Forms Distribution and DLL's

I have created a form to run reports. I am in the process of
creating the distribution media. I have included both forms and
reports runtime applications with my application. When i
installed my form on a fresh machine and tried to run it, it
errored out asking for some DLL's.
Dose anyone know what should i include with my application
beside reports and forms runtime ????
I am using Developer 6.0 running on Oracle 8i.
Thanks
Fadi

Hi
How are you making that 'distribution media'?
I think Forms and Reports should be installed
in every client machine with the original
Oracle CD's.
If this is a problem, and you do not use in
your application any client-server specific
resource, you can use the web-version of Forms,
that does not need to be installed in the clients.

  • Form distribution and collection by e-mail alone?

I am trying to set up an automated system for data collection via Acrobat-generated forms.  But, the respondents are in rural Africa and  have at best lousy internet access and can barely manage e-mail.  Do the form distribution and collection functions of Acrobat work when using e-mail back and forth alone, or is a connection to Acrobat.com required?
    Thanks

Yes, it can work if the forms are sent by email. The idea is they are sent to you, and you use Acrobat to add them to Tracker. Or you can not use Tracker and just manage the data yourself.

  • Form Distribution and re-submit

I am new to form design but would like to create a PDF form/checklist for each project that we manage.  At any time, the project manager can access the checklist, update existing fields and re-submit.  Is there a way to do this that the dataset record gets updated WITHOUT creating a new record?
Hopefully the question makes sense...basically we want to re-submit the form, and have the dataset record updated and NOT add a new record.
    Thanks

Thanks for the response Paul.  Yes that is exactly what I'm talking about.  I was hoping that by adding to the initial form you could then re-submit and have it update the first response.  This would mean that the initial form is somehow linked to the response (ie. Form #1 updates record #1, form #2 updates record #2 etc.)
I'm thinking that it might be possible to achieve something similar by looking at the project # (which is a unique field created on each form distributed) and then sorting/filtering by the submit date (to only look at the latest submitted date for that project #)....but that certainly could be more difficult in the programming/collection process.

  • Forms distribution and e-mail addresses

I am trying to distribute a form via e-mail and my return e-mail address is refused by Acrobat as being a valid address.  It appears to be the suffix part of the address which is @istr.org.uk is the problem.
Is there  a work around for this?

    Hi George,
Double checked the 'space situation' whilst it was not obvious that appears to be the problem. When I now use the address having positively deleted any extraneous characters visible or not the address works.
I am puzzled by this as I am quite careful about typos in addresses.  Do you think that the system introduced this oddity?
Problem solved though and many thanks.

  • Deploying Oracle Forms with Plss and dlls in Client/Server

    Hi,
I have a form application which has two plls libraries attached to it - d2kwutil.pll and d2kcomn.pll and one dll - d2kwutil.dll. All these libraries are necssary for the app to work. The issue come when I am trying to deploy them in different environments like dev, test,qa,prod. The users access the forms applications from a shared drive and all the users have forms runtime client installed on their local machines.
If I just post my fmx in the shared drive it doesn't work as its unable to find the plls and the dll. I will really appreciate if someone can provide some feedback on this. How this should be done so that we can place these plls and dll in central location without chaning the paths etc.
    Thanks

Oracle Application Server Release 3 can not be used to deploy forms and reports.
If you want forms and reports you need to stay on Oracle Application Server 10g Release 2

  • Copy text restriction and Form Distribution

    Hello,
I am doing a project using the trial version of Adobe LiveCycle ES4 designer suite. I want a situation where users can enter data in the form and save it and at the same time they should not be able to copy text from the form.
If I put copy text restriction on the form, then I am unable to distribute the form and vice versa. By form distribution, I am saving a copy on my machine to test it.
Can you please suggest me what should I do to have both copy text restriction & form distribution possible?
A quick response would really be appreciated.
    Regards,
    Mohit

    Hi,
I don't really know if the text field can be selected using Ctl+a, but if that is possible how about adding extra text field that is linked to pulldown menu?
If the usage of the PDF is only for copying, then I would make a formcalc or javascript to combine all the text into one text field so that user only need to copy paste one field.

  • Form Layer 2 to Layer 3 on Distribution and Access

    Hi,
Our LAN topology have Core "L3" , Ditribution "L2" and Access "L2". We want to get rid of spanning tree by moving from layer 2 to layer 3 on Access and Distribution layers.
    My questions is:
    1) Any advice/document on this?
    2) in the access switches did I have to configure each interface on 3750 as routed port by issueing "ip routing" and giving an IP address of each port ????. if this is the case than I will need huge amount of IP addresses.
    Thanks

