Formula variable of type replacement path not working

Hi Folks,
I have created formula variable of type replacement path and replaces with characteristic key.I wanted to use charecteristic infoobjects in coluns so that i have created formula variable for that. But when excecuting the query in web it is not displaying values for that formula.
Can anyone plz solve this,if u come accross this situation before.
Thanks and Regards,

Thanks vineet, for your quick reply.
yes,i have used the characteristic in a row and it is a number.
Still it is not displyaing values. But i need to calculate the couter for the same formula created on that charateristic and need to put condition in the query.
thanks,

  • Formula variable using Replacement path not working

    Dear All,
I am using a query to calculate YTD values in the report. I am using a formula variable to calculate the number of months. Formula is
    Month To - Month From+1
When I am giving the range from 001 to 006 for period in th evariable screen,
I am gettung Month To as 6 and Month From as 6 with total no . of months as 1.
I think Month From is not being caculated properly. I created another formul variable using Replacement path, for characteristic Posting period, replace with a Key and dimension ID as number with out any offset.
    Still not working.
    Any suggestions.

    Hello,
I have seen this document already. It is slightly different from what I am trying to do here than what the post shows. How ever,  I did everything right, atleast seems to be and don´t know why I am not getting the From value from the posting period selected. To value variable is coming right.
    Any more sugegstions.?

  • BEX 7.0: Formula variable with replacement path not working after BW Upg

    Hi all,
We have a formula variable using replacement path for 0MATERIAL characteristic that is used in a calculated key figure, in order to perform conversion factor to change measure units (0MATERIAL attribute).
This was working pretty well until an upgrade from 3.5 to 7.0 EHP 1. The list that is displayed contains all key figures empty instead of the desired values.
Can anyone suggest what could be the possible reason for this?
    Thanks in advance.
    CCS

    Hi all,
    Problem solved!
The solution was based on the u201Chow to...Report Data in alternate units of measureu201D document (for 3x version) . http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/b7b2aa90-0201-0010-a480-a755eeb82b6f?quicklink=index&overridelayout=true
Basically, the upgrade has override the previous changes made in the program LRRSVF20, like the "How to" document refers. Namely, the reference to YBW_AUNIT_ENHANCEMENT program.
We have carried out the changes and, apparently, the query is now working fine.
    Thanks.

  • Formula variable problem on replacement path

    Hi all,
I created a characteristic value variable for the 0CALDAY (ZVAR1) with the following details.
    - Characteristic Value
    - Customer exit
    - Calendar day
    - Mandatory
    - Variable is ready for input  unchecked
Now i need to give the calculated value in customer exit by I_STEP 2 in a new formula variable (ZVAR2).
    So:
    1) I create in columns a new Formula (zFormula)
    2) In edit mode I create a formula variable (ZVAR2)
    3) in edit mode of the formula I set the following details:
      - Replacement path
      - Replace variable with: Variable
Here the problem: when I open the popup on selected box to choose the vcharacteristic value variable I don't see the ZVAR1.
I don't understand where is the problem.
May you help me ... regards, Roberto

    Ok solved.

  • Replacement Path not working

    Hi Experts,
    I have a problem.
I wanted to use a characteristic as a key figure in one report.
So i used a formula variable. I created the variable with replacement path as the characteristic.
In the property of the formula i set the aggregation as the characteristic itself.
When i ran the report, the formula variable is giving me wrong values.
    For example:
This is what it should come,
    Product          Sales order
    Rubber           35000
    Mobile            900000
    But the report generated says,
    Product          Sales order
    Rubber           35932
    Mobile            900789
    Help me pls

    Hi Vignesh,
That will depend on what you want to show.
What is logic for selecting only one sales order against a product(since each product has multiple how will you know which one is the corresponding one??)
If you want the show the first or last values, you can set so in the calculation tab of the key figure
    hope it helps

  • Type - Compound Paths, not working?

