Forum difficult to register with (!)

I appreciate that if you're reading this then you've already solved the problem !
My main issue is that I found it quite difficult to register with the forum because of my installation troubles. I had to restore the shortcuts that were setup by the very first failed installation and then the file that had been deleted (Register.url) from my recycle bin to find out how to register here.
From reading the "Installation Issue - Windows" thread I see that I'm not the only one that has such troubles.
I would strongly suggest that - if customers are to have a chance of solving installation issues without digging about too much simply to find help - Oracle present a link to the registration for the forum more readily associated with the download.
If Oracle are trying to bring more people to their RDBMS system rather than others that may be available, then have have to avoid so many obstacles to installation. We cannot possibly wait until all potential installation problems are resolved before releasing XE for production.
All this may change once Oracle have a production release and they may have planned for that - in which case I'll shut up.
Some might see this as the first challenge - if you can't register for the forum then you won't be able to use the database ;-)
Could I ask that if Oracle don't comment today (Monday) then anyone with an opinion either way on this let their (dis)agreement known by replying - however briefly.

Plus one. The only reason was able to get here on Friday is someone posted the registration URL in the regular OTN DB General forum. Although it may well have been FUE on my part.
I don't know how it works for Linux but I think with windows the Forum Registration menu link was populated the first time we run the MSI. But if we do (as some of us have done) a partial disinstall then we have zapped that link gets and it doesn't get re-created if the C:\oracleXE directory still exists. I think. Anyway, I'm sure I could probably have registered here anyway on Friday even though my install had failed, if only I had known. In short, a documentation bug rather than a flaw in the process.

Dear forum member(s), I was excited at the possibilities that Firefox offered. I have been looking forward to researching on the forums, but I made a blunder when registering.
I changed my email password some time ago and forgot that I had done so. I also have a second email which is similar to my address I was registering and I think I was actually using my the second email information until I caught the mistake.
Shortly thereafter I received an email with my user ID but no password. I had been assuming that I would receive a onetime computer generated password, but I wasn’t sure how things were supposed to go. After closely studying the language of the email, I was led to the conclusion that I would login with my original information I had provided.
My final attempt to register failed and I can’t explain why. I am positive that I had the right user id and password and now I am in limbo. I registered with the "Add-ons" section in 15 minutes. I was never told I was banned, but I was never told I am now a member. Thanks for reading.

Not at all. I have never posted to the forums. The only thing I have written is what you see in this thread. I registered at add-ons section and things were fine. I wanted to use the forums, because I like to learn what I can. The problems began when I tried to register at the forms. At first, I thought my login from add-ons would work at the forums. It didn't. I honestly don't know if there is separate login and validation for each firefox/mozilla section.
When I attempted to register with the forums, I messed up when trying to login because I made too many attempts. I was either using another password from a second email or I misread those weird words they use to make sure you are not a bot.
I don't know what exactly was written but they basically wanted to take a look at things. I felt that was reasonable. After all - I felt like a moron for not being able to read those contorted word tests.
Then they sent me my user id but with no new password so I assumed my current password was the same as the one I originally gave. Long story short, I tried to login again- all three times I failed. They never banned me or told me anything. I have not heard from anyone or thing. To It's like they have just walked away. I just don't understand what has happened and why no one will tell me anything. So... no - I am not banned. When I do bet blocked after I logoff, it has the same effect as a ban. I guess I have been ousted. I just wish this I could get this matter resolved. I changed my password and email so maybe that will keep around.
It's a strange situation and I am at loss for words. I even wrote the forum people an apology letter describing the facts above in details and apologizing for the inconvenience. I actually apologized for being an idiot.
One last thing - at the outset of the post - I told you they gave me one last opportunity to login and it failed. I know for a fact I had the information correct. I had even written my password somewhere else on the screen to where I could see each character to verify the pass word was correct and then cut and paste.
James - who knows what the future holds but I must thank you my friend. At the very least, I could tell my story. It is all so strange.

SIgn in with your Apple ID, the same one you used to access this support forum.
Hopefully, you will see a list of all the devices you registered with your Apple ID, including their serial numbers. Let me know how this works out.
Edit to add: If you enabled "find my imac" on your Pro, you ought to be able to remotely lock it, or even wipe its memory. Click http://www.icloud.com/ sign in with your Apple ID and click the big green "find my iPhone" icon (nevermind the name, it will find all your devices provided they're running Lion or iOS 5).
Then file a police report and nail the b*****d.

