Forum login

What is wrong with the forum login?
I click on the 'Login' link and it takes me to the new registration page. I try to register and it tells me I'm already registered, but there is nowhere else to login.
I've now completed the registration again using another ID and I'm logged in but will I be able to login tomorrow?

Additional to the above post, I can't log out either.
Both the links to 'Logout', on the top left and right apparently link to 'javascript.window.close()' which obviously just closes the browser window and leaves you with a blank browser.

    I'm not a fan of your new forum login/logout policy. While the login form has a "remember me" option, it does not appear to do anything. I still must login one or more times per day to participate in discussions.

    Make sure your Internet options looks something like this:
    If it isn't then change it and then try again.  If it is then post back for somebody else to suggest something else.
    You may wish to clear the cache (& coockies)  once to make sure there is nothing that is bugging your IE.
    Good luck.

  • Forum login problems

    I changed my forum login password, then could not log back in. I had to use forgot password to set a new password in order to log in. The next time I attempted to login, my new password would not work, and I was locked out of the system for some time for too many attempts to login.
    When I finally was able to attempt login again, my new password still would not work. So, I used forgot password again to set a new password, was immediately logged in, but after logging out, I could not log back in. This has repeated over and over. When you respond to this inquiry, I will most likely have to set a new password to log in and check your response.
    I was able to contact an HP representative by phone who referred me to an email address for forum issues. That email address is [email protected] - I hope it generates results.

    Hi John,
    Thanks for bringing this to our attention.  We'll have someone look at this issue and get back to you as soon as possible.
    Thanks,

  • About Forum login

    Hi supporter,
    I think it’s a problem for that we can’t change the original email address of my account in Oracle Forum. I’m just suggesting to some enhancement for this.
    Thanks & Regards,
    HuaMin Chen

    For instance, for that case in which our previous email has become invalid, and it's not so convenient if we should open another new account for login.

  • Forum login problem

    Why do I Have to login every tim I visit the forum? Is it just me? I have a slow internet connection and it's really a pain in the ass!

    Hi,
    I believe there is a time-out function. For instance, sometimes when I return to the forum I can press Login/Register and i'm logged in right away, other times, I have to return my details.
    Let me see if I can get specifics for you!

  • Forum login names messed up

    Just fyi in case anybody else is seeing this, something's gone wrong in an Adobe forum s/w update in the past couple of days that is messing with people's login name / account names, end result being that displayed user names in messages are either corrupted or jibberish or some variation thereof.
    There are also issues with carriage returns going wonky while entering msgs.
    Some workarounds (involving multi-step login/logout procedures) have been suggested in various threads on the Forum Comments section, here:
    http://forums.adobe.com/community/general/forum_comments
    although it doesn't sound like there's a single solution that works in all cases, at least not as of Nov. 18 a.m.

    Oh, and another reminder, in case you've been hit with the "logged out while posting" problem and thereby lost your carefully crafted missive that you just spend untold minutes composing.
    Although this happens with annoying frequency on the Adobe forums, it's not just Adobe that is afflicted by this problem.
    The good news is that there are a couple of addons for Firefox that will avoid losing "form" entries when composing in a browser. The one that I'm familiar with is Lazarus, from the same folks who created the brilliant InterClue add-on for Firefox, here:

  • Developer forums login still broken

    It might be that it's just been merged with apple communities? or this is just a developers thread about the forums rather than the developers forum itself?
    Anyway, I just tried to login to the developers forum, and it brings me always to this page: https://developer.apple.com/devforums/
    It doesn't say error, nor success, nothing. Just sits there. That's the link at the bottom of every apple page like this https://developer.apple.com/
    I'll post my question about safari viewport here, but I tried to login to the forums (before communities?) months ago and I'm surprised the few times a year I tried to access to apple support I ALWAYS have one or another problem. If you check my previous posts you can tell most of them are access problems.

    I unmarked the topic as question, because of the title is rather a "report".
    Michael Superczynski wrote:
    There's nothing wrong with either of those links you posted.
    Well, that's a very strong assumption.
    That says
    a) I'm the problem
    b) Your concept of "working" is too limited
    c) Its "intended behavior" is not intuitive (it does perfectly what nobody expects)
    d) suck it up. It works for me hehe. (i.e. "I don't care about others because it works for me")
    Or any other reason that calls at least for a "question" rather than such a strong assumption.
    Besides, I never said the second page had any error. I just said the link is featured there, where all the other links are, and I wasn't accessing an old url (in case the developers forum was moved here)
    The first link keeps appearing after I log-in. No redirection to the forum. I couldn't tell wether I've got successfully logged in or not, because this page keeps showing a "sign-in" button.
    After logging in twice and getting the same "log-in" page, do you think "there's nothing wrong with that page"?