so i know i have done this many times i the past, but i'm back in Illustrator afer a long absense and have some type I'm needing to get converted to workable outlines (compound paths?) so that i can do custom tweeking of letters for a logo.
i put the type in, i go type > create outlines but then i cant seem to get to the place where it has a lot of anchors along the path of the type that i can manipulate it? all im getting is each letter in its own square box with 4 corner anchors. i have done every things, including all the compond path comands i think
what the heck am I doing wrong, I have been reading help guides for 2 hours!
Font: Bauhaus 93 (but i have tried a number of font now and all the same issue)
    MacOS 10.7.4
    Illustrator CS3

Two things I would do. From the View menu choose Hide Bounding Box (Cmd(Ctrl)-Shift-B is the toggle). Then if you use the Direct Select tool (Open Arrow) you sholuld be able to select the individual paths.

  • Regarding Variable Proc. Typ REPLACEMENT PATH

    HI EXPERTS,
CAN ANY ONE EXPLAIN HOW THE REPLACEMENT PATH VARIABLE TYPE HELPS IN REPORTS AND IN WHT SENARIOS WE CAN USE. PLZ EXPLAIN THIS WTH AN EXAPLE.
    REGARDS
    RAMAKRISHNA K

    Hi Ramakrishna,
just go throw the below description.
    Replacement Path
    Use
You use the Replacement Path processing type to specify the value that automatically replaces the variable when you execute the query or Web application.
    Integration
The processing type Replacement Path can be used with characteristic value variables, text variables and formula variables.
    Features
    The following options are available:
    Replace with Characteristic Value
Text and formula variables with the processing type Replacement Path can be replaced with a corresponding characteristic value. In the variables editor, on the General tab page under Reference Characteristic, specify the characteristic that is to be referenced by the replacement. In the Replacement Path tab page, you can choose whether the variable is replaced with the From or the To Value and with the Key or the Name of the characteristic value. You can also specify the Offset Start and Offset Length for the output.
    Replace with Query
Characteristic value variables with the processing type Replacement Path are replaced with the results of a query. In the variables editor, on the Replacement Path tab page, select the query whose result you want to use as the variable. You can now process the data result of the selected query as a variable in a different query.
    Replace with Variable
Characteristic value variables, hierarchy variables, text variables and formula variables with the Replacement Path processing type can get their values from a different variable.
The following prerequisites need to be fulfilled:
    Variable
    ●     The variable must not be input ready
    ●     The variable must represent a single value
    Source variable
    ●     The source variable must not be a hierarchy node variable
    ●     The source variable must be input ready
    ●     The source variable must be available in the query
    ●     The source variable must represent a single value or an interval
In the variables editor, on the Replacement Path tab page, specify the source variable from which the value is to be determined. The value is either determined from the key, the external attribute of the key, the description, or the attribute value. You can specify an Offset Start and an Offset Length for the output here.
The variable is replaced on the variables screen upon each data release.
    Activities
In the variables editor, on the General tab page, choose the processing type Replacement Path.
    Example
If you specify a variable as a characteristic value, you do not have to give a text for the characteristic value right away. Instead, you can fill the text field dynamically, according to the characteristic that you use for the variable when you execute the query. To do this, define a text variable with automatic replacement.

    Shailaja

  • How the Replacement path is working in the variable.

    Hi SDNers,
Can any one give the scenario, how the processing type "Replacement path" is working in the variable.
    Thanks,
    Satya

    Hi,
    For example..
If you want to find the Ton 10 customers for company you will develop a query and based on some condition you will get the top 10 customers.. and again if you want to see the top 10 customers sales or products what they purchased then you go for another query to develop. In this case.
In the second query create a variable on Customer object with Replacement path as processing type in that you have to mention the previous query (i.e., top 10 customers). Then it gets the values of top 10 customers from the previous query and generates the report for requirement you want.
    Hope this is clear.
    Veerendra.

