Fort Wayne, In. HTC Thunderbolt no 4G connection all day

Hey when I first bought my Thunderbolt I was in 4G connection at all times nearly, but today for some odd reason it has only been in 3G connection.  I have tried hard resetting/ pulling the battery and also I have checked the settings to make sure they were correct.  I have even put it in lte mode only and all I got was 1x bars.  I guess I'm really curious as to why this has happened today.
Any answers are greatly appreciated,
Jimmy

Hi Jimmyfb55,
I would also be curious as to why you could not pick up the 4G signal on the 14th when you posted.I competely understand your frustration. I want you to know that I have checked my references and I do not show any reported outages for the Fort Wayne, IN area on that day. I am, however, glad that you were able to connect to a 3G signal, so you could still use data on the Thunderbolt.
Since posting, has the issue been resolved? Are you now able to pick up a 4G signal?
Please post back and let us know, thanks!

    Hi pbworth,
When troubleshooting issues with iPod classic, it may be helpful to place the iPod into Disk Mode. For information on how to do so:

  • Verizon email account removed from HTC Thunderbolt

My Verizon email account has mysteriously disappeared from my HTC Thunderbolt. I have tried a number of times to reinstall the account onto the phone but I keep getting a message that it won't connect to the server. I am receiving my emails on my Verizon account on my pc just fine. I have called Verizon Wireless who told me to call Verizon for their email settings. The email settings on my phone are correct. They match the email settings on my pc. I did call Verizon anyway. They gave me different email settings to try. That didn't work either. I called HTC. They say it is a Verizon server problem. I have been getting the runaround for two days now and one Verizon tech offered to transfer me to someone I would have to PAY for support. Another wanted to rout my email through my gmail account. No one knows what is wrong. Does anyone have any answers? I tried switching to 3G. It didn't work. Thanks.

I am confused, is it a verizon email account ([email protected]) or is it a hotmail account?  why do you have any hotmail settings.
Try following the instructions at www.verizon.com/repair
they should set you up just fine if you are using a verizon.net account.

Can anyone help me connect my Macbook Air to a SAMSUNG TV.  When I follow the basic instructions (Thunderbolt to HDMI connection) the screen on my computer goes grey and an error message appears inviting me to press any button to restart the Macbook.  When I do this nothing happens.  Only when I disconnect the computer from the TV does the Macbook allow me to login. The TV does not receive any signal from the Macbook even though I know the HDI port works fine.  Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?  Do I need to enable something on the Macbook?

    An update...
I downloaded Apple's (rather large!) list of software updates today, and I was finally able to recognize my iPod again. I did a restore using the iPod updater from 06-2006, and all seemed to work OK. (I'm afraid to try the new one again!)
Then I tried to re-load my music library from iTunes, and got stuck. It froze up after a while and wouldn't go any further.
When I disconnected my iPod from my computer, I find 2 podcasts and nothing else, though iTunes told me it had transferred 600+ songs. Those 2 podcasts do play fine, and the basic iPod software all seems to be intact.
So -- anyone get through this connection problem and have any ideas to share??

  • Gingerbread OS for HTC Thunderbolt available date?

Does anyone know when the Gingerbread OS for the HTC Thunderbolt will be available. My son has a Droid X and was able to update his DroidX with the new Gingerbread OS via OTA update.

I'm still patient also, I have been able to put off the MR2 update.  Thought they were going to catch up with me when I was in KY last week.  I made a mistake and let the firmware download, however, I was able to defer the installation a couple of times and eventually got the reject box which I did.  The firmware is no longer in "about phone" so I am still happy with what I got.  Will be interesting to see what happens if/when TB gets GB.  I may not install it unless AZSALUKI gives me a good excuse to do so.

  • Iphone 4s battery vs HTC Thunderbolt???

I'm debating whether I should pony up and buy a 4s on verizon even though I'm not eligible for a discount until Nov. 2012 and would have to pay full price. The issue is I have an HTC Thunderbolt and the battery is so horrible (even with everything including 4G turned off and my display turned all the way down) that it hardly lasts me through my work day without going dead. I'm tired of this and obviously there isn't much that Verizon is willing to do for me so I figured maybe I should just buy a 4s now and then flip it on ebay when the 5 comes out which I should be able to get discounted since my contract is up in Nov. What do you think?