11gR2 Install Error, Listener is not up or database service is not registered with it

I'm currently studying towards my OCA, I've passed 1z0-051 (SQL Fundementals I), and now I'm moving onto 1z0-052 (Admin 1).
Im really having trouble creating a database in Oracle 11g R2 Enterprise Edition. I install the software no problem. Then I create a database, and during the creation I have to createsa listener which uses TCP (default port:1521) and IPC. whilst creating the database I get the following error
'Listener is not up or database service is not registered with it. Start the Listener and register database service and run EM configuration Assistant again.'
Now, before you lynch me, I have searched this forum for answer to this for a day and a half. I've also tried google, i just can't find a answer that sorts out my problem. please assist me.
I'm running on Windows 7 Professional (32bit) (I have previously tried on the 64 bit version with teh same results).

I can login as sys into my database through sqlplus, so it seems the database is up and running, it just seems to be a listener problem maybe??

SOLVED!
OK all solved now, thanks to the link to Ed Stevens website that Baris posted (mucho respect )
Seems that like Barus said I was not using Dynamic Registration, which means that I would need to manua
ly update the listerner.ora file. On top of that it seems that for some my tnsnames.ora wasn't resolving mt database name so the tnsping wasfailing.
What I did to solve the name resolution problem
1. Opened the
Network Configuration Assistant and saw that my listener didnt have my DB registered with it. So I added it. What this horrible GUI tool does is update the tnsnames and listener.ora files for you. So once that was done I went to the command prompt and did ;'tnsping <dn name> and hey presto it was getting a nice response.
Then I re-ran my DB Configuration Assistant and tried to reconfigure my database. However it aing failed and gave me the same message that I was originally getting about the DB Service not being registered etc..the lister status still said that same thing:

the 'unknown' means that the DB didnt tell the listener that it was there but instead the listener is in manual mode and will just use the configuration in the listener.ora to know where the DB is.
So then I followed the steps on the ED Stevens website (follow the link). He has steps which show how to enable Dynanmic registration so that your DB regusters itself with the listener. In a nutshell, he states that he listener actually doesnt need the listerner.ora if using dynamic registration. I shutdown the DB, stopped the listener then I renamed the lsitener.ora to listerner.old, then started the lietener and checked the status and it said 'the listener supports no service' I then started the DB and, then resched teh listener status, it then read 'status: READY'... hooray!, the DB had dynamically registered itself with the listener. I then was able to successfully start up and run Enterprise Manager.

TS1474 Two iPhones sharing the same iTunes account - how do we create a new account for one of them now that both phones have been registered with the same account?

We have recently upgraded 2 iPhones to the 4S and are having difficulties registering with the same log in and passwords in iTunes.
How can we re-register one of them with it's own identity and avoid the same apps being copied o both devices?
We would like each iPhone to have it's own identity but use the same computer for backing up.

Hi, you will need to set up a new user account on the computer. The iTunes on this new user will be empty but you can download past iTunes purchases from the iTunes store

XE is not registering with the listener

hi forum,
i installed oracle xe on an empty xp box. everything went smoothly but - like for so many others - my db homepage is not showing (http://127.0.0.1:8080/apex). but thats a different story.
i can connect with sqlplus, i can create, insert into and select from tables. tnsping is resolving localhost, xe, puss (my xp host name), 127.0.0.1 as well as the host ip (192.168.1.102).
my problem is that the db instance doesn't seem to register with the listener, so that when i do a sqlplus andy/passwd@XE i get the german version of what would be ORA-12514: TNS: Listener can't resolve service listed in connect discriptor
when i do a lsnrctl status i get the following:

i know that there are other threads dealing with the same issue, but none of the solutions provided worked for me.
i am in a home network with two other macs connected via wlan. my firewall is turned off. i've tryed every combination of tnsnames.ora and listener.ora settings but nothing worked. after 13 hours of trail and error, reading a lot, wiping the whole box and reinstalling everything from scratch, sitting in front of my vanilla xp plus oracle xe installation, i'm tyred. i need your help.

