Forms not running from Forms Builder

Hia
I am trying to run forms module developed in Forms 10g (10.1.2.0.2) by clicking on Run button (Green Traffic Light Icon) through Forms Builder. It then opens IE browser but doesn't display anything in the browser. All it displays is text 'ORACLE FORMS'. Also, funnily enough, in the address bar it shows the URL as http://127.0.0.1:1330/ and some long character junk string after that. e.g. http://127.0.0.1:1330/23939sdsfsldjwerlerwelj
I am wondering where does the Forms Builder picks up this IP address 127.0.0.1 as it is not the IP address of my PC.
However, if I run the same form by opening IE and entering the URL as http://hostname:8889/forms/frmservlet? , it is running the form perfectly.
I have also entered the same URL in Application Server URL by going into menu
Edit -> Preferences -> Runtime but still it doesn't help.
Any thoughts what's wrong with my Forms 10g ?
Cheers
Mayur

I am wondering where does the Forms Builder picks up this IP address 127.0.0.1 as it is not the IP address of my PC.It's your IP address of your Pc.
Check in your hosts file C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\Etc and see if 127.0.0.1
127.0.0.1      localhost.localdomain localhost
This will have the effect of
# redirecting any requests to that host to your own computer

  • 10g Report not running from Forms if called thru paramform on other domain

    Hi...
    I'm using Dev10g Rel.2....If I call a report with paramform=no and pass it a value from forms then report runs well. but if I call report thru parameter form and pass value from parameter form the report doesn't run with error:
    The webpage cannot be displayed.
    Interesting fact is that If I call the report from a client on same domain as that of Application Server then it runs even thru paramform. I've also entered the application server I.P and name on other domain's client but no way. Can u guess whats the problem there???

    It sounds like a Firewall permissions issue to me. You might want to have your Firewall admin watch the firewall as you run your form to see if the packets are getting intercepted and blocked.
    Hope this helps,
    Craig

  • Query not running in report builder 3.0

    hi, i can run my query in mgmt studio (version 2008R2) and within the query designer of report builder 3.0 but it will not run from report builder. i get a generic error message of "an error has occurred during report processing. (rsProcessingAborted)".
    the query uses report parameters and is written with dynamic sql (using a pass-through to oracle). any ideas why the query doesn't execute in report builder ? thanks a bunch,

    Hi KanataPablo,
    According to your description, it seems that you are using linked server to pass value to oracle. Seeing that the query is worked well in Management Studio, you may have the permission to connect to oracle (In this scenario, make sure the users to run the
    query in SSMS and Report Builder are the same user). So this issue can be caused by the user’s permission to connect to report server, the credential of data source and the dynamic query.
    We can add the current user as a Login, then click Properties and navigate to User Mappings page, enable ReportServer and ReportServerTempDB options.
    We can try to type user name and password, and enable “Use as Windows credentials” as the credential used to connect to data source.
    Try with dynamic query:
    ="Select column1, column2 From tableName where ID IN (" + JOIN(Parameters!param1.value, ",") + ")"
    Hope this helps.

  • Report(3.0) not executing from Forms 6.0.

    Hello
    I am trying to run a report (developed in Report designer 3.0) from a form (developed in Form Builder 6.0) as follows :
    -- message ('Before Report...');
    -- run_product (REPORTS, 'proj', SYNCHRONOUS, RUNTIME, FILESYSTEM, listid ) ;
    -- message ('After Report...');
    DECLARE
    repid report_object ;
    rep VARCHAR2(100);
    BEGIN
    message ('Before Report...');
    repid := find_report_object('PROJ');
    rep := RUN_REPORT_OBJECT(repid);
    message ('After Report...');
    END;
    I have tried both of these methods (Run_Product and Run_Report_Object) but nothing works. What is the difference between Run_Product and Run_Report_Object for report processing point-of-view ? It is displaying both messages but giving no error. The Properties of PROJ node in 'REPORTS' class are as follows :
    Name : PROJ
    File-Name : <full-path>/proj.rdf
    Execution Mode : RunTime
    Communication Mode : Synchronous
    Data Source Block : Null
    Query Block : Null
    Report Destination Type : Screen
    Destination Name : Null
    I am not able to see the results even by executing in form builder.
    Any help will be appreciated.

