Forms Crashing  Forms [32 Bit] Version 10.1.2.0.2 On Windows 7

Dear All,
Recently we have migrated all our Development PC's to Windows 7, and then after whenever we open any forms which is having more size the system is crashing. Does anybody have any solution for this .Currently we are working with XP MODE and this is also not a full proofed solution.
OS : Windows 7 Professional 32 bit
Forms Developer Version : Forms [32 Bit] Version 10.1.2.0.2
Thanks in advance.

It is likely that you are either not using a Professional release of Windows (i.e. "Home Edition") or have some other issue on your machine. Assuming you are in fact using one of the Professional releases of Win7 and believe that you have carefully followed the installation instructions which I previously mentioned, I would suggest you completely uninstall (including the manual deletion of any registry entries and directories in the file system) then reinstall. It is very important that you are in the "Administrator" group before attempting to install. The same is true when you attempt to use the Builder. Also, helpful would be to disable or relax Windows UAC before starting the installation.
As an alternative, consider installing and using Windows XP Mode (Windows Virtual PC)

I Have downloaded the 64 bit version of iTunes for my Sony running Windows 8.  Install went fine and I can get in to iTunes and see the music residing on this machine.  However, everytime that I try to run iTunes Match Windows crashes.  So frustrating.  BTW, this worked fine until a couple of weeks ago.  Anyone know what's going on?

How big is your library?  I would recommend the following troubleshooting steps:
    - Backup your library.  Always a good idea before messing with things.
    - Create a new library.   Refer to this article for details:  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1589.  This won't delete your old library, you're just creating a new empty one.  Also refer to this article to get back to your old library later.
    - Add a few albums into this new library.  Not everything, just a small sampling, as a test.
    - Activate Match on this new library.  You shouldn't have to re-pay, it should just say "Add Computer" or similar.
    - At this point, Match should run again. With just a few albums it should complete in just a few minutes.
If iTunes doesn't crash at this point, then likely there's something about your original library that Match doesn't like - what that is I don't know, but at least you'll know it's not your PC.   If iTunes still crashes, then if could be a number of other things, but probably not your library.   My next suggestion (if you haven't already done this) is to uninstall / reinstall iTunes.   If that doesn't work, then my next ideas you won't like.

  • I am facing problems with my adobe illustrator(64-bit) version which I am using on my windows 7 (64-bit) version. When I try to open the application it gives me the following error:

The procedure entry point not found. I have already done a bit of troubleshooting by uninstalling it and re-installing it back again by disabling the anti-virus and windows firewall. It works fine for sometime but after sometime when I log back into my computer it starts giving me the same error. The 32-bit version is working fine but the 64-bit version is giving me this error message and does not start. I have also worked on the system files that could be corrupt but still no progress.

  • How to download the 32 bit version of Lightroom 3.3, with a Windows 7 operating system?

When I originally downloaded my version of lightroom, it was on my older computer- and the 32 bit was downloaded.  Have not had any problems with it.  When I re-downloaded lightroom onto my newer computer, it automatically downloaded the 64 bit version (because the new computer is Windows 7)... I didn't think any thing of it until I attempted to burn a disc and was unable to- so, it's basically useless to me.
So- I was told to uninstall the program and re-install (typing in same serial number) and to be sure to choose 32 bit this time... but i've done that and now realize that it doesn't even give me the option- just automatically downloads the 64 bit, so not sure what I am supposed to do now?    I had no idea that there would be issues with newer windows operating systems!
    Any advice????

And just to be totally clear, the only 'issue' with the 64bit version of LR3 was the lack of a dedicated "Burn to Jpeg" Export Preset, caused in turn by the lack of an appropriate 64-bit driver.....however, it was/is still easy enough to export to a CD/DVD using LR3 64-bit, simply by selecting the DVD drive in the Export Location field in the export dialog.
So no need to upgrade from LR3 to LR4 just to be able to burn a DVD (plenty of better reasons than that for upgrading), and also no need to downgrade LR3 from 64 bit version to 32 bit version either.

  • Is there a 64 bits version of SAP GUI 7.20 for Windows?

