Forward some ports to a VPN

I use a VPN and with my macbook pro under SL, I can redirect all outgoing trafic to my VPN but I only want to redirect trafic from a port to my VPN
How can I do that ? with my Mac or with a software ?

Hi,
How did you configure the VPN Server?
Please check your steps:

  • Problem with opening/port forwarding some ports but not others

I read the Faq and the first few pages of the forums but couldnt find anything.
I am using the Port Forwarding (WRT54G, Firmware 4.20.7) to my network camera to try to open up ports 80, 554, 5556 and 5558.
Using the network toolbox at Blackcode.com I then check the ports to see if they are open.
Port 554 seems to be open. Port 80, 5556 and 5558 do not appear to be open.
I am using the correct external IP address (I can toggle port 554 open and closed and test that). Toggling Blocking Anon Internet Requests Of/Off makes no difference to the result.
I have checked with my ISP and they dont claim to block those ports.
Any thoughts on what this could be? Is there a way to test if its my ISP? If it is my ISP, is there a workaround?
    Thanks for any help.

Are you sure the camera does listen on those port at the time you did this tests? Are those ports open inside your LAN, too?
5556 and 5558 look like RTP ports which may only be active after the channels have been established through RTSP.
Forwarding of port 80 is known to be an issue on various routers as the router allocates port 80 for the web interface. Sometimes it helps to change the remote management port on the router from 80 to 8080 or something else. You may even have to enable remote management to get this active.
If this does not work you have to reconfigure port 80 on your server to a different port if possible.

  • I have a problem when want to port forward some ports by tiping in my default ip adress but when i do the site justs stays blank. is there a way or something to shut this of so i can open ports?

    hello,
i have a question, i need to open some port with firefox but when i type my default ip adress nothing happens, the page just keeps blank. so is there a way to turn this of or something?
    please help.
    best regards,
    Arne Demandt

Firefox includes options of how to handle different content types, in your case the mailto links are probably set to "Use Firefox". For details of how to fix this see [[Firefox keeps opening many tabs or windows]], in particular the section "Change the action for a content type".

  • Port Forwarding for Cisco ASA 5505 VPN

    This is the Network
    Linksys E2500 ---> Cisco ASA 5505 ---> Server
I beleive I need to forward some ports to the asa to use the IPsec VPN I just setup. I had the SSL VPN working but only needed to forward 443 for that....I assume that IPsec tunnel is a specific port.
    Thank You

For IPSec VPN, you need to port forward UDP/500 and UDP/4500, and remember to enable NAT-T on the ASA.
Command to enable NAT-T on ASA:
    crypto isakmp nat-traversal 30

  • Please Help - Only Some Port Forwards Working

    Hi all,
I have the most annoying issue with a Cisco 887VA-K9 port forwarding. Some port work while other don’t and I just can’t see why, however I suspect it is a zone based firewall (ZBF) issue.
Port forwards on the follow ports all work fine:
External port 8021 to 192.168.4.253 on port 80 works
External port 8022 to 192.168.4.253 on port 8022 works
All the rest don’t. I also have SIP phones sitting outside the LAN which are unable to register through the internet with the PBX unit which is in the DMZ network 192.168.4..0
Any help would be great appreciated as this sending me mad. Fully running config below.

It turns out the problem had nothing to do with wires or splitters.  The Verizon tech was at my house yesterday and the ONT was failing.  He replaced part of the ONT and it fixed the problem (finally!).  At least I was able to watch the Celtics game last night.
I have a Tellabs ONT.  Not sure the model but it's older like the ones in this thread.

  • WRT350N unable to forward single port to VPN.

