Forward Mail in Bounce Management

We are sending out newsletter email through campaign management. We want to configure bounce management functionality for emails that are bounced. There is a standard functionality available wherein in case of hard bounce business partner address data is updated. In our business scenario besides updating the Business partner data we need to forward the bounced email to a specific email address for review. Can anybody kindly help how to implement the Forward mail functionality of ERMS in bounce management context. I have tried to use the Forward email SERVICE of ERMS into bounce but I am getting error in class CL_CRM_ERMS_AH_FORWARD at line 85 wherein Forward TO and Forward from email address is not taken up from email addresses defined in Rule Modeler.

  • Bounce Management in SAP CRM 2007

    Hi Experts,
we have SAP CRM 2007 and I have a few questions about Bounce Management.
It is a very simple scenario, so it´s fine if only hard bounces for incoming EMails are handled.
    1) Do you need ERMS for that simple form of Bounce Mgt?
    2) Is the Usage of Inetraction Center required? (We do not want to)
    3) Is it possible/recommended to create Activities out of incoming bounces?
    4) Can you segment on Bounces, not only within the Campaign Automation?
    5) What ist the effort/set up to use Bounce Mgt in that simple scenario about?
    Thanks a lot
    Florian

Yes, I was mentioning SAP Note 897730. The major pre-requisite mentioned there is Event linkage settings through SWETYPV transaction and in your case you just need to do the Rule Modeler settings. If you are using DEFAULT policy you do not need to do anything in Service Manager Profile.
    The note pre-requisites mentioned are
The required services and service manager profiles for using the E-Mail Response Management System (ERMS) are defined: All entries necessary for bounce management are delivered in the default Customizing. As I mentioned before Service Manager Profile: Bounce is already defined and you are going to use that profile. The required service in your case would be "Bounce Data Update" or one of the 5 standard service mentioned in this note. These are already defined and taken care of in standard configurations. Therefore, you do not need to do anything over there.
Please do the above two settings and if you have any issues please come back to me. I am sure you won't have any issues with the requirements that you mentioned. I just took one hour to set up hard bounce scenario. Only if you are planning to use services that are not standard it becomes slightly tricky. In our case major issue was that there was an error in the standard workflow. I did not know much about Workflow bindings etc. before, but then I had to dig deep into this and it gave me an opportunity to learn workflows. This was the good thing that came out of all this.
    Regards,
    Deepak
Please note you will have to do the Event Linkage settings in SWETYPV transaction.

  • Bounce Management Report - CRM 5.0

    Hi,
Is there any standard report provided by SAP for BOUNCE MANAGEMENT?
If yes, please let me know.
We basically want to see how many emails have hard bounced and how many soft.
    thanks
    Yash

    Hi Yash,
There are no reports as such but you can create your queries to find out the bounced mails. You would require to maintain the customizations for ERMS (EMail Response Management Systems) for the same.
    Hope this would help.

  • Importance of Bounce management functionality in SAP CRM

    Hi All,
I want to discuss few interesting issues which I have come a cross while doing a setting for bounce management functionality in SAP CRM 7.0
Before sharing my experience I want to discuss some term related to Bounce email than will discuss about types of bounce emails and cause of the bounce email. The setting of bounce functionality is describing in below link .
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_crm700_ehp01/helpdata/en/46/3f509215835fa7e10000000a1553f7/content.htm
In general when a website visitor sigh up they receive email from the company site, the information the site collected saved in the database but It commonly happen some of your email will be undeliever. In marketing term we say it as 'Bounce'. this is the same way happen as when a person give a bank cheque to bank and don't have sufficient money to his/her account the bank people say the cheque got bounce ..
As we are aware emails are bounce for variety of reason such as.
         - In case the recipient email address is invalid.
         - recipient email address is inactive or closed
         - recipient mailbox is full or mail server have some technical issue etc
In general all these bounces emails categorize in two category.
Hard bounce- When email address is not active. example wrong email address, email address de-activated, deleted,or closed
Soft bounce-  recipient mailbox is full, mail server have some technical issue, Out_of_office is setup .
Now finally we come to know about the cause of bounce email and types. Now the question arises why this is so important when we have bounce management functionality active in sap crm marketing ? as described in above url.
suppose that there is a campaigning happening for an product where 3000 person visited it. Now incase 2000 visitors shown interest so have qualified as prospect bases on the information they have provided such as name, address, salary or employment detail.
After successfully execution of campaign now senior executives create a mailing list for all the prospects in the target group of campaign and sends email to all the users. Now if I say to how many customers really company have reached reached after campaign execution answer will be we can not have the correct fact and figure as there could be some bounce happened.
Now incase bounce management setting is configure in your CRM system than system will receive inbound e-mails for each bounce.Suppose we have received one thousand bounce emails than we would say actual customer contacted is 1000. this is the correct fact and figure and very much useful for marketing people.
After than executive could remove email address which were hard bounced and for soft bounce they can use some other channel to contact like telephone calls etc to reach them.
The correct facts and figures are very much important for marketing strategy and planning and also to know success level of each campaign. Assume a scnario where in day a company launches more than 5 campaign. I feel the importace is transparent now.
I hope you would find some interest in above blog.
    Thanks

