Forum User iView

HI All,
Currently we are Using EP7.0 SP19, I have created the Forum User iView, in that iView property- Target iView Within View on Forums = category.jspa%3FcategoryID%3D37
Accessing that iView using the portal URL http://server:port/irj/portal it opens the particular category directly and working fine..
But accessing that iView using Public URL https://www.mycompany.com, it opens the iView with the link "Forum". Not pointing to particular category. Any configuration i have missed out.
How to resolve this, please help me to achieve this

In order to display a nested iiView within another iView the same protocol has to be used. It is a general browser's security requirement

Hi All,
I need help with installing the forum functionality.
When I open the "Add Forums Administrator User"-iView I always get the following error message:
403 Forbidden
You are not authorized to view the requested resource.
In the log-file I found the following message:
User tfelp4, IP address
HTTP request processing failed. HTTP error [403] will be returned. The error is [You are not authorized to view the requested resource.No details available].
I must say that my useraccount has Superadmin-Permissions...
The "Forum"-iView works without problems, but there are no forum catagories, cause they must be installed for using.
Hope someone can help me

thanks for your reply. What does it mean "The actuall permissions must be given on the WEBAS"? In my understanding the Userprofiles and the assignment of permissions to a profiles are stored in the UME. In my mind I can do that within the portal environment.
Hope you can help me...

Forum admin and forum user

I have both roles assigned: Forum Admin and Forum User.
Q1. What is the use of this application: Change Admin User? Why everytime I have to set it to my current logged in user? Otherwise I always get No permissions.
Q2. I created a new forum "TEST". But in Forum user role, I just get blank page. What could be the reason.

We had the very same problem.
After the deployment via SDM the iview template was there, but the iview template had a missing parameter: Forum View Target.
Everything was fine, exept the page for the view was empty.
We redeployed the KMC-UI (from the installing doc) and then restarted the portal.
=> all 3 parameters in the iview templates were available
=> Forums view did work fine

No Access Error with Locked User iView

Hi
We are running EP6SP2 Patch 35
Im trying to give access to the Locked User iView to a group of users (I dont want them to have full User Management functionality)
Ive created a role and added Locked User iView to it. The role has the same property values as the standard User Admin role (eg UME Action ID: UME.Manage_All = Yes), but when I try to access the Locked User iView I get:
No Access
You have no permission to perform this action.
Can anybody advise what else I need to do to get this to work?

just to make sure: did you restart the server after assigning the UME Action to the role???
Unfortunately, this has to be done in order for your changes to take effect.

Change my forum user name

Is it possible to change my forum user name?

It's not a big deal and I don't want to make it so. It's just that it would be nice if there were something in place to deal with situations like mine. I have a MobileMe account now that I have a Mac. There is no way to associate my MobileMe .ME email address with my current profile, and I would like to reconcile that email with my user ID. So, the logic goes, if I could change the user ID associated with my non-MobileMe email, then that would free up my current (and preferred) user ID to be usable with my MobileMe email address.
Like I say, I'm not trying to make a big deal out of it, but it would be nice if Apple would make some provision to link a MobileMe email with an existing user ID instead of throwing up a brick wall between the two, thus forcing a new MobileMe user (and presumably a new Mac users) from having to choose between continuing to use their established (and presumably preferred) user ID and having to create a new user ID in the forums simply to be able to use their new MobileMe email address.
That's all I'm trying to do.

I am having a strange issue in SAP Forums Application.
my Netweaver 7.31 Portal is configured for Multidomain LDAP.
there are two domain.
domain_1 and domain_2.
while users from domain_1 can access the contents of Forums, Users of Domain_2 are not able to access the Forums and are being termed as Guests.
Another thing which i observed is:
if i add permission to users from domain_1 in Forum Admin, the users show in the permissions grid.
whereas if i add permission to users from domain_2 in Forum Admin, the users does not show in the permissions grid and automatically the permissions for registered users are enabled.
How to solve this?
Any one faced such issue?

When I try to access the locked users iview in user administration, the page comes up with the below stacktrace. How do I find the broken java (classComponentAccessToLogic.gotoPage()) and how do I fix it?

Problem with forum user name

I appear to have been 'bitten' with the user reset problem. My original id is now "nealeh-Y42Jq8" while my original "nealeh" now appears as a brand new user. I recall others having this problem in the past. How do you get it put right?

