Formula Experts Please Help! - Extracting text in numbers
This may be very simple, but I have cells with a variety of text in it. I want to test the text to see if it contains a value, and if it does return one value, if not another.
eg. cell contains text "01239 Personal drawings account 89"
Is there a way in one formula to check if the text contains "personal" and return a value if it true or false?
My formula: =IF((SEARCH("PERSONAL", T(cell ref)))>0, "YES", "NO")
This only works if the text contains 'personal' otherwise it returns an error.
I'd like to nest it into one formula if possible, but I'm not sure the easiest way.

Great, glad I could help. Sorry if it didn't completely satisfy. Here's a more refined version which I didn't offer on the first serving because it somewhat clouds the primary function. You may find that you would prefer that testing blank cells gives a blank result rather than a "No" result. The formula for that simply requires that you wrap the first formula in an ISBLANK test as follows: =IF(ISBLANK(B2), "", IF(ISERROR(SEARCH("PERSONAL", T(CellRef))), "No", "Yes"))

BDC - table control - experts please help

Please help. I am in need of your help.
I am working with BDC and I have a table control in one of the screen. Table control has a check box in the first column. While recording how I entered the data is : I select the check box in a row, enter two values in next two columns of that row and then hit enter then the other columns in that row turn from grey to white (initially these columns are greyed out).
NOw in BDC when I run my session in foreground, I am able to check(select) the check box and enter the values in next two columns and then I have a Enter OKCODE. But when I hit enter it is not able to recognize the row and its unable to turn the greyed out columns in that particular row to white.
Is there a way to specify in my program that I am hitting enter in one particular row.

Thanks for the replies. I will try that. I got one more doubt. While manually creating the recipes using C201, there is a screen Recipe header. When I record this transaction, I see a different screen for the Recipe header. Fro example the screen numbers are like 4210(manual) and 4211(recording).
But my problem is there are two fields which are missing in the screen which I am getting while recording C201. These two fields are present on the screen for manual creation. I need to enter those two fields while I record. But how can I do this.

There is nothing that will help you short of getting the password for the Apple ID from your friend. If you cannot obtain that there is no workaround. -

only event for textfield get notified and if I implement the interface, only event for frame get notified

I currently have no sound on my HP Spectre XT Ultrabook PC!!! Upon buying the laptop it had Beats audio on the laptop. That stopped working recently, but I still had the normal reduced audio, until that stopped completely soon after. I have tried multiple things to fix this problem, all without success; I tried troubleshooting the problem, I tried updating the audio driver (it said I already had the most current version), I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the driver, I tried updating the BIOS on my computer and NONE of these have worked; I still have no sound! Please help to fix this problem!

Apex don't bother to test all validations straight to GIGO and end user see those ORA-.
I have a page that the tabular form has a default value (not LOV but default value) the validation is not working, GIGO....
Any expert please explain is this suppose how Apex work? or do we need to handle those default value.
I try to debug the page with good one and bad one, I think I still have a lot to learn I don't understand the debug message. I guess is something about Branching....

Unfortunately there isn't really much that could be done to work around this issue in 4.0.x. The validation logic treats these new rows as not having been touched by the user, hence they are ignored. But the DML (update/insert) logic thinks the data did change due to that default value, and thus attempts an insert for the new row. There might be a way to trick APEX into doing the right thing with some JavaScript, but I would advice against that, considering that this might break after a future upgrade.

