Forums Experiencing Technical Difficulties

As many of you have probably noticed the forums on OTN are experiencing some technical difficulty. The OTN team is working to resolve these outages and performance issues. These issues are to blame for the lack of response to your postings. As things improve I am sure answers will be forthcoming.
If you wish to have your name listed on your postings so they are easier to identify you will need to change your forum settings.
Thanks for you patience,

For what it's worth, these errors are generally related to the implementation of patches/enhancements to the forum.
If this forum is being monitored it would be nice to hear from someone from Oracle.Generally there's nobody here but us chickens.
If you want to complain about the availability of this site you ought to post to the [urlhttp://forums.oracle.com/forums/forum.jsp?forum=29]OTN Members Feedback forum. Unfortunately that list tends to get cluttered up with people too lazy, too stupid or too green to post their technical questions to the correct forum. The Members Feedback forum is monitored by Oracle staff but they are not empowered to do anything about the forum's availability.
This is the most frequently non-available site I visit on a regular basis. I have buttonholed various Oracleers at conferences, user groups, etc and made the point that these forums are an advertisement for Oracle's software and development prowess, and so ought to be always up. If even Oracle cannot implement stuff like Edge Side Includes what hope is there for the rest of us? Of course, the ESI errors have gone now: I suspect that's because this site has stopped using them rather than Oracle have got them right ;)
Cheers, APC

  • Podcast submission: "we are currently experiencing technical difficulties"

    Hi all,
I have a few podcasts that need submitting but i keep getting "we are currently experiencing technical difficulties"
    My feeds are:
    http://feeds.feedburner.com/ElmwoodChurchSeriesAllGodsCreatures
    http://feeds.feedburner.com/ElmwoodChurchSeriesFreedom
    http://feeds.feedburner.com/ElmwoodChurchSeriesGuestSpeakers
    http://feeds.feedburner.com/ElmwoodChurchSeriesLivingBeyondMyself
    http://feeds.feedburner.com/ElmwoodChurchSeriesMark
    http://feeds.feedburner.com/ElmwoodChurchSeriesSerious
    http://feeds.feedburner.com/ElmwoodChurchSeriesAllServices
    All feeds validate at feedvalidator.org.
I have then tested them through iTunes. Sometimes i do get exclamation marks next to items with 'the network connection was reset' by them, but when i choose 'get' they download fine. (I assume that's just a problem with my broadband connection?)
Trying to submit through iTunes I have been getting "we are currently experiencing technical diificulties" for over a week.
    I have tried the following:
    iTunes 10.6.1.7 on Windows 7
    iTunes 10.6.1 (7) on Mac OSX 10.7.3
    iTunes 10.5.3 (3) on Mac OSX 10.6.8
Also using both my iTunes account & my husband's account.
So either: iTunes podcast submission is broken currently (and they don't know, but how that can have gone on that long & them not know)
or: there is something wrong with my feeds (but these validate, so what is wrong?)
or: maybe there is something wrong with the server that is hosting the podcast files?
Any ideas as to how to move forward would be greatfully accepted - i have looked round the forums & there are only old threads saying 'try another version of iTunes)

    Hi everyone,
I recently submitted a podcast and it was rejected, for I believe copyright reasons.  I do however, have written permission from the original artists allowing me to use their tracks in the podcast.  Any ideas how to preceed with this ?
Also as of today the podcast submissions keep saying that there are technical difficulties ?
Here is my podcast feed too: http://turnofthetables.podomatic.com/rss2.xml

  • "We are currently experiencing technical difficulties. Please try again.."

I just updated my iphone so that I can now download the new apps. It appears I need a valid .Mac account on itunes so that I can download these apps. When I type in my email and password, I click "Redeem Code" (because I don't have a credit card), and type in my code. When it gets to the part where I have to type in my personal information in get a message saying "We are currently experiencing technical difficulties. Please try again later.".. I have been trying this for 6 hours, and haven't made any progress. I tried restarting itunes and my computer many times. No progress. Is anyone else having this problem too? I'm really starting to get irritated at this point. Its 11:16 PM, there cannot be too many people trying to access their servers at this hour.