BTW I scanned through the thread about people complaining about the 4s's battery life and I don't know if it's as bad as what I'm going through. All I need to do for my phone to basically be dead is check my email, send 5 texts, and browse the net (non flash sites) for 20 min or so and i'm from a full charge down to a half charge. Then about 4 or so hours later I'm in the yellow on my battery bar which basically disables everything and means get it to a charger. Not to mention it's a 4g device that I cannot even use 4g on because then the phone will only last 4 hours (no exageration). I hope that if the iphone 5 is a 4g device that it will be much better battery-wise than what is out now!

  • What is the network unlock code for my HTC Thunderbolt?

I want to unlock my husband and I's HTC Thunderbolts. Our contract is up and we bought our phones out right  before we signed a contract. What is the network unlock code for the HTC Thunderbolt phones?

Thanks. Apparently Verizon isn't really "sorry to see the customer go".  I'll simply buy an unlocked phone and be done with Verizon for good. Two years is to long to be treated like this by them.  I bought my phone and should be able to use it with whatever carrier I want. It is no longer Verizon's phone. Yes I understand they own some of the stuff they put on my phone but by all means they can remove it. I didn't want their crap on their in the first place. I wish the rest of America would quick kissing their rear.  End Rant

  • Thunderbolt cable to connect one mac to another

Is it possible to use thunderbolt cable to connect one mac to another?

Firewire works great, ethernet is very fast...if both machines have Thunderbolt it should work...but what is the purpose of the link?  If for networking purposes it is better to use ethernet.

  • Thunderbolt mba 2010 connection issue!

    Dear Apple,
I have just received the thunderbolt display in few hrs, and I discovered that it's not work with my mba 2010! I make up the decision to order the thunderbolt display, because the shops tell me that is workable, and somehow, seems only thunderbolt machine can connect to that display!
Anyway to solve this by any adaptor or cable? or install anything like efi ? I have tried to install it, but it rejected my request!
Or should I return it to Apple?

  • NEW HTC THUNDERBOLT....WHAT DO YOU KNOW???

Anyone hear anything about the THUNDERBOLT???? I saw some previews and rumors but nothing solid. Any thoughts??

If any of you are still interested, I've been trying to keep up with when the Thunderbolt might be getting released. I heard in-store that they were supposed to get a dummy model on 1/16, but they never received it. they were scheduled to get the test model this week, which apparently has held true, and have the phone for sale no more than 2 weeks after that. So from what I personally have heard, I would say that the Thunderbolt will launch at the end of Jan.
However, everything I can find online says that it is looking to be a month after that, the end of Feb.
There's a lot of info from the last week , and even the last two days, if you follow this Google link and check out the news section!
    http://lmgtfy.com/?q=HTC+Thunderbolt+Launch+Date
And I know this talks about more than just the Thunderbolt, but if you're thinking about the phone, this is a pretty great resource to see.

Sorry to even bring this up, but it's kind of sad that the Verizon iPhone is so outmatched. I know they are going to release a new one in just about 6 months, but there was WAY more potential for it after such a long wait to get it here. Anyways, it IS comforting to see that the phone I want beats out the iPhone in so many ways.

  • HTC Thunderbolt shutting itself off?

Has happened twice.  Both times over night when plugged into charger.  Any ideas?

    From HTC:
Thank you for your email regarding your HTC Thunderbolt. We apologize for the issues you have experienced with the device powering off while attempting to charge. For this issue, our options are somewhat limited.
First, remove any third party applications that may be installed on the device to make sure they are not causing a software conflict. To do this, tap Menu on the Home screen>Settings>Applications>Manage Applications. Locate any third party programs you have installed, tap on the listing and select uninstall. Once this is done, or if you do not have any third party programs, perform a soft reset. This is done by powering the device off and removing the battery for approximately 5-10 seconds. After this, reinsert the battery and test operation.
If the device continues to shut off while charging, attempt a factory data reset on the phone. To do the hard reset, press Menu>Settings>SD & Phone Storage>Factory Data Reset. This will remove all data from the device and reload the current operating system. As such, you will want to back up any personal information remove the micro SD card, if present, prior to following the above steps. If needed, you can back up your contacts to the SD card by opening the people application and select Menu>Import/Export>Export to SD card. You should only need to select the Phone contacts as the Google and Exchange contacts should already be saved to their respective sources.
If the issue is still present, you may wish to contact our repair department. They can be reached at 1-800-229-1235, 8:30 am to 5 pm EST, Monday through Friday. Feel free to contact us again should you have any further questions. If you feel more comfortable discussing issues by phone, you can contact Technical Support at 1-866-449-8358, 6 am to 1 am EST, 7 days a week.