I set up a PPTP (VPN) server on my network so that I could access stuff at home when I am not.  I went to the router to configure router to forward the port for VPN -- 1723 -- to the IP of the the server and got the following error:
Port overlap occured!  Please change your entry!
I am running firmware version 1.04.3 and have tried 1.03.7 without any luck.  I originally configured with a previous version of the firmware and have haven't had a need to change the configuration.  I tried to save the settings without any changes and got the same message.  The current port forwarding is:
    SMTP                                                  172.16.0.2      enabled
    POP3                                                   172.16.0.2       enabled

I dont' have any port overlaps.  I have changed everything and nothing works.  It was working perfectly under the original firmware.  This router is less than a year old. I have looked at other threads that are serveral months old without a new post and without a resolution.  I am going to need to change the web server as the machine that was running the web server is now dead and I CANNOT change the address.  I wish there was a way to go back to original firmware.   I even tried to reset the router to factor defaults and could not change the port forwarding.

    ridcully wrote:
Yes, you are right you don't have any port overlaps...Well, you should check the subtabs "Port Range Forwarding" and "Port Range Triggering" and check if you have any port overlaps there...Also did you reset your router after the last firmware upgrade ? If not you must reset your router and re-configure it from scratch...
Do not have anything under either one of those tabs until now because I need to get VPN established. That is under "Port Range Forwarding" and it is just a single port -- 1732 (VPN).
    Steps
Backed up configuration to a file.
    Flashed with 1.03.7
    Power Cycled WRT350N
Tried to add a single port forward for VPN.
    Got Error
Followed the same with the above steps.
    Got the same error.
Pushed in the "Factory Defaults Button" for about 45 seconds.
    Now with Factory Defaults
    Configured for ISP.
Tried to add in just a POP3 server with no other ports defined.
    Got the same error.
    Flashed with 1.04.3.
    Power Cycled
    Set back to factory defaults.
    Configured for ISP.
Tried to add POP3 server with no other ports defined.
    Got the same error.
    Flashed with 1.03..
    Power Cycled
    Set back to factor defaults.
    Configured for ISP.
Tried to add POP3 server with no other ports defined.
    Got the same error.
    Flashed back to 1.04.3.
Restored back up. Old ports are still defined and still can not map new ones.
I think that the firmware version that was on it when I bought it was 1.03.2 -- wish that I had never upgraded it.

  • RV220W - Port Forwarding - Different Ports

    Hey,
    I have a RV220W with 1.0.3.5 Firmware installed.
I also have a few servers with services I need to expose to outside the network (RDP and some websites) where the external port is not the same as the LAN port. I could accomplish this with my previous router using port forwarding and it looks like I can do the same here on the RV220W but I can't quite get it to work successfully. I would be grateful for any help / directions.
    Thanks.

So here is how Port Forwarding is set up on the RV220W with firmware 1.0.3.5
In my example I needed to setup my :6001 to forward to an internal address for remote desktop, 192.168.1.12:3389.
First, as detailed above by Robert, set up the custom service you want the public address to be listening for. In 1.0.3.5 I found this under Firewall > Advanced Settings > Custom Settings. Add a new service speficying the name, protocol, and ports. For my RDP connection It was "RDP", TCP, and the Start Port and End Port set as "6001", the port that was listening publicly.
Next go to Firewall > Port Forwarding and add a port forwarding record. And set the following values.
    Action: Always Allow
    Service:
    Destination IP:
Forward From Port: Same as incoming port
    Forward To Port: 3389
Hit save and that should be it. The problem I was running into is I was setting the "Forward From Port" as the port I wanted to have translated, so 6001. This is already specified with the custom service I created, so when setting it twice it wasnt working.

  • Difference Between Port Forwarding and Port Triggering.

    Hi guys,
I'm lost! The differences between port forwarding and port triggering is driving me nuts! It all seems very subtle to me. Can anyone explain to me (in a very simple way) what exactly are their differences. Thanks in advance!!

