This is a common question in the Forum. A simple search of the forum and you would have found that Oracle Developers Suite 10g R2 (version 10.1.2.0.2) is not supported on Windows 7 64-bit. However, you would have also found a couple of threads where people have made this work.
Now i have installed manually JInitiator 1.3.1.26 (32-bit) and also copy the jvm.dll file in the desire folder. Don't do this! This is a complete HACK of the OS and there is no guaruntee that this will work and more importantly this could screw-up your OS.
By default, Forms 10g is configured to use the Oracle Jinitiator because this was the Java Runtime Oracle was using at the time. Now, however, Oracle has changed directions and has adopted the standard Java Runtime. Therefore, you must reconfigure Forms 10g to use the Java Runtime Plug-In (JPI) on Windows 7. With Windows XP you did not need to do this. Take a look at Forms: How to Configure Forms Builder to run forms locally for detailed steps on reconfiguring Forms 10g.
@937097
I had the same problem in my computer, and the guys from systems department solved the problem installing Windows XP SP3.thy triend to install Forms10 with Windows 7 64bits, but they said it can't be done. >
I disagree with your "Systems Department". I have Forms 10g installed and running quite well on Windows 7 Professional 64-bit. There are a few pre-installation steps you must take to install Forms 10g, but it can be done. At the very least, your Systems Department staff could have installed Windows XP Mode for Windows 7. Take a look at:
Windows XP Mode - Windows 7 Features
Install and use Windows XP Mode in Windows 7
Download Windows XP Mode
I've tested Forms 10g with XP Mode and it works fine there as well, but I prefer not to deal with the overhead of the Virtual Machine.
To properly install Forms 10g R2 on Windows 7 you must first have Windows 7 Professional or higher. Then follow these steps:
1. Install Java Runtime 1.6.0_33 (32-bit).
2. Change Windows Virtual Memory from System Managed to a specific amount (2048mb Initial size, 4096mb Max). The Oracle installer can't detect VM settings if they are system managed. You will need to restart your computer after making this change. Once you have completed the installation, you can change the settings back to system managed.
3. Right-Click the setup.exe and select properties. Select the Compatibility tab and click "Run this program in compatibility mode for: Windows XP (Service Pack 3)".
4. Run the installer.
Once complete, review the document I linked above for configuring Forms to run locally from the Forms Builder.
Hope this helps,
Craig B-)

  • Oracle database 11g release 2 installation problem on windows 7 (64-bit)

First of all my windows is not genuine, but on my friend's desktop oracle download and installation  worked fine, he chose "create and configure database" options, and it works very well on his desktop, though his windows is also illegitimate. In my case, when I select "Create and configure database" option and pressed 'next",
(Go to my blog to see it with snapshots: Computer Science: Oracle database 11g release 2 installation problem on windows 7 (64-bit))
it asks to select class, I select "Desktop class" and pressed "next". The moment I pressed "next", the whole setup thing disappeared like it was never started. I searched for all possible reasons for why its not getting installed on my laptop, I used registry cleaner s/w,  deleted 25 GB of data to create free space if it were the problem, increased the virtual memory to increase the space for RAM, I did almost everything to get this setup working, but I found no success with the "Create and Configure database" option
    and
    then
I chose a "database software only" option and chose to store in a folder w/o spaces. This way, I got database s/w only and then later I found "Database configuration Assistant (DBCA)"  from windows START button and clicked to create and configure database manually. The steps are pretty much interactive and doesn't involve much brainstorming.
    The values I filled for
    1) Global Database Name :  orcl
    2) System Identifier : orcl
    3) I chose common password for both SYS and SYSTEM
    4) while on Enterprise Manager Configuration step, It asked me to create and configure listener in oracle home, so for that too, I typed "netca" in windows START menu and clicked it. There I added a listener.
    5) I chose a Storage area which was the Oracle-home itself i.e. where our installation files goes , in my case it is : C:\oracle_base\product\11.2.0\dbhome_1\oradata
    6) Then after few more nitty-gritty clicks, we are set to go !
Finally to write SQL code and to create your first TABLE , type "sqlplus" in windows "START" menu and click it when it appears. A command-prompt like window appears , which will ask you for username and password, so here they are :
    Username : sys/ as sysdba
Password : (its the one you created in step 3 stated above )
After this you are ready to write your first SQL command.