This thing has been discussed many times. This is not advisable that you take loan for starting your career in SAP until and unless you have hundred percent job surety which is almost impossible. You have to sacrifice your prior non IT related experience. When you start career in SAP you start from scratch. Please help! Will iWorks Numbers work with XLS or Excel Spreadsheets
A friend of mine wants me to make her a spreadsheet and I use a PC with MS Office Excel. My question is... Will she be able to use and view a .xls spreadsheet on her new Mac? She has either Iworks Numbers 2008 or 2009. I'm not absolutely sure. I know it's a new computer. The spreadsheet will be fairly basic and the formulas will be simple addings for misc. expenses.
Please let me know if this will work.Thanks! The spreadsheet I made is a basic list for expenses that automatically adds the entered amounts in each column to sum up the individual expense. I also have a column on the right that adds the amounts entered in each row. Lastly I have one cell which provides a grand total of all expenses combined.
From your reply I'm afraid I will have to make a road trip. As my friend lives quite a distance from me. I was hoping to simply create and email the Excel file to her. With my formulas to you think they will conflict with Iworks Numbers? How much different is Mac Numbers to Excel? I have never seen or used it. The formulas I used are simple =SUM(X:X)formulas and the first calculating cell I have set is not A1 but D4 etc.
I'm sorry to have so much to ask but will the layout stay the same and what will happen to any protection settings I set?

The following should be verified:
(1) check what DB instances the listener currently is aware of. This can be done with the command 'lsnrctl services'.
(in case you listener does not have the default name LISTENER, then use 'lsnrctl services <listener name>' )
(2) Perhaps there is an issue with the dynamic instance registration, even though the error code is different, you should nevertheless check the points from note #563574.
(3) Verfiy the value of the parameter local_listener (see mentioned note). Since you have changed the listener, the parameter might still be wrong.
In case local_listener is correcly set you should give the command
ALTER SYSTEM REGISTER;
a try.

I have a weird situation and requirement.
The existing setup is -
We have email/ticketing server hosted in the LAN which is reachable on the publicly NAT'ed IP with respective port numbers of 89 & 443. We have LAN & servers on the same subnet. The internet is with public DHCP IP assigned by ISP (/29). We use linksys router GUI for NAT settings (attached).We are using the same public IP for the server NAT & user NAT.
We tried to refresh our network by separating the subnets for LAN users & servers. We used the Cisco 3845 router to create sub-interfaces in the LAN and configure respective subnets. Now both user subnet and server subnet are connecting to the Internet with same public IP (static NAT for servers & dynamic for users). We can connect to the server IP from the Internet and it resolves fine. However user LAN subnet cannot connect to the server if we try the URL. Users can access the Internet fine.

Hi, please help about text and divided/summed cells
Here's my problem: I need that the text in a cell exceeds the right border of it, and this work ok by default.
But when you sum or divide even only a pair of cells, in all the cells of that column the text is forced into the borders.
I need to make a sheet of my guests (I work in a hotel), and the plan is this:
- every column is a day of the calendar
- every room has a row, to text in the Name of the guest and some useful info about the room type, a different color for different travel agency etc. Note that for me is very useful to read easily that info, and so the fact that the text goes in the next cells is a must have.
For the next season I was managing to complete this registry adding a new row for each room, where to put in some numerical info, for doing sums of the people I have in day per day ect.
So I was plannig to divide every cell of the second row in two cells, one for the adults in the room, one for the kids, in order to have the sum.
But when I had the second row and divide the cells the text in the upper row is forced into the cell, and also all the text in that column.
Anyone who can help me?

StefanoHere's an example, with three different ways to shot the daily total.
Totals for Jan 1 are shown in the three footer rows. Each is independent of the others, and only one would be used in practice.
Form A is a simple sum of the column: =SUM(B)
Form B separates the integer and fractional parts of the total, then recombines them into a text string:
=INT(SUM(B))&"A "&ROUND(100*(SUM(B)-INT(SUM(B))),0)&"C"
Form C does a similar separation, but treats the SUM result as a text string:
=LEFT(SUM(B),LEN(SUM(B))-3)&"A "&RIGHT(SUM(B),2)&"C"
Note that the daily counts are entered as # of adults, decimal, # of children (using two digits)
Formulas will accommodate any number of adults, and up to 99 children (total). For a higher total, revisions to the entry method (one more digit after the decimal—2.001 in place of 2.01) and to Form B (replace 100 with 1000) OR Form C formulas (replace SUM(B),2 with SUM(B),3 ).