    Port Forwarding
The big difference between this and port triggering is that forwarding is fixed.. you forward a port and it is always forwarded.. IE available to connection.. basically the forwarded port is excluded from the fire walling abilities of the router.  Second it is static and applies to one machine only. Whereas you could set port triggering to the router and thereafter any machine on the LAN can trigger it unless its already in use.. port forwarding must be specified for each individual machine.
Port forwarding requires you to give each PC on the network its own unique static IP address.. Although there is ssh port forwarding that can be set dynamically. Most users only have the option of static ip port forwarding.
The real downside of port forwarding is that it can be very tricky to set up... You may have to allow a series of ports on a machine and have to do that for each machine you want to allow through. Also routers often have limited abilities and may not allow you the ability to forward a port or select the service you require.
    Port Triggering
This is a way of Dynamically assigning a service to a port WHEN it is required by an outgoing service. The port is initially not allowed so nothing can get in and you are protected by your network.
A good example of this is when using Yahoo! voice .. the voice works fine for a few minutes after you connect to Yahoo! then Yahoo! sends some kind of packet that requires a response from your PC... The packet is allowed in through your router no prob but the outgoing reply is not authorized to open a port on the router and is thus blocked.
    'ope this helps

  • Forward camera port for static IP address

    Hi.
I have a Foscam camera which I have used with a Netgear modem-router. I used UPNP to forward its port to my IP address. My ISP then gave me an address which accesses my own non-static IP at all times.
I have now purchased and installed the AirPort Extreme, and I need to setup my camera. Everything is working properly, other than external access to the camera.
I have disabled the camera's UPNP as I understand AirPort doesn't support it. I added a port forward option for both TCP and UDP for the camera's private IP. However, I still cannot get the camera to work.
I tried to change various options - toggled the NAT PMP, camera's UPNP, added a default host, but nothing seems to work - I can't access the camera externally.
    Appreciate any assistance.
Edit: It is interesting that when I try to browse the camera webpage (from an external internet source), I get the 'server not found' message faster for all ports I do not use, and it is significantly slower for the port I forward (8000). So something does appear to be working...

    Thanks for the reply.
I can't run wireshark (I don't know how, anyway) on the camera, but I tried to add a port forward for my laptop and ran wireshark there.
Then, I accessed from an external network my IP:port, and I did see some activity (obviously, there's no one to answer on port 12345).
    This is the response:
    http://imgur.com/RTYvGzB
So it appears something is working, but I am not sure why my camera doesn't "get" it when I try to access its port (where it does work with the internal IP).

How to Port Forward on AEBS

  • I am not reachable, but forwarded the port in AE & OSX Firewall

    hi,
i forwarded the port 49500 for my bittorrent client, using with macgamefiles for example, in my osx firewall and my airport admin tool.
    49500 … 10.0.1.2 … 49500
my torrent client is running, when i check it at www.canyouseeme.org i get an error: Error: I could not see your service on 85.xx.xxx.xxx on port (49500)
    - why?
    - which port can i test at www.canyouseeme.org, to see if my powerbook is reachable at all?
    - why is my private IP 10.0.1.2, as listet in the airport port forward, cause when i open airport admin tool it shows: 10.0.1.1
    - how can i access my airport from browser? (safari)
    - what is DMZ? someone told me to do that
    thanks

    thanks for the link
thats a bit hard to understand for a network novice as me.....
in the network prefs, i have this IP: 10.0.1.3
so i change it on the router also..
actually , the funny thing is, that i am not aware at all what i am doing here, i play trial and error, but have no insight....
    maybe it will work....thanks

