Forms with MS Vista/IE7

SunGard's Banner University system uses Oracle Forms. One of our engineers was able to get Forms working on that system with Vista and IE7 -- our app server is 10gas 10.1.2.2. He was able to get a workstation with Vista and IE 7 to work with Forms by tracing the error from Jinitiator 1.3.1.26 he stated that " the npjinit13126.dll was calling jvm.dll out of the C:\Program Files\Oracle\JInitiator 1.3.1.26\bin\hotspot directory-- this jvm.dll was throwing the exception. I replaced the jvm.dll with a newer jvm.dll 6.0.0.105. I tested INB (Banner speak for internet native forms) and found the forms to function normally. Had some Banner users here in HR try it out and so far no problems to report..."
Wonder if anyone else has seen this workaround or wants to test it in their devel or test environment.
If nothing else, it may at least give desperate Vista users a workaround for the short term before a permanent fix comes--any more word on when Sun/Oracle are coming out with that?

What you have done is basically install 1.6 of Sun's plug-in in a way that we have not certified. And we have not certified 1.6 yet! Why not just install 1.6 directly. At least you know that the plug-in works. We are planning Vista support with 1.5 for 10.1.2.3 of Forms which is planned for the summer (June-July).
Having said that, I have seen other people do this and it seems to work. Good luck with getting Support if a problem only reproduces with this "hacked" version of JInitiator though.

I don't have Vista, but in XP I have found deleting the printer driver
and re-installing sometimes works.

Oracle Application Server Patchset 10.1.2.3 (Vista + IE7 + Forms Support)

Does anybody have a clue as to when Oracle will be releasing the 10.1.2.3 patchset for Application Server 10G R2.
We were under the impression that November 2007 was the release month, however from Metalink and other sources it seems that now we are looking at the first quarter of 2008.
Ther matrix located at http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/forms/htdocs/10gR2/clientsod_forms10gR2.html is over 6 months old.
Oracle at Open World a few weeks ago announced that Vista IE7 is certified with their own ERP which also uses Forms, hence this contradicts the fact that Vista IE7 is not supported till patchset 10.1.2.3. Does anybody know what the hold up could be

If you contact Oracle Support, they can give you an estimated release date. This will be a 'no sooner than' release date. Releases may always slip if issues have been found that need to be fixed before the patchset is released to the public.

Adobe Reader X can only save reader-enabled forms. Adobe Reader XI can save all forms.

When open forms with IE7,meet an error

today when I opened forms with IE7, IE could not open forms again, but this time IE did not crash .
MY IE version is 7.0.5730.13
EBS version is 11.5.10.
How to solve this?? it has bothered me for a day

Can you reproduce the issue from other clients or it is just specific to your machine?
What is the error you get when you try to open the forms?
Please make sure you meet all the requirements as per (Note: 285218.1 - Recommended Browsers for Oracle E-Business Suite 11i).

When available Form 11g & Jinitiator work with Microsoft Vista

When oracle will produce Form 11g & when oracle will support Windows Vista throw Jiniator (Because now Jinitiator is not working with windows Vista ! ).
Is there an estimate time for producing Form 11g or Jinitiator work with Vista?

Forms v11 will come with Oracle Application Server v11 and that is scheduled for FY 2009 which means May 2009 at the latest.
We will not certify Vista with JInitiator. We know it doesn't work with Vista and since it is based on Sun's plugin v1.3 and Sun has said that they will not fix the Vista related bugs in 1.3 we cannot make it work either.

I would like to know if somebody already has a solution to have access the EBS 11.5.10.2 saw to browser IE 7 with Windows Vista.
Some notebooks of users (customer) has windows vista installed and it does not have access.

That is unfortunate and may now be dated. I recently bought a laptop with Windows Vista Premium as OS. At work, I did try to logon wirelessly to apps server. I could logon to the applications. But when the applet starts running, IE7 tried to download the JInitiator and it took a very long time to complete. Thinking it is in hung state and going nowhere, I closed the window and downloaded JInitiator from OTN. Installed it and then tried accessing apps. No luck. The browser restarts and goes back to the browser's default home page. The same happened with Firefox 2.0 also.
Finally, I tried Netscape browser 8.1 and after prolonged patient waiting, it worked. But did not work in IE7 and Firefox 2.0. I suspect it may be something to do with the firewall settings. I am now planning on uninstalling Firefox 2.0 and reinstalling it.
Bottomline, I could access apps via the applet using Netscape browser 8

Captivate is not compatible with Windows Vista RTM

I can confirm that Captivate 2 is not compatible with Windows
Vista (RTM Final MSDN). I have been testing it on several systems
with various versions of Vista. It had partial success with RC2,
but with RTM it crashes quite frequently (when vista is drawing new
windows). I can't tell however if captivate is directly responsible
or if it is perhaps an incompatible version of Flash (current using
latest version 9 beta) that is to blame. However, since Vista is at
RTM then I would say that it is now the responsibility of Adobe to
fix the compatibility issues with a new update. Technically vista
is not due to domestic market until january 07, however businesses
will be able to purchase vista in only two weeks, and as Captivate
is generally used for business/training use i would certainly think
that it should be of high importance that these issues are
resolved.
Can anyone else comment on their experiences with Captivate
and Vista?