  • Question about discussion forum login

    I don't know where else to post this, and I realize it is a dumb question, but here it is anyway.
    When I log onto the discussion forum, I get an error message. I am able to continue, by just clicking on the "discussion" link at the top of the page, so it is not a major problem, but I'm curious why for the last month and a half I've been receiving this error message every time I sign on.
    Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.
    Russell

    Hi Russel, Welcome to Apple's Users Help Users Forums.
    Yep, I get that too. After I login I go to my Bookmarks where I have 5 forums and then, at the bottom, I "open in tabs." They all come up logged in. :~) So use bookmark or history to go straight to where you want.

  • Forum login not valid in some areas of forum ?

    Some problem with forum:   I logged in to discussion forum, made a search with key word "SIP" , found this link:
    http://www.forum.nokia.com/Technology_Topics/Mobile_Technologies/VoIP/Nokia_VoIP_Framework/VoIP_supp...
    wanted to give feedback and pressed "here" button    ------>  Login Screen again and username not valid   ---  how come ?

    No cookie problem, a lot of cookies including Nokia forum stored here.   Please check if that works for you:   Open the link
    above and go down the page, you will see "You can provide feedback about content on this page here".   Click that " here" link
    you see in greenand tell me what happens for you.    For me it will ask again to login  and my userid / password which is sure
    valid for Forum (because I am writing here)  does not work.      ----> Problem with forum administration.
    PS.  That authentication bug at that link of forum is not any critical problem for me ----- just wanted to comment it.  Could be
    fixed whenever some admin has time to look at it...     I use Ubuntu Linux, version 9.10 "Karmic Koala" &  Firefox v3.5.7.
    My background is IT pro.

  • Forum login and reading

    I'm using HTTPClient (not apache/jakarta one) to login to a forum in order to read a page available to members only... The login process is successful but when I instruct the program to read the desired page, I only get a 'you must be logged in' error page. What am I doing wrong?? I accepted the cookie, but should I do something with it??
    I've found some similar topics, but none of them seemed to help... If you have any idea on this, please do answer me...
    Here's what I've done:
    ===================================
    URI doc_uri,form_uri;
    HTTPConnection con;
    try {
    doc_uri = new URI("http://www.something.net/forum/");
    form_uri = new URI(doc_uri,"misc.php?action=login");
    con = new HTTPConnection(form_uri);
    // create the NVPair's for the form data to be submitted
    NVPair[] form_data =
    new NVPair[] {
    new NVPair("username", "somename"),
    new NVPair("password", "somepass"),
    new NVPair("hide", "1"),
    new NVPair("secure", "yes"),
    new NVPair("loginsubmit","Login")
    // POST the form data, as indicated by the method attribute
    System.out.println(form_uri);
    HTTPResponse rsp = con.Post(form_uri.getPathAndQuery(), form_data);
    } catch (ParseException ex) {
    ex.printStackTrace();
    }catch (ProtocolNotSuppException ex) {
    ex.printStackTrace();
    }catch (java.io.IOException ex) {
    ex.printStackTrace();
    }catch (ModuleException ex) {
    ex.printStackTrace();
    read();
    ======================================
    read() opens a DataInputstream on URLConnection and does standard reading... My mistake is probably there... How should I maintain my login and read the protected page??
    Thanks a million.

    Additional to the above post, I can't log out either.
    Both the links to 'Logout', on the top left and right apparently link to 'javascript.window.close()' which obviously just closes the browser window and leaves you with a blank browser.

