Forwarded email through rules display in HTML

Messages that are automatically forwarded using one of my rules do not seem to keep their original formatting.
e.g. I have received a new email, in plain test, which my rule then picks up on and automatically forwards to my friend. However, when my friend receives this message it is in html format.
My mail version is 2.1.3 and OS X 10.4.11.

What are your friends settings?
Most times both formats are sent, but the reciever settings determine what is viewed.

  • Html emails are not displaying. they just show the code. text emails don't display at all. what's up?

    suddenly today my email won't display properly. html emails just display the actual html code instead of a graphic display. Text emails just show a blank page. I have changed the View setting to show messages as original html, simple html and plain text. None of the settings restores things. All these emails were viewable properly yesterday.
    Anyone got any ideas as to what's up?

    sounds like your index and the data are out of synch. Often the result of anti virus activity either blocking the update of the index or quarantining the whole inbox so there is no mail left to display.
    Right click the folder, select properties and then the repair button.

  • Emails through BB bridge display " " instead of TAB spacing... only my problem?

    Hi there,
    when I read an email through BB bridge that uses TAB spacing, the TAB space is replaced by "&nbsp"  instead of the TAB spacing. The email is displayed correctly on my Bold 9700 where the bridge connects to.
    Also when I forward the email back to myself and read it on my Bold 9700 and TAB spacing is displayed correctly.
    It seems as if email on the playbook is not able to interpret HTML TAB code.
    Anyone else the same problem? Or give it a try?
    THANX

    This has been an issue for a while and RIM is working on a solution to it. I'm afraid it is a matter of waiting for the next OS upgrade and hope it is solved then.

    I am trying to forward a certain email I get to my icloud email to another email address. I have added the unwanted senders email to rules and included where i would like the email to be forwarded, however it doens't seem to be working as i also added a second rule for testing purposes with my other hotmail account
    any help would be great

    new account are created without a password, so asking for it is normal.

    Compare the passwords Thunderbird has for the other accounts and see if using the same one is what you need to do.

  • Some HTML Emails Do Not Display Properly

    Recently, some HTML emails do not display properly in Mail. All I see is HTML. Yet, 98% of my HTML emails render properly.
    Any thoughts on why this happens with some emails? Is it a Mail issue or are these emails not coded properly?

    Hello Tony.
    Could be a combination but since Mail renders 98% of of all HTML messages properly (using Safari as the engine), this indicates it is a coding problem.
    I'm not a big fan of using HTML with email since it introduces a number of problems. If everyone used Plain Text for message composition, the majority if not all problems experienced with email would be eliminated.

  • Forwarding email to .mac problems, some emails come through, not others

    i have a forward set up through my hosting to send emails from my 'old' email address to my .mac account. some emails come through, but in tests through mail.app, some do not. the forwarded email accounts seem to get to me 30 minutes after i send them, or not at all.
    any ideas? i thought it could be a spam filtering thing, or that apple is blocking something? but it just seems inconsistent, as i've received a few emails, but others i sent from the same accounts are not showing up.
    thanks for any tips.

    Firefox doesn't do email, it's strictly a web browser.
    If you are using Firefox to access your mail, you are using "web-mail". You need to seek support from your service provider or a forum for that service.

  • Tracking detail displayed & prints on all inbox emails & forward emails. How to remove or hide?

    My incoming emails shows all the tracking information ( that was previously hidden) on the screen and the printed emails. If I forward an email the tracking information is included on the forwarded email. If I reply to an email, the information is not displayed (shown) on the email. We have not been able to find a way to hide this information as it was in the past and is for our other users.

  • Rule-Based Forwarded Email

    I am reviewing the contents of the Message Tracking logs from an Exchange 2010 server. How can I identify those emails that were forwarded using some form of rule-based forwarding? Does the exchange server record rule-based forwarded emails in the Message
    Tracking logs?
    I would normally perform a test to find the answer, unfortunately I do not have access to an Exchange 2010 server.
    Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

    You didn't say you were running the Exchange server on a Domain Controller (not a configuration that's recommended). Since this is an Exchange forum I took what you said to mean that you had only an image of the Exchange server.
    If you have the AD then you'll find the alternateRecipient property on the accounts that had it populated at the time your image was made, along with the transport rules (which would be easier to deal with using Powershell).

  • Mail Rule Applescript to Forward Email Attachments Only

    Hi Everyone,
    I'm running 10.8.4 and Mail 6.5. Using Mail Rules, I'd like to forward emails containing attachments but not the message content (contained in the email to be forwarded). I am not an AppleScriptor but have tried to write code...with no luck. Does anyone know of such a script that can be activated using Mail Rules? Or propose a script I could use?

  • Is it possible to send HTML Email through Flash using navigateToURL()

    Hey,
    I was trying to pass html content to the email body, but looks like it is not doing that.
    var request:URLRequest = new URLRequest('mailto:');
                var variables:URLVariables = new URLVariables();
                variables.subject ="Subject";
                variables.body = '<b>hello</b>';
                request.data = variables;
                request.method = URLRequestMethod.GET;
               request.contentType = "text/html";
                navigateToURL(request, "_self");
    current output inthe email:   <b>hello</b>
    Expected result : hello
    Please let me know if anybody knows the solution
    Note: I even tried these but didn't work.
    variables.body = encodeURIComponent('<b>hello</b>');

    is there any other object or an alternative solution available in Flex or AIR to do this from client side. my goal is, open the system default email client and pass the html content to it's body.

