  • How to get SYSDATE in the header section dynamically when we run the report

I have one more issue may i know how can i get the sysdate in the header section when i run the report.
as we have the requirement like this
    In the header section
    Run Date : ("sysdate").
How to get the sysdate dynamically in the RTF template, when i go across the google i found that header and footer section did not allow form fiields .
So is there any way to do it.
    Thanks in Advance.
    Have a Nice Day.

You cannot insert form fields in the Header section, but you can just insert the code to achieve this. For example: insert this in the header section to view the sysdate: You could format the date as you would like..
    <?xdoxslt: sysdate(‘YYYY-MM-DD’)?>
Since you are new to BI publisher, search the forum, review the Report Designer's guide for BI publisher. You will find that most of your basic questions are answered there and there are examples as well.

  • Double Display Question/Confrimation

So i am desiring to hook up my Macbook to 2 displays, use my macbook in a closed position with the monitors being used as separate screens. After reading forums, reviews, and a bunch of information here is my plan and i am hoping someone here can confirm/disprove or improve my ideas.
My plan is to use a Matrox DualHead2Go DP edition to connect to my Macbook via a Displayport/mini Displayport connecter cord. I realize this DualHead2Go product is compatible with Macbook pro only but since i have a NVIDIA GeForce 9400M card and it says its compatiable with 9400M and 9600M cards i believe it should work, tell me if im wrong
    Link: http://www.matrox.com/graphics/en/products/gxm/dh2go/
Then im going to purchase 2 24" Apple Monitors and use a mini displayport/displayport cord to connect these 2 monitors to the adaptar stated above, and i should be able to see the images i believe.
    Link: http://estore.circuitassembly.com/products/Mini-Displayport-Female-to-Displaypor t-Male-Adapter-Cable.html
The only problem i see is that it looks like both monitors and the adaptar will require a USB port so i believe i will need to purchase a USB hub or something to that effect.
Please respond and help me/ explain why i am wrong or right
I'm unsure if this is the simplest way, and if there is a better way i would love to know
    Thanks for the help

After looking at the Matrox website it appears that they CLAIM to support the MacBook Air so I don't know why it wouldn't work on the new 13" MacBook Pro (it should even work on the previous generation 13" unibody MacBook since all three of these systems have nothing more than the 9400M graphics).
Frankly, however, I suspect that you'll be taking some chance that this setup won't work as seamlessly or as well as Matrox would like you to believe. The principal problem would likely be software support since I'm pretty certain that without a custom driver and/or a custom Displays setting panel you won't be able to select the 3840x1200 output that would be required to drive two 24" Apple displays (2 x 1920) x 1200. Thus, you're going to be relying nearly 100% on some Mac OS X software extensions from Matrox.
The USB port issue shouldn't be a problem because as you suggest you could always use a powered USB hub to satisfy the twin USB port requirement. I think you will also need a male-to-male Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort cable to run between the MacBook's Mini DisplayPort output to the input on the Matrox adapter. If you don't have the latter then you will need to combine a Mini DisplayPort cable with the female-to-male adapter you linked to over on estore. Then you'll need two of the female-to-male adapters to connect from the outputs on the Matrox adapter to the captive male Mini DisportPort cables on the Apple displays.
With all of these cables (USB and DisplayPort) it's not going to be pretty, but if you decide to go this route then please give us an update on how it works.
Supposedly, a future version of DisplayPort will allow you to daisy-chain displays off of the same output port but whether Apple will support this is unknown. It will most likely require support in the graphics driver (software) and there may even be limitations in the current hardware that would prevent such a display daisy-chain from working. It would be cool, however, if Apple did/could add this as a native feature of their DisportPort implementation (but it will probably require new graphics hardware).