  • Another user with login problems to forums

    I didn't want to jump into either of these threads with "me too and..."
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=366881&tstart=0
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=366684&tstart=0
    but me too and...
    Whenever I come directly to the discussion boards by typing in discussions.apple.com in Safari (1.3.2) address bar OR typing support.apple.com and then clicking the discussions link (in the purple bar) I'm greeted as guest. I click login and Safari helpfully fills in the details then several things happen (no pattern found yet).
    1. I'm prompted for my login again and told the user name or password was wrong. It will then accept the next autofill by Safari. Forums function normally.
    2. It greets me "Welcome Marlinespike" in the sidebar and prompts me to login again. Clicking any other link (e.g. My Questions, or iTunes) takes me to the forums and I'm not prompted again. Forums function normally.
    3. It greets me "Welcome Marlinespike" in the sidebar and says "you only have read (or was it guest?) privileges and presents me with a page to create an account. Ditto 2 in that I can click anywhere and bypass the "please make an account".
    The problem occurs every time I navigate to the forums home. If I leave SAfari running but close all windows, it'll happen.
    I don't know if this is related to recently getting Safari 1.3.2. My Safari was 1.2 until last week. This login issue has only started for me in the past week. Also, I can click a link in the forums and will get a 404 not found error, but if I refresh the page (CMD-R), I get it.

    FYI, since downgrading my OS back to X.3.8 and Safari to 1.2 I've not had any login difficulties yesterday or today. Also have not had any threads "not found" to be found upon refreshing. Perhaps there's some weird java thing going on with the forum logins that affects SAfari 1.3?

  • Login Oddity at New Forum

    Found an oddity with using two computers... home and work
    Logged in last night at home... software welcomes me BOTH at the very top left, just my name, AND just below the white letters on a black rectangle... with my avatar and name
    Came to the forum this morning at work... said "Welcome John T Smith" at the very top left
    My avatar and name did NOT show below the black rectangle, and I was not able to post a message
    I went to the login page... and now I show in both places and may post
    I will bet I won't be fully logged in when I get home
    There seems to be a process in the login/cookie that only allows ONE active login

    Ok... top and forum login being either different or not synchronized is exactly my point
    I'll check when I get home to see which of the two is still working on my home computer
    IF it is as I described here, that means that every time I start my "other" computer I'm going to have to login to the forum... and doing that will break the login on the other computer
    Oh well... one more thing about the new software

  • Can't access my Username and forum info

    I have been using the same username for some years. I have logged into the forums using a certain email address and password. Over the years, i have had other Apple IDs, different ones for iTunes store, a different one for Mobile Me now. A different one for that disk thing that i haven't used yet.
    Two days ago i got an iPhone. Yesterday, I wanted to do a sync and i used the user name and password that i have written down for the ITunes store. This is different from my Discussion Forums login.
    Today, i needed to try to get some info on the forums and i decided to update my info to include the iPhone. For the first time ever, the forum would not let me log in with the login info i've always used. It told me it could send me an email to reset my password, so i did that, but the email it sent the password to is not the email that was my login email. Now, when i log in, it gives me a different user name or nickname than i had before, and it uses the different email address, and i have a point count of zero, whereas i previously had around 500+ (i had lost others when the forums went through a big format change around 2005). How can i get my user name and point count back? All my computer info was blank. It's like i'm a new user. I want my old account. The user name i had before was Judy444. Thanks

    Hi Judy or Judy444!
    Delete the browser's Apple Cookies, and clear the browser Cache.
    On the Discussions Sign In Page, do not enter any info in the text fields.
    Instead, under "Did you forget your password?", click on "Click here for assistance".
    On the page that opens, click on "Forget your Apple ID?".
    Enter the required info, and click Continue.
    When you have completed the process see if you can once again log in with the Judy444 ID.

  • Problem in Forum Password

    Sir / Mam
    My user name: [email protected]
    In your Forums login. I could not login using my password. It displays as for the first time
    "There has been a technical problem. Please contact the webmaster or try again."
    On the next attempt it displays as invalid user id / password. Please help me. Expecting your earliest reply.
    Yours Truly,
    Rengaraj.R

    I have had this a few times recently. Me too. Bloody annoying. I didn't even bother reporting it. What's the point? Somehow, "Your login page is broken," will get babelfished to, "Please add some more useless whiz-bang bells and whistles while ignoring all the broken functionality and poor usability issues."

  • Login exception when attempting to login to amconsole or portal

    Has anyone come across this before? When attempting to login to the amconsole or the portal, using known good credentials, from a browser not running on the server itself I get the below error. Make a shortcut in your browser (on the phone)  to https://vzwsupport.jive-mobile.com/ # jive-home (no spaces) to get to the mobile version of the support forum.  Try logging in there.
    I hadn't  tried accessing the forum via the MyVerizon app... but it takes me to the above link, and my forum login works (I use a separate login that is not tied to my account login).  Are you using your forum username/pass, or your MyVerizon username/pass?
