Forms will not open

Since I upgraded to a paid account, the form I would like to use will simply not open. When I try to open it, the program says it is retrieving the file, goes back to the main page and then nothing works. All I can do is close the program. It is completely useless as is. I had high hopes....

Can you please try to open the form again to see if it works?
I've noticed that the form had the footer cell expression that were causing issue during load, so I needed to remove this expression ("= AVERAGE(@Date Closed - @Date Submitted)"). We will need to investigate more why this expression was causing this issue and fix it.
Meanwhile, one workaround for calculating average - is to add a non-bound column (that would not appear in the fillable form html page) into the response table ( directly in the View Responses tab, by clicking on + sign between columns) and calculate average on values in this new column in summary cell:

  • InfoPath 2013 form will not open in browser

    Greetings All,
I have a scenario where I have created a InfoPath 2013 form and it will not open in the browser; it always opens it in the rich InfoPath client.
The only thing I have done differently here is to apply a content type, from the content type hub, to the form library.  I am doing this because I was to reference the same content type in a records center; which would allow me to easily move instances
of the form data file to a records library.
When I exclude the whole custom content type thing, the form publishes and can be opened in the browser without issue.
    Any suggestions?
    Thank you in advance...

Hi Bob, at the risk of sounding too obvious, do you have your library set to open documents in the browser, and in the InfoPath settings?
    cameron rautmann
    Hi Cameron,
Yes, it is.  What I have been able to determine is; there is something special about the Form content type.  If I create my own content type, derived from From, it won't work.  Very weird.

  • Form will not open with adobe reader when using chrome and mozilla

The form opens fine in internet explorer, but when opened with chrome and mozilla it says that parts of the document could not be displayed and the 'submit form' and 'print' functions do not work? how do I get it so that the forms open with adobe reader as a pdf automatically instead of opening in another search engine tab?
    Thanks

    Hi
Chrome and Firefox use their default PDF viewers instead of Adobe Acrobat / Reader and hence most PDFs will not be fully functional in those.
For that you just need to change the settings :-

  • Acrobat will not open a form

    This is a weird one.
As of last week, my acrobat pro will not open a "form".
Unless I disconnect from the network, then it opens fine.
The form can be opened on any other computer in the company but not this one, if it's connected to the network.
    What I have done.
    Uninstalled, and re-installed.
    Uninstalled the network software reinstalled
The only think I have not done is reinstall the entire OS.
    Ideas anyone?
    thanks!
    Nancy

What does "will not open" mean? Is there an error message of some kind?
Does this only happen with one file, or with all files?
Is this file located on a network drive? If so, what happens if you copy it to your local computer and try to open it?
What's your exact version of Acrobat and OS?

Version 4 is oh so old.
The IRS and many other providers of forms are using products like LIveCycle which require at least version 7.05.

We use Adobe Acrobat PDF files as a means to electronically provide forms & publications. You will need to have the Adobe Reader software installed to access them (available FREE from the Adobe Reader download page on Adobe's Web site). We recommend using the most recent version of Adobe Reader.

  • Pages 08 will not open

Pages 08 is very slow to open or will not open at all.  I am using OS X version 10.9.3 and having the same problem on my imac and macbook pro.

Do you have Pages ’08 installed anywhere at present? Apple is up to their Robinson Crusoe tricks again, and it would be best to export those older Pages documents to MS Word .doc format. Then backup the source and export documents. No where does it state that you have to use the new Pages and its issue quagmire.
If you need absolute document compatibility with Office 2013, then Office for Mac 2011 and all attendent updates would be the solution. The free LibreOffice (and earlier family history) have provided MS Office compatibility since the early 1990s, including inline form controls, and astounding variety of document support. Imagine the Office 2003 user interface and no ribbon tool bar. No lipstick or foundation, but competent.

