Forms Recognition - Sizing

Hi,
Does any one have sizing metrics for Oracle Forms Recognition? I need to know how big has to be the server to process 12k pages per month (about 600 per day).
Thanks,
Fabio

If you haven't already resolved this, you need to contact Oracle Sales to license your OFR (aka WFR) implementation. it is licensed by the processor.

  • How do I use auto-form recognition to create PDF forms in Acrobat XI?

I used to use Acrobat 9 to create PDF forms that would allow me to fill in text into the fields that were created.  Acrobat XI seems to have changed the way this function is performed.  Previously, I could run an auto form recognition wizard, do some minor tweaking, and be done.  Now, when I attempt to follow the process in Acrobat XI, I get the following message that pops up:  "No new form field annotations were detected.", and no fields get created.  I could do this manually, but the process of doing so is very clunky and cumbersome.  Once I create a new text field, I must then go back and resize it.  This would not be a problem if I was only working with a few fields on a single page, but I have a six page document with multiple fields to create (text fields, check box fields, etc.).  Perhaps I'm missing something, but there seems to be no simple way to do this anymore.  It's making me want to just install Acrobat 9, so that I will have back the feature that I used to have.  I'm using Acrobat XI on Mac, but I'm assuming the function should be the same in Windows.  I can use Preview on the Mac to simply type in the text that I need, but I was hoping to pass along the PDF so that others can use it as well.  This is not just a one time thing.

There are no APIs for C# and external applications for this conversion.  There is however an API for Acrobat plugins to perform this operation.   So, if necessary, you could write a custom plugin (that calls the API you need) and expose that via some form of IPC to your C# app.

  • Integrate Business Activity Monitoring (BAM) with Oracle Forms Recognition

    Hi All,
As per project requirement, I have to integrate Business Activity Monitoring (BAM) with Oracle Forms Recognition.
Does anyone have an idea how can this be achievable from OFR Verifier?
    Thanks,
    Moumi.

    Hi All,
Apart from my previous queries, I found that there is an sample reporting program - Oracle Application Express application has been developed and tested using version 4.1 of AppExpress.
To access OFR tables I run the below script in below sequence in my local IPM environment as found in this link- http://workplacedba.blogspot.in/2012/11/ofr-odc-installation.html
    Seq 1 - 01-OFR-AP-Tables_Oracle.sql
    Seq 2 - 02-OFR-AP-Reporting_Oracle.sql
    Seq 3 - 03-XX_ROUND_IT.fnc
    Seq 4 - 04-XX_ROUNDDOWN.fnc
    Seq 5 - 05-XX_ROUNDUP.fnc
    Seq 6 - 06-OFR-AP-EBS-Views.sql
    Seq 7 - 07-INVOICE_NUMBER_FORMATS_INS.sql
    Seq 8 - 08-Insert Into Company.sql
I couldn't found the below queries in my installables -
    Seq 3 - 03-XX_ROUND_IT.fnc
    Seq 4 - 04-XX_ROUNDDOWN.fnc
    Seq 5 - 05-XX_ROUNDUP.fnc
    Seq 7 - 07-INVOICE_NUMBER_FORMATS_INS.sql
    Seq 8 - 08-Insert Into Company.sql
can anyone provide me these sql scripts?

  • Oracle Forms Recognition - non-Accounts Payable application

    Hi
I've done a couple of projects using Oracle Forms Recognition (OFR) to process invoice images for Invoice Automation. Recently, I was asked to configure OFR to process some images for another purpose, as a proof of concept. Put simply, I just need to grab a couple of values from scanned images. No validation required.
Here's what I have done so far:
    - I created a new project in Designer, and have been able to create the new fields that I want to pull off the images.
    - I copied the AP ini file and have configured it as best I can
    - I created a new RTS instance and pointed it at the new ini file.
However, when I try to start the RTS instance, it starts and then stops straight away. I checked the OFR logs, and there are no errors that I can see.
Does anyone have any suggestions about possible culprits for the RTS issue? Also, any suggestions on how to configure the ini file would be appreciated. For exaple, there are a lot of sections in the ini file that relate directly to AP. For instance, the PON_ sectionrelates directly to the PO Number field in Designer. Where is that relationship defined?
Finally, regarding the Learnset - obviously, with AP with have the supplied Learnset. With my custom solution, I will have an empty Learnset. Any suggestions how to get the process moving with an empty Learnset?
    Thanks for any thoughts,
    A

Just in case, I have to ask if you've set the RTS batch scanning delay mode to something other than the default of 0 which scans once and stops?

  • Oracle Webcenter Forms Recognition A/P Project

Hi, I am new to OFR. I am using ODC and OFR for scanning and verifying the documents and have automated the complete process. However, I am required to generate reports based on OFR statistics such as documents Imported, OCR, Extract, Export, Vendor Analysis, Invoice Processed, etc. using Apex reporting application(application express). I have some scripts for creating reporting application in apex. It is been mentioned to execute those scripts using application builder, but after installing Apex I don't find any application builder unlike after installing the database 11g express edition. However, those scripts got successfully executed using Template Application in Apex, but am not able to use that application. All I need to do is run a URL for getting those reports based on ORF statistics, but I am not able to open the URL in web browser (error: error processing request - no data found). Can any help me on this or let me know if I am doing anything wrong?
    Thank You

There is a sample non-AP project for Forms Recognition available though the Knowledge Base on My Oracle Support.
While this sample is not a 'tutorial' it does go some way to describing the process of creating a project from scratch, and provides a 'starting point' for doing that.
The Knowledge Base article containing the sample project is available here.

