when i search a topic in the forum it is not working...i mean it doesn't give any result....could any one resolve my issue...its very urgent..........

hi,
You may be typing the wrong word for example.
i ma looking for select options and type SEELECT OPITONS
it will return zero values ..how ever if i correct SELECT OPTIONS
it will return me some threads..
its only the search strring that you are using matters... so do the search properly with a appropriate string.

Here are a few forums issues noted while reviewing the FAQ for the site.
1) "Using Forums Forums" eyebrow text (above) is awkwardly worded.
2) FAQ contains some
spurious and bad links, missing
icons,
duplicated text, numerous
typos, and some incorrect information.
3) Some images in the FAQ contain obsolete information, such as the "tags" feature shown
here.

As most of these things have not been fixed yet, I am replying so that this goes to the top of the list for a short amount of time.

Since the FAQ is now a WIKI, and everyone of the links that Graeme provided go to a page that says nothing more than:
"The Forums help file has been moved to the
Community Wiki. Please update any bookmarks you may have."
I am unsure what you mean by suggesting that these things have not been fixed.
If you can provide links to information that needs to be updated, we can fix that.
Better yet, since it's a wiki, YOU can fix errors or missing data!

RIch text forum issue since reinstall of OS

Ever since I reinstalled my system software (10.4.11), I have been unable to utilize rich text editor options available for forum posting. (not this forum - about.com is one of them). In Safari, the editor toolbar is non-existent when posting/editing a post, and my individual paragraphs display as one huge paragraphs rather than individual ones. I'm not having this problem in Firefox. In Firefox, the rich text editor appears (bold, italic, etc. buttons), as do options for "design" and "HTML"—all missing in Safari.
Previous to the reinstall, I was not having this issue in Safari. Paragraphs were created by hitting "return", not inserting html code.
I'm wondering if there is a setting, or plugin, that was present in my old system that did not get installed, which is contributing to why Safari has omitted these options as opposed to Firefox.

No I haven't tried another mouse, but the malfunctions started as soon as OSX 10.6.4 was installed, so I deduced that it was a software rather than a hardware issue. I will however try another mouse.

FORUM ISSUE? Threads say they are answered in the forum list

but when you open them, it says it is not answered. This is an example
[Exception Aggregation;

The thread is in "Assumed answered" state. Ian Waterman posed a question to the author (PokerKing) of the thread and never got a reply. So I assume that after some time a moderator set this to "Assumed answered". I do this on the CR .NET developer forums. If after 6 weeks +, there is no reply to our questions, I feel it is quite safe to assume the issue is either resolved or abandoned. Since there is no "Abandoned" state on the forums, "Assumed answered" is it.
New queries regarding the same issue should probably start with a new forum thread rather than asking PokerKing if he found an answer. More than likely, he will not answer as he abandoned his orginal thread in the 1st place.

Annoying Forum Issues

Hi,
I use the forums a lot from day to day. These are a couple of issues that make this frustrating:
* The login timeout is far too short. Sometimes while replying to a customer's message on the JDev forum, I'm simultaneously trying to reproduce the problem they reported, look up, or log bugs. Very often, by the time I hit the post message button, I've been logged out of the forums. When this happens, the forum inevitably becomes screwed up and I have to delete all my cookies to see any messages. The login timeout ought to be at least 30mins or longer. Security is all very well, but a 5 minute user logout (or whatever) is way over the top for an informative non-military-grade forum like the one on OTN.
* When I hit the "reply" link on messages I'm reading, and I'm not logged in, I get prompted to log in. After I log in, rather than opening the reply form, I get dumped back to the forums main page, and have to hunt for the post I was replying to again. Combined with the first issue, this is really irritating. I'm sure it used to work differently as well.

Signon and forum issues today

Hello everyone, is the forum having issues today. First the format was all messed up, now I have to use my second ID to sign on. My previous trick of restoring the cookies is no longer working. Here is my earlier post from about a week ago.

Forum Issue: Time stands still

JDeveloper behind proxy. Cannot update...
The post date is always the same: Aug 30, 2004 1:46 PM. Because of this, the post is not being displayed at the top of the forum listing at JDeveloper and ADF

Safari and browsing forums issues

This is a hard thing to describe, but here goes.
When I browse forums on the iPad (or iPhone) I will see a bunch of recent threads. I will find one interesting, click on it, and read. Then when I am done reading, I will press back to return to the list of threads. Now, all of the topics are a day or more old. Also, the thread I just read is no where to be found. It's like when I push back, it goes to a much older history than I'm asking for. Now the fix is simple, just refresh the page and I get the most recent threads. However, it is a little annoying and I wanted to see if anyone else has encountered this?