    Dear Experts:
I have found SAP GUI version 7.20 in Sap Marketplace, but it doesn't say anything about supporting 64 bits operating system (Windows 7 Enterprise 64 bits)?
Should I use the 32 bit version?
    Thank you very much,
    Mr.Clinker

    Hello Clinker,
Still SAPGUI 64 bit version not available. You can use SAPGUI 32 bit version in 64bit OS. It will work.

  • Downloaded trial version of Acrobat XI Pro. Attempted to launch but dialog box indicated that the version of AcrobatPro_11_Web_WWMUI.exe is not compatible with the version of Windows (check if 32-bit or 64-bit version is needed). I'm running Windows 7 Pro

Could not launch a trial version of Acrobat XI Pro due to compatibility even though I'm running Windows 7 on a 64-bit machine. Any ideas why not?

Acrobat XI is a 32-bit process, but should run on a 64-bit machine unless something is set to lock out 32-bit processes.

  • ITunes 10.5 64 bit version won't install on Windows 7 PC

After 5 hours, I still cannot download the 64 bit version of iTunes 10.5 on my Windows 7 computer.  Removed all anti-virus protection, uninstalled and reinstalled, rebooted, etc.  Nothing.  Seems to be a big problem.  Any thoughts?  Thanks.

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
    Please note:
Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

  • How can I reinstall Bluetooth drivers after loading windows 7 64 bit version on my 2010 iMac?

I have just uninstalled windows 7 32 bit version which I have been using for ages and upgraded to the 64 bit version. I did this from the windows partition in my bootcamp divided hard drive. I then reinstalled the drivers using the application DVD which came with my machine but the Bluetooth driver is missing. One thought I have is whether I would be able to use the driver DVD which came with my 2011 MacBook Air (which has been running fine on windows 64bit version since I bought it)
Would this work or any other ideas?

  • HT4407 It will not burn the 32-bit version of the software.

Mac Mini 2012.  I've tried twice and it will not burn me the 32-bit version of the Bootcamp drivers for my Windows 7 32-bit install.  Where can I get the blasted 32-bit drivers?

For what it's worth, I don't have OpenCL capability in 32 bit Photoshop either, and I have an ATI card.
Notably the 32 bit Adobe GPU sniffer application says nothing about OpenCL support.  It may just be something they don't do (though I have never been able to get them to say so).  It would make sense for them to concentrate on 64 bit mostly, since there's no Macintosh 32 bit version at all.
As far as I understand it, if you don't have OpenCL, Photoshop will attempt to implement GPU programming via OpenGL shader, so you may not be missing anything at all.
FYI, here are respective sniffer outputs:

  • 32-bit version odbcad32.exe (C:\windows\syswow64)

    1.     By default on any 64 bit machine, 64-bit version of odbcad32.exe (C:\windows\system32) is used.
    2.     It is also correct that one can use 32-bit version odbcad32.exe (C:\windows\syswow64) and add DB entries in System DSN .
    3.     But, even following Step 2, given above, Alter audit report is failing out.
    4.     It would be great help, if you let us know what additional step she used to run Alter audit report in WINDOWS 2008 R2 server.

PeopleSoft client tools such as application designer, datamover, etc run on 32 bit, where as PeopleTools is installed on 64 bit servers.
You need to add a system DNS for both 32 bits as 64 bits.
The 32-bit version of the Odbcad32.exe file is located in the %systemdrive%\Windows\SysWoW64 folder.
The 64-bit version of the Odbcad32.exe file is located in the %systemdrive%\Windows\System32 folder.
This is also stated in the installation manual of PeopleTools, Appendix B Installing a database manually
    Snipet from the installation manual:
Task B-2: Configuring an ODBC Data Source
Now that you have established your database name and location, you can set up an ODBC data source on the database client.
Note. With Microsoft SQL Server 2005 and above a new connectivity driver was delivered for Microsoft SQL Server databases named “Sql Native Client” or SNAC. Ensure that you use this driver during installation.
If you are running on a 64-bit machine, confirm that you are using the correct connectivity drivers. PeopleSoft PeopleTools executables are 32-bit, but can be run on a 64-bit machine. If you are running on a 64-bit
operating system you still need to utilize the 32-bit connectivity drivers for PeopleSoft PeopleTools. Use this information to verify that the ODBC Data Administrator odbcad32.exe is running from the correct
location. The ODBC Data Administrator resides in the following two locations on a 64-bit Microsoft Windows machine:
    • The 32-bit version odbcad32.exe is found in C:\windows\syswow64: This is for 32-bit applications running on a 64-bit operating system. This is the correct version for PeopleSoft PeopleTools.
    • The 64-bit version odbcad32.exe is found in C:\windows\system32: This is for 64-bit applications running on a 64-bit operating system.
When you run odbcad32 on a 64-bit Microsoft Windows machine (Start, Programs, Control Panel, Administrative Tools, ODBC Data Administrator), the 64-bit version of odbcad32.exe (C:\windows\system32)
is used by default. In order to run 32-bit PeopleSoft PeopleTools, be sure to include a System DSN entry for the 32-bit version odbcad32.exe (C:\windows\syswow64).