Software: Oracle WebCenter Form recognition 11.1.1.8.0

You are getting this message because the WFR web server is trying to access the project file in a directory that is not valid on that server. I assume that path is correct on the Designer machine but the web server is on a different machine?
Assuming the project file is on a file server, you should share that folder then open the project in Designer via the UNC path to the share. Then, go to the Options menu and select the Users, Groups and Roles... option. On the Users tab of the Project Authentication dialog, ensure that the Allow Database Authentication option is checked, then click the Export to Database... button. That will create an entry in the database for that project pointing to the UNC path instead of the local path, so the web server should then be able to access it (provided you have assigned sufficient permissions on the share).
Alternatively, you could copy the project folder structure to the web server on the same path as it is on the Designer machine. This should work but will cause issues for ongoing administration of the project, as you will need to keep the copy on the web server synchronized with that on the Designer machine. I wouldn't recommend doing this.

  • Forms Recognition Line items validation

    Dear all
I'm working on a Forms Recognition POC whose delivery date is on 10/10. I want to disable the validation of the amounts from the line items and total amount, how can I do so?
    Thanks and Best Regards

There are few things i believe you need to do here. One being search the AP Project PDF that comes with the solution, i believe there are a few settings in the INI that will set default Non-PO which should disable the line item matching portions of the scripts thus never having to validate the line items.
To disable to total's validations, open the script editor for the invoices class, search and comment out all instances of the following function 'fnValidateAmount', that should remove all the totals validations. Or you can modify that function to fit your projects needs

that was helpful but still am not able to make it work let me reexplain the situation.
I have installed OFR and ODC?
I have ODC put scaned files into "commit".

  • Oracle Forms Recognition: Brainware Learning Error

    Hi Everybody,
First of all, thanks to all the members for their co-operation in solving all my previous queries.
Currently, I am working on the development and customization of the AP package of Oracle Forms Recognition for one of our client. I added a few number of fields in that and now i am trying to add document to learnset by making fields to learn. but i am facing error in that saying :
Cannot Compile, Maybe not enough classes defined or too few documents assigned to the classes
Cannot learn the BrainwareView: Default View
    SERbrainware : Learn, learning error(7)
I tried changing the classification engine in the AP Package.sdp file and tried to classify the classes to the Brainware Classify engine Classification to pick the data.
Please, anyone help me in resolving this error.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Chandan, SYSTIME

    Hi Eric,
Sorry I didn't give the full details. I am actually working for the Non-AP project which has no need of PO related fields. This Project is mainly for the Banking Statements.
And so, As per the project need I had to add a few custom fields to the existing AP Package in addition of removing some of the fields that AP Package has it in Designer. Or To create a new project from the scratch.
I tried adding custom fields to the existing AP Package and deleted the non required fields.
As you said, I did the same. I classified it to the Template Classify Engine and then added the Custom fields and removed the PO related fields. But This caused me error in the Script and also the error in learning Documents.
If possible can you send me your mailing address so that, I could send you the Snapshot of the error that, I got.
    Thanks & Regards

  • OFR (Oracle forms recognition) ERROR

    Hi ,
I am currently working on Oracle forms recognition(OFR) . I downloaded OFR and the installation was perfect . In the downloaded OFR component dey have given a predefined AP Solution project for automating invoices , so i loaded that proj and started working on it with all the configuration settings mentioned in the AP_Installation guide .
Initially i started importing tiff images and it went on well generating xml file outputs , but after trying to import a pdf invoice file OFR is not able to recognize the fields .
So again i tried importing a tiff image to check whether OFR processes it corecltly unfortunaltely OFR Recognition Admin throws an error stating
    " Import Step:Failed to add file D:OFR projects/AP/Import/sampleinvoice.tif"
it will be really helpful if anyone can help me fixing this error !!

to what is it attempting to add the file? did it fail with a batch open? did you restart the RTS? did you purge any files from the associated directories to clear the queue?

  • Oracle Form recognition--Change required in Script{VB}

Hi all, I am trying to change the status of incoming invoices from ODC based on the priority{ 1,2,3,4,5}.
the script is available out of the box  and I need to customize it, but I am not getting it.How to do this.
I have gone through the Oracle scripting guide for the same, but not getting much help from there.
I am new to Oracle Form recognition, please help!

    Hi Tony,
In my previous reply, I was under the assumption that our organization was on the way to upgrate our Core application (on production) to Oracle 10g, well now I have found out that this is not possible, because our DBA's attempt to apply patches after installation of 10g has failed and we are not going to upgrade to 10g until a replacement for this system is put in place. This forces us to stay with Oracle 8i for some time to come. As a result, using client_host is no longer an option because as you know WebUtil only works with Orace 9i or later. Having said that, what should I try to use instead of 'Client_host'? I still would have to call a VB application from an Oracle Form 9.0.4.
    Thank you in advance,
    Seyed

  • Parameter Form Fields Sizing

So here's a weird problem, and I know I've solved it before a few years ago. Basically when our reports parameter form renders the html table columns are all being sized to like 60,000, which is causing the parameter form to render as a huge website (involving lots of scrolling to get to each subsequent parameter). When running it locally or on one of our other servers its not a problem.
I vaguely remember there being a configuration file under Oracle Forms that I corrected to fix this, however I can't seem to find what I need to fix. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