  • IChat will not open

So I've had my macbook pro for awhile, but never got around to setting up my iChat. but for some reason, when I click on the icon on my desktop, the window for iChat will not open. The status bar at the top shows that it is open, but I can't log in, set up an account, open any windows, or do anything with it really.
    Any suggestions?

    Hi,
When iChat is opened for the very first time then you get sent through a set of Start up Screens
    See here
If you did this and did not Set a AIM Name or an Jabber one (and there are variants of both) then iChat will not show you a Buddy List (Open window)
However from the iChat item in the menu bar you should be able to access the Preferences item
What shows as dark text on your menu drop down will vary depending which windows are open and what Accounts there are.
Are you saying you cannot access the Preferences  ?

  • Adobe Reader 9.3 will not open in Adobe Acrobat Pro 8

We are currently running Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional Version 8.2.0 with Acrobat Distiller 8 and Adobe Live Cycle Disigner 8.0. I have downloaded Adobe Reader 9.3, but it still will not open 9.3 documents it defaults to the Reader 8 and I get an error message.
How do I change the default Reader to 9.3 or do I have to buy the upgrade for Adobe Acrobat Pro 8 in order to be able to open and use on-line forms that require 9.3?
    Help!

Well that is my question, we have a fully authorized and purchased Adobe Acrobat Pro
    8.
When I do an update for Adobe Acrobat 8, it does not install the updated Reader 9.3.
In order to update the Reader to 9.3, I have to install it seperately. It does that, but when I open 9.3 it defaults to the 8 Reader.
So I guess the answer to my question is that I have to update to the 9.3 full version of Adobe Acrobat Pro, what a rip by Adobe just so we can use the newest "free" Reader.

Itunes document manager pro will not open a document with .cwk extension. It will catch the document then error message states that it cannot open document. Can anyone tell me what Im doing wrong?

Forgive my ignorance but I have never hear of iTunes Document Manager Pro. If you mean Document Manager Pro, i was able to find that. Back to your problem, have you tried opening one of those files in the iOS iWorks apps? Form the quick read that I did about this, .cwk files can be opened by Pages, Numbers or Keynote, depending on what type of document that it is and those files can be read by Document Manager Pro, after properly saving them. I don't see that you can go directly from the .cwk file in Document Manager Pro without converting them first.
I took a very quick look at the app, so I may be a missing something about its capability.

  • Adobe Reader XI will not open MMS Links

I am trying to create a document in PDF format for a client that has an MMS link in it but it will not open from Adobe Reader. I got someone to test it with Adobe Acrobat and it works. If I try to create the document from Adobe Acrobat it doesn't make a difference. I have my default web browser set to Internet Explorer since that is the only web browser that works with this kind of link. (Microsoft Media Services). I can copy and paste the link into Internet Explorer and it will Launch correctly so it is something specific with Adobe Reader.
Any suggestions on how to resolve this.
I am creating the document with Word 2013 and saving it as a PDF ( The Links works fine form Word.)

    Some other things to try...
    Update to Reader version 11.0.5
Can you open Adobe Reader by itself?  If so, try disabling Protected Mode [Edit | Preferences | Security (Enhanced)].
If you cannot open Reader by itself, try to disable Protected Mode in the registry; download, unzip, then run the attached registry script
It could even be a malware issue; see http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/reader-core-dll-error.html

  • Nothing works - no icons on desktop, finder will not open, etc.

I am running OS 10.4.7, and suddenly, nothing works. Finder will not open. iTunes will not open. Trash will not open. iPhoto will not open, etc. The only programs that seem to open are Safari and Mail (though Safari crashes if I try to watch any video, as Quicktime will not open). Moreover, all of the icons on the desktop have vanished, along with the info bar up top. Spotlight will not open either. I can't access the hard drive directory. Any suggestions? Or, should I just take it into the shop?
    Thanks.

Hi, WillhelminBend. Welcome to the Discussions.
    1. What changes did you make to your Mac, if any, before this problem arose? If the problem arose after making a change, it's possible the change is the cause.