    Hi Shay
    Thanks for your reply. I have compiled the report (repname.rdf) in Report Builder 6.0 and trying to execute it from a form, developed in Form Builder 6.0, as follows :
    PROCEDURE run_report IS
    list_id ParamList;
    run_date date;
    repid report_object ;
    repout varchar2(100) ;
    BEGIN
    run_date := sysdate;
    list_id := Create_Parameter_List('input_params');
    Add_Parameter(list_id, 'DESTYPE', TEXT_PARAMETER, 'FILE');
    Add_Parameter(list_id, 'DESNAME', TEXT_PARAMETER, '/home/mgupta/orep.ps');
    -- Run_Product(REPORTS, 'Full-Path/repname.rdf', synchronous, runtime, filesystem, list_id);
    repid := find_report_object('repname');
    repout := run_report_object(repid);
    Destroy_Parameter_List(list_id);
    END;
    I have tried both methods (Run_Product and Run_Report_Object) but nothing works. What is the difference between Run_Product and Run_Report_Object for report processing point-of-view? Note that I have given full path for Run_Product while report-name is given for Run_Report_Object. The full path is also given in the property palette report. It is displaying both messages but giving no error. The Properties of REPNAME node of 'REPORTS' class in Object Navigator of specified form are as follows :
    Name : REPNAME
    File-Name : <full-path>/repname.rdf
    Execution Mode : RunTime
    Communication Mode : Synchronous
    Data Source Block : Null
    Query Block : Null
    Report Destination Type : Screen
    Destination Name : Null
    This report is running fine if I execute it in Report Builder but not running thru form.
    Any help will be appreciated.

  • Reports are not called from form in browser plz help

    Hi,
    I have installed 9iAS+8.1.7 database on the same machine with NT4 server.My system's forms(.fmx) are running well but my reports are not running from my main form.i call reports from the
    from as,
    Run_Product(reports,'..\iReports\xglrxx12.rep',synchronous,RUNTIME,FILESYSTEM,pl_id,null);
    Actually want to know the report's setting when calling from the from in a browser(environment variables,virtual paths etc.).
    My database is installed in drive E:\8idb_home\ and 9iAS is on
    G:\9iAS_home\.My systems .fmx & .rep files are in "iforms" and "ireports" folder respectively.
    Plz help!
    Many thanks!

    Hi,
    First of all thanks to Vincent Botteman for solving the prob.
    Yes when i changed my call of run_product by excluding the path i have specified when calling from form it then makes a result.
    Also specified the entry of your reports .rep files by giving path in reports60_path registery variable as,
    Run regedit-->Hkey_Local_Machine-->Software-->Oracle here give the full path of your .rep files as an first entry in reports60_path variable.And finally not mention the path when calling reports from form as,
    Run_Product(reports,'xglrxx13.rep',synchronous,RUNTIME,FILESYSTEM,pl_id,null);<--- Correct way.
    Run_Product(reports,'..\iReports\xglrxx13.rep',synchronous,RUNTIME,FILESYSTEM,pl_id,null);<--- Wrong way.

  • Report not working from forms.

    Hi
    we are beginners and please help us.we have installed in LAN database 11g on vista
    and application server 10g on os 2003.
    we are developing some applications from our developer pc in vista and using developer suite 10g.
    we want to generate some reports and call them from forms.
    This is the code in when button pressed.
    DECLARE
    repid REPORT_OBJECT;

    /* Destype SCREEN or PREVIEW can be used here */
    SET_REPORT_OBJECT_PROPERTY(repid,REPORT_DESTYPE,SCREEN);
    /* Run the report */
    repjobid := RUN_REPORT_OBJECT(repid);

    message('File ok');
    --     host('c:\mtb-erp\ansu.lis');
    END IF;
    END;
    we are struck and unable to proceed.Actually when we run the report from report builder it works.we are calling the report from application server.
    Also if we replace the above web.show document with this statement it works but even though it gives FRM-41214 error.
    web.show_document('http://ansuya.mtbnet.local:8889/reports/rwservlet?destype=cache&desformat=html&report=\\mbxserver\developers\emp.jsp&userid=scott/tiger@mbxsql&paramform=no');
    One more doubt , is it possible if we don not want to show the report in a browser in case of client server locally in lan
    but just generate the report from forms and save it in local folder like we do in previous old versions.If so please guide us.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello ansu,
    Did you solve this problem ?
    Regards,
    Felipe.

