Forms9i standalone

HI Gentlemen,
I have a Forms9i application which I now can start standalone thru an URL like http://server:8888/forms90/f90servlet?config=myconfig.
It is fine, however, sometimes it does not start and I get the message that it could not log in with the server. So, it is unstable, I can not find out, why.
Could you help me?

Miklos,
if you cannot log into the server then this has to do with OC4J and not with Forms Services.
From the description it is hard to guess what's going wrong on your installation. Maybe you are on DHCP and cannot connect to the server ????

I installed Forms9i Developer on a newly installed O/S which is MS 2000 Professional. Just to have a try I made a test forms and tried to 'Run' it. It opened a Web page saying "Page Cannot Be Displayed".
FYI, I installed Jinitiator and also started OC4J, but still forms failed to display on the web.
Please advice if I have missed out any vital config.

OC4J 9.0.3 Standalone and 9iAS 9.0.2 mid-tier

We are currently running Forms9i and Reports 9i services on a mid-tier installation of Oracle9iAS 9.0.2. (Solaris). We have also developed some JDeveloper 9.0.3 applications that need to be deployed onto the same server. I understand from previous discussions on both Metalink and OTN Discussion Forums that it is not possible to upgrade the OC4J components of the mid-tier installation to 9.0.3 as the Forms9i and Reports 9i services are only certified to work with 9iAS 9.0.2.
My next question is can I install Oracle9iAS Release 2 OC4J 9.0.3 standalone components into a separate ORACLE_HOME from the mid-tier 9iAS 9.0.2 in order to deploy the JDeveloper 9.0.3 applications ?.

hello,
i am not sure how you invoke report services from your java application. i assume you are using a URL to access the report. in that case your application will still be able to point back to the 902 servlet to access reports services.
regarding the use of classes on the 903 application : reports services can only access classes that are in its classpath. so if you can put the classes you need in reports' classpath defined by the environment of the 902 instance you should be able to access it.

Forms9i: FORMS PATH for locating libraries

Hello,
I'm just beginning to deploy Forms9i in a standalone development workstation (there's only Developer Suite installed there).
I don't seem to be able to correctly specify the FORMS PATH for the libraries, that is, I keep receiving the message ORA-06508 (CANNOT FIND PROGRAM UNIT).
I set the FORMS90_PATH variable in DEFAULT.ENV to the directory where the PLLs are... Well, that's another thing, I didn't compile the libraries to PLX, I left them as PLLs? Would that be a problem?
I would appreciate any help you could give me.

You can use PLLs thats ok. I would first of all make sure that the default.env file is being picked up . If you download filemon from www.sysinternals.com you can track what files are being opened.
You should also check that the Forms90_Path is not more that 255 chars (if it is it gets ignored - its a Windows problem).

Is there a limit of how many resources can be shared via a single Resource Pool in Project 2010 Professional standalone?

We have a single master project resource pool of over 150 resources that are shared across let's say 10-15 sub projects or sharer files.
We are using Microsoft Project Professional (standalone no project server)
Are you aware of any limitations outside of project server with resource pool and sharing, or should we be using Project server (as I have read a lot of articles about resource pool sharing working better in project server)
I'd like to get clarification on:
1. I read that the calendars for resources (of which there could be many shift patterns etc.) should always be created in the master project only, not in the sharer files. In my testing I see that a shared resource also brings the additional calendars from
the Master Project file - and can be chosen in the calendar column from Resource sheet.
2. Each sharer file can have it's own specific project calendar, but the resource calendar (used by the assigned resources from the pool) will drive the scheduling (as per normal), unless;
3. A specific task has a 'Task Calendar' applied to it AND "scheduling ignores resource calendars" is ticked.
I am trying to find an article that addresses, in detail, the limitations or 'look out fors' in this area. I have found plenty about how to create and share resources, but this is more troubleshooting.
Any advice or direction that can be given would be appreciated. Thanks.

No limit to resources, but linked master and resource pools are at high risk of file corruption if you rename, over-write or move a linked file without removing it from the master and pool first. Files will corrupt, its when not if.
Master files should never have any resources or tasks in them, only inserted projects.
I much prefer creating master files with the Link option deselected. This copies all data and consolidates resource info (so no pool needed). I record a macro to create new masters each week. This method has no corruption risk.
Your alternative now is to experiment with Project Server. By far the best way to prototype a system is to get Project Online through Microsoft, ProjectHosts or Bemo. It will give you access to a vanilla project server very quickly and cost for a few months
testing is trivial for a few users.
If you go ahead with a full implementation I strongly recommend getting a qualified Project Server partner to help you implement the full system.

Looking for a simple, standalone desktop app for web stats

Well, I see they've changed the forums here again. SIGH.
Anyway, a certain web host has eliminated AWStats from it's shared hosting. So I used Webmaster Tools. And now they've changed, and no longer display the simple visitors and hits. Google Analytics is way too complex for what I need, as are many of the stats programs I've looked into.
I can download the daily Apache log files, that's no problem. Just looking for a small standalone program to import these and show the data like AWStats. Any suggestions? The only other options would be to go to a different web host. Not a big deal overall, but I would rather not deal with the hassle, especially the migrating the database.

Not sure of standalone 'desktop' apps. But check out http://www.openwebanalytics.com/ and Web Analytics in Real Time | Clicky - they're both very intuitive and easy to use with a lot more simplified stats than Google Analytics.