You have a valid point. However, you are making it in the
wrong venue. How? Well, Adobe doesn't normally make it a habit of
visiting the peer-to-peer support forums. This means users
supporting users. If you are concerned that Adobe is aware of this
issue, you should really consider using a different channel. The
Wish Form. And you can easily get there by simply
clicking
here.
Now I don't claim to be a guru of anything in particular, but
it seems to me that businesses are very slow to adopt things. They
tend to take a very pragmatic and slow approach. Many are just now
making the leap to XP! So I'm guessing that Vista will be slow to
gain ground. I'm also confident that the Captivate team is well
aware of the Vista issues and will be addressing them as best they
can.

Is Reports6i compatible with Windows Vista?

Currently were using Windows XP as our OS and Oracle Reports6i for our reports. But we have encounter this problem when three of our PC's here was upgraded then used the WIndows Vista. When they started using our system then execute the report its not working anymore. What do you think the cause of this problem?..Is ORACLE Reports6i compatible with Windows Vista?

Forms 11g on Vista 64

I am unable to install Forms 11g on Vista 64 bit. I've applied all as Jan Carlin's suggested and had no success
The installation fails on Create Domain. the installation basically timeout after 10 minutes or so with errors relating to Node Manager
I've tried with Sun JDk, Jrockit, Windows 95/2003 Compatibility mode and Native mode and all fail at the same place.
I've also noticed that I can not run Windows scripts installed by Forms installation (*.cmd) either.
(like startWeb...) I get an error line "\Smart was not expected ..." on the command line.
two questions:
is there a way to get Forms 11g working on Vista?
is there going to be a patch for Windows Vista / Windows 7 and when?

I search for abotu 2 days and i found something interesting...
My way, was to find where in those CMD files there was an error....

I tried to remove it, and the message change !

I was thinking Oracle doesnt like the space in the folder name (Like he doesn't like it in the middleware location)
BUT in fact, it's was de (x86) !
SO my workaround was to remove every entry with an (x86) on my PATH variable, and the installation just go fine !
Hope that will help lot of people having problems with Forms 11g on Windows x64!

The above code executes well with no problem at all!
As you can see the file to which i create and save and open my pdf report is
AssignedDialyzer.pdf.
The column headers of table in pdf report from c# windows forms using iTextSharp are
"Reprocessing Date","Patient Name","Dialyzer(Manufacturer,Size)","No.of Reuse","Verification" and
"DialyzerID".
However the problem i am facing is after execution and opening of document is my
column headers in table in pdf report from
c# and datas in it all appear in bold.
I have browsed through net regarding to solve this problem but with no success.
What i want is my pdf report from c# should be similar to following format which i was able to accomplish in vb6,adodb with MS access using iTextSharp.:

Recognizing an iPod with Windows Vista

I have a new computer that came with Windows Vista. I have not been able to get iTunes to operate correctly for Windows Vista to recognize the USB connection to my iPod. Anyone have a patch or downloadable software suggestion to resolve this?

I finally figured I had nothing to lose--I'd just downloaded a new version of Real Player, which supposedly will work with iPods and Windows Me--and I let my computer format the iPod, hoping that would let it work with Windows again. Apparently not. Now it won't turn on--it's giving me the folder-and-exclamation-point icon. Resetting it didn't help, and I can't restore it because I can't install the software to my computer in the first place.
I suppose the only thing to do is borrow a friend's computer or something.

Ipod touch with windows vista

Hi,Im looking into geting the ipod touch,but I have read that the ipod touch does not work well with windows vista. I know the new itunes 7.5 just came out. Has that version fixed the problems with the ipod? Also what are the problems the ipod touch is haveing with vista. I have windows vista 32 bit OS. Thank you very much for your help.

Hey, yeah I have major problems syncing to Vista. The album artwork is assigned to the wrong songs or sometimes a chunk of the picture is not in the right place, some of my songs stop half way through the song then the iPod skips to the next song on the list. My movies periodically decide to crash and the only way to get past these spots is to skip ahead (which is very difficult on the iPod touch especially when the movie is long cause you dont want to miss too much) but yeah just letting you know that there ARE some issues with it not saying that yours will do the same but it might.

Error ~69 with Windows Vista?

I just purchased a new Gateway with Windows Vista to replace my Dell with XP. Ever since I purchased my Gateway, I am unable to sync any iTunes purchases or material imported from CDs to my iPod 30GB. I keep receiving the ~69 message "Unable to sync to iPod. An unknown error occurred. (~69)." Following this error, the iPod only seems to sync the songs that I've recently played on my iPod when it's been disconnected from my computer.
Is this a problem with my iPod, Vista, or some combination of the two? I do not see any songs that should be causing a problem, and my entire library synced with no problems on the Dell XP machine.

Unfortunately, I tried every solution on the page (including restoring) and it still doesn't work. I thought the problem was because of a bad video file that iTunes warned me to delete, but that doesn't work at all.
There has to be an issue with Vista. The iPod worked just fine on my Dell with Windows XP. As soon as I switched computers, it stopped working. What issues does iPod have with Vista?

Multisim 10.0.1 is compatible with Windows Vista, and this is a free update. Go to the Drivers and Updates page, and select your edition (Student, Educational, Power Pro).