  • WSUS + BITS Versions + Peer Caching + BranchCache + Windows Editions = HEADACHE!

We have a WSUS server in the main office (Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard).
We have a branch office with Windows 7 Professional clients and Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard and Enterprise servers, which means these computers are using BITS 4.0 (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb968799(VS.85).aspx).
To save on disk space, we prefer not to set up a WSUS downstream replica server in the branch office if we can use BITS 4.0 with BranchCache.
Researching WSUS and BITS Versions and Peer Caching and BranchCache and Windows Editions has been confusing. Some questions…
These pages in the BITS section of MSDN all say: “Starting with Windows 7, the BITS 3.0 peer caching model is deprecated. If BITS 4.0 is installed, the BITS 3.0 peer caching model is unavailable.” However, these pages also say: “BITS (4.0) uses
the Windows BranchCache for peer caching,” and “Starting with Background Intelligent Transfer Service (BITS) 4.0, the BITS service was extended to allow subnet-level peer caching for downloaded URL data by using Windows BranchCache.”
       http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa362708(v=vs.85).aspx
       http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa964314(v=vs.85).aspx
       http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa964240(v=vs.85).aspx
And this page says: “(BITS 4.0 New Feature) Peer caching now uses Windows BranchCache. This new peer caching model replaces the model used for BITS version 3.0.”
       http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa363167(VS.85).aspx
Okay, fine. BITS 3.0 peer caching is unavailable for Win7/2008 R2, but BITS 4.0 “peer caching” does work by using BranchCache. Got it. So, do we understand correctly that the various “peer caching” group policy settings under Computer Configuration – Policies
    – Administrative Templates – Network – Background Intelligent Transfer Service have
no effect at all for BITS 4.0 clients?
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa362844(v=vs.85).aspx
Next, the link at the end of this paragraph says: “Windows BranchCache must be enabled on the client through a group policy or local configuration settings.” Okay, fine. We followed the instructions at the second link to enable BranchCache for our
Windows 7 clients. Interestingly, the description in the Turn on BranchCache group policy setting (under Computer Configuration – Policies – Administrative Templates – Network – BranchCache) says: “For this policy setting to take effect, you must install
the BranchCache feature on the client computer.” However, it seems that the BranchCache feature is
already installed by default (although not enabled) on Windows 7, because there’s no option to add BranchCache in Control Panel – Programs and Features – Turn Windows features on or off, and there’s already a BranchCache service on
Windows 7. So, does this statement actually not apply to Windows 7 (and only Windows Server 2008 R2)?
       http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa964314(v=vs.85).aspx
       http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd637820.aspx
Next, the link below says: “The Windows BranchCache feature is an optional component that must be installed on the server,” and “The server must also enable the Windows BranchCache feature though group policy.” Okay, fine. We followed the
instructions at the second link to enable it for our Windows Server 2008 R2 servers. However, we would like one of our servers in the branch office to be the “Hosted Cache” server, and the remaining Win7/2008 R2 computers to just be “clients” that use the
Hosted Cache server (for the WSUS updates). So, in this case, does only the
Configuring a Web server or a BITS application server to use BranchCache section at this link apply to our Hosted Cache server, meaning no other steps are necessary beyond just installing the BranchCache feature? Or, do we have to go through the
Configuring a file server to use BranchCache section?
Likewise, does the Computer Configuration – Policies - Administrative Templates – Network - Lanman Server - Hash Publication for BranchCache group policy setting apply to us if we’re just looking to use BranchCache for WSUS updates and nothing else?
       http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa964314(v=vs.85).aspx
       http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd637785.aspx
In doing more research I believe that, for Hosted Cache mode, the BranchCache feature must be installed on
both the WSUS server at the main site and on a server at the branch office. Is this correct?
Next, we want to configure the BranchCache Hosted Cache mode group policy setting. However, this setting says: “This address must match the Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) of the server specified in the certificate for the BranchCache server's certificate,”
and “the certificate root for the BranchCache server's certificate must be in the client computer's trusted root store.” Since our BranchCache clients will only be using BITS for WSUS updates (via HTTP), is it still necessary to install a certificate
on the Hosted Cache server? (If Yes, that's too bad, because it really complicates BranchCache deployments, especially when all of the computers are within your Active Directory domain).
Next, there’s the Configure BranchCache for network files group policy setting. Since this setting uses SMB, we’re assuming this does not apply to BranchCache used by BITS clients, and so we don't need to configure it. Is this correct?
So, in Summary: We just want to use BITS with BranchCache for the computers in our branch office to access WSUS updates on a local server that’s acting as a BranchCache Hosted Cache server. And we’d prefer not to have to deal with certificates to make this
    happen, if possible.
Sorry for the long post, but there’s just no clear, one-stop place that informs us how to configure all of this.
Oh, and is all of the above completely irrelevant
for us since this TechNet page says BranchCache requires the
Enterprise Editions of Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2? I sure hope not…   :o)
       http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/2342.branchcache-settings-for-windows-server-2008-r2-windows-7-enterprise-and-windows-7-ultimate.aspx
    -Taylorbox
NOTE: I’ve already read these posts:
       http://www.windowsnetworking.com/articles-tutorials/windows-7/Introduction-BranchCache-Part1.html
       http://www.windowsnetworking.com/articles-tutorials/windows-7/Deploying-Hosted-Mode-BranchCache-Server-Part2.html
       http://www.windowsnetworking.com/articles-tutorials/windows-7/Deploying-Hosted-Mode-BranchCache-Server-Part3.html