    Hi
Much of this has already been covered off.
Just to add, I have implemented both routed access-layer and L2 access-layer and each has advantages and disadvantages.
    Major advantages for L3
    1) STP contained with wiring closet. Yes you can use RPVST+ but you still are extending L2 links between the distribution and access-layer with all that implies eg broadcast traffic. In addtion to utilise both uplinks at the same time requires a lot of extra configuration ie. setting root bridges for odd and even vlans and matching that to active HSRP gateways etc.
    2) Automatic equal cost load-balancing (see previous point )
    3) Easier troubleshooting. As previous poster said this is a matter of opinion and i have more experience with switching to be honest but i think troubleshooting L3 routing problems is generally easier than L2 STP problems.
    Disadvantages
    1) Vlan's cannot be extended across floors. May or may not be a problem for you.
    2) If your distribution layer utilises 6500's with service modules eg the Firewall Service Module then layer 2 links give you more flexibility in deployment.
    3) Cost can be an issue although your 3750's would support EIGRP stub functionality with only the base image.
As another poster pointed out, STP has come a long way from it's 50 seconds failover and with the correct setup it is nowhere near as important that you try and remove it.
I am just as much in favour of L2 access as L3 and most of major sites utilise L2 from the access-layer but with the speed/performance and cost of L3 switching you can get nowadays using L3 is a viable alternative.

  • How to distribute the serial core only with my exe and DLL application using the Labview application builder 8.21. I'm not interested having MAX and other components installed on the customer PC and in the program menu

Since Labview ver 8.0 and later, I am not very happy with the new way the project installer is managing the additional drivers such as Serial.
With LV 7.11 the serial components was included in the cab file and was installed on the target computer in a specific directory. The size of the distribution was pretty small and well suited for compact distribution.
My LV application use only the serial object and with LV 8.21, if I include the serial 3.2 component, I get an enormus file including max, visa ... and a lot of fucky component I do not need.
To distribute my application, I just need, the runtime engine and the serial driver as it was with the version 7.XX
Looking for clever advises from you gentlemen!

    Thanks Dennis for you input
My problem is in fact very simple. 3 years ago, I developped a software suite for X ray generator; My company is selling such generator all over the world and our control panel software and DLL (for OEM integrator) is based on Labview professionnal development plateform.
To drive our generator, we just need to transfer ascii data using the strandard RS232 port still present on most of equipments used in the industrial area.
Until LV version 7.11, there was no problem to include serial component in my distribution with a very reasonable size and transparency for the end user.
with LV 8.xx (preparing a new release), I'm very disapointed to see, my distribution is increased of about for 10 Mo to 180 Mo just because I increase the serial component.
May I mix a previous version of the serial component with LV 8.21?
Should I change my source to Visa instruction only and merge visa runtime only to my distribution?
is there any simple serial example based on visa and distributed with th application builder?
I will appreciate your help in order to optimize my distribution

  • Install and config issues with Oracle Portal, Forms, Reports and Discoverer

For a while now I've been struggling with migrating a testing database to a newer version.
And right now I'm pretty much stuck at trying to configure Oracle Portal, Forms Reports and Discoverer
    What I've got:
    Windows server 2008 R2 64bit
    Oracle 11g database
    Java 6u27 64bit
JDK 1.6 64bit (using this after 1.7 ended up throwing out bugs while trying to start a weblogic server)
    JDK 1.7 64bit
Weblogic 10.3.5 (or so i think - I've installed from the wls1035_generic.jar from the oracle website)
PFRD 11.1.1.2 with 11.1.1.3 installed over it, installed without config
    and a hanging up configuration
Basically I've been trying to install PFRD (only forms, reports and enterprise manager from it actually) but it kept failing once it got to the configuration stage, so I installed without config, applied 11.1.1.3 and now trying to run the config manually with the good old \bin\config.bat
Result - the config froze for approx.18 hours then failed
There isn't much useful info I could deduct from the logs, mostly just says one or more configuration parts failed. At one place it mentions trying to set up a domain and starting up an adminserver for it - and apparently that's where it hangs up and finally times out and fails.
I'm a little clueless what to do about it as the logs don't say anything else of use I could understand. Any ideas there?

Trying the step by step, the only difference between that and what i do seems to be the file copying (which I can't do - there is no windows\extra\ directory anywhere, the files mentionned seem to already be on their places and either only there, or exactly the same) and clistering
So far the news ain't good - the config process hangs on creating domain ->Step Creating Domain started
It isn't frozen per se - the process doesn't use up any processor time, memory consumption within bounds, it reacts to button clicks and all..it just doesn't do anything concerning the said domain
the last thing the .out file shows:

  • Acrobat 9 Pro form distribution problem (Enhanced Security?)

I am trying to distribute an Acrobat Pro form to several individuals who happen to be listed in my Outlook 2003 Address Book. When I type an email address into the "To" section of the form distribution pane, Acrobat automatically converts the email address to the recipient's name, which I can only assume is being accessed throughthe Outlook Address Book. Is there any way to isolate Acrobat Pro from my address book? Would changing the Acrobat preferences for "Security (Enhanced)" and un-checking "Automatically trust sites from my Win OS security zones" keep Acrobat from accessing my Outlook address book?

Is it tunred off for the Reader installation or in your Acrobat installation. It doesn't matter what your Acrobat settings are when it's used by someone else with Reader.
Recent versions of Acrobat/Reader do not cache form data in the way mentioned by GKaiseril. This used to happen when a form was viewed in a browser.

