Forum Extension - Dreamweaver CS3

I am looking for a Forum extension for CS3.
The following would be ideal...
Originator of thread could choose to receive an email each time there is a new entry to their thread.
Each user to have to register before either originating a thread or posting a response to a thread.
Administrator able to delete posts if unacceptable content.
Administrator to be able to blacklist a given user.
System to email a password to a new user, but user able to update that password once logged in.
There seems to be 1 forum available in Adobe Exchange, but there seems to be little detail available, and little feedback posted other than potential buyers requesting more detail !
Can anyone suggest a forum extension that they have used and works well ?
Thanks.

DW does not have built in blog software. As for how to do
Blogger,
sign up for an account and give it a try, it's quite simple.

  • Php extensions in Dreamweaver CS3

    I have installed Dreamweaver CS3, I am now trying to run a
    simple PHP script (A 'Hello World') however when I try running the
    .php file my browser seems to timeout and the page does not run.
    When I run a standard HTML page on the same website it does work.
    I am using IIS 5.1 is there something else I need to set-up
    for php to work?

    Sounds like you have a problem with your PHP install (you do
    have it installed right?). Maybe take a look at this page for
    installing PHP:

    You may want to ask follow up questions in the App Dev forum
    as that forum is focused on the dynamic server side of Dreamweaver:

  • Cannot install extension in Dreamweaver CS3

    I just purchased an image gallery extension from the exchange. The instructions say that I need to run the extension manager to install it. When I do it I get an error message saying:
    "This extension cannot be installed, it requires Dreamweaver 7 or greater. To install the extension, please try to install Dreamweaver CS4 or use Adobe Extension Manager CS3 which works with Adobe CS3 and earlier products."
    I've tried to find Adobe Extension Manager CS3 but only can find CS4 which is already installed in my PC
    Thanks for your help
    George

    The cs3 extension manager is on your cs3 disk.
    You could also try right clicking on the extension manager in the start menu and selecting, 'run as administrator'.

  • Adobe AIR 1.5.2 Extension for Dreamweaver CS3

    I downloaded what I thought to be the updated version of Adobe AIR Extension for Dreamweaver CS3 for the new AIR 1.5.2 release, but it looks like the extension (Adobe_AIR_CS3.mxp) is still the 2008 version (exactly the same file size, and Dreamweaver overwrites the version number I manually input ("1.5.2") in the Adobe AIR configuration file with "1.5".
    Attention Dreamweaver and Adobe AIR teams: when will the extension be updated for AIR version 1.5.2?
    Thanks!

    Hum... did u set the Window to transparent???
    I don't use Flex, I use flash... here is my code...
    In AIR:
        //create the init options
        var options:NativeWindowInitOptions = new NativeWindowInitOptions();
        options.transparent = true; // set to transparent true
        options.systemChrome = NativeWindowSystemChrome.NONE;
        options.type = NativeWindowType.NORMAL;
        //create the window
        var newWindow:NativeWindow = new NativeWindow(options);
        newWindow.title = "A title";
        newWindow.width = 600;
        newWindow.height = 400;
        newWindow.stage.align = StageAlign.TOP_LEFT;
        newWindow.stage.scaleMode = StageScaleMode.NO_SCALE;
         // create html loader that will contain the SWF.
        var ld:HTMLLoader = new HTMLLoader();
        ld.width = newWindow.width;
        ld.height = newWindow.height;
        newWindow.stage.addChild(ld);
        //activate and show the new window
        newWindow.activate();
         // Load the html file... Case1.html
        ld.load(new URLRequest("Case1.html"));
    CASE 1.HTML CONTENT
    <html>
    <body>
    <embed src="Case1.swf" quality="high" bgcolor="#ffffff" width="550" wmode="transparent"
    height="400" name="Case1" align="middle" allowScriptAccess="sameDomain" allowFullScreen="false"
    type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.adobe.com/go/getflashplayer" />
    </body>
    </html>
    I see nothing... Any ideas??? do I need to update my flash plugin ?