  • Color Management problems

    Hello to all!
I have bought a new monitor lately, a Dell Ultrasharp U2410 and my very pleased with it but I have encountered some problems, mostly with sRGB and AbobeRGB color spaces.
I have calibrated my monitor correctly with Spyder3Elite (5800 - 120 - 2.2) and I'm using Europe Prepress 3 color profile in Photoshop and Illustrator as I am a graphic designer and I mostly work in CMYK color spaces.
This means that I use AbodeRGB and Coated Fogra 39 in the programs.
I begun having problems with RGB color space when I realised differences in images I was trying to export from Photoshop and Illustrator for Internet use ("save for web" menu) both in Firefox Broswer which I have calibrated too ("about:config" menu).
And I will give you and example:
I am using the  "Color Index 2" book very often for easily finding color tones both in RGB and CMYK. I have use it for finding and matching the colors for my id and website.
So I have selected a blue color tone #00adef which according to the book and my monitor is R:0 G:173 B:239. This is actually Cyan 100% accoriding to the book (my monitor reads 90% but no big deal there).
When I see the color tone though AdobeRGB color space in Photoshop and Illustrator, it looks very close to the book. When I see it though sRGB the difference is huge!
And let's say that this quite normal as AdobeRGB is a lot wider color space compairing to sRGB. And let's say that I have to get used to it as I use a wide gamut monitor now.
The real problem is this: No matter how I export my files for web ("save for web" menu) both in AdobeRGB, by checking Embeded ICC, and in sRGB, when I use "Print Screen" to take a color sample, the color values change!
    So to sum up:
    1. I know that it's different to have a wide gamut monitor but how "normal" is to see such huge difference in RGB color spaces?
    2. If browser color management if OFF and I use AbobeRGB color space, everything looks the same. If browser color management is ON no matter if I USE AbobeRGB or sRGB I have problems (color differences + "print screen" inaccurate color tones).
Can anyone tell me what I do wrong here, if I should or should not do something to fix all this because guess what, if I can't fix the problem with my own color palletes for my site and id, I can't work correctly either. Help!
I have alredy read lots or forums, reviews etc about color management but I am still confused about where I am doing it wrong.
Thanks for reading this and I hope that someone will have an answer help...

when I use "Print Screen" to take a color sample, the color values change!
windows Print Screen (screenshot on Mac) I believe is based on the monitor profile, the Mac embeds the monitor profile in its screenshots
i may suggest that you get a handle on how colormanaged apps apply the source profile and Convert (or transform) the colors to the Monitor or Print profile
whereas unmanaged apps (for practical purposes) send the RGB numbers straight through to the monitor unaltered
moreover, some windows apps that claim to be color managed only transform (or Convert) the color to sRGB (they are not fully color managed like Photoshop, Photoshop converts to the monitor profile)
all this is pretty easy to observe (especially on a wide gamut monitor) if you apply the basic theory...

  • Terrible warranty service

So, I am a long time customer of Lenovo, having bought several of their laptops for personal and business use for many years. Usually I have been happy, but Lenovo's warranty service seems to have taken a huge turn for the worse. Recently my ideapad U series broke; a hardware malfunction where the mouse trackpad no longer works. This happened at around 11 months into the purchase, so the 12-year basic arranty should have covered it, right? Not so. I sent my laptop back, but the answer I got from 3 different Lenovo technicians is that the mouse is cosmetic only. **bleep**? How is an issue where the mousepad hardware doesn't work cosmetic? Mouse functionality is pretty important on a Windows machine... After several weeks, I ended up just buying a new laptop...NOT from Lenovo. I'm really disappointed in Lenovo, and they just lost a long-time repeat customer due to a minor issue for something that CLEARLY was covered by the warranty that they refused to fix anyway. Why even have a warranty if you don't honor it at all?