  • Report Running From Forms

    How to Run a Report from Form Builder

  • Report not running through Forms menu

    Hi Gurus,
    In our reports we have used Query PL/SQL to reference cursor. When it is compiled and an executable 'rep' file is created, which when
    called through froms menu generates following error and aborts the report.
    REP-1401:'qr_1refcurds': Fatal PL/SQL error occured.
    ORA-06508: PL/SQL: could not find program unit being called
    The same report when called through forms menu, without the compiled version, executes smoothly. Also it runs through report builder perfectly after compilation and generation of rep file.
    Would appreciate if anyone can provide suitable guidelines to solve this issue.
    null

    hello,
    is the program-unit you are trying to call, in an external plsql-library ? if so, you have to provide the PLX version of this library in order to use it from a REP file.
    however, why are you using the compiled REP version at all ? i would suggest to use the RDF file.

    Hello i am very much new to Oracle Forms.
    1.) Do we require JDK for running Oracle Forms ..??
    2.) If yes then,i am Actually using Oracle 10g on that i have installed Oracle Developer Suite 10G
    3.) When i see in my ADD/Remove Programs i find JDK 5, JRE 5 , Java Update 6 & JRE 6.
    And the Problem i am facing is that when i try to Run a Form... that means ... my forms gets connected to the database so there is no issue with the connectivity,
    But when i Run the Forms ... on Internet Explorer it shows me 'PAGE CANNOT BE DISPLAYED' .... what can be the reason for this ..& is there any solution to this ...?
    Please help.

    Aijaz Mallick,
    1.) Do we require JDK for running Oracle Forms ..??No, during Runtime, an Oracle Forms application runs as a Java Applet but all that is needed for this is a compatible JRE not JDK.
    And the Problem i am facing is that when i try to Run a Form... that means ... my forms gets connected to the database so there is no issue with the connectivity, But when i Run the Forms ... on Internet Explorer it shows me 'PAGE CANNOT BE DISPLAYED' .... what can be the reason for this ..& is there any solution to this ...?By default, the Oracle Developer Suite (ODS) 10g installation is configured to run with the Oracle Jinitiator 1.3.1.26. However, Oracle has since desupported Jinitiator so I recommend you use the Sun JRE 6 that you have installed. In order to use the Sun JRE, you will need to modify the ODS configuration to specify the version of the JRE that it is to use. This is done by editing the \DevSuiteHome10g\forms\server\formsweb.cfg file. I strongly suggest you make a backup copy of this file before you make any changes. Once you have made a backup, open this file and modify the following lines:
    # System parameter: base HTML file for use with JInitiator client
    #baseHTMLjinitiator=basejini.htm  -- Original
    baseHTMLjinitiator=basejpi.htm   -- New

  • Oracle 10G forms not running.......very urgent

    Hi all,
    shayan here......
    i have just installed oracle databse 10g and oracle 10G developer........i have done it first time....the forms is not running even the test form is not running....i have start the OCJ4 but still the same result..............any sujjestion how to configure....
    plz tell me

    Shayan,
    I assume that you are trying to run the form from within Forms Developer and that you are connected to the database.
    Now you have to apply the URL that have to be used when running a form. At one of the tabs in the options screen (where you also can choose to save before generating and generate before running or to get debug messages) you can set the default URL by pressing a button.
    At this moment I don't have a 10g installation in reach so I cannot give you the exact menuoptions and mouse clicks.
    With kind regards,
    Martin Schaap
