Forum in Outlook Express

I would like to know how could I access this forum from
Outlook Express. Thanks.

Hi RB2005
You might click the Profile link up above and change your
profile. You may have forum messages delivered to your In-Box this
way.
Additionally, it's rather long in the tooth, but once upon a
time I put together a guide for these forums. You might be able to
glean something from it as well. You may visit a page where you can
download it by
clicking
here.

  • Can I see Labview discussion Forums in Outlook Express

    plz help
    Thanks in advance
    --sattu

Procedures vary depending on OE version, but here are the general instructions. If your computer is not too customized, you can go there directly, just click the following link
    -----newsgroups.ni.com -----.
    Manual instructions:
Open Outlook Express and go to "tools...accounts".
    Click [Add...] --> News...
and finish the wizard with relevenat entries:
Display Name: Your real name or an alias.
e-mail address: your e-mail address (or a fake, ending in .invalid if you want to keep it private or are worried it gets harvested).
    News server: newsgroups.ni.com
    Finish the wizard.
Now select newsgroups.ni.com and press "Newsgroups..." and subscribe to whatever you desire. You can also
"go to" any newsgroups without subscribing.

  • Is there any other forums like OutLook Express?

I like to use OutLook Express forums discussion very much, that can make me discuss everything without opening a new web site, is anybody tell me the News Group Address? Thanks a lot.

Since performance may be an issue when hitting BSEG table
Any of the below accounting tables can be used.
    1.BSAD
    2.BSAK
    3.BSAS
    4.BSID
    5.BSIK
    6.BSIS
These are normal database tables, not clusters. Normally every record from BSEG can be found in one of these 6 tables. The program which selects data
From these tables runs faster than from BSEG.
    Plz reward if helpful.
    Thanks.

  • OUtlook Express Forum Set up

    Hello All,
I used to use this forum via Outlook Express
(forums.macromedia.com) but now it doesn't work. Does anyone know
the new address I have to use in Outlook or if it is still
    possible?
    Thank,
    Todd

Outlook doesn't do newsgroups, but uses OE for that job. You
    have both.

  • Forums Address in Outlook Express

Is there any News Group or forums that can be used in Microsoft Outlook Express? it's just like the address: news.microsoft.com, using in Outlook Express, so we can read the news and discussions easily.

it is difficult to explain. All my received email is addressed to:undisclosed recipients and not to my name. I do have "undisclosed recipients" in my address book with my email address. I do this so I can send an email, putting all recipients in BCC not revealing their addresses. Evidently when I synced my computer email addresses to my Iphone, "undisclosed recipients" was picked up for my name. How do I correct this?

  • Outlook Express and This Forum

Sorry to take you out of topic. I am new to this forum and want to know, how to access this forum using my outlook express, as i use other discussion forums' like perl.porters-gw or php.db in outlook.

Sorry once again to take you out of topic question.

This would be nice to know

  • Clicking on an email address on a webpage, opens outlook express, but does not create a new mail, which it used to. annoying as it then means cutting & pasting the details

As I said above, clicking on an email address on a webpage, opens outlook express which is my default email client. In the past it used to also open a new mail, ready for me to type the message but now it does not. It works if I load internet explorer as the browser but does not in firefox. I prefer firefox, so can someone help me resolve this. Its so annoying to have to open a new mail then cut & paste the email details.