    Hi
This is possible with business work place ( SBWP)
To achive this you need to do some settings
1.OPS6 - Created Person responsible ( in that enter your SAP ID as office user)
2.CJ20N - Maintained person responsible in Projects (WBS Elements)( the same you created in previous step)
So whenever you are getting error message or warning message it will goto your business work place.
3.Business Work Place - Maintained you manager email address for auto forward function
In order to do that select the menu path settings -->office settings -->automatic forwarding
    Click create button
Enter your manager mail address in forward to field and select U-->Inetrnet address and enter the time period.
after this above settings ask your basis consultant to check the mail sending related settings in SCOT t code.
If you carry out all the above steps the mail automatically reach your manager mail box.
    Please check and replay back
    Thanks

  • Forwarding Mail in 10.4

    Hi All,
Still kinda new to all of this, and haven't found an answer via searches
We have been using Post.Office to simply forward mail coming into one machine to another e-mail address. So in other words... mail coming in to [email protected] forwards to [email protected]
Is there a way to do this using Server Admin instead?
    TIA - Vijay

Okay - I think I have everything set up correctly; however when I test this with a test account the e-mail bounces back with this - any thoughts as to what I missed?:

  • Bounce Management - Retrieving Mime Information

    Hi Gurus
We are implementing Bounce Management to allow processing for Bounced Emails as part of Marketing Campaigns.
Our Campaign Mail Forms include MIG values and based on how the EMail Configuration is set-up this information is visible in Transation SOIN as part of the MIME data returned with a Bounced Email.
Our trouble is that we have created a custom Fact Fathering service, as a copy of the SAP Standard Service for Bounce Fact Gathering. I copied the standard Class and added a breakpoint into it so that I could debug the process. When a bounce comes in, it only retrieves a small number of the available characteristics of the email.
The MIME information does not appear to be accessed at all.
Could someone please advise on how to access the MIME data via a Fact Gathering Service
    Many Thanks in Advance
    Panduranga

    Hello Stefan,
if you check SAP code, it will not change anything in an eMail which comes back as a bounce from whatever mailserver, it just update some data to execute the rules which are maintained in ERMS.
Therefore the problem you have with Borderware mail server is the standard behaviour of all external mail servers, which normally send back bounces as an attachment and that is how it works in standard SAP CRM system.
Moreover, there are many different mail servers, some do not attach the original eMail. Try one if you can if that crucial one for you.
    Thanks,

  • Forward Mail on 10.4 Server Question

I know you can forward mail to another e-mail address via the workgroup manager in 10.4 Server, but is there any way to forward mail but and leave a copy on the server?
Any help would be much appreciated.

Do you have the OS X firewall running?
No the Firewall service is not running.
Did you fill in the default domain setting in DHCP
    config (Windows clients require it)?
It is filled in, in the DNS section. Our mac clients also don't get DHCP addresses.
Did you enable the interface in DHCP config?
Yes, it forces you to pick one interface. I picked "en0" (the choices were en0,en1,and fw0). The ethernet ports on the back of the Xserve G5 are labeled "1" and "2", I was assuming that en0=1 and en1=2.
Are you using netboot on the new server (any
    macaddress restrictions?) ?
No, nothing other than Apple File Services and Windows File Services running on these servers.
I wish I had copied and pasted it into my notes, but I did see an error message while troubleshooting at one point that indicated that "DHCP couldn't find an interface to bind to".
Any ideas? In 10.2.8 I just type in the exact same settings, start the service, and it works flawlessly.

