FormsCentral-PDF

I created a form in formscentral and now want to download it and use it as a PDF. What is the best way and options for me to do this? I understand I will have to purchase it, but once I do that, will I be able to go in and edit the form if needed through one of the other Adobe programs?

Hi;
With a paid subscription you can download the form as a PDF.  The only real options are to include a Submit button so that the data is still sent to the FormsCentral servers and available on the "View Responses" tab, or to save without the Submit button if you plan to have the form returned through email etc.
A few of the features available in the online forms are not in PDF such as Attachment fields, Paypal support, and skip/page logic.
What types of edits are you thinking about doing after saving the PDF?  You can always go back into FormsCentral and edit the form, you would want to re-save a new PDF after editing so that those changes are in the PDF you distribute as well.  If you wanted to make changes Adobe Acrobat to the PDF that is possible and I can point you to an FAQ about editing the PDF.
Thanks,
Josh

  • FormsCentral PDF Form- How to View Multi-line Fields

I have a FormsCentral PDF form, which allows users to fill out the form and save as a PDF. However, after receiving the completed forms, I am unable to see all the text in the multi-line field boxes without opening them and scrolling down. Since I will be sharing several of these competed forms with a review panel, please let me know:
    1) How to display the entire content of the multi-line field boxes rather than having the reader scroll down, then
    2)  How to save the completed forms so that its read-only when I send it to the review panel

I can point you to some online information.  I really don't know the steps myself.
This blog talks about how to do it in LiveCycle Designer: http://blogs.uoregon.edu/developments/2010/12/29/pdf-making-text-fields-grow-to-accommodat e-text/comment-page-1/
You could also consider asking the user in this post for their idea on how to do it without making a dynamic form (LiveCycle): http://forums.adobe.com/message/4841774
Is there a reason you don't use FormsCentral to collect the responses?  You could sign up for a 1-month subscription unless you have security or other reasons not to collect with FormsCentral, and then you'd be able to collect your responses and download each one as a PDF form individually and that form would be locked and have expanded text fields.  You could stop automatic renewal and you would still have access to the form and responses in your Free level account (but could not collect more than 50 responses, if you already have greater than 50 those would remain).
    Thanks,
    Josh

  • FormsCentral PDFs not working for Linux and Unix users

I recently created a PDF (using Indesign > Acrobat IX Pro > Formscentral [AFC]) that includes radio buttons, form fields, linked videos set to play in the PDF once clicked and (after running through AFC) a submit button.
The form has been distributed and we have already had hundreds of successful responses collected in the AFC site, all is working well there.
One major problem we are having is that we have a lot of Linux/Unix users and the response from them is that they can't activate the videos, the form fields are out of kilter alignmentwise and the submit button does not work. Even when using the proper Adobe Acrobat Reader (v9, for example).
Is the Adobe development team aware of problems such as these for Linux/Unix platforms and is there a suggested fix that they know of?
The link to the actual file is here: http://cms.iopscience.iop.org/alfresco/d/d/workspace/SpacesStore/b5a48eac-8642-11e2-8cf8-e 50acbc9fd86/NJP-Video-Abstracts-Competition-2013.pdf
    Thanks in advance

    Hi Jesse,
can you email me ([email protected]) the original PDF (before you imported it in FormsCentral)? Also, I'm curious about the format of the video in the PDF. Does the video in the PDF worked in Linux/Unix before going through the FormsCentral import/export?
When I look at your PDF on my Red Hat Entrprise Linux 6.0 system with Reader 9.5.4 it does look fine (location of the fields) but the video generate an error (which I'm still investigating). I have not yet try the submit button on your form (as I don't want to submit bad data to you) but I seem to have an issue with the submit button on other PDF forms I generated (when I try to submit from a linux machine). Still investigating that as well.

  • Field visability problem in FormsCentral pdf-form.

I made a form in FormsCentral which was saved as a pdf. I got a filled in form from my colleague and the text in the fields does not show. Only when you mark a specific field the text in that filed appears but dissapears again when you select something else. What could be the problem here?

Yes, it was filled with Mac Viewer which caused the problem. The original form had to be refilled using Adobe Reader.

  • Making a FormsCentral PDF work on a web site

How can I get my PDF form (FormsCentral) to accept the Submit button and send the results in? The PDF works fine on my desktop, but when I upload it to the web site the Submit button doesn't work.

    Hi
If you want to embed a FormsCentral form in your web site, please embed the html form directly. Please follow the steps below to embed a form:
    1. open the form in design view
    2. go to Distribute tab
    3. Click on Embed button
    4. copy the script snippet and embed the scripts into your html web page
    PDF forms won't work.

  • Prefilling Info on FormsCentral PDF

    Hello everyone!
I was hoping someone would be able to help me with an issue I am having with my FormsCentral fillable PDF.
I am trying to create a questionnaire that can be completed by our clients and submitted online. I have everything ready to go on my custom made form, but I am now trying to figure out if there is any way that to have select info (Ie. Name, phone number etc) prefill so that our clients are aware of the info we currently have on file and can advise of any changes. Our current quesitonnaire prefills from our client database and prints out a word document that is mailed out. Going electronic would save us trees and money!
I am trying to determine if there is any way that this can be done, otherwise this isn't going to work like my boss wants.
I would really appreciate any help!
    Thank you!

