Forms Compilation On SOLARIS

Hi all,
We have some files which we have compiled and put on a solaris box. When we try and compile it it does not find any ".PLL" files.
However, we put the files from our local box and it gives an error saying it cannot attatch some ".PLL" files ,namely .....OFGTEL.PLL. Now we try and compile this .PLL file ,BUT IT CANNOT and we cannot find any .PLL file in the solaris machine..
Kindly Help us out and this is urgent as we have a customer demo in a day.
Thanks in advance
Guneet

You need to have the PLL file on the solaris machine too.
You need to make sure it is in the FORMS60_PATH path.
You need to make sure there is no hardcoded path reference to the pll in the forms that you are trying to compile.

  • Form Compiles in Forms Builder but not Unix?

I have a form that compiles fine in Forms Builder (Version 6.0.8.11.3). When trying to compile the form on a Solaris Middleware Server it fails and gives several errors similar to the following:

I realize that these same errors in Forms Builder if I have not connected to the database (Version 9.2.0.4.0) before compiling so I'm guessing that there is some environment variable set incorrectly on the middleware server. I'm quite new to Unix and am not sure what variables I should be looking at...any thoughts?

  • Forms Compiler

Hi, all - I'm new to the Forms Developer, so this might be very basic, but still is hard to find info on. After I develop a form in Windows, how do I compile it to run in Forms Server on Solaris? What is the compiler command to generate .fmx from .fmb? Can anyone recommend a good resource for these type of situations, since I'll have to continue developing in NT and run on Solaris in the foreseable future.

  • License for cross-compilation for solaris 10 sparc on Linux x86

I'd like to do cross-compilation for solaris 10 sparc on Linux x86 using gcc (for linux). To do that, I have to copy libraries (/lib/64) and includes (/usr/include) from a sparc machine to my linux machine.
The compilation will be run on about (up to) 50 Linux machines (by various developers). We also have 3 solaris-10-SPARC machines.
I wonder if Solaris license allows me to copy the includes and libs to perform compilation elsewhere.
I also checked "OTN License Agreement for Oracle Solaris", but it looks like Oracle allows for installing "the programs" on up to 3 machines, but I need it on 50.
Thanks for any suggestions or redirections to a proper place where I can get an answer.

When installing Solaris 10 01/06 on a Dell 1850 I receive an error message during the install saying "no disk found". I assume that the drive/controller is not recognized. The Dell 1850 is listed under the HCL for Solaris 10 10/06. I don't believe I can use the Solaris(TM) Device Driver for the LSI MegaRAID Adapter floppy with 1/06. I dont have any other Solaris boxes up so I cant build a jump start server. Any suggestions?

    Hi DurgaSrinivas_886836 ,
You should post your query on Oracle E Business Suite forums, not here.
You are trying to compile Forms 10g with f60gen, and using all the settings of Forms 6. That is obviously wrong.
You need to use the correct commands for 10g, frmcmp from the bin folder of DevSuite10g home. Trying random combinations will not get you anywhere. Read the documentation for 10g.
Better post on EBS forum. There may be other issues like no support for 10g in EBS 11.5.xx.xx that you are using.

  • Forms compilation Errors under Linux

    Hello,
    I have a main form called Tbdoctrk.fmb.
This forms compiles and runs perfectly through Oracle 9i iDS.
When transfering the fmb file under Linux, and attempting to recompile using the f90genm.sh utility, I get the following compilation errors:
FRM-18108: Failed to load the following objects.
FRM-30436: Parent window not specified for canvas.View Canvas H_TOOLBAR
FRM-30041: Position of item places it off of canvas.
    Item: BUTTON_HELP
    Block: VARIABLE
    Form: TBDOCTRK
FRM: Unable to adjust form for output.
    ====
I noticed that most of the object that failed to load (1 data block object, 1 canvas and a number of property classes and visual attributes) are contained in a file called TOOLBAR.fmb.
The TOOLBAR.fmb file compiles without errors under Linux/WIndows + is located in the same folder as the Tbdoctrk.fmb file.
    1) How can I resolve this issue ?
    PT
PS: I tried renaming the fmb files to upper/lower case without success.

    Hello,
My main form called Tbdoctrk.fmb in turn calls a form called Pre_bord.fmb in a Program Unit.
Most but not all Class and Value Attributes are included in a file called toolbar.fmb. I did not find any specific reference to the toolbar.fmb file.
However, at compile time, I find that those objects are not loaded.
    1) In what part of the main form Tbdoctrk.fmb should I find any such reference to the toolbar.fmb file ?
    2) How should I create those symbolic links under Linux ?

  • Compiling for solaris 9

One of our boxes still runs solaris 2.5.1 but we need to compile some things for a solaris 9 box. Would the binaries compiled on solaris 2.5.1 be compatible for solaris 9?
From what I have gathered searching the web, there are notes that the binaries would be compatible, but there is also a chance it may not. What are the caveates?
Also, we are unable to compile on this solaris 9 box.

    They should work.