You do not need a .Mac account to use the iTunes Store.
You do need to set up an "Apple ID" - this is free, in fact you have one, now that you are signed up to use the Discussions Forums.
To Redeem the code on your Gift Card, click on "Redeem" in the "Quick Links" panel at top right in the iTunes Store. When you get to the credit card screen, just click Continue.

Not a solution yet, but received the following from one of the tech people I've been e-mailing back & forth with.
"I'm sorry that you have been unable to submit your podcast. The podcast submission form is currently offline. When trying to submit the podcast you will receive this message "We are Currently Experienced Technical Difficulties". Once the issue has been resolved, I would be glad to inform you.
Apple is currently working toward a resolution for the issue you have reported. You will receive an email after the matter has been investigated and further information is available."
Who knows, maybe the problem isn't with my feed after all.

I am using http://www.greater-light.org/channel.php?id=3344. I have been trying over a month and I am receiving the same error.
    I am on Windows 7.
    Version iTunes 11.1.4.62.

  • When trying to upload my podcast, I keep getting the error message, "We are currently experiencing technical difficulties. Please try again later." I have verified that my artwork meets specifications.

My artwork meets the specifications though I have gotten error messages stating that 300x300, 600x600, and 1400x1400 are the proper format. I have tried all of these. I've only gotten the artwork error message a couple of times. The most common error message I receive is, as stated above, "We are currently experiencing technical difficulties. Please try again later." I have tried uploading the podcast from a different computer and on an different network. Have any of you had this same issue, been able to work through it?

Thank you for getting back to me so quickly. The RSS feed is http://www.lifeinnortheastohio.com/the-panel-scanners/rss.xml

  • Submitting Podcast - "We are currently experiencing technical difficulties."

I am trying to submit my podcast feed to the iTunes store. My feed is as follows: http://feeds.feedburner.com/ReturnToAlbionCamelotUnchained
The first step, according to Apple, is to submit the feed as a custom subscription and see if it populates. I did this, and it works just wonderfully.
Every time that I submit it to the iTunes store though I get an error message returned that says "We are currently experiencing techincal difficulties. Please try again later."
I've spent some time looking around and have found a number of posts in the past that experienced the same thing. Almost all of these posts went somewhat unresolved, many people stating that the issue lasted for weeks. Often suggestions were to check validation (it validates minus the <itunes:order> tags, which appears to be completely normal) or to "wait it out until the technical difficulties resolved". Unfortunately neither seemed to solve the issue for many people, and often times these issues were being experienced for weeks by people while others were able to submit it with no issue.
I'm hoping someone here may have some guidance. I've submitted a ticket to the iTunes support who sent me right back here.
    Can anyone assist?

After 2 weeks of trying almost daily I continue to get the "We are currently experiencing technical difficulties. Please try again later." message. Official Apple support continues to tell me that they are unable to help and to refer here for assistance.
Other threads posted with this issue have the same pattern of continuing issues, but I don't see any resolution or explination (or much success being reported from waiting). What's the deal? This is incredibly frustrating.

  • Submitted podcast, "We are currently experiencing technical difficulties."

    My feed is here: http://www.digmagonline.com/category/radio/feed/
My feed is valid. Whenever I try to submit it to the iTunes directory I get the message, "We are currently experiencing technical difficulties. Please try again later." I'm not sure when later is, because I've been trying for two weeks and not getting any help from emailing their "support." Sorry for the cynicism, but I'm hitting a wall I've never hit before(this is a new podcast for school, I've never had this problem with my personal podcasts). This is my last stop, but given the help I've received elsewhere, maybe it should have been my first.

Your feed appears to be OK. The only thing which might be an issue is that you have no 'podcast image' contained in an 'itunes:images' tag. iTunes has started demanding the specified size of image, and rejecting feed where the image is too small; I haven't been aware of them rejecting feeds which have no image, so I don't know whether this might be an issue or not. I can only suggest adding an image and seeing what happens.
The image needs to be 1400 x 1400 px, JPG or PNG, RGB colour space, and less that 500 kb.
Other than that, there may actually be technical problesm at their end, but it seems a bit unlikely it would be contiuous for two weeks. I've no way of knowing whether this is the case.

