Forums linking to other forums

When I am in the Photoshop Windows forum I notice there is a link (on the right side of the screen) to the Photoshop Windows FAQ forum. Great, but why is there not also a link to Bridge Windows and Adobe Camera Raw forums? These products are most certainly installed on every Ps machine. What about a link to Photoshop Lightroom?
Some forums have no links such as the Bridge Windows. It's currently all very ad-hoc and navigation could be greatly improved with better links. They do not seem to be user configurable so Adobe should put more thought into these navigation links.

that's for Sub Forums, that's why only the Photoshop Windows FAQ shows up in there. There will be (i think/hope) a textbox that will contain links to other forums

Preferred way to link to other forum posts in your message?

Hi,
Every once in a while I come across forum posts that have links to
other posts in them. However, sometimes I cannot follow the link
and get back to the message that the poster is referring to. Is
there a standard way to link to forum posts?
For example, take the following thread:
http://forums.ni.com/ni/board/message?board.id=330&message.id=4386&query.id=0
The second message in this thread lists a URL that starts with
exchange.ni.com, and this just goes to a generic error message.
The poster does not give enough information for me to find the message
using an advanced search.
Are there any standard procedures for linking to other NI discussion forum messages for new posts?

This is due to changes which were made to NI's site (and probably the database) that make old links obselete. Most people just use the method you did and hopefully these links will be kept up-to-date.
In this case, if you post a new message in that thread, I'm sure Ray will be happy to help you.

Instead, if you wish to make a contribution, you should post to Apple.com > Support > Discussions > User Tips Library > User Tips Contributions . Only the Hosts can move approved tips to the "Apple.com > Support > Discussions > User Tips Library > User Tips Library forum.
It's unfortunate (or maybe it's designed that way) but the link from the main Discussions page takes you directly to the "approved" tips forum, bypassing the "User Tips" Category.
Why can I only post to Unix board?I'm sure you can post to the vast majority of the other forums listed on the main Discussions page.

Links on the forum are broken

Don't know if anyone else has noticed, but links on the forum seem to be broken.
e.g. Google
Is this some user specific setting that I've accidentally activated, or has the forum lost some functionality?

It just seems like Richard is not using the right way to embed a URL in the forum which is something like this:
Oracle UI Shell Functional Pattern
basically [ then url= and here the url then ] the some text and then a closing tag which is [ followed by / and url and ]

Simple qeustion:
Is there a way to just link to the forum register page?

Btw where can you find the bc docs? im really getting annoyed because i cant figure out just that simple stuff.

You not only got good stuff in there but if you look to the right there are the linkes to the BC knowledgebase and some good 3rd party resources from people like BC Gurus and Simpleflame.

Hi,
Is it possible to ensure external links in the forum posts open in new windows or tabs (according to the users browser settings).
Navigating away from the forum and then navigating back to read more of a post is a bit of a pain.

Why does bridge_scripting forum link disappeared from bridge forum?

I know this photoshop forum, but... I need to create this discussion here.

But I can't find anymore the link to bridge_scripting forum.
Although, it exists and it is alive:

Does this mean that scripting development within Bridge will be abandoned?

several times and nothing for months.

When i was trying to find bridge_scripting forum, and i didn't remember the adress anymore (I was on another computer) I did as I have done some time before.
I went to bridge general forum:

and i search down on the right column for the link to bridge_scriting forum.
I doesn't exist anymore and it was there before.

I am frustrated trying to download the latest update. I get an error message 126 and this has been reported on many other forums.

Resolution
Follow these steps to resolve the issue:
Check for .dll files

3. Reboot your computer.
Note: Depending on your operating system, you may only have one of the listed paths.
Uninstall and reinstall iTunes
1. Uninstall iTunes and all of its related components.
2. Reboot your computer. If you can't uninstall a piece of Apple software, try using the Microsoft Program Install and Uninstall Utility.
3. Re-download and reinstall iTunes 11.1.4.

Specific Forum Link in subject area

Hi, I thought I used to be able to go directly from the BW subject area to the BW forum via a link on the right hand side. Why did we remove that? It was soooo handy.
I could get my BW fix/updates and then go visit the forum...

Indeed, the forum threads were missing from BW, and also from many other areas, but only for a short time.
However, as an editor for SDN, I must inform you that the identity of the perpetrator was no deus ex machina, but some kind of ghost in the machine that upset our template when we added functionality. Just one of those mysterious things.
You will wake up to find the forum links alive and well.

No "Back to Forum" Link

There used to be a "Back to Forum" link, or something similar, when viewing a discussion. It has now disappeared. Where is it and how can I get it back? Is anyone else having this problem? It made things just a little bit easier.

There is a Back To Topic list just above the first post, and there is Apple.com>Support>Using Apple Discussions>Feedback about Discussions which is just below the bold *Apple Discussions* header. These are the only things I ever remember seeing and they are still there for me, at least.
At the bottom of the page there should be  Support Discussions.

Lost link to my Forum ID

Hello,
How can I get help with a lost link to my old Forum ID (witkacy)? The link was lost probably because of a recent (relatively) Adobe ID reset or, possibly, even earlier. I still have all the old credenials (when there was no need for the email ans user name, but the email has not changed).

No, unfortunately, I can't. My old credentials do not work anymore. Some time ago Adobe forums started requiring an email as an only form of a login into the forums. Back then I succesfully 'linked' my old forums ID to the Adobe ID (what is now an only option to get to the forums). But after a breach into Adobe's database and the password reset I've lost a link from my Adobe ID to that old forum ID of mine (witkacy). The only way was to establish a second forum ID (witkacy2). My question is - is there any way to regain the link to my old forum ID to my current Adobe ID.

FB Forum links won't highlight / click thru

Cannot highlight or click-thru any links on this one FB forum site ( "hand" graphic does not appear when cursor is waved over a link, just a cursor arrow ): www.nj.com/forums/rutgersfootball/ Other hypertext links on all other websites I've visited ( even www.nj.com/rutgersfootball ! ) work perfectly. Tried another new Curve at a Verizon store and it had the same exact issue as mine, yet my previous Blackberry Model 8730 and other new Blackberry device models at that same store worked fine clicking thru the links at this forum site. Verizon #611 support is clueless on this problem...
*Addt'l Background: Curve Model 8330 purch'd via Verizon Wireless on 6/12/08. Software Rev. 4.3.0.127. All Javascript capabilities have been enabled in both browser and general configurations. PIN and ESN numbers have been properly entered/updated via appropriate Blackberry/vzw website. Soft restart ( removing battery ) has been tried several times. Cache also cleared a few times. All for naught...
Any ideas out there?

I'm having the exact same problem. Has this been resolved? There are certain websites where I cannot click on any of the site links. I read on one forum that this might have to do with JavaScript? However, I have that activated and it still doesn't work.
