Forms feature crashes

It worked fine until yesterday, I create a form from an exisiting pdf, and when I try to edit the text field, it crashes

I checked your problem against the bug database and your problem is reproduced in Bug #1309877
Which is not yet fixed, but should be fixed in 6i Patch 1
You can fix the problem, by finding an item that may point to a reference library item that does not exist.
I would suggest that you start by looking at the WNBI trigger which may be referencing something in the form, which used to be there, but is now not there.
This is a very tricky bug to screw down, but is possible.
I would suggest that you invest in a support contract for these kind of problems, support are suitably qualified to give you this information and to supply patches.

Form Builder crashes while saving .fmb file when connected to db

Hi,
I am getting error The instruction at "0x679c352c" referenced memory at "0x0000001c". The memory could not be "read".
Forms version is 6.0.8.11.3 and database version is 10.2.0.3.0
I am doing the following steps:
1) Open .fmb file in forms builder
2) Connecting to database
3) Making some changes in form
4) Compiling (Ctrl+Shift+K) and generating form (Ctrl+t)
5) Saving form <--- Here I am getting the error and form crashes
If I do not connect to database then builder is allowing me to save the file
1) Open .fmb file in forms builder
2) Making some changes in form
3) Saving form (Successful)
I did some exercise just as a guess that may some part of the form is causing this error. I full expanded all components of the form i.e. blocks, canvases, triggers etc.
This exercise produced that 3 program units were giving same error while full expending those. I deleted those 3 program units and re-created them. Now it is not showing me this memory error while full expanding all program units. I can now fully expand my full form.
But I am still getting this error while saving the changes when I am connected to database.

Forms builder crashes when opening any pll

Hi,
I have gotten this problem that my forms builder crashes immediately when I try to open any pll file. (There is nothing wrong with the pll file - my colleagues can open these files with no problems on their computers). It crashes before the pll file is even remotely loaded - almost as if it encounters an error during the parsing of the pll file.
I have no problem opening and editing fmb files in my forms builder.
This problem has not always existed but it came all of a sudden one day and since its been impossible for me to open a pll file and its getting annoying :P

I tried deleting everything under D:\ORA6i where its installed and then reinstalling it - but the problem is still there.
Does anyone have an idea about what could be wrong - because I am clueless atm. - could it be some registry settings that somehow got changed maybe ?

I have encountered various issues like this with Forms 6i over time and have tried numerous things to fix them - including complete uninstall of all Oracle products and reinstalls and the one thing I found to work best was to run a Registry Cleanup tool. I had the best success with Microsoft's RegClean.exe tool (originally released as a PowerTool), but it is getting harder to find now that Microsoft has desupported it and pulled it from their web site. There are a few places where you can still get it; www.cnet.com, www.zdnet.com, and www.majorgeeks.com just to name a few. Other Registry Tools will probably work fine as well, but this is the one I have history with. I did not have 100% success by cleaning the registry, but 50 to 75% of the time it fixed the issue without having to uninstall and reinstall Oracle Forms.
Disclaimer: Please exercise caution when doing anything with the Windows Registry. The smallest change could have serious effects. Always backup the registry or create a restore point with System Restore before you make any changes to the Registry!

Core dump loops on a forms 5 crashes

dear all,
a customer uses really old forms stuff (v 5.0.6.23.1). in some cases the forms-application crashes (not reproducible, because the app. says goodbye in different actions/triggers - i'm still investigation to find some similaries) and writes a core dump.
the curious problem is, that the generation of the dump-file loops (see the call stack below) and writes a huge f50run32_dump file (until the disk space exceeds). these ends up in a loss of service if the sysadmins don't intervene instantly.
does anyone know/hear something about such a phenomenon?

i have forgotten to mention, that the the migration decision is not on my way. if i could, i had migrated the stuff to 10gR2 and assigned the problem to the oracle support.
but the last 2tier environment has already been considered. maybe that problem will force the management to react.
furthermore, i searched the metalink without any result. i hope somebody has an idea what i can check, configure, some workaround hints, etc.
does anyone know a tool for winnt to limit the max. filesize on os-level. so a loss of service can be prevented easily.