If you want your application to be 32 bit
    - use Sun Forte 6.2 and link with OCCI library under $ORACLE_HOME/lib32
If you want your application to be 64 bit
    - use Sun Forte 8 and link with libraries under $ORACLE_HOME/lib
( You should be passing the 64 bit compile flag "-xarch=v9" )

  • Can Oracle Forms compiled in 32-bit run in 64 bit without recompile ?

My customer has a development machine running on HP-UX 10.2 and a production machine running on HP-UX 11.0 installed with 9IAS form server. Can Oracle Developer 6i be installed on the HP-UX 10.2 32-bit machine and the oracle forms compiled in a 32-bit machine be run on a HP-UX 64-bit machine ?
    Can somebody help ?

Boy, this was a long time ago and not intended to reply to this particular question but for sharing my experience with 6i client/server development on linux 32bit and running (client/server deployment) on 64bit linux. I don't believe there is a 64bit 6i forms developer - it is 32 bit, so development must be on 32 bit and when you run on 64bit, then you will have library (missing) problems. My solution was to create a custom runtime which included all the related system libraries from the 32 bit for the client/server. This forms 6i custom runtime for client/server also included the patchset 18 and the 10g R2 instant client for sqlplus (to support xquery). All the forms development modules, make files, graphics, docs, etc was stripped out and then it became a lean client/server runtime for Linux (for both 32bit and 64bit). This custom runtime for client/server is technically not supported by Oracle and the 6i is close to its obsolescence (2008) - but it has been tested against 8,8.1.7.4, 9.2.0.8, 10g (R1 and R2) and XE and works like a champ. This does NOT work for 6i web deployment.

  • 'Automated' FORMS Compiler?

    Hello all
    FORMS Builder 10.1.2.0.2

    OS: Win2k3
I was wondering if anyone can guide me to 'automated' FORMS Compiler. By that I meant, is there a way to compile FORMS after hours?
    Here's the situation:
All of us know FORMS are not able to compile when there is a user on it.
We restart our Application Server every night around 2:00am - which should clear all connections to the FORMS.
I was wondering if it's possible to call the compiler after the AS restarts and compile a particular / a bunch of FORMS that are too busy for normal business hours to compile?
    Thanks

    Never mind .. found these

  • SunWS 4.2 C++ compiler on Solaris 8

    Hello,
I have heard that the SunWS 4.2 C++ compiler works on Solaris 8 but is not supported.
Is this accurate? What risks are there using it?
Basically, we are currently using SunWS 4.2 C++ compiler on Solaris 6 and were wondering that if we upgrade to Solaris 8, will this mean the SunWS 4.2 C++ compiler no longer works.
Also, any official documentation stating the above would be appreciated.
Could someone please get back to me soon.
    Thanks in advance
    Martin

We do not support Workshop 3.0(Compiler version C++ 4.2) on Solaris 8. The risk is: if you run it on Solaris 8 and it works, good; if not, we don't support.
I don't have official documentation at hand. Workshop 3.0 is an EOLed product.

  • Forms Compiler v/s Forms IDE for 6i

I have a case where if I use the Forms 6i ide to compile my forms when I run the form I have the case when I exit the form something has changed. :system.form_status is actually changed and it wants to save the work. But in reality nothing has changed. If I compile this same form outside the forms 6i ide with the forms compiler I don't see this problem. Any ideas?

    Hi
My guess is that, for some reason, the Form Builder IDE is using an object library (or something like that) other than the Form compiler utility is using.
If it's not the case... Well, I always supposed that both ways should generate exactly equal fmxs...

    /opt/SUNWspro/bin/CC -c -compat=4 -g -KPIC -w -features=namespace,no%except,bool,mutable -verbose=template -DOS_USE_SHORT_NAMES -DINCLUDEALL +d  -DRWSTD_MULTI_THREAD  -D_REENTRANT -D_THREAD_SAFE           -D_POSIX_C_SOURCE=199506L -DOS_NEW_CHECK -DOS_STL_ASSERT     -DOS_NO_WSTRING  -DOS_ALTERNATIVE_STL_NAMES     -DRWSTD_NO_CONST_INST             -DNO_ALLOCATOR_STL -DOS_OMIT_BOOL               -DEXE_HANDLING -DNO_CPLM -DALO_ON -DSUBPROC_ON  -DCANCEL_ON                                     -D__EXTENSIONS__  -DEXPLICIT_OPERATOR_INVOKE            -DSTL_SUPPORT_OPERATOR                   -DSUNSOLARIS    -DWHAT_TIME_DATE="\"Build Date Time Not Set\"" -I/opt/orbplus/include   -I/opt/orbplus/include/naming  -I/opt/SUNWspro/SC5.0/include/CC4 -I/opt/SUNWspro/SC5.0/include/CC -I/usr/include/reentrant                      -I../.. -I../../include                        -I../inc  -I.                            -I/opt/odbc/include                    -I/oracle/home/oracle/include  -I/oracle/home/oracle/rdbms/demo pdl.tab.c -o ../../bin/hpux/obj/pdl.tab.o
without the -g option ,the file compiles successfully.