We met the same problem: terrible warranty service!
In August 9, 2013, me and my mother bought two Lenovo desktops C440. One desktop is working without troubles, but another one beaked month before the end of warranty. In July 2014  ripples appeared on the computer screen. At first they appeared sporadically, then became regular. So it became impossible to use the desktop. Faulty computer was put to an authorized service center in St. Petersburg “LLC MicRoBiT-NC” on July 14, 2014. In the service center computer was tested to failure, however, the defect was not found.
The day before the end of the warranty period we took the computer from the service center. Master of the service center advised me to capture the possible manifestations of the defect. Already on August 10, the defect has reappeared and then became, as before, to manifest more and more. Now the desktop screen is constantly in ripples. Meanwhile, the warranty was over and we asked Russian Lenovo office for the help. The answer shocked us. Lenovo representative explained to me on the phone that all risks of relationships with service centers lay on the buyer. And if one service center did not reveal the problem, we must apply to another service, pay to them (because warranty is over) and then, if the problem will be explained, file a claim to the first service center. However, said representative, Lenovo does not guarantee that another service center will set the source of the problem and the time when the damage occurred (during the warranty period or later). He also told me that we made a mistake have signed the certificate of the executed works, but without this signature, we could not return the computer.
As interviewed experts (independent computers repairers) suggest, the problem is that Russian Lenovo does not worry for how competent service centers are and whether they provided with all the necessary diagnostic equipment. So service centers are often very little firms and do not have the necessary tools to diagnose the failure. Russian forums are full of complaints on service centers that do not reveal problems, but require money for diagnostics. The customer cannot be sure that the service center will identify the problem, because even if the center lacks the equipment and qualified expertise, the customer will never know about it. It will be noted by the service that the problem is not identified, or that it cannot be solved. However, Lenovo does not bother with this. The authorized Lenovo service center LLC MicRoBiT-NC, we applied to, has bad reputation according to forums reviews, and another authorized services in St. Petersburg are of the same reputation. Lenovo continues to cooperate with them, not paying attention to customers dissatisfaction.
I asked Lenovo Company to help me  to overcome the indifference of the Russian office to my concerns, and ф certain Anthony Garcia mockingly send me to my oppressors instead of giving the address of the responsible persons in the Lenovo company (ref:_00D30V2Wu._50014lvR7v:ref)

  • K7N2 D-ILSR over Abit's NF7-S? Convince me!

Okay, the title pretty well sums it up. My heart's been set on the Delta-ILSR for the last several months but now that the time's come for me to buy I've had to stop & reconsider. I've been going thru forums & reviews left & right the last few days and I'm a bit disappointed in what I'm hearing about the MSI board & MSI's lack of support. After reading all 23 pages of the video card fiasco it seems that MSI's finally headed in the right direction.
    Here are my component choices:
    Barton 2500
    2 x 256 PC2700 Crucial
I plan on using my ATI Radeon 7200 for awhile (I'm not much of a gamer, right now, at least.)
    Here are my concerns:
    1) I don't much care for the lack of being able to disable SATA RAID but I don't know how much of pain this actually is. Chances are that I'll never actually need RAID. This system will start out as a PC & within the next few months or so will double as a server for a small home network.
    2) I've heard a few people who work for companies building systems say that the K7N2 Delta-ILSR has had a fairly high return rate, (one person said about 50%). Some were RAM related, (which I don't think will be a problem with my RAM choice), and some wouldn't boot or had other problems.
    3) I've heard that the Abit NF7-S's sound has a crackling sound, how is the Delta's sound?
    4) I have no plans to overclock, (I've never done it before, although I'd like to try it sometime to see if it's worth it all.), but I like the fact that the NF7-S can do so right outta the box. I thought MSI was known for this.
So, here I am, stuck in between a rock & a hard place.   I've always thought highly of MSI & I've had my heart set on this purdy lil red mobo running circles around my PC Crypts, uh... Chips, 810 LMR with a 750 Duron. But, the Abit board seems to have less complaints & supposedly is equal to the Delta in "real-world" tests.
Can those of you with personal experience convince me to go on & get the MSI?
Thanks for your time & help on this matter. It's very much appreciated!

I didn't think so either but figured I'd ask. Heh, I'm the type of guy that digs all the way to the back of the shelf to get a box of whatever that hasn't been opened & then inspect it to make sure it's not been re-packaged, usually opening it right there before I buy it to make sure everything's there. Well, actually, I do. I've been a member of a tech forum for just over a year now where I try to help out with what lil bit I do know when I have the time. There's 4 members there supporting the NF7-S from personal experience but I've told 'em from the get-go that I was MSI biased but was still trying to have an open mind before opening my wallet.
I really do appreciate ya'll takin' your time to help me make the decision that's right for me. You guys have got some class. Ya'll didn't start any flame wars or "MSI is better just because it is.". I've been here in front of this screen for 'bout 5 hrs now so I'm gonna take a break for awhile & I'll post my decision a little later on.
Once again, thanks a bunch! I hope I didn't leave anyone out while replying, if so, I'm sorry.

  • Seagate Barracuda 500g and Quad---will it work?