MDI form feature in JDeveloper 10.1.3

It's nice to see that you provide MDI form feature now for JClient in JDeveloper 10.1.3. Actually, you are having an even more powerful rich client framework that is quite more useful than MDI, witch is already available in your inventory. That is the doctable framework you are using for JDeveloper itself. Some IDE provider releases, or partially releases their source environment. Do you have any plan to release that also? That will make JClient users extremely happy :-)

As you are still on 10.1.2.0.2 I assume you did not follow the steps mentioned in MOS note 1292919.1 and 727410.1
After applying the patches mentioned in those notes you should be fine.

Based on the exception message, I found that your project is build with .NET 4.0, you could consider changing it to .NET 4.5.

Forms server crashes on right mouse click when loaded on Suse Linux 11

Hi,
I have loaded SuSE Linux 11 Enterprise Desktop SP1 on a PC.(1 GB RAM
I have installed Oracle developer Suite 10.1.2.3 here, when I open the Forms server application here and right click then the Forms server crashes.
There were a number of bottle necks before I could get to position to actual get the Oracle developer Suite installed in the first place and when that was done, now the Forms Development Server crashes.
Having said that, the Forms runtime works well here but there are numerous instances where this runtime crashes unexpectedly with a FRM - 92101 error.
It would be great, to hear from anyone who has got this combination up and working ?
I believe, I am missing some library or something else?

9i forms builder crashes

Hello,
Im using 9i forms builder on a XP sp1 platform. When ever I run a form Forms Builder crashes. There are no error codes or messages it just disappears. The form I was attempting to run launches and works fine but I have to re launch Forms Builder. Ive tried uninstalling and reinstalling the 9i IDS but I still have the same issue.
Has anyone seen this before?

Forms builder crashes

Hi All,
I have a form in a path say : "desktop\XXX\Form1.fmb". when I try to open the form using forms builder i get the error *" frm 18108 : failed to load object"*.. The object that it says has failed to load and the source containing the object are all in the same path " desktop\XXX\". If i give an ok, forms builder lists a set of .pll libraries and states that * "the libraries will be lost if changes to the module are saved" *...
All the libraries are present in the same folder as my form , "desktop\XXX\". When i try to compile the form with these issues, * forms builder crashes without any warning *. can someone guide me on how to proceed with this further???

Forms Builder Crashes when converting FMT to FMB

Has anyone ever encountered this problem? I just installed 10g developer suite and am opening Forms Builder and I am using the Convert function, converting a from FMT to a FMB, and when I select the file and hit the convert button, Forms Builder crashes almost instantly saying Oracle Forms Designed has encountered a problem and needs to close.
Any ideas? Thanks!

FORMS runtime crashes with tabpages

Hi,
I use Forms6i with tab canvases. At runtime when I want to go to another tab page, forms immediatly crashes. I use Windows 2000 as a client PC.
can anyone help?

What version of Forms are you on since the base release is not certified on W2K - only the patched versions.
Also do you get this in a simple case - i.e. it could be something in your application/coding/layout which is causing the problem

Form Builder crashes when doing a compile all(ctrl+shift+k) after adding a go_item

I am stumped. I have a procedure that is populating certain blocks based on where the cursor is in a tree. This procedure works great. My form compiles without any problems. If I then add a call to the go_item built-in and then try to compile my form, Form Builder crashes. I tried adding this go_item to the top of the procedure as well as the bottom of the procedure. This makes no sense to me. I can do a CTRL + T without any problems, but when I do a CTRL + SHIFT + K, it crashes with the following:

We have had crashes in the past that were with this same DLL.
Whenever we try to do a Find and Replace PL/SQL..., we get the following:
"IFBLD60 caused an invalid page fault in module NLSRTL33.DLL at 017f:60dld397." It then lists some register stuff." We had a TAR out on this problem and Oracle was unable reproduce our problem (TAR #1420237.996).
We have version 3.3.3.0.0 of that DLL. Is it possible that we have a bad version?

My suggestion might work for you.
I had similar issue. What I did was:
1. Open the form after connecting to DB.
2. Do a <Compile All> 2 times.
3. ie., First time, do a <compile all>
4. Immediately do another <Compile All>
5. Now Save and then Generate.