First, I'm curious as to why you think that a BranchCache server would consume any less disk space than a WSUS replica server?
Because whereas our WSUS server stores all approved updates long-term, the BranchCache server would only store the updates needed for the branch office's computers, and
    short-term.
Hmm.. this is not a benefit of branch-cache, it's merely a manifestation of an improperly maintained WSUS server.
The WSUS has over 100GB of updates.
Which is about TEN TIMES what should be held on a well-maintained WSUS server. :-)
The BranchCache server should use less than 5GB since it would keep only the most recent updates
Thus, BranchCache would contain about 50% IN CACHE of what a WSUS Replica Server would contain ON DISK.
This TechNet page says: "BITS uses the following Group Policies to enable and configure the peer caching," but then it says: "BITS 4.0:  The BITS 3.0 Group Policies are deprecated.
Yeah, I did a double-take first time I saw that too... what it means is that those settings, originally used in BITS 3.0 have been deprecated, and now, with BITS 4.0 and BrancheCache you need to use the BITS 4.0 settings.
BrancheCache functionality is only available in the Enterprise and Ultimate editions of Windows 7.
A hosted cache server must be Enterprise or DataCenter editions; the functionality is not available in Standard Edition.
Evidently for Windows 8 Professional, BranchCache
is available for BITS (not SMB), but that's not true for Windows 7 Professional
This is a manifestation of the change in SKUs availabe in those two products. There is no Windows 8 Ultimate, only Professional and Enterprise, and there's no longer an Enterprise Edition of the Server OS.
In this case, when Microsoft removed the BITS 3.0 peer caching functionality with BITS 4.0 and replaced it with BranchCache, they effectively required you to use the Enterprise editions of Win7/2008 R2
Yes. BranchCache is a feature designed for Enterprise-scale organizations with Remote offices. The presumption, and a reasonable one at that, is that such organizations have volume licensing, and with volume licensing, desktops will be installed with Enterprise
    Edition.
The requirement of WS2008R2 Enterprise Edition is a bit more onerous, but it's nothing new. Microsoft has always made notable feature distinctions between Standard and Enterprise Editions.
What's really significant now, though, is that Windows Server 2012 does not have an "Enterprise Edition". There's Standard Edition and Datacenter Edition, and ALL features are in BOTH editions ... so something to consider here if I've not yet convinced you
that the simplicity of a replica WSUS server is a better choice than the complexity of implementing BranchCache -- consider deploying WS2012 instead of WS2008R2.