  • How to feed a query using a variable defined as Replacement Path-Query

Scenario description : BI NetW 2004S - InfoCube with the following characteristics Customer, OrderDate, OrderYear and the following KeyFigure Number of Pieces.
Objective: I need a query "QB" that shows how many pieces a set of customers has ordered in the year 2008. The set of customers is defined as all customers that in the previous years (the user can select one or more years) have ordered more than 500 pieces within the same year.
Implementation: In general terms the idea is to build a query "QB" with the characteristic "Customer"  that is restricted (filtered) using a variable that is fed by another query "QA" (Replacement Path-Query).
In order to have the selection of customers that for each of previous years (2007, 2006, 2005,...) have ordered more than 500 pieces, in the query "QA":
    - I put OrderYear as filter and defined a variable in order to ask the user which year/s he wants to analyse to define the selection
    - I put Customer and OrderYear in row
    - I put the KeyFigure Number of Pieces in column
    - I've defined the following condition: Number of Pieces > 500 with the option Caracteristic Assignment = All Characteristics in the Drilldown Indipendently
Now if I run the query "QA" it works correctly showing me all customers that in the selected years have ordered more than 500 pieces within of the same year.
If I run the query "QB" it shows a correct result only if I enter only one year (for example 2006) in the OrderYear field (coming from the query "QA"); if I enter more than one year (for example 2006 and 2007) the selection of customers showed is not the same defined by the first query "QB": I was expecting to see all customers defined from the first query less all customers that have no ordered any piece in 2008.
    Questions
    1) Why is query "QA" working on a different selection of customers when the user selects more than one year?
    2) Cosidering the scenario and the objective described above do you have any other idea?
    Thanks
    Ciao
    Roberto

    Hi Christophe,
it's ok for me if I consider the customer only once in the final selection of customers that feeds the final query, this is my objective.
However as test I've created 2 "input" queries, one related to 2006 and one related to 2007, and then in my destination query I've tried to restrict the customer using 2 variables of type replacement path-query (one attached to the 2006 query and one attached to the 2007 query). Unfortunately when I try to check and save the destination query, Query Designer tells me it is not possible to restrict the characteristic in this way.
Could you please describe me steps you run in to order to restrict a characteristic using more than one variable of type replacement path-query?
Thank you in advance for your answer.
    Ciao,
    Roberto

  • Charateristic variable with Processing type "replacement path"

    Hi all
    I am using BI 7.0;
    I have a characteristic ZPL_CNT in one dimensions of a Cube;
now i want to use the value of  the ZPL_CNT as column in Query.
So i created a formula and a formula variable with replacement path of processing type:
    setting:
i created a new formula "Calculated MBZ"
the formula variables is "ZMBZ" and inserted the variables into "Calculated MBZ"
    Reference characteristic: ZPL_CNT
    Processing type : Replacement path
    Replace variable with: Attribute value
    Attribute: characteristic Reference (constant 1)
But i find the value in Query incorrect
Can anyone help me solve this problem?
    Thanks!

    Hi Dragon,
Can you not drag and drop this characteristic directly in the columns...have I misunderstood something?
I think when you use replacement path in the formula variable , the fromula variable tries to find the reference characteristic value at each record level in the report and then replaces it with attribute value as defined and may be in your case as the characteristice is not defined in the row , it has problems to identify which value of the characteristic it has to replace.
    Regards,
    Sunmit.

    Hello,
I found issue, that file type associations is not working in App-V 4.6 SP3. When I try to open associated file with double click I receive next window:
Translate: This action is only valid for products that are currently installed.
I have checked associations in App-V Console and in OSD file, everything looks like OK.
    Maybe someone has some ideas?
Could you please share them with me?
    Thank you in advance.

Is this only happening on one client machine? If so can you completely clear the application and re-stream\cache it again?
If that fails, you could try to create the FTA locally on the client

From the screenshot, It seems that the object  _renderer did not point to any memory location.
You can verify this by putting a breakpoint in method IF_IXML~CREATE_RENDERER of class CL_IXML
If the return value RVAL is initial, this mean there something wrong with the kernel module abkm_iXML_CreateRenderer. If it is, you will have to check with your Basis team to apply some kernel patches.
    Hope it helps. Cheers!