  • Port Forwarding with Port Translation RV042, RV016, RV082

This is a feature request for the Linksys RV series Routers.  Currently, it appears that the Cisco/Linksys RV042, RV082, and RV016 only support port forwarding and 1-to-1 Nat.  One item that I find very helpful with customers is port forwarding with port translation.  I am requesting that this feature be included with a future firmware relase for these RV series routers.
Here is an example of the request.
Take an incoming service request on a TCP or UDP destination port and forward it to an internal IP on a different TCP or UDP port.  For example, customer A wants to allow different machines on the internal network to receive Windows RDP connections inbound.  To make PC maintenance identical between the internal machines, the customer does not want to change the listening port for RDP on the individual PC workstations through the Windows Registry.  The customer also does not want to dedicate separate IP's to each machine in a 1-to-1 NAT setup.  The only option is to have remote connections to each of these PC's to use a different destination port.  So, for example, PC one could be reached on TCP port 5151, PC two on TCP port 5152, and PC three on port 5153.  This requres a firewall that is able to translate each of these connection requests to a different internal IP on the default RDP port (TCP 3389).  So, the following setup is required:
    Port Forwarding with Port Translation:
Router External IP on TCP port 5151 ---> forwarded to PC One's internal IP on TCP 3389
Router External IP on TCP port 5152 ---> forwarded to PC Two's internal IP on TCP 3389
Router External IP on TCP port 5153 ---> forwarded to PC Three's internal IP on TCP 3389
There are several comparable "small business" class router competitors to the RV042, RV082, and RV016 that will perform this port forwarding with port translation process without incident.  Unfortunately, these Cisco/Linksys small business routers will not accomplish this task currently.
Please implement this feature in a future firmware release.
    Thanks!

Excellent.  I see this now.  None of our customers actually use the UPNP feature, so we never realized that Port Forwarding with Port Translation features existed on this page along with the ability to enable or disable UPNP.
Perhaps, in the future, this functionality could be moved to and incorporated into the port forwarding page which seems to be a more logical location.
In either case I'm very happy to know that this feature is available on the RV's.
    Thanks for your assistance.

  • Some Port Mapping help.

Ok was using a verizon wireless router/modem with my mac network. Did all my portmapping right through verizon router controls. (About the only thing that worked well).
    Now......
I have an airport extreme N router. I am still using the verizon router as modem. I have a ethernet cord going out of the verizon router into my airport WAN connection. I tried port mapping in the airport extreme for FTP to my office server and now no traffic can connect. Is there something im still suppossed to be doing to the verizon router???? I have all wireless capabilities on the verizon turned off as well as any mapping. Verizon has been no help in this. I am mapping port 21 to that specific computer with people loggin in to my outside IP its definitely the right ip. Where is this getting stopped?

With this setup, you have two local network layers. Your Verizon router is distributing the 192.168.1.XXX addresses, one of which is being assigned to your Airport. Then your Airport is distributing 10.0.1.XXX addresses to any of the computers connected to it.
If the Verizon router is not forwarding any ports, then you will have no access to your local network(s) from the outside. If you want FTP access to a computer that's connected to your Airport, then you will need to forward port 21 from the Verizon router to the Airport's 192.168.1.XXX address, and then from the Airport to your computer's 10.0.1.XXX address. I believe this will work, but I have never tried that 2-layered setup myself.

  • [WRT54GS] Forward a port in a different port

    Hello,
I have the wireless router WRT54GS v1.1. Its software version is v4.71.1
I would like to forward a port (for example 80) to a different port of my server on my local area (for example 8080).
So when a user connects to the url http://domain.com, the request is forward to the port  8080 of my server.
I have found in the configuration page of my router, the forwarding port but the target port can't be specified.
    Is it possible ?
    Thanks for your help.

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Thanks a lot !!!
It's very harm. I hoped that with an update or a telnet connection on the router, I could modify a missing menu :-)
I am probably testing the 3rd party firmware like dd-wrt. Have you got a good feedback ?

  • Some ports  randomly get blocked and the external program is unable to rece

We have configured few ports to send out Idocs using TRFC mechanism. Initially all the ports are working fine and the external program  is able to receive Idocs from all the ports. However after sometime, some ports  randomly get blocked and the external program is unable to receive Idocs from these ports. If the SAP instance is restarted, we see that all ports work fine for a certain period but the same issue appears again after sometime.
This behaviour is observed in case of TRFC calls but not for normal RFC calls.
RFC Connections, partner profiles, ports, distribution model - these all are working fine.
    Your help will be appreciated.
    Thanks in Advance,