  • Dreamweaver CS3 Extension for CFMX7

    I've just downloaded (and installed) CFMX7.02 and Dreamweaver
    CS3. The extension for Dreamweaver in /wwwroot/CFIDE/installers ...
    file name: CFMX7DreamWeaverExtensions.mxp says isn't compatible w/
    Dreamweaver CS3 when installed using the Extension Manager that
    came with the Dreamweaver CS3 installation.
    Any help on getting CF extensions for Dreamweaver CS3 would
    be appreciated.

    I believe that extension was for DW MX 2004, everything after
    that should have the server side CF stuff in it.

  • Paypal Extension for Dreamweaver CS3

    I am trying to get the free Paypal extension for Dreamweaver CS3 but can't find it anywhere. Web Assist currently only has the extension available for CS4 and above.
    I've searched Google but every link that says I can get the extension for CS3 just goes back to Web Assists page with the newer version which does not support CS3.
    Does anyone know where I could get the Paypal extension for Dreamweaver CS3?

    I don't know why you need an extension for this.  PayPal gives you the necessary code to use.  It's a simple matter of copy & paste.

  • Moved the "Connections" folder, now Dreamweaver CS3 can't find MySQL connection...

    Hi,
    Dreamweaver creates a "Connections" folder in the site root
    where all database connection files are stored. I want to move this
    folder to another path but then DW can't find the connection (for
    example in admin/includes/Connections).
    How can I tell DW the new path of the "Connections" folder so
    I can still use DW extensions to find all available database
    connections?
    Thanks!

  • Dreamweaver CS3 Stalling when opening html files

    Hello,
    I have Dreamweaver CS3 running Mac OS X 10.5.2 on a new Mac
    Pro, and have had no problems until now. All of a sudden,
    Dreamweaver hangs for between 5 and 10 minutes when opening various
    HTML files. Once the files are open, generally it's fine, without
    any delays or other problems.
    The files are email newsletters, with some of the images
    hosted on a remote server, and some hosted locally on my computer.
    The only difference I can think of is that I installed Fireworks
    and Contribute yesterday, but I don't know if this is related.
    Does anyone have any ideas what the problem could be, or if
    there is anything I can do to solve it?
    Many thanks in advance, D.

    I also work with Dreamweaver CS3 running Mac OS X 10.5.2 on a
    new Mac Pro
    and have had no end of grief... just need to glance at it and
    it will hang...
    Now I have read the following:
    http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=kb401608&sliceId=1
    with a last updated of 06-18-2007 (boy people work fast
    around here)
    Have tried all the suggestions listed there... and some
    more... even reinstalled Dreamweaver... removed all extensions...
    even shifted some of our files from the server to the local
    machine... still hangs... used IP nos in FTP addresses, Rosetta
    mode (that is ugly), removed splash screen, stopped images being
    viewed from Internet, reset config files etc etc
    I'm not really bleating at Adobe, as CS3 was out long before
    Leopard... or is it the Intel based Mac Pro? ...I really don't
    care... I just want a service pack from someone that will fix this
    nonsense. I have seen many forum threads from all over with people
    complaining about this issue.
    We also had a you-beaut Mac server installed for our local
    files (also running Leopard) and our PCs could not lock/unlock
    files (again people pleading for fixes from all around the world).
    Now this was a real pain when working in a team environment with
    Dreamweaver. Answer to this... install Tiger on the server and all
    came good again.
    The mess we have had with Leopard and Dreamweaver far
    outstrips Vista issues on PCs... on that note... also we run a new
    HP PC... CS3 products are running like a dream on that machine.
    Even an old PC P4 266 we have chugs (OK slowly) with all CS3 Design
    Premium.
    So back in 06-18-2007 Adobe admits there is a problem with
    the new Macs running Leopard and Dreamweaver... we even had our
    local Mac folk admit there are problems (that was like getting
    blood out of stone for that admittance)
    We have lost a tremendous amount of productive hours over
    these issues... can someone from Adobe please communicate with
    Mac/Apple over these issues... or is it a case of "it is not our
    problem, they need to come up with a solution..."