Is this your solution to your original post at Oracle database 11g release 2 installation on windows 7 (64-bit) ?
Pl be aware that you should not create any custom objects in SYS or SYSTEM schema - you should create any such objects in a separate custom schema.

Lightroom 3.2 Installation Problem on Windows 7 64-bit
I can't install Lightroom 3.2 (German) on my computer (Windows 7 Professional 64-bit).
While copying the extracted program files the following error message appears:
An error occurred during the installation of assembly component {6435B7C0-E0C8-3EA2-91AE-7640034EAFCE}. HRESULT: 0x80070002.
I found out that other users had the same problem, and couldn't find a solution.
Perhaps it is a Microsoft .NET Framework related problem. But after installing .NET Framework 4 nothing changed.
Thanks for ideas to solve the problem.

Thanks for your advice, Mr. McLion.
I downloaded the 3.4.1 version and started the installation as administrator. Unfortunately the same error message occured again.
Then I tried to install the 32-bit version (although I prefer a 64-bit program on a 64-bit operating system). A similar error message appeared at the same point of installation progress, but with another combination of numbers and letters in brackets.

  • TS3918 I am experiencing this problem on Windows 7 64 bit.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I am experiencing aniTunes reinstall problem on Windows 7 64 bit.    I have uninstalled the iTunes product and reinstalled 11.02 for windows 7 64 bit but can't get iTunes going again.  The first error message I get is: "The file "iTunes Libirary.itl" cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of iTunes".  The next error message I get is:  "There is a problem sending the command to the program."  Any suggestions on what to do next would be appreciated. ( I would have posted this in Windows area had I been given a choice.)

I believe that message can sometimes be a sign of a corrupt library file, unless of course you've tried to downgrade to an older build of iTunes. Restore it as described in this post.

  • Help Installing Forms 11G on Windows 7 64 Bit

I am trying to install. I installed 64 bit Java JDK, Weblogic generic server, and finally Portal, Forms, Reports and Discoverer (11.1.1.2.0). When the Portal, Forms, Reports, and Discover install get to step 6 of 16, it reports: INST-07408: Unable to install or configure the product on a 32-bit JVM on a 64-bit machine. Note that the error seems to be a complaint against a JVM, not a JDK. Does anyone have a fix?

    hi
Oracle Forms certified on Windows 7 and IE8
I've seen this question come up a number of times recently so just to make clear. Oracle Forms 11.1.1.2 (which is the first patch set to 11g) is certified to run again Window7/IE8 browser clients.
Full details of Forms client certification can be found here:

  • I installed lv 6.1 on a windows 98 system. As I am having problems of stability (much more than with the former release 6.0), I would like to know if there is some specific problem with windows 98 or there is some patch.

I installed lv 6.1 on a windows 98 system. As I am having problems of stability (frequent crashes, much more than with the former release 6.0), I would like to know if there is some specific problem with windows 98 or there is some patch available.

My experience with Win98 is that it is not a very stable system, regardless of software used. For example, Win2000 and XP are far more stable than 98. I've had it crash on its own if I leave the computer on for several days.
I wouldn't recommend running programs for long time (few days) on this OS.
This being said, can you be more specific in your question. What kind of stability problems did you have, which VIs did you run (if possible post them here), did you change the interrupts and priority levels on those VI, do you get error messages or blue screen....

  • Problem in installing Forms 6 on Windows 2000

I have problem in installing forms 6 on windows 2000.
    Please advise me.

