  • BUG: Searching for the word "united" in Contacts returns far too many results

    To recreate this bug:
    1. I open the Contacts App on my iPhone 5 running iOS 6.0.1.
    2. In the search field within the app, I search for the word "united." (For example, if I am trying to located the address book card for United Airlines).
    3. Instead of showing me just the results of companies/people that have the word "united" in their name or notes field, the app returns almost every single one of my contacts as a search result, EVEN THOUGH THESE PEOPLE DO NOT HAVE THE WORD "UNITED" IN THEIR NAME, DESCRIPTION, OR NOTES FIELD.
    I think this might be happening because I have used the iOS feature of connecting my Contact App with Facebook.  Because of this, many of my contacts have the word "unified contact info" in their description. Although this doesn't entirely explain why searching for the word "united" would show "unified contact info" contacts, the Facebook/Contacts App connection may have something to do with this bug.
    Regardless, if I search for the word "united" on my iPhone, the Contact App still returns almost every single contact as a search result, even though the word "united" cannot be found within those contacts.

    I think it is because the system adds "United States of America" to every address by default.
    You need to search using different parameters, for example, "Airlines".

  • Searching on the Forums

    When searching, it is helpful to first understand the structure of the forums. The discussion forums are organized in a hierarchy starting with category at the highest level and then discussion boards, and then topics within each board. A category is an area in which multiple boards reside. Within a board, you will find numerous user created topics. Within a topic, you will find the original post and the subsequent replies.
    Searching from the Homepage
    When searching from the homepage using the search box located under the main navigation at the top right of the page, you are searching all categories.
    Searching from a Category Page
    Currently, our categories consist of Most Active Software Boards, Most Active Hardware Boards, Additional NI Product Boards, and Special Interest Boards -- as well as 9 various language boards. If you are on one of the category pages you will see the default search option is set to search only the boards within the category you are viewing.
    Click the dropdown menu to change in which section of the discussion forums you would like to conduct your search.
    Searching from a Board Page
    If you are on one of the board pages - such as the LabVIEW board - you will see the search option is set to search only the topics within the board you are viewing.
    Click the dropdown menu to change in which section of the discussion forums you would like to conduct your search.
    Search Filters
    Regardless of the scope of your search, once you are on the search results page, you can make use of the filtering options on the left sidebar for advanced sorting.
    The filters include changing the location of your search, filtering by author (username), date, solved or kudoed posts, type of post (only applicable when searching entire discussion forum), and topics with images or attachments.
    You can also make use of the advanced search form to search for exact phrases, topics including or excluding certain words, and viewing your results by topic or specific posts.
    Spellcheck in Search
    When you are performing a search, the search strings are spellchecked using a weighted dictionary specific to the forum context. When you are conducting a search, your original search string is used as well as a spellchecked version. Depending on the outcomes of the two searches, the search results page displays either the results for the original string or the corrected one, i.e. if one search seems to have better results than the other.
    If you receive spellchecked results and wish to instead search by your original search query, click on the text Search instead for query under the search box.
    Searching for Users
    From any search box, click the dropdown menu to change the search scope to users only. You can search by partial or whole usernames. Use the advanced search options to find results on biography or rank.
    Navigation Search
    On every page, in the main navigation, you will find a search box that allows you to search the entire ni.com site.
    Searching here will yield results from the KnowledgeBase, manuals, tutorials, and more.

    Yeah, I dont know, this whole thing leaves a bad taste in my mouth.  Call me crazy but you would hope that when you buy an expensive phone it would last more than 15 months which is pretty far from forever..  Its ridiculous...  Consider me an unhappy customer.
    Thanks

  • How do I change the default "date range" when searching in the forums?

    Hi all,
    New to the SAP forums...  How do I change the default date range when searching in the forums?  I am getting a 90 day search by default.  Then I have to change it and search again.  Argh!
    Thanks,
    --Amy Smith

    Hi Amy,
    the default date range cannot be changed by users. It is defined system-wide.

    how can you search this forum without searching all the other forums at the same time which is a big fat waste of time.