  • Forward mail to MS Exchange for certain users

    Hello.
We have a "master" Oracle Messaging Exchange Server and we have recently installed a Microsoft Messaging Server. We need certain users to use MS Exchange. The idea is changing mailHost LDAP attribute for those users (let's take [email protected] as an example), setting the MS Exchange HUB server, let's say hub.domain.com (mailHost: hub.domain.com). Doing so, mails sent to [email protected] are sent to hub.domain.com using lmtp channel. Everything works fine except for an issue: MS Exchange sees the from address like "user@lmtpcs-daemon", so we have to configure MS Exchange to use "lmtpcs-daemon" as secondary domain of domain.com, otherwise it doesn't know what to do with those mails.
Is there a way to not do that rewrite for certain users? Or maybe can we create a new channel to forward mails to Exchange? Could we define a channel depending on mailHost value or something like that?
    Any thoughts?
    Thank you very much.

Thank you very much for your inputs.
It's being quite difficult for me to understand this whole mail routing thing. According to the documentation:
"The handling of a missing mailhost attribute is different depending on whether the entry is a user or a group. In the case of a user, a mailhost is essential, so if no mailhost attribute is present a new address of the form
    @smarthost:user@domain
is constructed using the smart host for the domain determined by the LDAP_DOMAIN_ATTR_SMARTHOST MTA option"
Sounds good, it seems that I just need to delete mailHost attribute for the users who need to use Exchange and set LDAP_DOMAIN_ATTR_SMARTHOST in option.dat. I've tried that but I get a "4.0.0 temporary error returned by alias expansion" when I send a mail to the test user.
I've deleted the LDAP_DOMAIN_ATTR_SMARTHOST line and I've set mailRoutingSmartHost LDAP attribute for the user but I get the same result.
I'm not even sure about the mailRoutingSmartHost format. This is what I have:
    mailRoutingSmartHost: correoweb.saludcastillayleon.es

  • Forwarding mail

In Snow Leopard Server, under Workgroup Manager, I used to be able to forward mail to that account to another email address.  I no longer see that option.  Did they remove this ability or am I missing something?
    Thanks.

Ok, another question if I may.  The virtual hosting looks like its for virtual domains.  I want to forward mail for a few of my users for the domain that I host.  For example.  Lets say my domain name is domain.com.  I want user A B C D to be able to use webmail to get their mail ([email protected], [email protected], etc) but for user F G I want there mail to go to a completely other address outside of my domain.
I tried to setup like the link showed about and I got a error saying I can't use the domain name in 'mydestination" and the virtual list at the same time.
The forward email on the old Lepard server worked fine.  I wonder what it actually did when you checked the forward button?
PS: On a side note, most of my users don't have a home directory since im just hosting mail, so the idea of a .forward file won't really work.

when I try to open my mail the mail icon bounces once in the dock and then nothing happens. I have auto update so i'm running the latest software. I can retrieve my mail from a website but I can't see my contacts or anything. No other application seems to be affected.
    Help please!

    HI Sonia,
    Have you tried repairing permissions?
That is always the first thing I do when something doesn't behave as expected.
Choose HD> applications>Utilities>disk utility. Open it and click on your hard drive icon, then choose repair permissions from the bottom of the panel. I don't usually bother to verify first but someone might disagree with me
    Let it run.
I usually go off and have a coffee break or something.
I also take a shot of the finished permissions so that if I have to give anyone information for troubleshooting I have a report of it.
a selective screen shot can be taken by using shift+command[apple key}+4 [all at the same time]
this puts a "pneg picture" on your desktop. I change the name to todays date, keep the pneg extension and file them in a suitably named folder for a month, just to be sure.
Sorry if you knew how to do it. but someone who doesn't might read the post and find it useful.
    Hope this helps
If not post back and maybe someone will have another answer.
Warmest wishes and welcome to "discussions" a great community .