  • Dreamweaver CS3 Crashing Instantly

    MAC OSX 10.5 Leopard
    I am experiencing an incorrect behavior of Dreamweaver CS3
    instantly crashing. Here's when it happens.
    In Design View... no problems.
    In Code View... instant crash of DW CS3 when I attempt to
    click on any line that has either meta tags or recordset scripting.
    (if I click around parts of the body in code view, no crash).
    Since it's so specific as to what I do when it crashes, what
    do you think is wrong?

    *.ste is the extension that DW uses. BUT - if you have never
    EXPORTed the
    site defintions from within DW, you will not find any of
    these.
    Here is a post from Sonjay, which I found by searching this
    forum for "Mac
    site definition" -
    On the backup of the old drive, look in this directory:
    /Users/you/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Common/9/Sites
    And find the file named "Site Prefs"
    Copy that file into the same location on your new drive.
    The site definitions are defined in this file using from the
    name of your
    hard drive, e.g.,
    "MyHardDrive:Users:Myusername:SiteDirectoryName"
    If the name of your hard drive is different from the old one,
    you'll need to
    open that file in a text editor (NOT Dreamweaver -- something
    like TextMate
    or BBEdit) and do a global find-and-replace to replace the
    name of your old
    hard drive with the name of your new one in all the site
    definitions. Save
    and close.
    Relaunch Dreamweaver.
    You're done.

  • Dreamweaver CS3 Template

    I'm using Dreamweaver CS3. I use a template that I've always
    been able to make changes and automatically update the pages that
    use it on save. I've made some changes to the template, but when I
    go to update all the pages using that template it says:
    Done.
    files examined: 1183
    files updated: 0
    files which could not be updated: 0
    total time: (0:00:02)
    Nothing is updated. I have a large site to update and am in
    desperate need of help.
    Thanks!!

    Here are seven common mistakes that will result in changes
    not propagating
    from Template to child -
    1. Rename the Templates folder
    2. Move the Templates folder to some other folder level in
    the site other
    than root level
    3. Move a template out of the Templates folder.
    4. Make changes to an editable region of the template (which
    will not
    propagate)
    5. Assume that template changes can be uploaded to the server
    without also
    uploading the changed local files
    6. Corrupt the site cache so that the link between template
    and child page
    is broken
    7, Improperly create your child pages by simply opening the
    template,
    adding page specific content, and resaving the template with
    an *.html
    extension rather that its *.dwt extension. (you can tell if
    this is the case
    by looking at the code on a child page - if you see anything
    like <!--
    TemplateBeginEditable... then this is what you have done). If
    you *have
    done this*, then recreate the child pages (in DWCS3) using
    FILE | New > Page
    from Template, select the template and click CREATE.
    The 6th problem can be repaired by using SITE | Advanced >
    Recreate Site
    Cache, and the six others can be fixed by just not doing
    them. Have you
    done any of those?

  • Dreamweaver CS3 Flash Prof CS3 and the web

    I am a beginner web designer, but I have search for this
    answer for DAYS now! I have placed flash in a html file in
    Dreamweaver CS3. I have tried to get it to show up on the web to no
    avail. It plays fine in Dreamweaver, but doesn't show up in the
    preview (not even the dreaded white box). The white box shows up
    when I try to view the site online. I know the html file is there
    because the html graphics show up, but the flash media doesn't. I
    have double checked that both local and ftp directories match. I
    have uploaded the script file and the AC_RunActiveContent file to
    the server in the same directory as the local. I have tried
    uploading just the Scripts file, just the AC_RunActiveContent file,
    and both - to see whatever works! In my anguish I have also double
    checked my flash publish settings (played with them to see if that
    helped, and then reversed them back to step 1), made sure my images
    (flash and html) were there, and gone in and double checked the
    script source code in the html file to make sure it embeds the
    source, absolute. I am ready to pull my hair out or declare another
    occupation! Is this just CS3 craziness, or will the answer be
    revealed to me in a dream!