  • Installing Patch 18 on Oracle Forms [32 Bit] Version 6.0.8.11.3

I have Oracle Forms [32 Bit] Version 6.0.8.11.3 (Production) installed on Windows 7 64bit. It crashes abruptly with message "Oracle Forms Designer has stopped working". Google search showed to install Patch 18 for windows which may or may not solve the problem since its not certified with 64bit OS.
I tried to install Patch 18 and if I choose existing Forms 6i installation it stops saying "C:\Oracle\Forms6i is already used as an Oracle home for nt(1). It cannot be used as an Oracle home for nt". Installing in a new home didn't upgrade the Forms 6.0.8.11.3 to next level.
Any help regarding its installation or steps would be highly appreciated. Thanks!

If you know the patch number, search for the same on Metalink.

  • .Forms [32 Bit] Version 10.1.2.0.2 (Production) report server.

    hi
i have a question about Forms [32 Bit] Version 10.1.2.0.2 (Production) so many users are facing the problem in report server and even i faced the problem,
i started the report server and tried to display the report but it was giving me errors sometimes
REP-41213 unable to connect to report server and sometimes
REP-51002: Bind to Reports Server <servername> failed and so on.
but after using an ip address or MS loopback adaptor then it works perfect.
in Forms [32 Bit] Version 9.0.4.0.19 (Production) its working with machine name and we do not need ip address and also we can start report server by services.
But in Forms [32 Bit] Version 10.1.2.0.2 (Production) its not the same and all the time we start report server by command.
Is there any solution in Forms [32 Bit] Version 10.1.2.0.2 that run report server without ip or loopback but only work with a machine name?.
    sarah

    Hi Sarah,
my reports-server works all the time, and i did not do any configuration or install any loopback-adapter. I have a reports-server name like rep_<machine> and can use that in forms also as in URL-syntax.

For all things webutil the best place to start is the webutil home page on OTN.
In appendix A of the webutil pdf there is a handy checklist.

    Hi
I am trying to call this from forms.
I am getting error no data found whenever this calles IF condition but from backend if run it from a script it works fine.
So I was thinking whether Forms PL/SQL version supports collection types.
I am using Forms [32 Bit] Version 6.0.8.11.3 (Production) for Oracle Application 11.5.10 version.
    IF (p_emp_ids.COUNT > 0) THEN
    FOR r IN v_emp_ids.FIRST..v_pkg_ids.LAST LOOP
    Thanks in Advance

Is it just a a typo that the IF is on P_emp_ids and the loop is on V_em_ids?
However: the NO_DATA_FOUND exception suggests that you may be falling down a crack in your collection. If you have a missing element between FIRST and LAST you will get a no_data_found. Suppose these elements are there:
    (1), (2). (3), (5), (6)
You will start at FIRST (1) and finish at LAST (6). But your loop on R will try to find the element at (4). Which isn't there. Oops...
To prove that's what's happening, you can wrap the inside of the loop with an exception handler
       BEGIN
          do the access to v_emp_ids(r)
       EXCEPTION
WHEN NO_DATA_FOUND then (log a message with the value if R in it)
END;If you want to walk a collection with gaps (a "sparse" collection), this is the way:
      DECLARE
         r pls_integer;
      BEGIN
         r := v_empids.FIRST
         LOOP
             EXIT when r IS NULL;
             do the business on v_empids(r);
             r := v_empids(r).NEXT;
END LOOP;Now, why didn't this work in Forms, but did on the server? Possible reasons:
    - your back end script was set up differently - so you had a dense collection (no gaps)
    - Client side PL/SQL is different from server side (is it still version 1.x?)
