2003 (4/2015) and the need to migrate from Windows Server 2003, I have been directed on several sites run the Microsoft Assessment
and Planning tool (MAP) to aid in identifying any software and hardware issues.   Apparently this tool has been recently updated (7/2014) and cannot be installed on a Windows Server 2003 system.  As it requires .NET Framework 4.5 to run.  Unfortunately,
.NET Framework 4.5 cannot be installed on a Windows Server 2003 as it only supports .NET 4.0.x versions.  All older version links to the MAP tool have been updated to link directly to version 9.1.  Where can I get a MAP tool version that will run
    on Windows Server 2003?

    Hi,
Yes, i would agree with arnavsharma
After the environment scan has been completed in Windows Server 2008r2 or another supported OS, MAP looks at computers running earlier versions of Windows.

Meanwhile, for the MAP related issue, you'd better ask in MAP forums:

  • Application server 10g on windows server 2003

I am using Oracle 9i (9.2.0.1.0) database on Windows Server 2003 with Developer 6i.
I want to ask Can I install Application Server 10g on this machine ?
I have a 10g application server setup but it is not running on windows server 2003. No any error no any process run.

    Solved.

  • Is there a limit for SGA_MAX_SIZE on windows Server 2003 Standard Edition

I have a 9.2.0.8 Standard Edition running on windows Server 2003 Standard Edition. I cannot set SGA_MAX_SIZE to more than 1.7G. I have total of 3G RAM on that machine.

In order to use memory over 4 GB the /PAE flag must be set and Oracle must be tuned
accordingly. As mentioned above, for using memory over 4 GB and less than 16 GB, the
/3GB flag can be set as well. Oracle uses memory above 4 GB by taking advantage of
the AWE (Address Windowing Extension) feature built into Windows 2000, Windows
    2003 and Windows XP.
In order to use this memory, the Oracle administrator account (either LocalSystem or the
domain user that installed Oracle) must have the “Lock memory pages” privilege set. In
addition the AWE_WINDOW_MEMORY parameter must also be created and set. This
parameter specifies how much of the 3 GB virtual memory space allocated to Oracle
should be used for mapping database buffers. The default value of 1GB should be
sufficient and increasing this value could be detrimental, since you only have 3 GB of
virtual memory to use. The higher the value of AWE_WINDOW_MEMORY that you
have set, the more likely it is that you will experience user memory issues. Start with the
default value of 1 GB and tune upwards only if you need to.
Once these steps have been completed, larger memory can be set by configuring
DB_BLOCK_SIZE and DB_BLOCK_BUFFERS initialization parameters. When using
Very Large Memory (VLM) you should use DB_BLOCK_BUFFERS rather than
DB_CACHE_SIZE in order to configure memory.

  • MS14-044 for SQL Server 2008 Standard on Windows Server 2003?

MS14-044 was recently released and states that it applied to MS SQL Server 2008 SP3, yet the patches available for this security bulletin do not list Windows Server 2003 in the supported operating systems. Does MS14-044 not apply to SQL Server running
on Windows Server 2003? If it does apply, why isn't there an update available to run on Windows Server 2003?

    Hi Chasg76,
According to your description, the patches available for MS14-044 do not list Windows Server 2003 in the supported operating systems and you want to know whether MS14-044 applies to SQL Server running on Windows Server
    2003.
Based on my test, KB2977321 applies to SQL Server 2008 Service Pack 3 product and it does apply to SQL Server 2008 SP3 running on Windows Server 2003.
I installed SQL Server 2008 Service Pack 3 in Windows Server 2003 SP2 x86. After the service pack 3 installation completed, KB2977321 was offered in the Automatic Update.
Besides, you can manually install the update by downloading the update form the Download Center web site as well.
I also tried the manually installation and I downloaded the Security Update for SQL Server 2008 Service Pack 3 (KB2977321) from this web: Security Update for SQL Server 2008 Service Pack 3 (KB2977321) (https://technet.microsoft.com/library/security/MS14-044),
    it was installed successfully.
After installed security upgrade, I checked the file attributes and compared to this article: MS14-044: Description of the security update for SQL Server 2008 SP3 (GDR): August 12, 2014(http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2977321/en-us).
    The result is the same.
According to my test, MS14-044 applies to SQL Server running on Windows Server 2003 even though Windows Server 2003 is not listed in the supported operating systems.
    Best regards,
    Qiuyun Yu