    Hi,
    I suggest posting this question in the "Dreamweaver General Discussion" forums, as it´s not related to the Dreamweaver Developer Toolbox
    (ADDT) extension.

  • Dreamweaver CS3 - Cannot create root and image folder in Site Management. (Create New Site)

    Good day everyone,
    I am not able to create folders for a new site in Dreamweaver CS3.
    This is the problem:
    I open Dreamweaver
    I go to site and click on create new site
    In the new site panel I name the site eg: Test Site
    Then I click on the browse folder to attached a root folder and image folder for the site
    This is where the problem starts, when I browse to the folders, Dreamweaver does not keep the location/path.
    Like this: My folder is created in the following directory.
    C:\xampp\htdocs\my_site_folder
    So when I browse to this folder and click save
    the path does not stay in Dreamweaver, all the stays is this.
    C:\xampp\htdocs\
    The site name does not remain.
    I cannot get Dreamweaver to hold the path.
    Same for the image folder.
    I noticed this started to happened after I updated Vista to Service pack 2.
    I have never seen this happen before.
    Anyone have any ideas?
    Thanks.
    Patrick

  • Dreamweaver CS3 and Windows 8 Issues

    I have Dreamwever CS3 and Windows 8 and I keep getting errors that can only be resolved by closing down DW and losing the work I have processed so far. I happens mostly when I use extentions such as Webassaist Data Bridge. I have visited their forum but they advised me to checkout you trouble shooting service.
    Please advise

    Hi,
    If Dreamweaver is working fine without the extensions, I am not sure if we should be troubleshooting Dreamweaver. Just to be sure, Windows 8 is not a supported version for Dreamweaver CS3. It could possibly work, but wouldn't have been tested on Windows 8 as Adobe supports only the previous two versions of any software.
    This is my best answer. You could wait for other experts for their opinion.

  • OSX - DREAMWEAVER CS3 SLOW

    Hi Forum,
    Dreamweaver Cs3 have very slow performance on my new mac.
    somebody know some
    solution?
    Thanks,
    COMAC

    I have the entire cs3 suite running on intel mac towers,
    powerpc mac towers, iMacs, and mac laptops... all work perfect and
    are very fast. If you are waiting 30 seconds to type something,
    there is something wrong with your individual setup.
    I would recommend disabling all of the dreamweaver extensions
    to determine if a poorly written extension is causing an issue. And
    yes, even one bad extension can cause dreamweaver to run like a dog
    on mac or pc.
    Second, I would make sure you are not using a remote server
    location as a testing server, or using a remote location to work on
    files, which will cause dreamweaver to communicate with the server
    every time you attempt to do something and drastically slow
    performance... on mac or pc.
    No resolution.... remove the entire suite / qpplication from
    your computer using the adobe installer software, restart computer.
    Using disk utility, do a drive check to ensure you have no
    catalogue issue, then repair permissions as well. Reinstall
    software. once complete, run disk utility again. Then check for
    updates. If you install any updates, run disk utility again. This
    is way overboard, but you are ensuring you have no potential issues
    for the next update.
    no resolution.... then you need to run a hardware test to
    ensure you don't have faulty RAM or other hardware. When restarting
    your computer, hold down the D key on the keyboard. This should
    launch the apple hardware check. You may also want to physically
    remove and re seat your RAM to make sure everything is working
    correctly.
    Bottomline, dreamweaver runs very well on OSX. If you're not
    experiencing that, then you need to determine what is wrong on your
    computer, your settings, your installation.
