I Just signed in to find the answer to this too. I started having the same trouble today.

Search forums doesn't work for me

... I wanted to see if anybody else has this problem -- but umm... I can't search it.
This is the error I get:
An unexpected error has occurred
This functionality has been disabled by your administrator.

For me, the fora were really slowing down as of about 8:00PM AZT Sept 03, and were totally down as of 6:30AM AZT Sept 04. By about 8:30AM AZT, they had come back up and have been going strong until about 7:30PM. Now, they appear to be slowing down again.
Have not used Search much today, Sept 04, but it worked for me about 3:00PM. Of course, "worked" is open for debate, but that is for another topic.
I assume that maintenance took longer than expected, or got more involved, than expected.
Here's hoping that this evening's slowdown is not a sign of another problem.

I am trying to get my grandfather registered on this forum - if he has a My Verizon registration with his cellphone number, is he already automatically a member of these support forums?

Engaged Version: "+" sign not working for label

I found a problem that most of my old files in Professional Version is no longer working in the Engaged Version.
Whenever there is a cell using the "+" sign to refer to another label, the system returns zero instead of the correct label.
          For example, cell A1="Name", cell B1=+A1 and it should display "Name".
          In Professional Version, a Display Grid of cell B1 displays "Name" correctly.
          But in the Engaged Version, a Display Grid of cell B1 returns "0" instead.          p.s. Though the Excel View frame is still showning "Name", it is no longer WYSIWYG.
I'm using the function =Concatenate(A1) to get around the problem. But it is frustrated to change so many "+" sign of the file into '=concatenate()'.

Thanks Andy, It works fine with =A1.
About the reason why people use =A1 : All the new and old Excel version support the using of "" sign to refer to both number or lablels. The only exception is that you have to use "&" instead of "+" when you are going to concatenate two or more labels together.
Many users used to type +A1 instead of =A1, perhaps this is an old habit dated backed to the first version of Excel (old folks joke).
The +A1 works fine in the old Professional Version. Even in the Engaged version, it is still able to show the label for +A1 in the Excel Frame, but not in the actual run. Such non-WYSIWYG confuses the users.
Other consideration:I'm not sure that someone would like to return zero on label of a +A1 formula.

NetBeans Midlet signing not working for Sony Ericsson M600i

I'm developing an midlet that uses FileConnection class extensively. I intend to deploy the midlet on Sony Ericsson M600i. I want to make my Midlet a trusted one so that the annoying warning popups stop each time access the device filesystem.
I created a keystore in netbeans and created a certificate using keytool using that keystore. Then I installed the certificate on the device. When I tried to depoly the midlet it says 'security check failed. cant install'.
the device has MIDP 2.0 and CLDC 1.1
pls explain how to make my Midlet trusted.

pls explain how to make my Midlet trusted.You have to purchase a certificate (Verisign, Thawte...). NetBeans and WTK self-generated certificates are only for testing on the emulator and are not recognized by any handset (the root certificate is not available in the certificate store). And then, whether your purchased certificate is recognized by a specific device is both manufacturer/model and carrier dependent.

If you really tried all of the suggestions in all of the forums, there is nothing left to try. Make an appointment at an Apple Store and ask for their help. They have more sophisticated means of diagnosing and restoring than we have as device users.

If Wengophone doesn't work for you...

I've read reports from within these forums of Wengophone working for people under both 32 and 64 bit Arch. I've been trying to get it to work since 2.0 on 64 bit. I've tried many builds of 2.1.1, 2.1.2, 2.2 alpha 1 and 2, to no avail. Being motivated to finally go to a pure 64 bit system (delayed by Lightscribe working now), I decided to dig into the problem. With the help of a Wengo dev and some experimenting, these are the steps that I took to finally get Wengophone running.
Note: I did the final build with 2.2 alpha 2. Earlier versions will not compile against very modern builds of FFMPEG unpatched. That includes with all the 'extern C' stuff put back into FFMPEG.
To start I had my account updated by the Wengo people. This is the first thing that they do when troubleshooting. It allowed me to connect to the server for the first time.
The second thing was to stop Wengophone from crashing after startup. This was happening around 10 seconds after launching. I ran a stack trace and found a segfault:

Following a suggestion by the dev, I added this to DJ Clue's PKGBUILD from AUR in order to build against the Curl version shipped with the Wengophone source:
-DCURL_INTERNAL=ON
Now it could connect to the server without crashing. So I went to make a test call. It didn't work. The call timer would do nothing, and almost all functionality of the program, GUI and all, would stop working properly. I started to search and found no exact answers, but I kept finding references to PortAudio being a problem under Linux, and that the ALSA code was working (PortAudio was dropped completely from Wengophone this week). So in order to disable PortAudio, which automatically makes Wengo build with ALSA, I removed all references to PortAudio in the PKGBUILD, and replaced them with this line:
-DOWSOUND_PORTAUDIO_SUPPORT=OFF
Rebuilt and it works... more or less. I couldn't get my webcam to work until after I restarted the computer?! I can connect to the echo test, but volume of the call itself is very low. The rest of the sounds are normal. I'll test the call volume in the "real world" this weekend. I currently can't connect to the only SIP phone test number I know of: [email protected]. It still has trouble connecting to the network sometimes, and there are crashes from time to time.

When you select to add the printer, don't select the entry shown under Nearby Printers. Instead, select Add Printer or Scanner and from the new window that appears, select the Epson. If the Print Using menu does not change to the already installed driver and the search window appears, sometimes you have the option to skip this search and manually add the printer via the Print Using menu. If you are not given this option then trash the contents of the Epson folder in HD > Library > Printers. Then unplug the printers USB cable and reconnect. This should prompt the Mac to add the printer automatically and go looking for the driver which is available from Apple.

Forum 'Sign In' with Firefox browser not working

Anyone else having this issue with Firefox 23 or 24? IE9 works fine.

Notice there is no mention of the Adobe Forums or Adobe Labs 'Sign In' accounts. My 'Adobe ID' is my email address and my Adobe Forums and Labs 'Sign in' is trshaner, both with different passwords and email addresses.
I had an online Chat at the link you provided with Adobe Tech Support. I was sent a password reset email for the Adobe forums account using the other email address [email protected]. I was able to successfully change the password, but the old password persists for the Adobe Forums 'Sign In.'

I just downloaded Maverick on my Macbook Pro from 2011. When I try to open iPhoto, it says that I have an old version that doesn't work with Maverick. None of the solutions stated on this forum work for me, because there are no options displayed.

To change the iCloud ID you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iPhone (if you're using iOS 7), then sign back in with the ID you wish to use. If you don't know the password for your old ID, or if it isn't accepted, go to https//appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Tap edit next to the primary email account, tap Edit, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https//appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

It should work fine for iPhone/iPad because we can enable "Restrictions" to prevent the user from signing out of iCloud. Do we have simialr settings for the macbook?

If it's not on the device list, it indicates that someone has gone to Find My iPhone on icloud.com and manually deleted it from the device list (as explained here: http://help.apple.com/icloud/#mmfc0eeddd), and it has not gone back online since (which would cause it to reappear on the device list; Find My iPhone has been turned of in settings on the device; the iClolud account has been deleted from the device; or the entire devices has been erased and restored.
Unfortunately, there's no other way to track the phone other than through Find My iPhone. You could call your carrier and see if they would blackliste it so at least the theif couldn't use it.

You will have to provide the correct password to delete the existing account, if you have tried but are not getting the password reset email, contact Apple for assistance by going to https://expresslane.apple.com, then click More Products and Services>Apple ID>Other Apple ID Topics>Lost or forgotten Apple ID password.