    Follow this tip to create a bookmark to a search page that searches only the forum you want or...
    Browse with Firefox and enable this Greasemonkey script, which forces all searches from a sub-forum to be local.

  • What happened to the search in the discussion forum?

    It seems we have lost the ability to "search" in the forum. Is it just my Mac or can we not search anymore?

    Greetings,
    With the popularity of the iPhone and it's related discussion areas, we have experienced heavy usage and reduced availability of Apple Discussions today. In order to improve site performance, we have temporarily disabled the following site features:
    * Search
    * Read tracking (the "blue dots")
    * Subscription emails
    We are working to restore these features as soon as possible.
    Thank you for your patience during this unprecedented and exciting period in Apple's history.

  • How do I search just the Dreamweaver forums?

    Hi all,
    I must be crazy but I can't seem to see how to search just the Dreamweaver forums. Two search fields, one for all adobe.com and one for searching all forums but no option to search only this one?
    David

    Hi,
    sorry, I misunderstood. Now, what I do is when I want to search in the DW forum only, I start my search with the word "dreamweaver" an let it follow with the searched terms.
    If you cannot live with that, you could your  "link in that group that said "Search this forum" might be ..." serve as suggestion to
    https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform, where you can "Use this form to request new features or suggest modifications to existing features."

  • How to search to files based on the metadata of the category in CS

    Hi,
    Can any one tell me how to search the files in the content services based on the metadata of the Category,I know how to search based on the Category using
    public static void attributSearch(String searchString)
    throws FdkException, RemoteException, Exception
    // get the Manager instances
    SearchManager sem = s_WsCon.getSearchManager();
    CategoryManager cat = s_WsCon.getCategoryManager();
    CommonManager cm = s_WsCon.getCommonManager();
    FileManager fm = s_WsCon.getFileManager();
    Item folder = fm.resolvePath("/idc/workspaces/BoardMembersProject", null);
    AttributeRequest[] catAttr =
    WsUtility.newAttributeRequestArray("ProjectCategory");
    // create AttributeRequest to retrieve CATEGORIES attribute
    AttributeRequest[] catClassAttr = WsUtility.newAttributeRequestArray(
    Attributes.CATEGORIES, catAttr);
    // define search options
    NamedValue[] nv = WsUtility.newNamedValueArray(new Object[][] {
    { Options.SEARCH_VERSION_HISTORY, Boolean.TRUE },
    { Options.RETURN_COUNT, new Integer(100)
    // get search expresiion
    SearchExpression seExp = new SearchExpression();
    // searchString ="ProjectCategory";
    Item[] item = cat.getRequiredCategories(folder.getId(),catClassAttr);
    seExp = new SearchExpression();
    NamedValue[] attributes = item[0].getRequestedAttributes();
    seExp.setOperator(FdkConstants.OPERATOR_HAS_CATEGORY);
    seExp.setRightOperand("["+item[0].getName()+"]");
    // search documents
    NamedValue[] result = sem.search(seExp, nv, null);
    // search result display
    for (int i = 0; i < result.length; i++)
    if (result.getName().equals(Options.SEARCH_RESULTS))
    Item[] resulItem = (Item[]) result[i].getValue();
    WsUtility.log("Kveni",resulItem);
    if (resulItem != null)
    for (int j = 0; j < resulItem.length; j++)
    WsUtility.log("File " +resulItem[j].getName());
    But how do one search Based on the attributes of the category??
    thanks

    Download the PM accelerator kit appropriate to your environment, and check out the TestSearch2.java example.
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/cs/developer/contentservicesdev/contenservicesdevkit.html
    Essentially you need to lookup the internal names of your category attributes, as well as have the internal name of your category class.
    categoryClassName = ...; // e.g. AHC_XXX
    attribute1name = ....; // e.g. CUSTOM_MYBOOLATTR
    you then create a normal search expression such as
    String attribute1Operand = "[" + categoryClassName + FdkConstants.SEPARATOR + attribute1name + "]";
    SearchExpression expr1 = new SearchExpression();
    expr1.setOperator(FdkConstants.OPERATOR_EQUAL);
    expr1.setLeftOperand(attribute1Operand);
    expr1.setRightOperand(Boolean.TRUE);
    Matt.