It turned out that the failing http://127.0.0.1:8080/apex actually was related.
After cutting the network connection and restarting the listener and the db everything worked fine, even the web admin interface.

Property Editor not registered with the PropertyEditorManager

I´m trying to integrate a fully working jsf 1.1 application into JBoss 4.2.2 which uses jsf 1.2 which isn´t that compatible at all.
I just have one implementation of the jsf-libs and not any in the application war.

You shouldn't have any appserver specific libraries in WEB-INF/lib (covered by the webapp's default classpath). Further on the appserver/lib (covered by the appserver's default classpath) should only contain appserver specific libraries and at highest 3rd party libraries which are going to be shared among all webapps. Finally you should NOT have added or modified anything in the jdk/lib (covered by the runtime's default classpath).
So in case of a default and unmodified environment everything should just work flawlessly. In your specific case it seems that you've unnecessarily added/copied appserver specific libraries in the WEB-INF/lib or that you have duplicated EL libraries from (another) appserver in the appserver/lib or maybe -more worse- in the jdk/lib.

A client is trying to re-register with an administrator revoked certificate

HI All,
I have an Azure based server that will not register correctly in SCCM 2012, it is our IBCM server and has been working OK but our 3rd  party support team tried to uninstall the client
on this server a 5 other DP’s (I have fixed those and the clients has PKI certificate) but also uninstall the roles, which has been unsuccessful and now there are the site server and component server roles still installed.
I am unable to install the SCCM client successfully and the certificate says “None” rather than PKI which all my other servers have installed, I have tried the suggestions from

The following are the sequence,
1) uninstall the client agent ccmsetup /uninstall
2) remove the entries of CCMsetup and SMS from registry HKLM
3) remove the Config mgr cert from computer personal store
4) remove the smscfg.ini from windows folder
5) restart the machine

wait for the client pc to auto enroll config mgr client cert from CA
reinstall the client
The client registration successfully went through. I suspect is because the client no
matter how many times you reinstall it tries use the old GUID to register with MP without even knowing that client has been marked as absolete in the SCCM primary site server.
If you restart the and perform the above steps it will flush the cache and try to register
with a mp and get the new GUID from the MP and then it successfully registers it.
So at the moment my IBCM server is not working and I cannot get the client installed

to this server, so we had to delete from the DB all revoked certs even though in the SQL view there were no certificates or SMSGUIDS related to the server itself.
So running
select
*fromclientkeydatawhereisrevoked='1'
Update
clientkeydatasetisrevoked=0
whereisrevoked=1
resolved the issue and the client installed correctly.

Use the GUID in the error message to find what application it is.
Using Regedit, navigate to the following registry value:

In the right pane, double-click

When do consistency check for a sharepoint content databse : that RBSID in table AllDocStreams registered with RBS is invalid

In my sharepont farm a web application configured with RBS and its working fine,
when users upload pdfs the no of files are increased in RBS file system folder,
but when i run Consistency check before running RBS maintainer for cleaning garbage dta for this web applications content database , i faced below issue , its saying

The GC of RBS maintainer just purges BLOBs in SQL Server. And FILESTREAM GC is needed to purge the files in file system.

Win 7 has given many people some 'issues'. There are postings to the forum
that point out you have to set your security so that it will allow
downloads from certain sites, and I seem to recall that these settings need
to recognize Adobe as a source and allow it through the firewall. Wish I
had the exact post, but I do not. But I'd bet a search on Windows 7 will
pull up some more information.

Register with BES server without Enterprise data plan

I read on this forum that there is a few ways to register with your company's BES even if you have the standard 29.99 data plan. The limitation is that you have to be connected to your company's lan, and perform the registration while on the lan.
In order to register remotely, you must purchase the 44.99 enterprise data plan, which I do not want to do.
Both verizon support and my helpdesk is telling me they can't do it, but I found instructions on this. Can it be done? Am I missing something?

To answer your question, it can not be done unless you have the BES plan added to your account, which is currently $44.99/month. If I read the article you mentioned in your post correctly, it states the following:
Note: BlackBerry smartphones cannot be activated over the wireless network or the organization's Wi-Fi® network if they have a data plan for BlackBerry Internet Service only.
I read that as if you have a Blackberry that is currently on a data plan (BIS), the regular individual data plan, you can not activate your device. Hope this helps,
