Formula_result_flag

Hello Gurus, would anyone know what the formula_result_flag column indicate in the table - pay_run_result_values. I'm seeing a NULL, 'D' and 'N'. I believe D is derived, but not sure. Please help!!
There's no lookup_type associated as well.

FORMULA_RESULT_FLAG  - Indicates if the RESULT_VALUE was produced as a result of a Fast Formula calculation

Not sure how it is populating the data.