  • How do we retrieve the category instances matching a search expression?

    Consider the following (simplified) example:
    We archive consolidated reports. Reports come from different branches each containing the data for multiple departments. We create a category containing attributes for the branch, department, and report date. We apply multiple instances of the category to each report, one for each department contained in the report.
    We can specify the department for our search and get back the reports with matching category instances; however, since the report dates are not necessarily predictable we can't qualify the search by date. What we'd like to do is retrieve the matching category instances and display them; the user would then select the desired instance to specify the report for retrieval.
    We tried requesting the categories and custom attributes with the search, but it appears ContentDB first finds the qualifying reports then returns all the category instances on those reports--not just the ones that matched the search expression.
    I see the SEARCH_FOR_DOCUMENTS, SEARCH_FOR_FOLDERS, etc. search options, but not one for SEARCH_FOR_CATEGORIES (or equivalent). Is there a way to retrieve just the category instances that matched the search expression?

    Unfortunately no.
    As you have found out, requesting Attributes.CATEGORIES on the document will return all category instances. You would currently need to do client-side processing to locate the specific matching category instance by recursing through the category item[] and checking first that the CATEGORY_CLASS matches, and second, the value of the particular category attribute matches.
    If you are building a custom application front-end, maybe you could consider applying a single instance of some master category to the report that has a String array attribute containing all of the associated unique department ids to which the report applies.
    Then having applied the 10.1.2.3.1 patchset (and in particular Enh 5171342 NEED SEARCH EXPRESSION SUPPORT FOR ARRAY TYPE CATEGORY ATTRIBUTES), you could quickly locate the reports of interest for a specific department.
    The master category instance could also potentially contain an array of DeptID:CategoryInstanceId pairs that allow you to quickly retrieve a specific category instance given a department id.
    Matt.

  • Podcast doesn't show up on a search for the title or category.  Also, how do I check title, description, keywords, etc?

    I just put up a Podcast for our church.  Now I need to change the image and check the titles.  Also, when I search for The Village Presbyterian Church, Northbrook, IL nothing shows up.  And when I go into the Christianity section my podcast doesn't show.  It all works.  What should I do?

    Please post the iTunes Store URL for your podcast - this was given to you in the email you received when it was accepted, or you can go to the Store and control-click (Mac) or right-click (Windows) on the image (or where it should be) and copy the URL; please also post the feed URL.

    Bug Search team (Christine Woods, Deepika Vijayakumar, Sam Guemple)

    Hi Sam,
    First off, I wanted to say THANKS to the whole Bug Search team for their
    continued hard work in making BST a great online tool!!
    I wanted to add a couple of further observations on BST in addition to my
    buddy Paolo's initial comments (+5 "P")
    - Version choices in Communications Manager and Unity Connection are not honored.
    For example, if I go through Voice & Unified> IP Telephony> Unified Communications
    Platform> Communications manager> Cisco Unified Communications Manager Version 9.1
    There will be 44,535 results (????) then I have to input 9.1 again in the "Releases" box and
    I then receive the correct 754 results. So BST is not honoring the original choice of
    Cisco Unified Communications Manager Version 9.1. This is the same for all versions as well
    as Unity Connection choices.
    - IP phone 8900 series bugs are actually all listed under the 6900 series (????). If you
    don't know this trick you can never find any bugs related to the 8900 series. These are two distinct
    product lines and the bugs should be sorted accordingly.
    Cheers!
    Rob