    Hello,
I've been using Dev 2000 ver 6i for several months sucessfully on Win 2K RC2. The compiled .fmx's work fine with the ver 6.0 runtime environment under NT 4.0.
The only problem is that the Forms Server won't work till the 1st patch set comes out
(only Oracle knows when!) , so you can't test or deploy the forms as web apps on Win 2K yet. OAS 4.0 appears to work ok on Win 2K.
I have been using the Beta version of Dev 6i and will upgrade to the release version eventually, probably when the patch comes out.

  • IPhone 3GS SYnc problems with Windows 7 64 Bit

I am having sync problems with windows 7 64 Bit.
The iPhone syncs a few tracks then hangs, a few minutes later itunes tells me the iphone has timed out.
Anyone have any ideas about this. I have tried different USB ports, cleaned the apple USB cable contacts with Servisol, restored the iPhone and reinstalled itunes.
iPhone and iTunes are latest versions.
    Thanks
    Joe

"Try this connect the iPhone, let the mtp driver installation fail, then go into the device manager and uninstall the unknown mtp device. If you then scan for new hardware from the device manager it should recognize the iPhone & update the driver."
    Ok here's what I did:
    1) Connect the iPhone (iTunes had been installed)
    2) No MTP driver installation is happening as Windows detects iPhone successfully
    3) Open Device Manager
    4) There seems to be 2 drivers for iPhone that are active now, although I still can't see which one is the MPT driver you're referring to.
One of them sits under Portable Devices: "Apple iPhone". If I view the details of this driver, it lists the following files:
    - C:\Windows\system32\DRIVERS\UMDF\WpdMtpDr.dll
    - C:\Windows\system32\DRIVERS\winusb.sys
    - C:\Windows\system32\DRIVERS\WUDFRd.sys
    - C:\Windows\system32\WpdMtp.dll
    - C:\Windows\system32\WpdMtpUS.dll
The other one sits under Universal Serial Bus controllers: "Apple Mobile Device USB Driver". And as indicated by Joe above, it lists the following files when I view the Details:
    - C:\Windows\system32\Drivers\usbaapl64.sys
    - C:\Windows\system32\usbaaplrc.dll

  • Itunes problems with windows 7 64 bit

Hi, i have searched and searched for a solution to my on going problems with itunes on my windows 7 64bit computer.
it started with my backups not being saved when i sync, then any music i add seems to play strangely i.e skips and plays the start of the song in the middle.
updating last sunday to the new iphone os (4.3) was also a disaster, having to try a number of times over 2-3 days as the downloads just seemed to hang and not do anything. At the end on around my 10th try it downloaded and updated in around 15 mins.
I now find myself when i connect to itunes more often than not having to manually delete corupt backups until i get a succesful one as sometimes it works and other times it doesnt.
I tryed a vista computer a friend has and everything worked perfectly!
    songs, backups the lot!!
So it clearly seems like a problems between windows 7 64bit and iphone 4.
can anyone please shed some light on these issues??????
    Many thanks, gaggie...

I am not sure that I can help with this, but I have seen an instance where continuous backup software cased playback problems.
Also are you using any Norton products?

After I force a reboot, by keyboard backlight forgets it's setitngs and returns to full brightness. If I lock the screen then bring back the computer before the screen is blanked, it seems fine. I don't think there's any way to adjust the screen blanking when the lock screen is up (even my desktop power-saves the monitors after a few minutes on the Lock screen). I'm not sure it's HP or MS that should be looking into this.  My computer is about 3 years old so I can't pester HP with warranty requests. I'm not sure how prevelant this problem is. Are all Pavellions and Envy's having the problem?  Mine has Radeon graphics which was a bit unusual at the time.  I have to install the HP Display driver before any AMD updates or the screen dimming doesn't work (at least with win 7 and 8). Dave.

Having a problem installing Windows 7 Home Premium (64-Bit) on my Macbook Pro (mid-2010) 13". I use the Boot Camp Assistant, download the necessary drivers and burn them to a disc. I insert my legit Windows 7 install disc, and the process begins but once I get to 'Completing installation', my mac freezes and I have to restart it and delete the partition. This has happened twice. I have contacted Apple and Microsoft and neither of them said that they could help me with the problem so if someone has had a similar issue and found a solution to it, I would really appreciate the help.