  • Form Distribution Issues

I have two related issues regarding the distribution function in Arobat 9.0.
We have an order form with a "submit by email" button on it. Myself and a co-worker, Leon, are responsible for completing that form for each order. I created the form in LiveCycle and with Acrobat 9.0, used the distribution function to send it to Leon and myself. I sent it to automatically collect the data on my own server.
When I take an order and click submit, it doesn't go through the email process, Acrobat just notifies me that the message was sent and the order database is updated with Adobe Tracker. When Leon clicks submit, he has to go to the email process.
Question 1: If I were to, and can I, move the collection folder that I originally set up on my own server to a common server that he and I share, would he be able to then skip the email process?
Question 2: He only has the Adobe Reader 8.0, whereas I have the full program. How does this affect his ability to fully take advantage to the distribution and collection process?
    Thanks!

We have a solution that allows you to do most of what you want, including bulding the form, having people fill it out either in Reader (as an XFA-PDF) or on the iPad (as an HTML form).
You design the form once, and it will by styled correctly on the appropriate platform.

  • Adobe form distribution problem

Form created in LiveCycle and distributed with Adobe Pro...3 choices for distribution.
    1) Through Acrobat.com (which stores the responses on Adobe servers)
    2)  By email (This is not an option for me because these forms can not  invoke an email client on submission from the user. --> group policy  locked-down machines.)
    3) To an internal server
Option  3 works great for me as long as the person submitting the form is on my  LAN.  The problem is that we have users not on the LAN submitting the  form.  My repository for the responses needs to be accessible from the  internet.
    What I tired:
Shared folder on server.  Full permissions for "everyone" just to avoid that as a problem during configuration....
    Folder web shared by IIS.
Trying  to use the distribution wizard to set this up for that folder.  It  wants a UNC path but that will not work for external  users and no  matter what http path I put in there is tells me it is  unable to create  the shared folder....
Obviously,  if the forms can distribute and submit to Acrobat.com then they can  submit to my own server.  The question is how can I do this?  Very  frustrating.

    Hello Gregg,
I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble distributing your form. However, I'm not sure I understand exactly what's going wrong when you try to use Acrobat.com to distribute the form; what happens when you select that option? It should be a mostly automated process, and there's a video on using Acrobat.com for form distribution here:
    http://www.adobe.com/designcenter/video_workshop/?id=vid0348
If you are not interested in using Acrobat.com for forms (it's not entirely clear whether you are trying to use Acrobat.com or another server), please post your question to the Acrobat forum; as this forum is for Acrobat.com questions, we are not able to help with questions specific to other Adobe products and services.

Forms6i was installed and then XE last. Patch 17 was applied to Forms
C:\orant\NET80\ADMIN updated with the XE entry.
    C:\oraclexe\app\oracle\product\10.2.0\server\network\admin
I commented out the SQLNET.AUTHENTICATION_SERVICES = (NTS) in the SQLNET.ORA file
I restarted the listener for XE and then tried to connect to the database via forms builder and SQLPLUS80
    ORA-12571: TNS packet writer failure
I turned on tracing for XE and tried to connect via forms builder again. The same 12571 was displayed and in the log file there was an ORA-12502 TNS:listener received no CONNECT_DATA from client
The XE version is Western. One thing I did note is that the Forms NLS_LANG registry entry is AMERICAN_AMERICA.WE81508859P1 while the XE NLS_LANG registry entry is AMERICAN_AMERICA.WE8MSWIN1252
Potential Issues: Windows Media Center Version 2002 SP 2
McAffee Security Center including Firewall (he isn't willing to un-install). I have try to disable the firewall and even shutdown McAffee altogether but nothing is working on that front.
Looking for some direction on where to look and try next.

  • Forms 6i and windows 7 registry problem

    Hi,
We are using forms 6i patch 14 on windows 2008 R2/windows 7. The only problem is that the form reads from "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\ORACLE" key instead of "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ORACLE\" like it should, and did on XP/2003.
Is it plausible to change that because we use that forms with windows terminal services and cannot set the "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\ORACLE" key for every new user.
    Thanks

Unfortunately the whole thing (forms 6i) is desupported.

You should look at which shows only 10gr2 and certain 11 versions are certified on certain windows 7 installs.
Forms / Reports Builder 10gR2 or 11g Certification on MS Windows 7 (Doc ID 1112213.1)
In some cases forms 11 and 10 are certified. read it. it's complicated.
release 11.1.1.2+ is supported on Windows 7 (32 bit) for single user only.
The Forms / Reports Development Environment of release 11.1.1.3+ is supported on Windows 7 (64 bit) for single user only.
    You must use:
the 32 bit distribution of Weblogic (10.3.3+ along with a 32 bit JDK, do NOT use a 64 bit JDK)
as well as the 32-bit distribution of FMW 11g PFRD (11.1.1.3+)
Certification of Oracle Developer Suite 10g (10.1.2) has now (Feb 2011) been completed for Windows 7 with version 10.1.2.3.
Presently the certification is for Windows 7 32-bit only. (See the Certification Guide link above to confirm 32-bit/64-bit certifications).