  • Forwarding mail by rules

    I am unable to have mail received at home, redirected to my .Mac mailbox so my phone will receive it.
    The forward selection in rules is changed to move when I enter the redirected address. When I go back to change the move to forward it is grayed out.
    I thought it was because I have the account listed in Mail on my home computer, but I tried an alias and this did not work.
    Thanks all

    Well ever since I discovered the problem I've been sending it to myself instead of my friend, and yet the problem still occurs.
    I don't know if I was detailed enough in my previous post, but here is my exact set-up:
    - 1 Mail account (POP3 Gmail)
    - using Gmail's POP and SMTP servers (side note: I've tried with different SMTP servers but it still has the same result)
    - in Preferences/Viewing, I have 'Display remote images in HTML messages' ticked
    - in Preferences/Responding I have 'Use the same message format as the original message' ticked
    - my rule goes like this:
    *if - from - contains - [email protected],*
    *Perform the following actions: Forward message - to - Myself AND stop evaluation rules*
    Do you have a similar setup Ernie? If so, does the forwarded message keep its formatting for you?

  • Not receiving forwarded emails on Exchange and some attchments

    Hi All,
    This is not only happening to me, but everyone in my entire organization every sine iOS 8.0 came out, and the issue continued with 8.0.1, 8.0.2, and 8.1. The issue is pretty persistent as well.
    When someone forwards an email to us, we are not receiving the forwarded email, just the email that they are composing. I verified that each and every time, there was an original email, but it does not display on the iOS devices... across the board.
    In addition, some attachments are not coming through when sent; this happens when receiving an original email or forwarded email containing an attachment. I have been able to replicate the issue on every device with varying emails and attachments.
    This issue also only started happening once we upgraded to 8+, never on any version of iOS 7.

    Hi
    do you have a receive connector setup? Anonymous access enabled on the connector?

  • Displaying the HTML content ( VO attribute) as tooltip description.

    Hi all,
    I am doing a customization, where I need to display the VO attribute value as a tool tip for a link in advanced table column.
    The VO attribute value is a "HTML" text.
    Now, in the tool tip also, it is displaying in HTML format.
    Do anyone know how to convert this HTML format to a string format.
    Thanks in advance.

  • User Mail filter refuse to forward emails

    Hi all,
    I use the Messaging server with Calendar and SSO with AM. I have The Messaging server version:
    Sun Java(tm) System Messaging Server 6.2-4.03 (built Sep 22 2005)
    libimta.so 6.2-4.03 (built 04:37:42, Sep 22 2005)
    All others type of filters I tested works, except when I create a rule to forward incoming email based on specific keywords (subject or sender doesn't matter).
    I always get the email and another one with the subject: "Problem during delivery processing"
    and the body:
    Processing errors occurred during delivery:
    Recipient address: [email protected]
    Reason: Error in sieve filter: Too many notifys specified
    Delivery processing continued in spite of these errors.
    The problem is I just put one email in the "forward email to:" field and the forward is not executed even if stating the delivery processing continued.
    I don't see the forwarded email "stuck" in any queue. (imsimta qm)
    I did the "imsimta test -rewrite -filter -debug [email protected]" but unfortunatly I can't make much of the listing of infos...
    Any ideas ?
    Thanks,
    Phil

    Hi Shane
    Hi Phil,
    Are you saying that you created a new rule for a
    different account on the same server and it now
    works, or a different server?
    Sorry for the confusion: I create a filter rule to forward specific emails in users accounts (using the gui of uwc) and every time I do, it doesn't work. On all servers I installed soo far.
    I would be looking at:
    - software release differences (messaging server) if
    the accounts are on different systems.
    - differences in the rules themselves (imsimta test
    -rewrite -debug <address> will display towards the
    end the rules as were retrieved from the directory
    and the rules in the order which they are evaluated.
    The second rule listing display is most useful)
    Since you can retrieve the rule, you can see what
    rule matched by doing the following:
    imsimta test -exp -mm -block -input=test.filter
    -message=rfc822.msg
    -> test.filter is the sieve filter rules for the
    user
    -> rfc822.msg is an example email that isn't
    matched.When I do that, everything is ok if the rule doesn't match, and when it matches, I have the same error message (previous post) that I have by email. Here's the whole thing:
    bash-3.00# ./imsimta test -exp -mm -block -input=phil.filter -message=mess.msg

    Dump: "This is an auto-forwarded message" ; "" stop
    Evaluation error: Too many notifys specified
    As you can see, there is just one specified notify and did use the gui of uwc.
    It could be the problem is as simple as an earlier
    rule is being matched and the forward rule doesn't
    get hit.I tested on different users, even on a server with just one user and one rule.
    Thanks for the help so far, and the infos on how to check filter rules ;)