I noticed that, as was going to point you to the Forum Comments forum, where Adobe-Admin (John) would be able to help you, BUT the forum was so very wonky today, that it was taking me six log-ins, just to read the PrE forum.
It looks like you have the "real" Neale back, and I'm glad.
For the fix, just post to the Forum Comments forum, with your log-in details (sans PW). John will fix things for you.

Helping a forum user caused an error for me, Agent unreachable...

Does anyone know how to re-create the agent when the agent fails?
I was helping another users here in the forum who could not get his Database Control http://hostname:5500/em working.
I changed the following settings to illistrate how to change the address port through:
Stop DBConsole
Change the console server port property in
$ORACLE_HOME\hostname_sid\sysman\config\emoms.properties
Change the repository_url property in
$ORACLE_HOME\hostname_sid\sysman\config\emd.properties
Change all occurances of old port to new port in
$ORACLE_HOME\oc4j\j2ee\hostname_sid\config\http-web-site.xml
I guess I was not as smart as I thought, and now I am stuck getting my agent to work.
Oracle recommends to reset the agent:
emtcl stop agent
cd $AGENT_HOME/sysman/emd
cd upload
rm *
cd ../state
rm *
cd ..
rm agntstmp.txt
rm lastupld.xml
emctl start agent
I did this and now I am stuck, the agent is started but fails to be reachable.
Any advise would be kind!

You'll have to reinstall iPhoto in order to get the themes linked back to the application. To do so you'll have to delete the current application and all files with "iPhoto" in the file name with either a .PKG or .BOM extension that reside in the HD/Library/Receipts folder and from the /var/db/receipts/ folder,

[Forum] user clicks on thread, counter is incremented - again, again..

The following is definitely a minor problem, but you might want to change it in the board's software: say I just visited a thread, return to the forum and click on the thread again. The counter will increment, even if the time in between was only a few seconds.
The same happens, if I create a topic and click on it several times.
Maybe there should be some time in between? Say, the counter is reactivated after the session of the user on the server ends and a new session is created when he comes back...?
No big deal of course, but this could be confusing....

Yeah, once he said views-counter it kinda clicked in my mind. On one hand, it's reasonable to say "If somebody looks at this thread, then looks at it again 1 minute later, that's not two separate views". However, on the other hand, I wonder how many people sit on one thread reloading it over and over. I know I use the "show new posts since last visit" functionality to keep track of that for me, and if there's a thread I really want to watch, I subscribe to it.

I come before you with a problem. Our Proxy server at work has highlighted that our my work Macs are trying to access websites in the background. Thanks the help of this forum I am hoping I have solved this issue... (AdBlocker) however I know one thing - IT IS NOT A VIRUS
Here is where I need your help - Our IT Manager is insisting that the Macs need to have a virus and malware checker. (Even tho there is no such thing as Mac viruses and the problem is clearly not a virus) I believe this is pointless exercise and I am sure some of you will agree.
Can I please have your experiences/views of usefulness or otherwise of virus / malware checkers for the Mac.
Personally I am more than certain they are 100% pointless! However my word on this is not enough proof for our IT team.
I don't want to have to wait for a virus checker to check every file I download, update itself or lose productivity time with the daily scans they will make me take!
Please help a fellow Mac User out by backing me up in there pointlessness or convincing me of there is a place on the Mac for Virus / Malware checkers.

Well, it could be a trojan. I have heard of a file circulating on **** sites that redirects your DNS or something. You have to manually run the installer for it (or have the horrible Safari option "Open 'safe' files after downloading" checked).
I don't think that is the case for your machines, but check that Safari setting anyway.

I was about to suggest Little Snitch, but I'm not sure if that will work properly through a proxy. Try GlimmerBlocker instead. I just found out about it and I'm going to give it a try.

I lost my forums user ID

I am having an issue so I logged in with FF and it asked me for a new user or comnunity name and I chose this one instead of John Wolf (which I have been using since 05) and I lost all my posts. I still have the same login email address, but Apple has changed the forums a bit since 05. So when I cleared my cache in Safari (to fix other problems) I lost my login and know I am back to post #1. How can this be fixed?