  • "We are currently experiencing technical difficulties"

I've had an Apple account for years, but have only (relatively) recently had an iPod. I just installed Vista and so need to authorize it to work with my iPod. When I enter my account id/password I'm told that my account needs to be updated to work with the iTunes store. Ok, no problem. But when entering my updated payment & address information I'm told "We are currently experiencing technical difficulties. Please try again later". It's told me this every time I've tried this week.
I also tried updating the same information via the normal Apple web site, but that gives me a different problem. It says "Address line 1, postal code, country code or Address line 1, city name, State Province, country code are required.", despite all that information being provided.
Anybody got a clue what's up?

I think the best advice anyone can give is to contact the iTunes support team. Sounds like something funky is going on with your account. Email the here:
    http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/store/authorization/
Good luck! And let us know what happens

    Hello,

Try using the Migration Assistant to move your stuff. If you do that with your iTunes/Music, it will work seamlessly (at least it has in my experience )

  • "We're experiencing technical difficulties at this time...."

I'm at a loss. Been trying to submit this feed for at least 3 days and continually receive the same dreaded "We're experiencing technical difficulties at this time. Please try again later." It reminds me of the historic "foobar" error message that never pointed to the problem in such a way that a person could find the problem.
True, this is my first podcast work and the first one I've submitted to iTunes. Which means that the problem must be somewhere within my work and not a problem within iTunes. I've been in contact (e-mail) with a couple of support technicians in Podcast heaven. One suggested that I go back and reread the specs, which I did. Following that, change the title and link information in case iTunes Store thinks it's an duplicate to another submission, which I also did - several times. The other tech guy asked me to send him the last for digits of the credit card information along with the account password (I wouldn't think they would need that information to check into the problem) and he would try to submit it for me to see if he could get it to work.
So, where am I after spending all these hours: I can bring up the feed in my browser, it passes the validation tests, and I can subscribe to the feed manually within iTunes. Anybody have any thoughts?
    The feed is at http://www.tlcfhaz.org/worship/podcast/rss.xml
    What am I doing wrong?

  • When i try submitting my RSS feed for a podcast itunes says we are experiencing technical difficulties...... why is this and when will it be fixed?

when i try submitting my RSS feed for a podcast itunes says we are experiencing technical difficulties...... why is this and when will it be fixed?

Well, I can't see any problem with the feed, and the episode media file is correctly referenced and plays. Incidentally you do have a 'copyright' tag - it says 'Wippenberg'.
When a podcast feed is rejected, corrected and resubmitted there is a minor bug in the Store which causes you to be told that the podcast has already been submitted (which is true but irrelevant - it's really meant to prevent duplicates). To get round this you need to make a small change to the title - for example you could add a hyphen and space before 'Podcast'. You can always change it back once it's been accepted.
The other issue might be the content. The reason given for rejection tends to be technical issues, whatever the actual reason is. I haven't listened to your podcast, so I can't comment directly. Possible reasons for rejection are unacceptable content, sexual content or strong language when the 'explicit' tag is not said to 'yes', and copyright infringement: a lot of people fall over this one by including 'mixes' or indeed full plays of commercially issued recordings without having written permission from the copyright owners or alternatively a valid Podcast Licence (not available in all countries, possibly only the USA). I have no idea whether this might be an issue with yours.

  • Cannot submit a Podcast ("Experiencing Technical Difficulties" Error)

    Hello,
I am currently trying to submit a Podcast to the iTunes Store, I have used the Advanced menu and have verified that the RSS Feed is working correctly.
Upon attempt to submit, the following message displays:
"We are currently experiencing Technical Difficulties, Please try again later'
Is this problem being worked on? I have noticed several other users post about this.
For reference, my feed is a RSS Feed published by Blip.TV

I've had the same message since Sunday. I wish someone from Apple would at least do us the courtesy of replying to these messages and letting us know what's going on. As it stands I don't think anyone can submit a new podcast feed to the iTunes Store.
If anyone reading this has done so in the last 24 hours PLEASE let us know.