I posted this reply elsewhere in the support forum but I'll copy it here for you, as follows....
I had the same problem. Initially thought I needed a string (code) to run the "Create new e-mail" command for Outlook but I didn't. I did a few things that eventually made it work, but I don't know for certain which one it was so here goes.
1.) Go to Control Panel and click on Internet Properties. Go to the Programs tab and double-check that Outlook Express is your default e-mail client. (This is probably for IE).
    2. Close Outlook Express. Select the RUN command from the Start Menu and type the following: <msimn /reg>. Only type the info between the brackets. Click the OK button and wait about 5 seconds. Nothing will happen on screen but the information is being silently written to the registry.
    3. Open Outlook Express and go to the Tools Menu. Select Options. On the General tab, look down to the Default Messaging Programs. More than likely, the top option will say that "This application is NOT the default Mail handler" Click the button next to it that says "Make Default". This should trigger an available option in Firefox, below, if it was not already available.
    4. In Firefox, go to the Tools menu. Select Options. Click on Applications. Under the column, "Content Type" look for the mailto function. In the column Action, select "Use Outlook Express (default)" if it is not already selected. "(default)" must be part of the phrase. Somehow there is code behind this option that will bring up a new e-mail in Outlook that otherwise does not work if Outlook is selected manually. (To choose Outlook manually, you will indeed have to find the string code somewhere.)

  • Rescuing deleted emails from Outlook Express 5 for mac

    Dear Forum
Wasn't quite sure where to post this, but I would be grateful if anyone could cast some light on the following puzzle. I am trying to retrieve deleted emails from Microsoft Outlook Express 5 Macintosh edition (vers 5.02 2022) running on a G4. Using Data Recovery 2, I have uncovered two databases that hold the information, but I am unable to open them in Outlook or other programs. Is it something to do with 'End of file' as a friend suggested? I have tried importing them as my default database to no avail. When they were opened as raw text, there are definitely email addresses and parts of emails embedded in there, but nothing I can use. I desperately need to access these mails so that I can take an ex-client, who still owes me money, to court.
Any assistance would be most appreciated.
    Thanking you for your help.
    Kind regards
    Chilliman2

    Hi, chilliman2 -
There is one other option. You can use BBEdit Lite to open the message and database files. This utility will display all the text in most any file, including many damaged ones that otherwise can not be opened. BBEdit Lite is free -
    BBEdit Lite
Although the SFGet window, opened via the Open command in the File menu, will not display the OE files as openable files, they can be opened by dropping them onto the icon for BBEdit Lite (just confirmed that to make sure).
The bad news - you would need to search through the file to find the section for any specific email message, then copy that portion to another file for printing. This can take a lot of work if the file is large.
The good news - even the usually non-visible header info for each message is included in the Messages file, and is shown in BBEdit Lite.
Whether this result will be suitable for your purposes is a different issue.

  • Outlook Express 6 wants to re-download old E-mail

    Hello!.
I use Verizon DSL.  I use Outlook Express 6 at home to download my incoming e-mail.
I do not delete the mail after it is downloaded. I keep a copy of my incoming e-mail in my Verizon Webmail Inbox so that I can access it on the Web if I need to see it when I am away from home.  Until a few days ago, my Outlook Express would download only the new email messages.  This is what I did for years. However, after I changed my Outgoing Port Number to 587, Outlook Express now wants to download all the mail that is in the Webmail Inbox, not just the new mail.
I cannot determine what is wrong, or if changing the outgoing port to 587 is the cause. Not sure if I accidentally changed my settings or not.
    My account settings are:
    GENERAL tab
    name
    e-mail address
    SERVERS
    incoming mail is POP3
    incoming (POP3): incoming.verizon.net
    outgoing (smtp):  outgoing.verizon.net
My server requires authentication - is checked - Advanced: Use same settings as incoming mail server is checked.
    CONNECTION
the box stating "always connect to this account using___  is not checked.
    ADVANCED:
Server Port Numbers: Outgoing (smtp) 587.  Incoming (pop3) 110
Delivery:  Leave copy of messages on server is checked.   Remove from server after___ days - is not checked;  Remove from server when deleted from "Deleted Items"  - not checked.
I have my work e-mail account configured the same way (except for the name, email address) BUT I don't have the same problem.
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Microsoft recently sent out an update that incorrectly set the system date/time to 2008. Check to make sure your system date and time are correct, as this may be the cause of the issue. (Your client checks for new mail, and is seeing everything since 2008 as new.)