I created from scratch a new Fusion Web app. It just has 1 ADF read-only table based on the HR.COUNTRIES table. It runs perfectly on the integrated WL.
I cannot deploy it to my standalone WLS. The error:

Error while deploying ADF application to a standalone weblogic

jdeveloper version: 11.1.2.2
Issue: I have built a standalone weblogic server (10.3.5.0) and am trying to deploy my ADF application to it. The deployment fails with the following message. The stand alone server I have built is on the same machine where jdeveloper is installed and I am using same weblogic that came with jdeveloper install. The aplication runs fine on integrated server. I have researched this issue and have got more or less same answer of installing ADF run time libraries. Can someone please help me with exactly what I need to install and how?

Setting up Free Goods in CRM 5.0 Standalone

Dear Friends,
We are trying to set up Free Goods in our CRM 5.0 standalone environment. What we want to realize is that, if customer buys product A, product B will be added to the order automatically as free of charge. So far we have no idea how to get this set up in the system.
In R/3 you can specify 'requirement' in each condition type. In the 'requirement' section you can add a small ABAP program that might realize the functionality. However, it doesn't seem to be the case in CRM.

Hi,
While defining the Condition types in IMG system will ask the Application and Usage,select the applicatioin CRM, Usage is Free goods.
CRM Standalone condition records maintain from the Transaction code
/SAPCND/GCM - Condition Maintenance, after entering this code give the Application CRM than select your Free goods condition type maintain the values.
Relationship maintains in the condition records only, Once you select the Free godds conditin type than all required coloumns will pop up enter your product and Qty with the offered free goods product.

Issue in Data transfers using ALE for E-Recruiting standalone system

Dear Experts,
We have an issue in data transfers using ALE. We are having standalone system where E-Recruiting is maintaind seperately and the version is EHP5.
When we configured iDoc in Sandbox and its working fine. But when it comes to Dev and Quality servers this is not working fine.
we have created iDocs using the following filters.
For Object P: Infotypes 0000, 0001, 0002, 0003, 0006, 0024, 0105.
For Objects O,S: 1032, Subtype: 0010
For Object: 1001, Subtype: A003, A008, A012, B007
For Object O: 1001, Subtype: A002, B002, B003, B012, Tyoe of related object: O,S
For Objects: C, O, S, Subtype: 1000, 1002, 1028
For Object:C, Subtype: 1001, Subtype: A007
When we do the data transfers in Sandbox using PFAL it is transferring the data properly.
But when we do the same iin Dev and Quality servers we are not able to do it and gettign 52, 51 errors.
Here we are facing a strange issue. For some Users when we transfer data it is transferring data but with 52 error messgae.
For some users I am getting 51 error where i could not transfer any data.
For some users, when we tranfer O, S, and P related data is moving but getting mostly 52 error and all the relationships are not moving here for O,S and properly. But P related CP, BP and NA are getting created successfully.
It is happening only in Dev and Quality server and that too some users are able to get transferred but not all.
Where will be the issue? How can we resolve this?
Any help will be appreciable.

ISE 1.2 Standalone Mode

Hi Experts,
Good day!
I just want to clarify if I can provide posture assessment in ISE 1.2 even if it is in standalone mode because some said I can but based on my understandings of ISE since 1.1.4, I need to convert it first to an IPN mode for it to provide posture assessment.
Please help, I'm a little bit confused.

ISE standalone node can provide posture service, you need to make sure you have advanced license on ISE. IPN is for NAD that do not support COA.

Can not promote server from Standalone to PDC

Hi,
I am currently trying to promote my SMB service from a Stand Alone server to a Primary Domain Controller (PDC). It get to an Authentication window asking for my Directory Admin name and password. Which I enter correctly. I click okay, and the setting for PDC changes back to Standalone Server.
I have verified that my DNS settings are correct, and that the DIRADMIN password is correct as I can athenticate to it in Workgroup manager.

I remember having a problem like this, I think my issue was solved by using the username 'Administrator' not 'diradmin'. If I recall correctly the username and password it was looking for was for the Windows domain, not the OD.

It will be for me too expensive at the minimum cost of £9 per month. The additional services that CC brings are personally of no relevance or usefulness. Adobe should be prepared to support existing users who are, like myself, non commercial, amateur photographers by giving them the simple opportunity to upgrade to Lightroom 6 as a standalone, perpetual licence product. As a member of a camera club I know my co-members who use Lightroom are equally disappointed by this move to a subscription-only service.

Yes, but when I bought my standalone license and clicked on the "Download" button it took me to the LightroomCC page. The downloaded file is named Lightroom 6, but in the CC app the installed program is LightroomCC (2015).

How to deploy an application in OC4J standalone?

I'm trying to deploy Jspell 2004 in a standalone OC4J 10g. All my attempts have failed thus far, as I admit, I don't really know what I am doing.
I've found several articles, including those from Jspell, and they all start with 'deploy the war file' but how?
I don't know where I should deploy the WAR file or exaclty which config files I need to modify. I've tried under OH/j2ee/home/applications, OH/j2ee/DevSuite/application-deployments and always get the 'Error instantiating web-application' no application found on server.'
I'm using the OC4J strictly for forms/reports running on port 8889 and that all works fine. When I start the OC4J, it is referencing the server.xml file in the DevSuite/config folder.
Any ideas?

Yes. If you wish to deploy only a Web module then you can utilize the default application OC4J is configured with. This is a two step task:
First, tell the container about the WAR file to be deployed. Open the <J2EE_HOME>/config/application.xml file in an editor. Add a new <web-module> tag and specify the attributes for your WAR file.

Secondly, tell the OC4J HTTP server about the new WAR file and provide a URL to access it. Open the <J2EE_HOME>/config/http-web-site.xml file in an editor. Add a new <web-app> tag and specify the attributes for your new Web module. It's important to note that the application attribute must specified as "default" since you have deployed your Web module to the default application. The name attribute should match the ID attribute you specified for the Web module.

The WAR file will now be deployed by OC4J and accessible using a URL of /hrweb.