Thanks for your answer Barney-15E. It turned out that Comcast had set a proxy when they last serviced my cable modem and it was routing everything through port 8100.
For the benefit of others who may have the same problem. If you find a Comcast Proxy in your proxy settings looking something like this:
Address: actsvr.comcastonline.com
Port 8100
You can delete it. Found this response on another forum and it seemed to do the trick:
"This is a simple fix. You have a proxy checked (Comcast is famous for this) in your Internet Explorer. Go to Tools->Internet Options. Then, click on "Connections" and then "LAN Settings". Under "Proxy Server", it likely has the box checked. Mine said:
Address: actsvr.comcastonline.com
Port 8100
This, for me, was a clear Comcast hack that they probably did when when they installed new service. Just uncheck the box and clear out the "Address" and "Port". Then, click on "Ok"."

Forum Issue - Strange behavior in threaded display of threads

Just noticed on some threads there will be a notice of a number of replies but the actually number that I can see will be somewhat less - for example there are 17 replies noted for a thread but I'll only see 12.
I use Threaded view and if I change to FLAT view, I'll see all the threads.
Any one else noticing this discrepancy when using Threaded view?

Issue in dbms_metadata.set_transform_param , SQLTERMINATOR Property

I am using the dbms_metadata to get the DDL for all the objects in a particular schema.
DDL is retrieved without any issue, but the SQLTERMINATOR is not added in end of any DDL.
The property used is
dmsf := dbms_metadata.session_transform;

Please let me know on what should i change to fix this issue.

Problem with forum user name

I appear to have been 'bitten' with the user reset problem. My original id is now "nealeh-Y42Jq8" while my original "nealeh" now appears as a brand new user. I recall others having this problem in the past. How do you get it put right?

I noticed that, as was going to point you to the Forum Comments forum, where Adobe-Admin (John) would be able to help you, BUT the forum was so very wonky today, that it was taking me six log-ins, just to read the PrE forum.
It looks like you have the "real" Neale back, and I'm glad.
For the fix, just post to the Forum Comments forum, with your log-in details (sans PW). John will fix things for you.

PS - the UK was not the only area of Earth, that was smurfed by the Adobe Forum issues - the US was hit just as badly, and many experienced similar to you.

unluckily I think you misunderstood Michael original point.
Because some time passed, I too would like to report same issue again but let me explain and guide you (or others) how I too reached same sentence.
As of now even from your own 'Forums preferences' profile page you should be able to find on right side a
'Help' URL that leading to an intermediate page stating :
"The Frequently Asked Questions has Moved
The Forums help file has been moved to the
Community Wiki. Please update any bookmarks you may have."
Now a part from correcting that 'Help' URL once you or anyone reach 'Forums
Help (FAQ) - TechNet Articles - United States (English) - TechNet Wiki' you can find 'How
do I report issues with the Forums?' question, and then there's this other sentence :
"How do I report issues with the Forums?
You can report bugs, suggestions, and other issues for Forums, by performing one of the following actions:
Bug: If the issue seems like a bug in the forums code, go to the Bug Reporting Forum and report the bug
by using the template provided in the top forum thread.
But once anyone reach that Forum, now called 'Forums Issues (not product support)' there's no real forum bug reporting template in the top forum threads (as of now I only found 'Verify Your Account 15' and 'How to report
spam') and also to find this post thread I really had to search for "report a bug".

I keep trying to get MS to fix these forums

For the 4th time in a week MS has lost my email. These forums are getting worse and worse to deal with and posting in the forum that is supposed to about these problems is met with a deafening nothingness from MS!
Is there anyone monitoring this forum that can get to someone at MS that cares?
Or does anyone at MS care?

Forum lists are broken

It looks like forum lists are broken, i.e. the two buttons to the left of the "Font family" drop down menu.

It would seem that the bullet point formatting (numbers or text bullet points) are working, however are displayed depending what device or browser your using.
This would also be a Lithium issue and not a BT Retail forum issue as the forum is operated and built by Lithium. The Mods would probably need to raise a ticket with lithium for them to have a look at this