  • How I copied all my Outlook Express data to my new Black MacBook

    Hi there!
I just made the jump to the "Apple side" buying a shiny new Black Macbook, and having already got a lot of usefull information from this forum, I just wanted to give my little contribution...
Here follows how I managed to copy ALL my Microsoft Outlook Express messages, settings and accounts from my "old" PC to my new MacBook:
I just installed Mozilla Thunderbird on my PC and let the automated "import" function transfer all my data from Outlook Express; then I installed Thunderbird to the MacBook too (skipping all the setup procedures that start at the first run of the program).
Then, on the "PC side", I located the folder where all the Thunderbird profile data is stored: it is something like "xxxxxxxx.default" (in my case "voakmfhs.default") and is stored in "C:\Documents and Settings\Windows_User\Application Data\Thunderbird\Profiles"
So it was just a matter of copying all the "xxxxxxxx.default" folder from the PC to the Mac (on the "Mac side" just search for the "Thunderbird" folder and then open the "Profiles" subfolder where you have to copy all the stuff)
The last step is to edit the Thunderbird "profiles.ini" file on the Mac, replacing the name of default folder that was assigned during the installation (which you can safely delete), with the name of the one copied from the PC...
For any further question, feel free to ask
Hope this is of some help!
    Ciao for now
    Sergio

  • Exporting back up numbers from my Razor to Outlook Express

I used to have a Razor phone, I had them download the contacts from my Sim Card to my flash drive. I'm trying to capture all my phone contacts to Outlook Express, but when I try to import contacts to outlook express nothing happens. Is their a way to insert these contacts to my address book in Outlook Express.

The download of the SIM contacts done at AT&T is a proprietary format, in my understanding, is accessible with software that is Windows based. If you still have the Razr and the SIM, you can also use Motorola's phone tools software to read the contacts and then save them. It is done as an Access database, and I believe can be converted to a cvs file that can be transferred to Outlook Express. Outlook Express might even be able to read the Access database file.
There was a post earlier today that talks about some freeware to use to access the file as well. I'll try and find it again if you cannot find it searching the forum.

  • How to delete name in outlook express adress book?

How do I delete a name in the address book?

Outlook Express is a Microsoft product, I would recommend posting your question on the Office for Mac product forums hosted by Microsoft. You can begin locating them by clicking:

  • I cant find calendar in outlook express? i have outlook express 2004

i cant find calendar in outlook express? i have outlook express 2004

Isn't Outlook Express just the email client part of Internet Explorer? I think you need Outlook as supplied with MS Office to get calendar functionality. You really should be asking this question on a Microsoft forum where this could be answered instantly.

  • Corrupted Address Book in Outlook Express

My father's note running XP, has suddenly decided that the address book in outlook express (ie6)is corrupt and it must be re-installed. I have looked around the web and this seems to be a fairly common problem, however the correction of
this seems fairly complex, surely Microsoft must have come up with a quick fix to this problem, especially as it seems of their making, what with faulty updates and the complexity of outlook and outlook express.
Please does anyone have a simple resolution to this problem, that we both can understand.
Thanks in advance to all those that take the time to reply.

Try to recover it manually. Or re-install your OE. Open Outlook Express from where the application is stored on your computer, then attempt to duplicate the error or problem you were previously experiencing. If
you are still experiencing problems, proceed with the following steps to reinstall Internet Explorer.
    http://www.filerepairforum.com/forum/microsoft/microsoft-aa/outlook-express/616-emails-and-address-book-are-gone
Go to the "Microsoft Support" website provided to you in the Sources section of this article, then scroll down to the section entitled "Method 2: Reinstall Internet Explorer."
Click on the appropriate link for Internet Explorer based on the version of Windows you are running. For example, if you have a 32-bit Windows Vista computer, you will be required to
download Internet Explorer 8 for Windows Vista.
Click on the "Download" box after you have been redirected to the appropriate Microsoft webpage for your version of Internet Explorer. A dialog box will then appear prompting
you to proceed with the download.
Launch Outlook Express from its location on your computer and try to duplicate the actions that previously caused errors. Outlook Express should now work successfully without presenting
    any issues or errors.