    Hi;
There isn't anything in FormsCentral to enable or automate this workflow.
You can certainly save the PDF of the form yourself and save a copy for each customer with the data pre-filled (by you) and then distribute each of those customized PDFs to the users.
    Thanks,
    Josh

  • Integration of FormsCentral .pdf documents into Excel Database

Can anyone help with integration of the data contained in the fields and spreadsheet features of .pdf docs into an existing Excel database that hosts questionnaires?  The Adobe FC website says that can be accomplished by use of an Open DataBase Compatibility Driver (ODBC) to import FC-created documents into an Excel database.
Has anyone done this or have a source for the ODBC tool or a developer?
    Thanks

I am not familiar with the document you are referring to. Can you post a link to the information so I can check its accuracy.
    Thanks

  • Adobe Acrobat Pro XI, FormsCentral: PDF erstellen funktioniert nicht

Updates sind gelaufen - dennoch funktioniert es nicht.

    Hi Pat
I tried to save the attachment to the hard drive in Outlook 2013.
When opening the file in acrobat the error says that the file is either not a supported type or damaged (incorrectly encoded)
I have Acrobat Pro XI version 11.0.10 and windows 7 64 bit installed. It worked perfect on Acrobat pro X until about December 2014. In tried a repair, a clean install of XI. The files are bank statements. It works on Mac and Adobe reader, so the files must be correct.

  • Adding metdata properties to PDF saved from FormsCentral.

    Hi
We are using FormsCentral to save PDF forms out of FormsCentral to ensure they are reader enabled without a submit button.
The important issue for us is that PDFs are reader enabled by FormsCentral as and we want to be able to receive back more than 500 responses.
It seems once a form has been exported from FormsCentral to a PDF, you cannot update the metadata (document properties) in Acrobat.
We don't want to have to save a copy then edit it Acrobat Pro as that then puts us back under the Acrobat EULA licencing rules.
We want to ensure all our PDF forms on our website have metadata for search engine indexing etc., but can't see how to add it once
    FormsCentral has created the PDF.
Is there anyway to add metadata to a FormsCentral PDF?
    Thanks

    Hi;
When a PDF/form is Reader Enabled it is "locked" except for the specific tasks that it was enabled for.  The Reader Enabled rights have to be removed to make any additional edits.
I don't think there is a work around, you could try posting in the Acrobat forums since this wouldn't be a FormsCentral PDF specific issue, but I really don't think there is a way to do it.
    Thanks,
    Josh

  • Is it possible to embed a newly created form into an existing PDF?

    Hi,
I have an exisiting pdf (3 pages of text and images) that I need to add a form to on the last page. I've created a form but don't know how to embed it, and I have a feeling there's a better way to do it.
The idea is that we can then email this PDF to people and they'll be able to fill it in.
I'm a new user and can't find out how to do this- I'm sorry if i've missed something obvious!
    Thank you in advance.

    Hi;
You can do it with Adobe Acrobat...
First: Create your form in FormsCentral and from the Distribute tab "Save Submission-Enabled PDF"
Second: Open your existing PDF with text and images in Adobe Acrobat and in Acrobat go to Help - Find and type "Insert Page from File" (under Tools depending on the version of Acrobat you are using) and add the FormsCentral PDF to the existing PDF and save
The resulting PDF file would include the FormsCentral form and submitters data would be collected on FormsCentral servers for you to view/download in the View Responses tab.  You can also set up Email Notifications and Submission Reciepts that would all work with this PDF form.
    Thanks,
    Josh

  • Error message when trying to upload a pdf file to a form

A user was trying to upload a pdf file to a form I created (Contractor Vanpool Application Form). The parameters I set, was that it had to be a pdf form, less than 20MB and a single file. She met these parameters, but when she hit the submit button, she received this dialogue box message:  Warning: JavaScript Window - File Attachments are not supported in FormsCentral PDF forms.  Please contact the form author to send the file attachments another way. This dialogue box prevented her from even getting as far as selecting the file and uploading. Another user was succesfully able to upload a form, so I know this is working.  So I changed the parameters to allow multiple files in any format, and she still had a problem.
She states is using windows 95, Internet Explorer. Help, Michelle

In Form Central, when I add a field, I select the Add File Attachment icon (see screen shot below - it is the 10th icon from the left, the paperclip over a sheet):
Then it allows me to fill in the field, describing the file to upload, and the properties to the right defining the file size limit, type of file and other properties.  This is all done through formscentral, thus allowing a user in my form to upload a file that is attached to the form when submitted.

  • Issues with Saving Data as PDF

    Hello,
I have a PDF form, created in Acrobat, and uploaded into FormsCentral. Once a user fills it out and submits it, I save the record as a PDF. The downloaded PDF has a couple of issues:
If there is a default value for a radio button field, the new PDF shows the default button AND the actual answer BOTH clicked on. This makes it very difficult to see what the actual answers are.
One of the fields on the PDF is blank, even though it is a required field and data was entered by the user. If I click in the field, the text is visible. If I click away, the text disappears. I am also unable to print the text. The field happens to be the last field on the form. It is one of two essay questions that each take up a full page. The first question is fine. The second question has this issue. As far as I can tell in the original PDF, prior to import into FormsCentral, the two fields have identical properties.
The workaround we discovered is to open the PDF in Acrobat, export the data to a .fdf file, then import the data back into the original, pre-FormsCentral PDF. That seems to solve both issues above, but is very cumbersome for our purposes. Any ideas on what the issue is? Any help would be most appreciated!

    Hi Josh,
I did try downloading a few different responses into PDF, but have not seen a difference in the radio button display. I have tried both old records, as well as those we received yesterday. Is there a change that I need to make to the PDF?
Regarding the text display issue, I have been observing the records we have been receiving, and the display issue is intermittent. Sometimes the text displays fine, other times not at all. Sometimes just the top portion of the paragraph is truncated. I have also seen issues occur in other, smaller paragraph-type fields on the form, not just the last two essay questions. I'm not sure if this helps. In addition, we received 2 records yesterday on another form that is similar to the one described above, and the text displayed perfectly. This form was actually created before the others that have had isuues. I will share that form with you, as well.
Thank you again for your help on this!