  • Problems with Windows 7 home premium and ovi

    Excuse me for my english.
    I've a big problem with Windows 7 and NOKIA N97 32G
I install the latest version of Nokia Ovi Suite 2.0.2.42. When I connect the phone with USB and select PC suite mode in the phone, OVI don't see the phone and say method not compatible.
    I can't synchronize the phone.
    Help me.
    Thanks

I just want to say that many Nokia Ovi Suite problems have showed up for me recently. I tried everything (including many reinstalls, cleans, etc.) and nothing helped.
    Finally I found the solution:
I realized that I have installed Service Pack 1 on Windows 7 (32-bit), and this stopped Ovi Suite from working correctly. The solution is to run Ovi Suite in compatibility mode as "Windows 7"
(You may be surprised to run an application in "Windows 7" compatibility mode on Windows 7. But after installing Service Pack, it is no longer "Windows 7" but it is now "Windows 7 SP1"! This is different. So "Windows 7" is the old mode without the service pack, and in this old mode Ovi Suite works.)
Concluding: After installing Service Pack 1 just use compatibility mode as "Windows 7" to run Ovi Suite, and this program should work OK (at least for me it works on a 32-bit OS).
PS. My version of Ovi Suite is 3.0.0.290

  • Problem installing Windows

Hallo everybody. Need help installing Windows on a Macbook Pro, late 2008, 8Gb RAM.
    This is what i have:
    - I have a Macbook Pro 15" late 2008
    - it's running Yosemite 10.10.1
    - my CD-Drive died couple a years ago, so I have replaced it with a SSD: this is my primary drive now; the old HDD is connected internally, too (use it for pictures or music storage).
    - as I bought the SSD, I've installed Windows 7 32 bit using Bootcamp 3 years ago, and it was working perfectly (using it mainly for games).
    - since a lot of games support nowadays 64 bit, I've decided to install it.
    - I have an .iso of 64 bit Windows 7 (according to Apple late 2008 MB Pro supports 64 bit Windows 7)
    - my Bootcamp is 5.1.2
    - using 8Gb USB-Stick (which I've used 3 years ago for installing Windows)
This is what I have tried:
    - initially, running Bootcamp, it removed my old Windows Partition, so I don't have Windows anymore. Then, it wanted to install Windows, but required a CD (which I am missing).
    - after some days googling I've found a way to change the Info.plist (adding my Model and Boot-Rom Version and removing the word Pre in <key>PreUSBBootSupportedModels</key> in Bootcamp Package, so Bootcamp has now the option to create a USB from .iso
    - so, I've created a USB-Stick with Bootcamp, downloaded all support data and started the process: the problem comes after restart: there is a permanent Apple Logo. After waiting even for the whole night, which did not help, I turn off the Macbook and turn on again: in that case the black screen comes up and it says: "Non system disk, press any key to reboot". Nothing happens till power off. The message comes every time, until I press alt/option during the start and choose Macintosh Drive from the list (which shows me only Macintosh and Recovery: no USB).
    - since nothing worked, I've decided to disconnect my old HDD from the laptop and only the USB with Windows is inserted in the USB-Port: nothing changed, it even got worse: after the reboot from Bootcamp the gray screen stays for like 10 minutes and then the frozen apple logo appears. Restarting the Laptop changes nothing.
So, does anyone have any idea, what I should try? I've tried 2 different Windows 7 64 bits. Should I borrow an external CD-Drive, burn Windows on DVD and try that? Or is there a problem with 64 bit? Or something else?
    Really appreciate the effort.

He did not lock it after, I am writing from the very same laptop now, the only problem is I can't Install Windows so I can use windows only programs becauce when I try to do so and when i get to the point of restarting the laptop holding the option key - a big Lock with a place to type a pass comes on screen and nothing else happens untill i restart again without holding the option key pressed