I just purchased a seagate drive, model number 9BD648-557 to use in a Quad machine. Then, after some searches here, I read that this drive has to have ssc disable via a windows machine (which I don't have). Then I read (via google), if the suffix is not -301, it will work with a Quad. Since the suffix is -557, I am presuming that this should work once it is installed. Has anyone had any experience with this particular model? I don't want to open the box until I am sure it will work so I can return it if it won't (although MicroCenter is pretty decent with returns). I do prefer to return it unopened if I can. Thanks for any suggestions.

If you have recently bought Seagate SATA 500GB drive using those in RAID, you probably want to update the firmware.

  • 64bit vs 32bit

I am getting a bit confused here. I installed the upgrade to Aperture 3 onto my OS 10.5.8 MBP. I have yet to use it but reading up on features etc and reading forums/reviews people are all saying that it is a 64 bit program but for using current plugins the user has to manually select 32 bit mode in Aperture.
Surely in OS 10.5.8 Aperture would automatically be 32 bit because 64bit capability is part of Snow Leopard but not of plain Leopard? Or do I have to manually select 32 bit mode so I can use my Topaz and Nik plugins even though I am using the older OS?

I figured that that had to be the case but everyone seemed to be adamant that it is 64 bit by default in every case and I was starting to question my logic.
Thank you for bringing sanity back

    Hey all,
This thread can be used to introduce yourself to the community. Just say hello or maybe even add a little bit about yourself. I'm the community manager here at CrowdSupport so should you have any suggestion or need anything, don't hesitate to give me a shout!

    Hi Everybody!
I'll start the introduction ball rolling with an introduction of myself: my Earth name is Dylan, and this the first time I've ever used the word "introduction" so many times in a sentence. I have been sent here from my home planet to help you use these forums in the most efficient and effective way possible. I am well versed in a number of languages including English, and some others that I can assure you aren't made up. I have been working at Telstra for nearly four years now, helping customers via phones, email and live chat before a year ago joining our Social Media team and talking to you via Twitter, Facebook and Whirlpool where I have learnt all sorts of new acronyms.
My job here will be to moderate the forums, review flagged posts, and occasionally to step in and join the conversation every now and then when it is needed. I'll do my best to help in any way that I can. But that's boring* so let's talk about me.
I love a good game, and spend most of my spare time attached to my PS3 playing NBA 2K11, and have been playing the GTAs ever since the very first overhead view one. I'm still plugging away with an iPhone 3GS that is starting to get a bit long in the tooth, but is still probably the best mobile phone I've ever used. I have been a Port Adelaide since before I can remember (or at least I'm told that). I look forward to seeing you on the forums, although if I have to delete something you've said then I obviously won't be looking quite as forward to that. I really thought you were above that <shakes head>.
    See ya round!

  • N670GTX PE 2GD5/OC Overclocking

    Hi,
I just got this new card and am very impressed with it.
Has anyone tried overclocking it yet? If so what are you getting and what values, including voltages, are you using in MSI Afteburner?

Quote from: flobelix on 03-August-12, 04:25:03
First of all N670GTX PE is a Power Edition. Those are equipped with Twin Frozr IV and have a custom high quality board. However Power Editions are not unlocked like Hawk and Lightning. MSI also does not promise that. I can't find an MSI statement saying you can overvolt more than with a standard GTX 670 gpu (due to nvidia's restrictions).
What they say is you can use Triple Overvoltage. Means you can not only adjust the voltage of GPU but memory and PLL. Triple overvoltage can be done with Afterburner 2.2.3 that you can get >>here<<.
Also stop bashing MSI with terms like scam as that won't be tolerated.
Back to you thegilpins: Here's a forum review with oc results of the GTX670 Power Edition 2GD5/OC: https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=160505.0
The term overvoltage would indicate that you should be able to go higher than the factory setting. I'm asking why this card doesn't do what was indicated it would be able to do.
The statement you are looking for is right on the box itself.
Edit: I'm not trying to bash MSI, I always buy their cards when it comes to graphic cards.

  • GTX560 TI 1GB Twin Frozr II OC runs hot with Furmark

    Hi everyone,
I have this card now for a 5 days, runs fine within game (Far Cry 2) , all maxed out, temp 55-60c.
Did some test (kombuster and Heaven dx11) but when i tried furmark latest version(benchmark preset 1080) the temp reach 95c.
Is this normal? fans from card are spinning, fanspeed settings are on auto.
Case is well ventilated(Lancool case with 5 fans),zallman 650 watt psu, drivers 280.26, clock, mem, shaders are all standard.
Shall i bring it back to the store ans ask for a replacement, i dont like that high temps or is furmark only?
What is your advice to do in this case?

    @Lamzor
New card with Kombuster burn in test: with case closed the temperature is stable 85c with 100% fanspeed (#20c ambient)
Haven't tried with case open but i asume i would be less, but my case is well ventilated.
Old card: with Furmark the temps where higher, i used the short "benchmark preset:1080" and the temp with open case reach above 94c in a very short time, looks like Furmark is more agressive.
One important thing with this card is the airflow in your case, my old gtx260-216 blows all the hot air out of the case at the back, this one blows all the hot air in the case and so using his own warm air to cooling the card, so take care for enough cold air from outside before using this card with a closed case, i have 2x14cm fans in the front and 2x14cm fans at the top and 1x14cm at the back.
I think this (and all simulair cards) wont work properly in a normal ventilated case with 1 or 2 fans.
When i returned the card to the shop and after a short test they said to me "its normal" for cards like this, just dont use Furmark and for a example they showed me the results of a GTX580 which reach the same high temps.
I said ok, i know the GTX580 and also those high temps that it can reach but now take the same card as i have and do the tests with that one.
Next day they called me and must conferm that the new card showed lower temps and send the old one for warrenty back to MSI.
I tell you this becouse @Daloona told me the the same and he is a "MSIHQ Red Rockets Team Member" on this forum, i'v read several forums, reviews and benchmarks and could hardly find results as mine but there alot of other cards that can reach those temps and its normal in that case.
Quote from: DaLoona on 11-September-11, 21:45:02
If I run Furmark, on stock clocks of 700/1400/3384MHz on my GTX470 (see signature), even that card with its triple fans will do 92°C easily, its just a very hefty stress program for gpu's, kombustor is a lot lighter, dont ask me why, probably has something to do with the way it stresses the gpu.
Monitor temps in all the games you do, I'll bet it never reaches 95°C  , as long as they stay at or under 85°C, all is fine, gpu's run much hotter then cpu's.
The fact that others with similar cards are getting lower temps probably has to do with better ventilation of the setup, for benching people always make sure things are well cooled, to avoid premature failure.
So its easy to make that mistake in judging the temps, so make sure to compare against the very same card.

    Hi Althea,
    Happy New Year to everyone.
At the moment the poster doesn't get a message automatically. Once a moderator has looked at it and rejected the post, there is a possibility of an email being sent. We are looking into that.
It is true, we have to explain a bit more about the functionality of the Report Abuse feature.
    Will do so soon, Mark.

  • Administrator please remove non CS review topics from this forum

Feature requests, technical solutions etc would be much more clear if all of the unrelated topics were moved to their appropriate forums.
As long as people see posts about photoshop, indesign, etc. in this forum, they will continue to be confused and post non CS review topics here.
    Thanks!

    Hi,
I think I found out what's going on here. Someone with Admin privileges  (but without my permission) reset the Premiere Pro Overview page, blowing away all the info in the pods. Then someone else with access - or maybe the same person - (again without asking my permission) went ahead and tried to "fix" it by copy/pasting data from the Hardware page. Hence, all these issues.
I will find out who has the permissions with access to changing the Overview page, and will ask them not to do that. It is unacceptable that no one PM'd me telling me what they did.
I am on vacation this week so please be patient as I try to restore the former page to its former glory when I get back. Great….
    Thanks,
    Kevin

  • Review my Logic mix forum?

I'm a fairly new user to Logic Pro X but moving along nicely and am developing my engineering ears as I build up my Logic chops. Is there a forum that will offer suggestions to uploaded mixes from an audio engineering perspective? It would be especially helpful if it was Logic oriented so that I could more easily affect the suggestions into my mix using these tools.
I would gladly pay for this (no, I don't want to go back to a 2 year "college") but obviously if there is an informal and free forum, all the better.
    thanks mates...
